The violence spilling out of Brazil's slums or 'favelas' has made the country's two major cities more dangerous than most war zones. Children in Rio de Janeiro are eight times more likely to die violently than those in the West Bank. "They live on a kill or be killed basis," states anthropologist Luke Dowdney, who has spent five years studying the favelas. "If they don't kill someone when they're told to, they will be killed."

„Favelas“ sind inoffizielle Bezirke der Metropole Rio de Janeiro, illegal gebaute Stadtteile – scheinbar Welten ohne Regeln. Dort herrscht größten Teils die Drogenmaffia. Die Polizei versucht jetzt Ordnung ins Chaos zu bringen. Eine Mamut-Aufgabe für Behörden und Sicherheitskräfte aber auch für die Bewohner selbst.
Täglich sterben im Großraum Rio 16 Menschen an Schussverletzungen.
Die Behörden setzen beim Kampf gegen Gewalt und Verbrechen in einem ersten Schritt auf das „Schock-Team“ der Militärpolizei von Rio de Janeiro (Batalhão de Polícia de Choque - BPChq). Die Spezialeinheit besetzt die Favelas und macht den Weg frei für die sogenannten „Friedenseinheiten“. Sie sollen im zweiten Schritt den Bewohnern der Favelas dauerhaft Sicherheit geben. Abenteuer Leben begleitet einen Militärpolizisten des Schock-Teams und einer Friedenseinheit bei der Erstürmung einer Problem-Favela bis zur Eröffnung der neuen Polizeiwachen.

Eis o exemplo que ocorre na Vila Cruzeiro, comunidade do Rio de Janeiro. Vejam o comportamento dos "menores"... Qual é o resultado de uma garrafa na cara por exemplo? Isso pode resultar até em morte...Compartilhem, pois em muitas outras comunidades ocorrem a mesma coisa, e o discurso, depois, é sempre o mesmo... Ali, não tem nenhum inocente não, sabem exatamente o que estão fazendo...são do mal mesmo...

Favela
A favela (Portuguese pronunciation: [faˈvɛlɐ]) is a slum in Brazil, within urban areas. The first favelas appeared in the late 19th century and were built by soldiers who had nowhere to live. Some of the first settlements were called bairros africanos (African neighbourhoods). They were the places where former slaves with no land ownership and no options for work lived. Over the years, many former black slaves moved in.
Even before the first favela came into being, poor citizens were pushed away from the city and forced to live in the far suburbs. However, most modern favelas appeared in the 1970s due to rural exodus, when many people left rural areas of Brazil and moved to cities. Unable to find places to live, many people ended up in favelas. Census data released in December 2011 by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) showed that in 2010, about 6 percent of the Brazilian population lived in slums. This means that 11.4 million of the 190 million people that lived in the country resided in areas of irregular occupation definable by lack of public services or urbanization, referred to by the IBGE as "subnormal agglomerations".

Eis o exemplo que ocorre na Vila Cruzeiro, comunidade do Rio de Janeiro. Vejam o comportamento dos "menores"... Qual é o resultado de uma garrafa na cara por exemplo? Isso pode resultar até em morte...Compartilhem, pois em muitas outras comunidades ocorrem a mesma coisa, e o discurso, depois, é sempre o mesmo... Ali, não tem nenhum inocente não, sabem exatamente o que estão fazendo...são do mal mesmo...
