L'intolérance au lactose du lait et l'allergie aux protéines de lait impliquent des mécanismes totalement différents et ne doivent pas être confondus.
La prévalence de l'allergie aux protéines de lait de vache n'a pas varié depuis trente ans. Elle est comprise entre 1 et 4% de la population pédiatrique, selon que l'on s'intéresse à des nourrissons de familles à terrain atopique ou non. Mais surtout, cette allergie est rarissime chez l'adulte (elle guérit dans 91% des cas avant 8 ans).
Le traitement repose sur l'éviction du lait et des produits laitiers (tant que l'enfant est allergique). L'enfant est nourri avec des formules à base d'hydrolysats extensifs de protéines de lait. On recherche ensuite l'apparition de la tolérance en essayant d'introduire très progressivement des protéines de lait (exercice réalisé en milieu hospitalier).
Chez l'adulte, il ne faut pas faire confiance aux "tests d'intolérance" qui recherchent la présence d'anticorps IgG. Les anticorps IgG ne sont pas liés à l'allergie alimentaire (contrairement aux IgE). Il faut savoir que nous fabriquons tous des anticorps IgG aux aliments, "cela fait partie du processus de tolérance".

Vautrin is a character from the novels of French writer Honoré de Balzac in the La Comédie humaine series. His real name is Jacques Collin. He appears in the novels Le Père Goriot (Father Goriot, 1834/35) under the name Vautrin, and in Illusions perdues (Lost illusions, 1837–43) and Splendeurs et misères des courtisanes (Scenes from a Courtesan's Life, 1838–44), the sequel of Illusions perdues, under the name of Abbé Carlos Herrera. In prison, he got the nickname Trompe-la-Mort (Dodgedeath), because he manages to avoid the death sentence repeatedly.
By the time the Comédie humaine series begins, Jacques Collin is an escaped convict and criminal mastermind fleeing from the police. The character first appears in the La Comédie humaine series using the name of Vautrin, so he is usually referred to in literary criticism under this name. Balzac was inspired to the character by Eugène François Vidocq (1775–1857) a former criminal who later became chief of the Paris police.
Little is known about Collin's early life. From the novels it can be gathered that he is born in or around 1779 and that he worked as an apprentice in a bank; a position his aunt Jacqueline had obtained for him. In the first decade of the 19th century he first came into contact with the criminal underworld. When a young Italian soldier that Collin was interested in committed a forgery, Collin took the responsibility and was sentenced to five years' imprisonment in 1810. Several attempted escapes have increased the sentence to 20 years by 1818, when the first novel that includes him takes place.

Wilhelmina (Minnie) Vautrin (September 27, 1886 – May 14, 1941) was an American missionary renowned for saving the lives of many women at the Ginling Girls College in Nanjing, China, during the Nanking Massacre.
Minnie Vautrin was born in Secor, Illinois. She was hard working and spent much of her childhood and teen years earning money to attend college. At 17, she attended Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. She then graduated from the University of Illinois. She began a career in teaching, starting with high school in LeRoy, Illinois.
In 1912, Vautrin made her way to China as a missionary and teacher. During her first few years there she helped found a girls school in Luchowfu. After her first furlough, she returned and helped build and found Ginling Girls College in Nanjing, where she eventually took over as Master of Studies.
When the Japanese army invaded Battle of Nanjing in December 1937, she and the other foreigners in the city, including John Rabe, worked to protect the civilians in the Nanking Safety Zone. Ginling Girls College became a haven of refuge, at times harboring up to 10,000 women in a college designed to support between 200 and 300. With only her wits and the use of an American flag, Vautrin was largely able to repel incursions into her college.

L'intolérance au lactose du lait et l'allergie aux protéines de lait impliquent des mécanismes totalement différents et ne doivent pas être confondus.
La prévalence de l'allergie aux protéines de lait de vache n'a pas varié depuis trente ans. Elle est comprise entre 1 et 4% de la population pédiatrique, selon que l'on s'intéresse à des nourrissons de familles à terrain atopique ou non. Mais surtout, cette allergie est rarissime chez l'adulte (elle guérit dans 91% des cas avant 8 ans).
Le traitement repose sur l'éviction du lait et des produits laitiers (tant que l'enfant est allergique). L'enfant est nourri avec des formules à base d'hydrolysats extensifs de protéines de lait. On recherche ensuite l'apparition de la tolérance en essayant d'introduire très progressivement des protéines de lait (exercice réalisé en milieu hospitalier).
Chez l'adulte, il ne faut pas faire confiance aux "tests d'intolérance" qui recherchent la présence d'anticorps IgG. Les anticorps IgG ne sont pas liés à l'allergie alimentaire (contrairement aux IgE). Il faut savoir que nous fabriquons tous des anticorps IgG aux aliments, "cela fait partie du processus de tolérance".
