North Korea Has Rockets Aimed At U.S. Mainland
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un warned Friday that his rocket forces were ready "to settle accounts with the U.S.," unleashing a new round of bellicose rhetoric after U.S. nuclear-capable B-2 bombers dropped dummy munitions in joint military drills with South Korea.
Kim's warning, and the litany of threats that have preceded it, don't indicate an imminent war. In fact, they're most likely meant t

Most immigrants in the US tend to choose big cities in their pursuit of the American dream, but Arkansas, one of the most rural and poorest states, is attracting a community from an unusual location: the Marshall Islands, in the western Pacific.
A treaty with the US allows the Marshallese to come and go with no visa or work permit and now they will even receive their driving tests in the Marshallese language.
Al Jazeera's John Hendren reports from Springdale.

This video report updates the N. Korean Mainland USA Invasion Attack Plan, that was initially covered and reported upon in late March of 2013.
My initial report on this matter was incomplete with regard to the ritual code present in the event, and as such, I am updating the code to show what was missed back in March of 2013, when I first reported on this matter.
The code shows us relevant ritual code that refers to 9-21, 9-23 and 9-24, future dates when Pope Francis visits the USA and Obama. It is during this time frame that false flag events are suspected.
The final code suggests a 911 event on 9-21 in Hawaii and a follow on 911 event on 9-23 in Austin, Texas. 9-24 has both LA, CA and Washington DC, which shows us two target cities for 9-24, because the code total for both cities is 12 +12, which adds to 24, as in 9-24.
4 Target cities is relevant ritual code, that is offered for your consideration.

South Korea says its northern neighbor has developed compact nuclear warheads that could reach mainland America. Seoul also alleges Pyongyang shows no signs of stopping its nuclear program and has gained access to tons of weapons-grade plutonium.
The South Korean Ministry of Defense published the revelations in a white paper, which states that North Korea has achieved significant technological progress in their attempts to create nuclear warheads for ballistic missiles.
The missiles could allegedly reach mainland America. Pyongyang has carried out a series of tests on long-range missiles, but no signs have been detected that Pyongyang has put such missiles into service, Seoul said.

A successful nuclear test in February and threats of direct attacks on the United States has many taking a second look at how serious a threat North Korea may be.
Pyongyang has just ordered rocket and long-range artillery forces to prepare for a strike on US military bases in Guam, Hawaii, and even the mainland of the United States. While it is dubious that North Korean missiles could actually reach the heart of the US, the Pentagon is taking the threat seriously enough to begin a renewed focus on the Missile Defense program. The Pentagon admitted in a press briefing on March 15 that North Korea has become a threat, "a little bit faster than we expected".
After North Korea's announcement today, China's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hong Lei called for calm on both sides. China is largely seen as the only country that could have any sway over North Korea. And although the Chinese regime has, on the surface, supported UN Security Council sanctions against the North, many question how seriously it has been enforcing them.
Despite threats by North Korea to turn the US into a "sea of fire," South Korea and Japan would be more concerned. Both countries are well within known North Korean missile range.
The latest provocation from North Korea came after South Korea and the US signed a new plan last Friday to defend a possible attack on the South.

wn.com/North Korean Missiles Aimed At US Mainland

North Korea Has Rockets Aimed At U.S. Mainland
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un warned Friday that his rocket forces were ready "to settle accounts with the U.S.," unleashing a new round of bellicose rhetoric...
In fact, they're most likely meant to coerce South Korea into softening its policies, win direct talks and aid from Washington, and strengthen the young leader's credentials and image at home. But the threats from North Korea and rising animosity from the rivals that have followed U.N. sanctions over Pyongyang's Feb. 12 nuclear test do raise worries of a misjudgment leading to a clash.
CBS News correspondent Margaret Brennan says top U.S. officials have classified this as a "serious provocation phase" by Pyongyang, and concerns are focused on the prospect of North Korea firing on South Korea, drawing them -- and possibly the U.S. -- into a cross-border conflict.
Kim "convened an urgent operation meeting" of senior generals just after midnight, signed a rocket preparation plan and ordered his forces on standby to strike the U.S. mainland, South Korea, Guam and Hawaii, state media reported.
Kim said "the time has come to settle accounts with the U.S. imperialists in view of the prevailing situation," according to a report by the North's official Korean Central News Agency.
South Korea's Yonhap news agency quoted military officials in the country as saying there had been "increased activity" at some of the North's missile sites in recent days.
"North Korea's launch sites to fire off mid- and long-range missiles have recently shown increased movement of vehicles and forces," Yonhap quoted one anonymous official as saying. "We are closely watching possibilities of missile launches."
U.S. flies B-2 stealth bombers to South Korea
N. Korea severs last "hotline" with the South
North warns missiles aimed at U.S. mainland
Brennan notes that North Korea is so isolated, there's little intelligence to confirm exactly what weapons are in the regime's arsenal.
Experts believe the country is years away from developing nuclear-tipped missiles that could strike the United States. Many say they've also seen no evidence that Pyongyang has long-range missiles that can hit the U.S. mainland.
Still, there are fears of a localized conflict, such as a naval skirmish in disputed Yellow Sea waters. Such naval clashes have happened three times since 1999. There's also the danger that such a clash could escalate. Seoul has vowed to hit back hard the next time it is attacked.
North Korea's threats are also worrisome because of its arsenal of short- and mid-range missiles that can hit targets in South Korea and Japan. Seoul is only a short drive from the heavily armed border separating the Koreas.
"The North can fire 500,000 rounds of artillery on Seoul in the first hour of a conflict," analysts Victor Cha and David Kang wrote recently for Foreign Policy magazine. They also note that North Korea has a history of testing new South Korean leaders; President Park Geun-hye took office late last month. "Since 1992, the North has welcomed these five new leaders by disturbing the peace," they wrote.

A U.S. military commander has confirmed that North Korea secured the technology to make nuclear warheads small enough to be mounted atop a long-range missile which can reach the U.S. mainland.
Adm. William Gortney, commander of the U.S. Northern Command, said at a regular press briefing by the Defense Department on Tuesday that North Korea has technology to produce a miniaturized nuclear warhead to be loaded onthe KN-08 ballistic missile. Late last month, U.S. Strategic Command Adm. Cecil Haney made similar comments.
Meanwhile, a senior U.S. State Department official stressed that the advanced Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile system is a 'critical capability' in defending against North Korean missile threats.
Frank Rose, assistant secretary of state for arms control, made the remarks at a seminar in Washington. However, Rose said Washington has neither made any decision nor begun negotiations with Seoul on whether to deploy a THAAD battery to South Korea.

The top U.S. military commander in Korea has painted a vivid picture of the man in charge of North Korea.
In wide-ranging comments on North Korea made to the U.S. Senate Armed Forces Committee, General Curtis Scaparrotti said Kim Jong-un is unpredictable, more dangerous than his father and fully in charge of his regime.
Sohn Jung-in has more. The Commander of U.S. Forces Korea, General Curtis Scaparrotti, says there's no doubt in his mind that Kim Jong-un is the one wielding the real power in North Korea.
Speaking before the Senate Armed Forces Committee on the defense budget for 2015,... General Scaparrotti said "Kim Jong-un appointed himself as the supreme leader through the constitution," and that Kim was fully in charge.
He added that Kim Jong-un is also less predictable than his father, former leader Kim Jong-il,... and therefore poses a greater threat.
On the execution of Jang Song-thaek, the general said he believed Kim Jong-un planned it out to show off his power, and that it was not an indication of instability in the country.
He said China was disappointed by the execution, but that Kim was an independent actor with a mind of his own, and would likely go his own way, regardless of what Bejing thinks or says.
When asked whether he agreed with the assessment that North Korea is on pace to develop a long-range ballistic missile capable of reaching the U.S. mainland by 2024, General Scaparrotti said yes.
He said, the communist nation possesses SCUD missiles that are able to strike the entire Korean peninsula and U.S. bases in Japan,... and added that it is investing heavily in longer-range missiles with the potential to target the U.S.
The general pointed out that in particular, Kim Jong-un was planning a threat strategy so that his regime can maintain power in the long-run.
Sohn Jung-in, Arirang News.

North Korea has fired a long-range rocket critics see as cover for banned missile test. SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea on Sunday defied international warnings and launched a long-range rocket that the United Nations and others call a cover for a banned test of technology for a missile that could strike the U.S. mainland.
The launch, which South Korean officials confirmed about two hours after an eight-day launch window opened Sunday morning, follows North Korea's widely disputed claim last month to have tested a hydrogen bomb. It will be considered a further provocation by Washington and its allies and likely draw more sanctions and condemnation from the United Nations.
North Korean rocket and nuclear tests are seen as crucial steps toward the North's ultimate goal of a nuclear armed long-range missile arsenal. North Korea says its nuclear and missile programs are necessary to defend itself against what it calls decades of U.S. hostility.
Leader Kim Jong Un has overseen two of the North's four nuclear tests and three long-range rocket tests since taking over after the death of his father, dictator Kim Jong Il, in late 2011. North Korea says its rocket launches are satellite missions, but the U.S., South Korea and others say they are a covert test of ballistic missile technology. The U.N. Security Council prohibits North Korea from nuclear and ballistic missile activity.
The Jan. 6 nuclear test has led to another push in the U.N. to tighten sanctions. North Korea in 2013 also did a nuclear test and then unnerved the international community by orchestrating an escalating campaign of bombast, including threats to fire nuclear missiles at the U.S. and Seoul.
The Korean border is the world's most heavily armed and the rivals' navies occasionally trade gunfire near a disputed boundary in the Yellow Sea.
North Korea has spent decades trying to develop operational nuclear weapons.
It is thought to have a small arsenal of atomic bombs and an impressive array of short- and medium-range missiles. But it has yet to demonstrate that it can produce nuclear bombs small enough to place on a missile, or missiles that can reliably deliver their bombs to faraway targets.
Still, the North's nuclear tests and steadily improving long-range rocket launches push its nuclear aims further along.
North Korea has said that plutonium and highly enriched uranium facilities at its main Nyongbyon nuclear complex are in operation.
wn.com/Breaking North Korea Fires Banned Missile That Could Strike The U.S.

Gastineau Channel is a channel between the mainland of the U.S. state of Alaska and Douglas Island in the Alexander Archipelago of southeastern Alaska. It separates Juneau on the mainland side from Douglas (now part of Juneau), on Douglas Island. The first European to sight the channel was Joseph Whidbey early in August 1794, first from the south and later from the west.[1] It was probably named for John Gastineau, an English Civil Engineer and Surveyor. ENGLISH VERSION
Currently, Puerto Rico is going through the worst fiscal crisis in its history. We owe 73 billion dollars to our lenders and we are not generating enough revenue to pay them back, while continuing to provide public services to our people.
To this day, the United States controls all of Puerto Rico's foreign relations, customs, immigration, postal system, communications, radio, television, commerce, transportation, social security, military service, maritime laws, banks, currency, judiciary, tariffs, trade relations, shipping industry and cabotage rights, yet shockingly they continue to avoid their responsibility over Puerto Rico's fiscal crisis.
We know where we have failed, but we are willing to make it right. We're just requesting the same from the U.S. Government:
1. Derogate the Jones Act to allow non-American ships to carry goods between Puerto Rico and the U.S. mainland in order to lower Puerto Rico's shipping costs and give us a real chance of competing in the world economy.
2. Enact for Puerto Rico a Visa Waiver Program similar to the one extended to Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, in order for us to be able to attract visitors, doctors and students from Central and South America, jump starting our tourism industry and being able to compete with neighboring islands.
3. Take an active role in solving our financial crisis, working with our government to define a strategy that will help us meet our responsibility with bond holders and develop a healthy and sustainable economy.
President Barack Obama and Members of Congress: We’re not asking you for money or for pity, we’re just asking you to assume your responsibility and help us get back on our feet.

The PRC and the US resumed trade relations in 1972 and 1973. Direct investment by the US in mainland China covers a wide range of manufacturing sectors, several large hotel projects, restaurant chains, and petrochemicals. US companies have entered agreements establishing more than 20,000 equity joint ventures, contractual joint ventures, and wholly foreign-owned enterprises in mainland China. More than 100 US-based multinationals have projects in mainland China, some with multiple investments. Cumulative US investment in mainland China is valued at $48 billion. The US trade deficit with mainland China exceeded $350 billion in 2006 and was the United States' largest bilateral trade deficit. Some of the factors that influence the U.S. trade deficit with mainland China include:
The strength of the US economy: there has been a shift of low-end assembly industries to mainland China from newly industrialized countries in Asia. Mainland China has increasingly become the last link in a long chain of value-added production. Because US trade data attributes the full value of a product to the final assembler, mainland Chinese value added is overcounted.
US demand for labor-intensive goods exceeds domestic output: the PRC has restrictive trade practices in mainland China, which include a wide array of barriers to foreign goods and services, often aimed at protecting state-owned enterprises. These practices include high tariffs, lack of transparency, requiring firms to obtain special permission to import goods, inconsistent application of laws and regulations, and leveraging technology from foreign firms in return for market access. Mainland China's accession to the World Trade Organization is meant to help address these barriers.
The undervaluation of the Renminbi relative to the US dollar.[96]
Beginning in 2009, the US and China agreed to hold regular high-level talks about economic issues and other mutual concerns by establishing the China-US strategic economic dialogue, which meets biannually. Five meetings have been held, the most recent in December 2008. Economic nationalism seems to be rising in both countries, a point the leaders of the two delegations noted in their opening presentations.[97][98][99] The United States and China have also established the high-level US-China Senior Dialogue to discuss international political issues and work out resolutions.
In September 2009 a trade dispute emerged between China and the United States, which came after the US imposed tariffs of 35 percent on Chinese tire imports. The Chinese commerce minister accused the United States of a "grave act of trade protectionism,"[100] while a USTR spokesperson said the tariff "was taken precisely in accordance with the law and our international trade agreements."[100] Additional issues were raised by both sides in subsequent months.[101][102]
Pascal Lamy cautioned: "The statistical bias created by attributing commercial value to the last country of origin perverts the true economic dimension of the bilateral trade imbalances. This affects the political debate, and leads to misguided perceptions. Take the bilateral deficit between China and the US. A series of estimates based on true domestic content can cut the overall deficit -- which was $252bn in November 2010 -- by half, if not more."

Taiwan after WW2 | US Army & Republic of China Army Prepare for War with China | Documentary
About the History of the Republic of China:
The History of the Republic of China begins after the Qing dynasty in 1912, when the formation of the Republic of China as a constitutional republic put an end of 4,000 years of Imperial rule.
In 1928, the Republic was nominally unified under the Kuomintang - Chinese Nationalist Party - after the Northern Expedition, and was in the early stages of industrialization and modernization when it was caught in the conflicts among the Kuomintang government, the Communist Party of China, (founded 1921), which was converted into a nationalist party, local warlords and the Empire of Japan. Most nation-building efforts were stopped during the full-scale Second Sino-Japanese War (aka the War of Resistance) against Japan from 1937 to 1945, and later the widening gap between the Kuomintang and the Chinese Communist Party made a coalition government impossible, causing the resumption of the Chinese Civil War, in 1946, shortly after the Japanese surrender to the Americans and the Western Allies in September 1945.
A series of political, economic and military missteps led to the Kuomintang's defeat and its retreat to Taiwan (formerly Formosa) in 1949, where it established an authoritarian one-party state continuing under Generalissimo / President Chiang Kai-shek, that considered itself to be the continuing sole legitimate ruler of all of China, referring to the Communist government or "regime" as illegitimate, a so-called "Peoples' Republic of China" declared in Beijing (Peking) by Mao Tse Tung in 1949, as "mainland China", "Communist China", or "Red China". Although supported for many years, even decades by many nations especially with the support of the United States who established a 1954 Mutual Defense treaty, as the decades passed, since political liberalization began in the late 1960s, the Peoples' Republic of China was able after a constant yearly campaign in the United Nations to finally get approval in 1971, to take the seat for "China" in the General Assembly, and more importantly, be seated as one of the five permanent members of the Security Council. After recovering from this shock of rejection by the world community, after the liberalization at home in the late 1970s from the Nationalist authoritarian government and following the death of Chiang Kai-shek, the Republic of China has transformed itself into a multiparty, representative democracy on Taiwan and even given more representation to those native Taiwanese, whose ancestors predate the 1949 mainland evacuation.
Taiwan–United States military relations:
In 1949, the Republic of China Armed Forces and the Kuomintang suffered a major defeat in the Chinese Civil War, forcing the Government of the Republic of China to relocate to Taiwan. This allowed the Communist Party of China to declare the establishment of a new Chinese state: the People's Republic of China. As the Kuomintang was establishing a "provisional" base in Taiwan, the party began to plan and threaten counterattacks on the mainland, hoping to retake the Chinese mainland.
With the fall of the mainland, the United States largely wrote off the Kuomintang and Chiang Kai-Shek as incompetent, corrupt leaders who deservedly lost and was prepared to grant diplomatic recognition to the People's Republic of China. All of this changed rapidly when the People's Republic of China intervened in the Korean War, which ruined any chance of normalizing relations with Washington for years. The victorious Battle of Guningtou by the Republic of China forces against the communist forces helped to boost morale in the Republic of China Army and diminished any chance by the communist forces to take Taiwan. Subsequently, the United States Seventh Fleet started to patrol the Taiwan Straits. By the 1950s, Sino-American Mutual Defense Treaty was signed and US provided Military Assistance and Support to the Republic of China forces. The US Army maintained a garrison force in Taiwan until its withdrawal in 1979. The Sino-American Mutual Defense Treaty was replaced by Taiwan Relations Act after 1979.

"On the activities of the 1st and 6th Marine Divisions on the island. A "Corsair" plane lays a smoke screen to protect tanks crossing a field north of Naha under Japanese artillery fire. Marines follow tanks across open terrain, and mop up Japanese hillside positions after the tanks' flamethrowers have been used. Artillery bombards Shuri. Heavy rains bury vehicles, artillery, and munitions in water. Food and ammunition is passed up a hill via a human chain; supplies dropped from "Corsairs" are collected. Bazookas are used against Japanese strong points to open a road west of Shuri. Demolished Shuri Castle is inspected and corpses examined. Artillery bombards Naha; Marines move into its outskirts firing rifles and machine guns; tank guns reduce enemy strongholds. Marines cross a pontoon bridge, laid over mud flats, and enter a suburb of Naha. Naval guns, mortar fire, and low-level bombing blast the city. Pack charges are used to detonate buildings during house-to-house fighting. An unopposed landing is made below Naha; Marines advance inland to high ground, carry their wounded to the rear, clean out caves with flamethrowers and satchel charges, and capture Naha airstrip. Tank flamethrowers and phosphorus grenades are used to fire cane fields driving Japanese from cover. Planes drop firebombs into wooded areas. Japanese POW's, stripped to their loin cloths, are marched to the rear."
Public domain film from the US National Archives, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied.
The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original).

The Battle of Okinawa, codenamed Operation Iceberg, was fought on the Ryukyu Islands of Okinawa and was the largest amphibious assault in the Pacific War of World War II. The 82-day-long battle lasted from early April until mid-June 1945. After a long campaign of island hopping, the Allies were approaching Japan, and planned to use Okinawa, a large island only 340 mi (550 km) away from mainland Japan, as a base for air operations on the planned invasion of Japanese mainland (coded Operation Downfall). Four divisions of the U.S. 10th Army (the 7th, 27th, 77th, and 96th) and two Marine Divisions (the 1st and 6th) fought on the island. Their invasion was supported by naval, amphibious, and tactical air forces.
The battle has been referred to as the "typhoon of steel" in English, and tetsu no ame ("rain of steel") or tetsu no bōfū ("violent wind of steel") in Japanese. The nicknames refer to the ferocity of the fighting, the intensity of kamikaze attacks from the Japanese defenders, and to the sheer numbers of Allied ships and armored vehicles that assaulted the island. The battle resulted in the highest number of casualties in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Based on Okinawan government sources, mainland Japan lost 77,166 soldiers, who were either killed or committed suicide, and the Allies suffered 14,009 deaths (with an estimated total of more than 65,000 casualties of all kinds). Simultaneously, 42,000–150,000 local civilians were killed or committed suicide, a significant proportion of the local population. The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki together with the Soviet invasion of Manchuria caused Japan to surrender less than two months after the end of the fighting on Okinawa...

If this were happening anywhere else in the world, Americans would be justifiably horrified:
1 out of every 100 adults are living behind bars in the United States, with 1 in 31 in some sort of correctional control, including prison, jail, parole, and probation.
The United States, with 5% of the world's population, has 25% of the worlds prison population.
Private prisons are operating around the country at the local and state level, and a majority of them include "occupancy requirements mandating that local or state government keep those facilities between 80 and 100 percent full. In other words, whether crime is rising or falling, the state must keep those beds full."
Thousands are serving life sentences for non-violent crimes.
The School to Prison Pipeline is still funneling mostly black and brown children into the juvenile and adult criminal legal systems.
Solitary confinement, defined as torture by the UN, is commonly practiced in both Guantanamo Bay prison and in mainland US prisons.
Police can murder suspects, and then claim they shot themselves in the head and get away with it, even if the suspect is handcuffed behind their back.
You get the picture.
According to Carl Dix, the co-founder (along with Cornel West) of The Stop Mass Incarceration Network, all of this and more are tantamount to genocide. As he tells Dennis Trainor, Jr. in the embedded episode of Acronym TV:
"Genocide is not a final act of putting people in gas chambers (...) Genocide is a process. A process by which groups of people are identified, targeted, demonized, separated, and then as this process goes on, the question of mass killings comes up later. That has been going on in this country. Black people in particular have been historically targeted, demonized, segregated (...) the definition of genocide flowing from the United Nations is when a group of people are put (in whole or in part) in circumstances that make it impossible for them to thrive and survive as a people. That is the situation with Mass Incarceration and all of its consequences in this country."
Joining Carl on the program is Juanita Young. Ms. Young relates her story as the mother of an unarmed young man who was murdered by the NYPD, and how that fuels her life as an anti-police brutality activist.
The two discuss plans for a month of nationwide resistance to Mass incarceration, police terror, repression, and the criminalization of a generation.
The call for an October month of resistance put forth by Dix and Cornel West (and is supported by a growing list of endorsing groups and individuals) states:
"The malignancy of mass incarceration did not arise from a sudden epidemic of crime. Nor did it result from people making poor personal choices. Instead it arose from cold political calculations made in response to the massive and heroic struggle for the rights of Black and other minority peoples that took place in the 1960's and 70's, and in response to the enormous economic and social changes brought about by globalized production. This cancer of mass incarceration has been, from the beginning, nothing but a new Jim Crow in place of the old one. Like the old Jim Crow, it drew on, fed off and reinforced the deep-seated roots of the racism that grew up with slavery. Like the old Jim Crow, it has been, from the beginning, unjustifiable, utterly immoral and thoroughly illegitimate...
It is not enough to oppose this in the privacy of your own conscience or the company of like-minded people. It is not enough to curse this out, but then tell yourself nothing can be done. If you live your life under this threat, you MUST act. If you understand how wrong this is and how much it devastates the lives of so many millions, you MUST act."

Research Seminar: The Puerto Rican Diaspora to the United States: A Postcolonial Migration? (2009)
Presenter: Jorge Duany, University of Puerto Rico
In 1953, the General Assembly of the United Nations removed Puerto Rico from its list of "non-self-governing territories." However, the exact nature of the relationship between Puerto Rico and the United States has been intensely disputed since the creation of the Commonwealth. Moreover, Puerto Ricans in the United States have been dubbed "colonial immigrants" because they are U.S. citizens who can travel freely between the Island and the mainland but are not fully covered by the American Constitution on the Island. This paper examines the impact of colonial and "postcolonial" policies on the massive displacement of the Puerto Rican population to the U.S. mainland after World War II. In particular, it surveys the historical origins, settlement patterns, community organization, identity politics, and cultural practices of the Puerto Rican diaspora. In the end, the Puerto Rican diaspora occupies an ambiguous space between colonial and postcolonial population movements. This ambiguity is the long-term historical consequence of the oxymoronic legal doctrine declaring that Puerto Rico "belongs to but is not a part of the United States."

And now, by popular demand, Part 2 of my famous Hornet EAS scenario!
Script written by my good friend CrazyVolkov
Several weeks after the emergence of massive swarms of an unusual strain of the Japanese Giant Hornet across the mainland United States, several hundred thousand people have died, with many more in the hospital clinging to their lives. While many are still wondering how the hornets were able to arrive to the US mainland so quickly, the greater concern is getting the surviving population to safe shelter before the situation gets further out of hand.
In an attempt to calm the public and keep them safe from the coming onslaught, the US military has been dispatched to evacuate people in stricken areas, as well as cities and towns that are in immediate danger from being overrun.
Entomologists and scientists working with the military and FEMA have determined that another large wave of hornets will soon overtake segments of the Midwestern United States, with Tennessee and Kentucky in the immediate line of fire. In preparation for this, the government issues a message regarding an impending nation-wide operation with aid from the military to safeguard as many people as they can...

Japan-US Relations: the Role of Japanese Americans
The 442nd Regiment of the US Army, composed entirely of the Japanese-American soldiers, became "the most decorated unit in the US military history” during the World War II, but the Japanese-Americans living in the mainland US were sent to the internment camps at the same time. The history of the Japanese-Americans is not well known in Japan. This session will shed light on somewhat underrated roles played by Japanese-Americans in both historical and contemporary contexts of Japan-US relations.

http://thefilmarchive.org/
The History of the Republic of China begins after the Qing Dynasty in 1912, when the formation of the Republic of China put an end to over two thousand years of Imperial rule. The Qing Dynasty, also known as the Manchu Dynasty, ruled from 1644 to 1912. Since the republic's founding, it has experienced many tribulations as it was dominated by numerous warlords and fragmented by foreign powers.
In 1928, the republic was nominally unified under the Kuomintang (KMT), or the Chinese Nationalist Party, after the Northern Expedition, and was in the early stages of industrialization and modernization when it was caught in the conflicts between the Kuomintang government, the Communist Party of China which was converted into a nationalist party, remnant warlords, and Japan. Most nation-building efforts were stopped during the full-scale War of Resistance against Japan from 1937 to 1945, and later the widening gap between the Kuomintang and the Chinese Communist Party made a coalition government impossible, causing the resumption of the Chinese Civil War.
A series of political, economic, and military missteps led the Kuomintang to defeat and retreat to Taiwan in 1949, establishing an authoritarian one-party state that considered itself to be the sole legitimate ruler of all of China. However, since political liberalization began in the late 1970s, the Republic of China has transformed itself into a multiparty, representative democracy on Taiwan.
At the end of 1943, the Cairo Declaration was issued, including among its clauses that all territories of China, including Formosa (Taiwan), that Japan had occupied would be returned to Republic of China. This declaration was reiterated in the Potsdam Declaration, issued in 1945. Later that year, World War II ended, and Japan accepted the Potsdam Declaration, surrendering unconditionally. The Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces commanded that the Japanese forces in Taiwan surrender to the government of the Republic of China.
On October 25, 1945 in Taipei Zhongshan Hall, the Japanese government in Taiwan surrendered to the representative of the Republic of China, Chen Yi, the Republic of China formally receiving Taiwan. In 1951, Japan formally signed the Treaty of San Francisco, but, due to the unclear situation of the Chinese civil war, the peace treaty did not clearly indicate to whom Taiwan's sovereignty belonged. In the second article of the 1952 Treaty of Taipei, following the Treaty of San Francisco, Japan reiterated its abandonment of sovereignty of Taiwan, the Pescadores, the Spratlys and the Paracels.
The People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (ROC) continued a state of war until 1979. In October 1949 a PRC attempt to take the ROC controlled island of Kinmen was thwarted in the Battle of Kuningtou halting the PLA advance towards Taiwan. The Communists' other amphibious operations of 1950 were more successful: they led to the Communist conquest of Hainan Island in April 1950, capture of Wanshan Islands off the Guangdong coast (May--August 1950) and of Zhoushan Island off Zhejiang (May 1950).
In June 1949 the ROC declared a "closure" of all mainland China ports and its navy attempted to intercept all foreign ships. The closure covered from a point north of the mouth of Min river in Fujian province to the mouth of the Liao river in Manchuria. Since mainland China's railroad network was underdeveloped, north-south trade depended heavily on sea lanes. ROC naval activity also caused severe hardship for mainland China fishermen.
After losing mainland China, a group of approximately 12,000 KMT soldiers escaped to Burma and continued launching guerrilla attacks into south China. Their leader, General Li Mi, was paid a salary by the ROC government and given the nominal title of Governor of Yunnan. Initially, the United States supported these remnants and the Central Intelligence Agency provided them with aid. After the Burmese government appealed to the United Nations in 1953, the U.S. began pressuring the ROC to withdraw its loyalists. By the end of 1954, nearly 6,000 soldiers had left Burma and Li Mi declared his army disbanded. However, thousands remained, and the ROC continued to supply and command them, even secretly supplying reinforcements at times.
During the Korean War, some captured Communist Chinese soldiers, many of whom were originally KMT soldiers, were repatriated to Taiwan rather than mainland China. A KMT guerrilla force continued to operate cross-border raids into south-western China in the early 1950s. The ROC government launched a number of air bombing raids into key coastal cities of mainland China such as Shanghai.

Will the U.S. Go to War with China? Trade Deficit, Financial Markets, Lobby, Economics (1997)

Chinese--U.S. relations (or Sino-American relations) refers to international relations between the United States of America (U.S.A.) and the People's Republic of China (P.R.C.) Most analysts characterize present Chinese-American relations as being complex and multifaceted. The United States and China are usually neither allies nor enemies; the U.S. government does not regard China as an adversary but as a competitor in some areas and a partner in others. The Qing Dynasty opened the first modern official diplomatic relations in late 19th century, After Xinhai revolution, newly formed Republic of China maintained diplomatic ties with the USA. During the Second World War, China was a close ally of the United States. At the founding of the communist-ruled People's Republic of China in 1949, the USA did not immediately recognize the newly established government of China. Until January 1979, the United States recognized the Republic of China on Taiwan as the legitimate government of China, and did not maintain diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China on the mainland. In the midst of the Cold War, the Sino-Soviet split provided an opening for the US to establish ties with mainland China and use it as a counter to the Soviet Union and its influence. It was after January 1979 that the USA government switched recognition from Taipei to Beijing, as well as the diplomatic relations.
As of 2011, the United States has the world's largest economy and China the second largest. China has the world's largest population and the United States has the third largest after India. The two countries are the two largest consumers of motor vehicles and oil, and the two greatest emitters of greenhouse gases.
Relations between China and the United States have been generally stable with some periods of tension, most notably after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, which removed a common enemy and ushered in a world characterized by American dominance. There are also concerns relating to human rights in the People's Republic of China and the political status of Taiwan. There are constant tides and strides in the Sino-U.S. relations, and diplomatic efforts were taken to maintain the positive direction in this international relationship, such as James R. Lilley around 1990s.
While there are some tensions in American-Chinese relations, there are also many stabilizing factors. The PRC and the United States are major trade partners and have common interests in the prevention and suppression of terrorism and nuclear proliferation. The U.S.-China trade relationship is the second largest in the world.
China is also the largest foreign creditor for the United States. China's challenges and difficulties are mainly internal, and there is a desire to maintain stable relations with the United States. The American-Chinese relationship has been described by top leaders and academics as the world's most important bilateral relationship of the 21st century. As the countries become more and more intertwined, greater numbers of Chinese and Americans have experience visiting, studying, working, and living in the others' country. Still, the role played by the media in shaping views remains large. In recent years, public opinion polling and other scholarship has sharpened our understanding of how images and attitudes in the two countries are formed and how those influence policies.
In 2012, the PRC criticized Obama's new defense strategy, which was widely viewed as aiming to isolate China in the East Asian region, for assuming a provocative and threatening posture in the Pacific and escalating America's containment strategy.[76] Obama is looking to increase US military influence in the area with a rotating presence of forces in friendly countries.[77]
In March 2012 China suddenly began cutting back its purchases of oil from Iran, along with some signs on sensitive security issues like Syria and North Korea, showed some coordination with the Obama administration.
A PLA-affiliated hacking group based outside Shanghai has been responsible for more than 100 attacks on United States government departments, American companies, and journalist website, according to an American computer security firm, Mandiant. A national intelligence estimate by multiple American intelligence agencies concur with the report. A White House official said that the United States will be "more-aggressive" in responding to cyberwarfare amd cyberespionage conducted by the Chinese government. Cyberespionage originating from China has also been reported by companies in France and Germany. China responded by saying that the accusations of hacking are flawed and unreliable, and accused the United States of being the origin of attacks against Chinese military websites.

Dozens of university students are arrested for demonstrating against a tuition hike. But Puerto Rico Governor Luis Fortuno remains steadfast in charging students more to help close a $3.2 billion budget gap.
The students' fight is representative of a larger debate in Puerto Rico, and in the US, about how to solve a severe budget crisis - and at what cost.
Fortuno, a hawkish fiscal conservative, laid off 20,000 government workers in 2009, and suspended all labour negotiations, just like governors on the US mainland are doing today. But two years later Puerto Rico's labour unions are still scrambling to reorganise a largely unemployed population - nearly 17 per cent.
Puerto Rico is in its fifth year of recession, and expected to be the world's slowest growing economy if its situation does not improve. At question is the degree of economic and social responsibility the US has to its commonwealth state.
Fault Lines travels to Puerto Rico to investigate America's legacy as the island's ruler, and the harsh economic policies that are being imposed on the people who live there.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain,[nb 5] is a sovereign state in Europe. Lying off the north-western coast of the European mainland, the country includes the island of Great Britain—a term also applied loosely to refer to the whole country—the north-eastern part of the island of Ireland and many smaller islands.[7] Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK that shares a land border with another state (the Republic of Ireland).[nb 6] Apart from this land border, the UK is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, with the North Sea to its east, the English Channel to its south and the Celtic Sea to its south-southwest. The Irish Sea lies between Great Britain and Ireland. The UK has an area of 93,800 square miles (243,000 km2), making it the 80th-largest sovereign state in the world and the 11th-largest in Europe.
The United Kingdom is the 22nd-most populous country, with an estimated 64.5 million inhabitants. It is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of governance. Its capital city is London, an important global city and financial centre with an urban population of 10,310,000, the fourth-largest in Europe and second-largest in the European Union. The current monarch—since 6 February 1952—is Queen Elizabeth II. The UK consists of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The latter three have devolved administrations, each with varying powers, based in their capitals, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Belfast, respectively. The small nearby islands of Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man are not part of the United Kingdom, being Crown dependencies with the British Government responsible for defence and international representation.
The relationships among the countries of the United Kingdom have changed over time. Wales was annexed by the Kingdom of England under the Acts of Union of 1536 and 1543. A treaty between England and Scotland resulted in 1707 in a unified Kingdom of Great Britain, which merged in 1801 with the Kingdom of Ireland to form the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. In 1922, five-sixths of Ireland seceded from the country, leaving the present formulation of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The UK has fourteen Overseas Territories. These are the remnants of the British Empire which, at its height in the 1920s, encompassed almost a quarter of the world's land mass and was the largest empire in history. British influence can be observed in the language, culture, and legal systems of many of its former colonies.
The United Kingdom is a developed country and has the world's fifth-largest economy by nominal GDP and tenth-largest economy by purchasing power parity. The UK is considered to have a high-income economy and is categorised as very high in the Human Development Index, currently ranking 14th in the world. It was the world's first industrialised country and the world's foremost power during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The UK remains a great power with considerable economic, cultural, military, scientific, and political influence internationally. It is a recognised nuclear weapons state and its military expenditure ranks fifth or sixth in the world. The UK has been a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council since its first session in 1946. It has been a member state of the European Union (EU) and its predecessor, the European Economic Community (EEC), since 1973; it is also a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Council of Europe, the G7, the G8, the G20, NATO, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the World Trade Organization (WTO)...

In this episode of the Keiser Report, Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert, back in the London studio, have brought Paul Schulte back with them from Hong Kong. Paul is an author, analyst and professor, who debunks the myths in the Western media about mainland China and how it is that Chris Patten, the former governor of Hong Kong, set in motion the problems we see today in the streets of the former British dependent territory. In the second half, Max speaks to WilliamBanzai7, the artist for the financial apocalypse now, who features on Zerohedge.com. They discuss the Umbrella Revolution and what inspires his art.
