President Barack Obama holds up Golden State Warrior basketball jersey given to him by team members during a ceremony in the East Room of the White House in Washington, Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, where he honored the 2015 NBA Champions.
Of the many fruits of winning a championship, one of the top ones has to be meeting the President of the United States. Take in the many splendors of the nation’s capital when you arrive at Washington, D.C.
Your Washington, D.C. tour should start at the National Mall, where you’ll find monuments, memorials, and government buildings instead of tons of shopping. If you’d like to get around town easily but don’t want to rent a car, the Capital Bikeshare program will let you cruise around the city without wasting gas or getting stuck in traffic.
Check out the Watergate Hotel and Kennedy Center when you stop at Foggy Bottom, then move on to Georgetown, the oldest district in D.C. It’s filled with 18th-century buildings and, of course, the university itself. After a stop at the National Cathedral, make your way to the Smithsonian National Zoo, the perfect stop for the young and the young at heart.
If you’re feeling the need to channel your inner 007, go to the International Spy Museum, and learn about the covert operations and intelligence agencies that have shaped the world we live in. Of course, you can’t enjoy any Washington, D.C., tourism without admiring the White House, so make sure that’s on your list too.

The White House recently invited travel bloggers to attend the White House Travel Blogger Summit on Study Abroad and Global Citizenship which was held on December 9, 2014. When I heard rumors of the top 100 travel bloggers being invited to the White House for this prestigious event, I asked to see the list of the Top 100 Travel Bloggers which was not necessarily the same as the White House invitee list. However the Top 100 Travel Bloggers List did not include one Black or African American Travel Blogger. Upon further investigation as to which bloggers of color received an invite to this ground-breaking travel promotion event, it was revealed there were no Black or African American Travel Bloggers invited to this White House Travel Blogger Summit. I stated to the travel blogging community of whom are predominantly white that the list lacked Black People. Their responses were that Black Travel Bloggers lack the statistics and influence of White Travel Bloggers. We did not measure up to their metrics for the Top 100 Travel Bloggers List. Some of the bloggers inquired as to whom should be included on the list this verifying stats. I mentioned some top influential Black Travel Bloggers that I know personally as I don’t have stats of their readership available. Despite suggestions of possible candidates, not one Black Travel Blogger was present. The travel blogging community encourages black travel bloggers to keep trying, work harder and maybe next year you will make it. This group also stated that none of the black travel bloggers has the reach level of influence of Johnny Jet or Nomadic Matt. We pointed out to this travel blogging community that Blacks desire to learn about travel from people who look like them. Traveling while Black is an experience that can only be shared by a Black person. Despite a very heated debated Black Travel Bloggers were snubbed by the travel blogging community and not invited to the White House Travel Blogger Summit. This is unacceptable from a travel community group of people who are suppose to have a multicultural viewpoint from their travel experiences.

http://bookinghunter.com
Washington, D.C., formally the District of Columbia and commonly referred to as Washington, "the District", or simply D.C., is the capital of the United States. On July 16, 1790, the Residence Act approved the creation of a capital district located along the Potomac River on the country's East Coast. As permitted by the U.S. Constitution, the District is under the exclusive jurisdiction of the United States Congress and is therefore not a part of any U.S. state.
The most important places to visit in Washington, D.C., are: The White House (symbolically the most important building of the country, US Presidents have lived and worked here for more than 200 years), Washington Monument (dominating the Washington DC skyline and dedicated to the first US President George Washington), The Capitol (a remarkable neoclassical landmark. Recognized around the world, this is where the US Senate and House of Representatives meet), National Cathedral (it is the most well known US cathedral. This beautiful building has been the site for many national memorial services), Supreme Court (among the country's most important institutions, you can take a tour to learn about its history and inner workings), Lincoln Memorial (dedicated to Abraham Lincoln, 16th US President and a great leader. Completed in 1922, it is modeled after Greek temples), Library of Congress (it is the largest library in the world. The magnificent building houses approximately 90 million archives materials), Jefferson Memorial (it is dedicated to Thomas Jefferson, third US President and one of the Founding Fathers. The memorial is modeled after Rome's Pantheon) and many more.
If you want to save time and money, the most important Washington travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

If you’re in Ireland during the summer and are looking for a place to spend a quiet, relaxing afternoon, take a tour of Bantry House. This extraordinary estate is closed during the winter, so if you’re planning to visit, make sure you plan your trip for the spring or summer.
Bantry House perches over Bantry Bay in County Cork, Ireland. This onetime small home grew exponentially after Richard White purchased the land in 1765; through his careful expansion, the estate eventually surpassed 80,000 acres. It remained in the White family throughout its colorful history, including a five-year stint as a hospital during the Irish Civil War, and today it has been converted into a charming bed and breakfast and tea room.
Bantry House sightseeing includes a trip through some of the estate’s gardens. Explore terraces, rows of shrubs, and hedges, many of which overlook Bantry Bay. A tour of Bantry House’s interior is much like wandering into a museum, as the house is loaded with artwork, antiques, and other decorations. Many of these items date back to Viscount Berehaven, who traveled extensively through Europe with his wife during the 1820s and 1830s. Bantry House isn’t all antiques and art, though; on Fridays, you can peruse local produce and potential souvenirs at the Bantry Market.

What to Do when your Bored! Barcelona Travel Guide! I show you what to do when your bored at home or on vacation. Don't spend all your time on a computer. There is so many fun things to do when bored. Just step outside and explore the world. We filmed this video when we traveled to Barcelona - So it's a tiny Barcelona Travel Guide, travel vlog.
http://sarabeautycorner.com/
This what to do when you're bored video was filmed in Barcelona so you will also see a bit of Barcelona travel guide and tips.
A fun thing to do when you're bored is going to the park. Instead of being at home on a computer you can spend a few hours strolling through your nearest park. Take with you a friend or go alone. The fresh air and a bit of activity makes wonders for our body and soul. When in Barcelona we visited park Guell.
What is better than a day in the amusement park? I love visiting these fantasy places when I have the opportunity. Not a big fan of scary roller coasters though. In the video you can enjoy the whole Shamballa Port Aventura coaster ride. The fastest, tallest roller coaster in Europe.
Few things make me more relaxed than spending time on the beach. Listening to the waves and the seagulls while reading a good book. Is there anything better? We had amazing few hours on the Barcelona beach, which is huge and sandy – just how we like it, right?
An awesome thing to when bored is going shopping with friends. This doesn't mean that you need to spend a ton of money. I actually never buy that much when going shopping. To me the important part is hanging with friends, boyfriend or my mom, while walking from a store to store. While shopping in Barcelona we observed some awesome architecture like La Pedrera and House Batllo.
Whether you are in your home town or on a trip, sightseeing is a great thing to do when bored. Every city is special and full of interesting sights. So take a walk around, visit a gallery or a museum.
One of my favorite things to do when bored is visiting the local farmers market. Barcelona's biggest market is called la Bouqueria. The selection of sweets, fruits and juices was amazing and I had to grab a fruit cup. My mouth still water when I think of it.
I love trying out new recipes when I am bored. Travel somewhere far by cooking a traditional meal of that country. You can learn so much about the other cultures through the food. So go ahead, cook something special today.
If you are an animal lover you love visiting a zoo or an aquarium, right? We went to Barcelona aquarium and admired small and big sea animals, even sharks. Learning something new about our planet, animals and plants is always a time well spent.
Probably the best thing you can do when bored is do some sports. Activity is vital to keep us energized and healthy. So go out for a run or play a team sport like football with friends.
Instead of spending all your free time on a computer in your room, try to go outside from time to time. There's so many exciting activities waiting for you!

Take a tour of Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC, United States -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
The Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. can sometimes be lost among the taller, older monuments in the city.
Directly south of the White House on the basin of the Potomac River, this site is dedicated to America's third president, Thomas Jefferson.
The memorial was finished around 1943 and dedicated by then-president Franklin Roosevelt.
The design took inspiration from the Pantheon and Jefferson's own Rotunda at the University of Virginia.
The interior features a bronze statue of Jefferson and quotes from his greatest works, including the Declaration of Independence.
The numerous cherry blossom trees around the memorial were dedicated by the Japanese people in 1912.
The memorial is open 24 hours a day to the people, who Jefferson lived to serve and save from tyranny.

✱ 859 Hotels in Santorini - Lowest Price Guarantee ► http://goo.gl/Y5gqR7
The characteristic white-walled buildings of Santorini are standing upon each other in a happy disorder. The narrow alleys show us a new miracle at each turn. The top of our house is the other house’s balcony, from where there is a perfect view on the dark blue water of the Aegean Sea. The venetian blinds summon the color of the blue sky, the rows of cubic houses are sometimes broken by a blue-domed temple or a windmill. The balconies are full of geranium. The smell of gyros is in the air, from the cafes we hear the bouzouki, and the sight of the sunset from the taverns is unforgettable. The sun is scorching, one can smell the salty air and hear the seagulls, while down below the white boats sail towards their unknown destination.

WASHINGTON — President Obama strolled to the podium in the East Room on Thursday afternoon and said he was disappointed that Riley Curry hadn’t joined the Warriors on their championship tour of the White House.
With that, Obama set the tenor of a ceremony filled with blissful reflection on the Warriors’ 2015 title run — including breakout star Riley, the 3-year-old daughter of Stephen Curry — and sprinkled with plenty of playful ribbing along the way.
“It is rare to be in the presence of guys from the greatest team in NBA history,” Obama said, “so we’re pretty lucky today, because we’ve got one of those players in the house: Steve Kerr, from the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.”
The Warriors are 45-4, one game ahead of the pace set by those Bulls, who went on to win an NBA single-season record 72 games. Now the Warriors’ head coach, Kerr averaged 8.4 points on 51.5 percent shooting on that team — Obama’s favorite.
Kerr eschewed a reporter’s question about going after 73 wins this season, saying, “We’re chasing 46. That’s our next goal.”
He also presented the 44th president with a No. 44 Warriors jersey, saying: “Our general manager, Bob Myers … mentioned to me that you’re going to be a free agent at the end of this year. We don’t know if you have anything lined up yet, but…”
Obama chimed in, “I’m ready to go,” as he showcased his left-handed shooting stroke.
In between Obama’s opening remark and his acceptance of the jersey, he showed great knowledge of the Warriors. He called straitlaced Harrison Barnes “The Senator” and empathized with assistant coach Luke Walton, who was awarded zero official wins during his interim stint while Kerr recovered from a spinal fluid leak.
“Luke Walton stepped up and led the team to a ridiculous 39-4 record,” Obama said. “You defied the cynics, you accomplished big things, you racked up a great record, and you don’t get enough credit. I can’t imagine how that feels.”
Obama said Stephen Curry was “clowning” Wednesday night, when he scored 51 against the Wizards and mimicked Curry’s spinning and hopping dance of celebration just long enough to jokingly tell the superstar: “Just settle down.”
The president said Klay Thompson’s jumper is actually prettier than Curry’s shot, but that didn’t pardon Thompson from being the butt of a joke.
“Now, let’s face it, ‘beautiful’ was not how folks described the Warriors for many years,” Obama said. “I may be one of the few who are old enough to remember the last time they were good. Back in the middle of the ’70s was the last time they won a championship, and I was 10 years old. The franchise, it had some good teams and some great players, but it had been struggling.
“One player forgot that there was even a team in Oakland. … That was Klay Thompson, by the way.”
But it wasn’t all wisecracks and crack-ups. Obama talked about the Warriors’ players who sacrificed minutes and statistics for the betterment of the team and how beautiful it is to watch the ball movement on offense and the players seemingly moving as one on defense.
He singled out Andrew Bogut, Andre Iguodala and David Lee, who along with Justin Holiday, joined their former teammates at the White House. Obama said Draymond Green shows “heart over height every single night.”
Green, Iguodala, Thompson and Shaun Livingston were pulled away from the team’s 45-minute tour of the White House on Thursday morning for a special meet-and-greet with Obama in the Oval Office.
They chatted for about 10 minutes, including Obama telling Green, who has 11 technical fouls, to watch his mouth.
“Anybody can take a tour of the White House, but when you’re doing it with President Obama, it symbolizes that you’re a champion,” Green said. “It’s a surreal feeling and a great day. Hopefully, we can come back here again.
“For now, we’re going to cherish this one.”

The Warriors, based in Oakland, California, beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in last year’s NBA finals to win their first championship for 40 years.

Barack Obama welcomed America’s domineering basketball champions into the oval office on Thursday and suggested the experiences of a US president and NBA stars are not so different. Standing 6ft 7ins tall outside the White House after the 10-minute meeting, Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green said he and Obama had compared notes on sports – and life. The 25-year-old power forward said “To think that you would be the president, that’s one of those goals where its like playing in the NBA. It’s so far fetched that you don’t know how you’re going to get there,” adding “So you can dream of it, you can believe it, but what’s the odds of it really happening? The Warriors, based in Oakland, California, beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in last year’s NBA finals to win their first championship for 40 years.

The White House has proposed a clean transportation spending plan, which is intended to be funded through a $10 a barrel fee on oil producers. However, the initiative is unlikely to pass through Republican-controlled Congress.
"By placing a fee on oil, the president's plan creates a clear incentive for private sector innovation to reduce our reliance on oil and at the same time invests in clean energy technologies that will power our future," the White House said in a statement. The Republicans have already severely criticized the initiative. Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, House majority whip, said the House would put down the "absurd" plan.
Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan said the tax was "dead on arrival in Congress" and added it would hurt consumers by raising energy prices.
Jeffrey Zients, Obama's chief economic adviser said the proposed tax would apply to oil that is imported into the US. Zients added that oil pumped in the country for export would not be taxed, ensuring a "level playing field" for domestic producers.
Despite lifting the 40-year ban on oil exports, the US continues to be a large importer of oil with exports accounting only a tiny fraction of crude produced domestically.
America imported 7.4 million barrels per day in November. At the same time, daily domestic production was 9.3 million barrels with exports of just 320,000 barrels per day.
The plan will arrive in Congress next week as part of Obama's last budget submission, indicates the President's long-standing discontent over Congress's inability to pay for transportation improvements.
"For too long there's been strong bipartisan agreement that we need more funding for infrastructure, but that hasn’t been accompanied by the political will on how to pay for it," said Zients.
