Some presentational clips poorly chopped up from an anniversary programme shown around the station's 20th birthday. Preceeded by an example of a promo used for related programming. S4C launched on 1 November 1982, and has had a rather love/hate relationship with its audience almost ever since. 'Ffenestri ymhen ychydig' translates as 'Windows follows shortly'. Recorded from the Moel-y-Parc transmitter in North Wales, which generously sprayed its signal across into the Granada region. S4C Schools Interval - 30th Sept 1986 - DX Quality!
Recorded from a couple of regions away, hence the low quality of this clip, an example of how S4C presented their Welsh-language schools programmes. A year later, the full ITV Schools output moved over to Channel 4 and S4C, and the Welsh programmes were shown as opt-aways from the main schools schedule. In case you can't quite see what's going on, they used their analogue station clock over a logo of the upcoming programme. I remember writing to S4C to find out what the minimalist electronic music was, but didn't quite manage to pin them down.
