CJAG-FM

CJAG-FM is a Canadian radio station that broadcasts an active rock format at 92.3 FM in Jasper, Alberta. The station is branded as JAG 92.3 or The lone wolf. It is Jasper's only local radio station. It is owned by the Athabasca Hotel.

It's unknown when the station began broadcasting as CJAG; however, the 92.3 MHz frequency in Jasper was once occupied by a low-power radio station which was a rebroadcaster of CIRK.

JAG1

Jagged1 (JAG1) is one of five cell surface proteins (ligands) that interact with 4 receptors in the mammalian Notch signaling pathway. The Notch Signaling Pathway is a highly conserved pathway that functions to establish and regulate cell fate decisions in many organ systems. Once the JAG1-NOTCH (receptor-ligand) interactions take place, a cascade of proteolytic cleavages is triggered resulting in activation of the transcription for downstream target genes. Located on human chromosome 20, the JAG1 gene is expressed in multiple organ systems in the body and causes the autosomal dominant disorder Alagille syndrome (ALGS) resulting from loss of function mutations within the gene. JAG1 has also been designated as CD339 (cluster of differentiation 339).

Structure and function

JAG1 was first identified as a ligand that was able to activate notch receptors when it was cloned in the mammalian rat in 1995. It is located at cytogenetic location 20p12.2 and genomic location (GRCh37) chr20:10,618,331-10,654,693 on the human chromosome 20. The structure of the JAG1 protein includes a small intracellular component, a transmembrane motif, proceeded by an extracellular region containing a cystine-rich region, 16 EGF-like repeats, a DSL domain, and finally a signal peptide totaling 1218 amino acids in length over 26 coding exons.

JAG (band)

JAG was a Christian rock band that recorded during the early 1990s. The band's name is an acronym for the band's founder and lead singer, John Allen Garies.

John "Johnny" Allen Garies, Jr. (November 11, 1952 – August 5, 2007) was born in Houston, TX to John A. “Oscar” Garies, Sr. and Shirley A. (Gray) Garies, one of three children (Michael and Wendy, his two siblings). Garies started playing drums at age 10 and taught himself to play guitar and piano. Graduating in 1971 from Channelview High School in Harris County, Texas, John attended Texas A&M University. He married his wife, Ricka Cox around 1973, with whom he had two children, John Joel and Annie Grace.

Building on his passion for music, Garies formed JAG in the late 1980s. JAG's original lineup for their 1990 debut, The Longest Road included guitarist J. Paul Brittain, bassist Tim Hall, drummer Chuck Connor, and Garies on lead vocals. Their 1991 follow up The Only World In Town traded McCreight for Michael Lusk and featured additional help from drummer Chris McHugh and guitarists, Jim Williams, Dale Oliver (originally of Geoff Moore's band) and Giant's Dann Huff. Produced by frequent CCM-session keyboardist Blair Masters, JAG's final album, Fire in the Temple, featured songs written by Garies, and the likes of Billy Smiley and Mark Gersmehl and performed by players Gordon Kennedy, Chris McHugh and Tommy Sims, all of whom were current or former members of the group Whiteheart, a band's sound to which JAG is oft-compared.

Thomas'

Thomas' is a brand of English muffins and bagels in North America. It is owned by Bimbo Bakeries USA, which also owns Entenmann's, Boboli, Stroehmann, and Arnold bread companies. It advertises as having "nooks and crannies" in the muffins. The company also produces toasting/swirl breads, pitas, bagels and wraps.

The company was founded by Samuel Bath Thomas (1855–1919). In 1874, he emigrated from England to New York City and began working in a bakery. By 1880, he had purchased his own bakery at 163 Ninth Avenue, where he featured his namesake muffins. Thomas expanded to 337 West 20th Street where today a plaque designates the building as "The Muffin House."

The company, S.B. Thomas, Inc., was incorporated by his family after his death in 1919.

Trade Secrets Case

In 2010, the company won a trade secret suit when an executive downloaded the company's recipes and retired to work for Hostess.

Thomas the Apostle

Saint Thomas the Apostle (called Didymus which means "the twin") was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, according to the New Testament. He is informally called doubting Thomas because he doubted Jesus' resurrection when first told, (in the Gospel of John), followed later by his confession of faith, "My Lord and my God", on seeing Jesus' wounded body.

Traditionally, he is said to have travelled outside the Roman Empire to preach the Gospel, travelling as far as Tamilakam in present-day India. According to tradition, the Apostle reached Muziris, Tamilakam present day India in AD 52 and baptized several people, founding what today are known as Saint Thomas Christians or Nasranis. After his death, the reputed relics of Saint Thomas the Apostle were enshrined as far as Mesopotamia in the 3rd century, and later moved to various places. In 1258, some of the relics were brought to Abruzzo in Ortona, Italy, where they have been held in the Church of Saint Thomas the Apostle. He is often regarded as the Patron Saint of India, and the name Thoma remains quite popular among Saint Thomas Christians of India.

Thomas (MLR station)

Thomas (also known as Midtown Phoenix) is a light rail station on Metro Light Rail in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. It is the seventh stop southbound and the twenty-second stop northbound on the initial 20 mile starter line. The station is north of Thomas Road, and it can be accessed from both Thomas Road, at the south, and Catalina Drive, two blocks to the north. Catalina Drive is the south-boundary street for Park Central Mall.
