Albert Einstein Quotes on Spirituality
I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts; the rest are details.
Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind.
My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.
The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge.
Every one who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe-a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble.
The scientists' religious feeling takes the form of a rapturous amazement at the harmony of natural law, which reveals an intelligence of such superiority that, compared with it, all the systematic thinking and acting of human beings is an utterly insignificant reflection.
There is no logical way to the discovery of elemental laws. There is only the way of intuition, which is helped by a feeling for the order lying behind the appearance.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious; It is the source of all true art and science.
We should take care not to make the intellect our god; it has, of course, powerful muscles, but no personality.
Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the Gods.
When the solution is simple, God is answering.
God does not play dice with the universe.
God is subtle but he is not malicious.
A human being is a part of the whole, called by us Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest-a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us.
Our task must be to free from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.
Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.
The man who regards his own life and that of his fellow creatures as meaningless is not merely unfortunate but almost disqualified for life.
Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding.
Only a life lived for others is a life worth while.
The human mind is not capable of grasping the Universe. We are like a little child entering a huge library. The walls are covered to the ceilings with books in many different tongues. The child knows that someone must have written these books. It does not know who or how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. But the child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the books—-a mysterious order which it does not comprehend, but only dimly suspects.

Albert Einstein makes anti-Nazi speech.
"I am glad that you have me, given the opportunity of expressing to you here my deep sense of gratitude as a man, as a good European and as a Jew.
It cannot be my task today to act as judge of the conduct of a nation, which for many years has considered me as your own.
We are concerned not merely with the technical problem of securing and maintaining peace, but also with the important task of education and enlightenment. Without such reason there would have been no Shakespeare, no Goethe, no Newton, no Pasteur"

Note: I have enabled comments again, but I will only read them on those days when I feel strong. Although most are loving, encouraging and thankful, some are vicious and crude. These hurt my feelings, and having experienced enough pain in my life, I owe it to myself to protect my still open wounds.
Here is the link for two excerpts for Erik's new book: My Life After Death: A Memoir from Heaven

http:\\www.channelingerik.com Channeling Erik: Interviews with my son in Heaven. After my son, Erik Medhus, took his own life, he began to visit friends, family and the readers of my blog, http//:www.channelingerik.com. Eventually, he began to share what he had learned from the Other Side. This channel will include either videos or audio only recordings of his insight and wisdom. All of them explore the true nature of death, the afterlife, reality, the soul and the human experience — as told by Erik himself, translated by world renowned medium, Jamie Butler (withloveandlight.com). The material found in this channel are the first of its kind to provide answers, directly from Heaven. Please like this video if you enjoyed it, and join his blog at www.channelingerik.com. Listen carefully for Erik's voice as, though we never hear it live, he sometimes leaves them on the recording. Please let me know if you hear one because I never listen to the video after I record it. Please like this video if you enjoyed it, and join his blog at www.channelingerik.com.

Dear Viewer:
The journey on which you're about to embark will take you through stories that are deeply personal and involves a relationship between a mother and her son.
As a physician raised by two atheists, I had no personal belief system about life after death. In a word, I was a confirmed skeptic. As my journey progressed, my mind opened. It is my sincerest hope that yours will open as well and that you will have a greater understanding of your own life and what's to come ahead.
Although Erik sometimes paints a rosy picture of the afterlife, time and time again he stresses that suicide is not the answer to one's problems. If you struggle, please understand that the information in my blog and my book is no substitute for professional help. Please click here for a list of resources for help when you find yourself considering taking your own life. Know that they are readily available when you feel that hopelessness and despair that many of us feel from time to time in our lives.
I refuse all donations and ad revenue on the blog. It is my dream to
one day establish a nonprofit organization that delivers a variety of spiritual services for those who have lost loved ones to suicide and cannot afford that assistance on their own. It's a mission of love, sacrifice, and dedication.

Here are 10 interesting facts about Albert Einstein.
Guess who: He was ridiculously smart, had crazy hair, and a knack for super-complicated science.
If you said Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker, you're wrong, because that's two people.
The right answer is Albert Einstein.
Here are 10 interesting facts about the man.
Number 10. He was a ladies man. Einstein was married twice and in letters written over the years admitted to having 6 mistresses.
Number 9. Einstein died after refusing surgery. The physicist suffered an abdominal aneurysm in April of 1955. He was rushed to University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, but declined a potentially life-saving surgery. He said, "It is tasteless to prolong life artificially. I have done my share, it is time to go. I will do it elegantly." He passed away a day later.
Number 8. He took the time to respond to a child's letter. It wasn't an easy topic, either. The girl asked on behalf of her Sunday school class if scientists prayed. Einstein's well-penned response was truthful while simultaneously being respectful of religious belief systems.
Number 7. Einstein had a contract with his first wife. In addition to cleaning, laundry and cooking requirements, it excused him from all unnecessary social interaction. Silence upon demand was also a stipulation of their marriage -- hers not his. He vowed to just leave her alone in general. Notably, it was drawn up after their marriage had gone south anyway.
Number 6. Einstein may have had illegitimate children. Historians and possible progeny have come forward to attest to such, but solid proof has always remained elusive.
Number 5. He's among the top earning dead celebrities. Einstein is listed at number 8, coming in just after John Lennon and one step ahead of Bettie Page.
Number 4. J. Edgar Hoover wanted to kick him out of the US. Einstein's political views, which gravitated towards pacifism and socialism, prompted some to distrust him. Hoover thought the scientist was a spy and for years ordered agents to tap the man's phone, rifle through his trash, and even open his mail.
Number 3. Einstein turned down an offer to be President of Israel. The year was 1952, and the newly established nation was searching for a 2nd president. Though he declined, Einstein said that he was 'deeply moved' by the invitation.
Number 2. He preferred visualization over experimentation. When it came to forming his game-changing ideas, he would first imagine how his theories would play out, mathematical equations and all.
Number 1. He had a huge brain. Literally. Well, at least the corpus callosum part, which, when you're in the genius business, is key. It's the neural network that allows for all parts of the brain to connect and work in harmony.

Einstein explains "The Common Language of Science"
The essay is called "The Common Language of Science." It was recorded in September of 1941 as a radio address to the British Association for the Advancement of Science. The recording was apparently made in America, as Einstein never returned to Europe after emigrating from Germany in 1933.

Time travel is a staple of science fiction stories, but is it actually possible? It turns out nature does allow a way of bending time, an exciting possibility suggested by Albert Einstein when he discovered special relativity over one hundred years ago. Colin Stuart imagines where (or, when) this fascinating phenomenon, time dilation, may one day take us.

Albert Einstein 14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955) was a German-born theoretical physicist and philosopher of science. He developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics (alongside quantum mechanics). He is best known in popular culture for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = mc2 (which has been dubbed "the world's most famous equation"). He received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect". The latter was pivotal in establishing quantum theory.
Near the beginning of his career, Einstein thought that Newtonian mechanics was no longer enough to reconcile the laws of classical mechanics with the laws of the electromagnetic field. This led to the development of his special theory of relativity. He realized, however, that the principle of relativity could also be extended to gravitational fields, and with his subsequent theory of gravitation in 1916, he published a paper on the general theory of relativity. He continued to deal with problems of statistical mechanics and quantum theory, which led to his explanations of particle theory and the motion of molecules. He also investigated the thermal properties of light which laid the foundation of the photon theory of light. In 1917, Einstein applied the general theory of relativity to model the large-scale structure of the universe.[7]
He was visiting the United States when Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933 and, being Jewish, did not go back to Germany, where he had been a professor at the Berlin Academy of Sciences. He settled in the U.S., becoming an American citizen in 1940.[8] On the eve of World War II, he endorsed a letter to President Franklin D. Roosevelt alerting him to the potential development of "extremely powerful bombs of a new type" and recommending that the U.S. begin similar research. This eventually led to what would become the Manhattan Project. Einstein supported defending the Allied forces, but largely denounced the idea of using the newly discovered nuclear fission as a weapon. Later, with the British philosopher Bertrand Russell, Einstein signed the Russell–Einstein Manifesto, which highlighted the danger of nuclear weapons. Einstein was affiliated with the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, until his death in 1955.

We all know inventor, scientist and all around genius Albert Einstein was one successful guy, but what most of us don't realize is that it took a lot of hard work for him to get there. Einstein was a classic late bloomer and didn't come into the success that we all know him for until he was near middle age. Einstein's success is a story of perseverance and the belief that you have something to contribute to the world, no matter how many times others tell you that you don't. Let's take a look at some of the lessons today's business community can take from the life of one Albert Einstein.
Thinking outside the box
Einstein is well known for his incredible scientific theories that literally invented whole new fields of science, but what made Einstein such an incredible mind around his peers was the fact that he could look at a problem that had baffled scientists for generations and almost immediately look at the problem from a new perspective. He might not come up with the answer right away, but he could break start the journey down a new path. Today, we call this 'thinking outside the box.' While we may never accomplish something so grand, the ability to look at problems from new and interesting perspectives is incredibly valuable in today's workplace. Every day, businesses both big and small take on problems that they have been wrestling with for years, and if you can inject something new into that conversation, you will prove yourself to be an asset your company can't live without.
Don't ever give up
Just like Thomas Edison, success didn't come right away for Albert Einstein. He tried to forward some rough drafts of his scientific theories earlier on in his career, and they were either summarily ignored or brushed off as incomplete or just plain impossible. The truth is that most professors and "experts" who viewed his early work were likely terrified by it or they simply didn't have the capacity to understand it. Instead of giving up, Einstein went back to the drawing board and refined his theories. When he was done, they were simply irrefutable and are now known verbatim by most of the earth's population. This incredible commitment to his work should serve as inspiration to not only businessmen and women, but to anyone who has ever tried and failed at anything. Although we may never have an idea as grand as the ones he did, that doesn't mean we can't impact society with our work if we just try hard enough.
Sense of humor
Probably the best known picture of Einstein features him with his tongue out. It showed that even someone labeled the smartest person in the world can have a sense of humor and not take themselves so seriously. In the highly competitive world of business, it is extremely important to know when to push yourself away from your desk and have a good time. Besides, what good is the good life if you are constantly at work?

Albert Einstein - Theory of General Relativity - FULL AudioBook - Quantum Mechanics - Astrophysics - General relativity, or the general theory of relativity, is the geometric theory of gravitation published by Albert Einstein in 1916 and the current description of gravitation in modern physics. General relativity generalizes special relativity and Newton's law of universal gravitation, providing a unified description of gravity as a geometric property of space and time, or spacetime. In particular, the curvature of spacetime is directly related to the energy and momentum of whatever matter and radiation are present. The relation is specified by the Einstein field equations, a system of partial differential equations.
The predictions of general relativity have been confirmed in all observations and experiments to date. Although general relativity is not the only relativistic theory of gravity, it is the simplest theory that is consistent with experimental data. However, unanswered questions remain, the most fundamental being how general relativity can be reconciled with the laws of quantum physics to produce a complete and self-consistent theory of quantum gravity.
Einstein's theory has important astrophysical implications. For example, it implies the existence of black holes—regions of space in which space and time are distorted in such a way that nothing, not even light, can escape—as an end-state for massive stars.

The brain of physicist Albert Einstein has been a subject of much research and speculation. It was removed within seven and a half hours of his death. The brain has attracted attention because of Einstein's reputation for being one of the foremost geniuses of the 20th century, and apparent regularities or irregularities in the brain have been used to support various ideas about correlations in neuroanatomy with general or mathematical intelligence. Scientific studies have suggested that regions involved in speech and language are smaller, while regions involved with numerical and spatial processing are larger. Other studies have suggested an increased number of glial cells in Einstein's brain

Extraordinary documentary - Inside Einstein's Mind The Enigma of Space and Time - BBC Documentary
The story of the most elegant and powerful theory in science - Albert Einstein's general relativity.
When Einstein presented his formidable theory in November 1915, it turned our understanding of gravity, space and time completely on its head. Over the last 100 years, general relativity has enabled us to trace the origins of the universe to the Big Bang and to appreciate the enormous power of black holes.
To mark the 100th anniversary of general relativity, this film takes us inside the head of Einstein to witness how his idea evolved, giving new insights into the birth of a masterpiece that has become a cornerstone of modern science. This is not as daunting as it sounds - because Einstein liked to think in pictures. The film is a magical visual journey that begins in Einstein's young mind, follows the thought experiments that gave him stunning insights about the physical world, and ultimately reaches the extremes of modern physics.
