Panthers remain perfect, outlast Giants 38-35 in nasty game
After one of the strangest and nastiest games this NFL season, Cam Newton had an odd feeling.
His Carolina Panthers had just shrugged off a record-tying Giants comeback to remain perfect with a wild 38-35 victory Sunday. Newton, who threw for five touchdowns to further state his case for NFL Most Valuable Player honors, wasn't quite sure what he'd just been through.
"It was kind of a weird feeling in that locker room, and I'm still feeling kind of weird, but not enough to [not] celebrate," said Newton, who also rushed for 100 yards. "We're just trying to find a way to get victories."
New York tied the score after trailing by 28 points in the third quarter, but the Panthers got to 14-0 on Graham Gano's 43-yard field goal as time expired.
It was Carolina's 18th straight regular-season victory. Newton has thrown for 19 touchdowns in the last five games and a career-best 33 in this so-far special season.
It looked oh so easy when NFC South champion Carolina led 35-7 with 5:32 left in the third quarter. Then the Giants (6-8) matched San Francisco's 28-point rally -- from the same score -- against New Orleans in 1980.
One big difference: The 49ers won that game in overtime. The Giants trail Washington by one game in the NFC East, and have lost in the final minutes six times.
Carolina hasn't lost at all, of course.
Carolina visits Atlanta and hosts Tampa Bay to finish the schedule. All three previous NFL teams to reach 14-0 -- Miami in 1972, New England in 2007 and Indianapolis in 2009 -- made the Super Bowl. Only the Dolphins won the championship, though.
The 18 straight wins match the third-longest string in NFL history.
"These last two games are division opponents, and we'll be in a hostile environment in Atlanta," Newton added. "And we've got a tricky week with Christmas. We just have to find a way to keep moving ahead and make sure we stay on the side of the pendulum."
The Giants tied it when Odell Beckham Jr., involved in a game-long helmet-smacking, shoving and jawing session with cornerback Josh Norman, got behind Norman for a 14-yard touchdown catch with 1:46 to go. Beckham had lost his cool several times as Norman was getting the best of him in their high-profile matchup. But he got free for a 40-yard catch and run that led to the tying TD.
Then Newton calmly guided the Panthers 49 yards to the winning kick.
"To go out there and just let them drive down the field is just mind-boggling," said cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who blocked a field goal in the fourth quarter.
Play ranged from chippy to vicious, particularly as the Panthers banged Beckham around. He gave back, too, especially during one sequence when Norman crashed into him and Beckham wrestled Norman to the ground.
Three times, a frustrated Beckham was penalized for roughness. Norman also drew a flag for hitting Beckham in the helmet. And after his tying score, Beckham appeared to taunt Norman before he ran to midfield in celebration.
"He's got the maturity of a little kid," Norman said.
"You got two bulls going at it in a physical sport, a field full of alpha males, they're not going to be playing patty-cake, patty-cake," Newton added.
Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he considered sitting Beckham for some plays, but didn't.
"He did lose his composure," Coughlin said of Beckham. "I think throughout the course of the game he regained it. I won't try to speak for him."
Beckham tried to explain his actions.
"You are a competitor. I'm a competitor. We are always going to go at it," he said. "Anybody who has played sports -- you are competitive and you are going to go as hard as you can."
NFL spokesman Michael Signora said Sunday night: "The disqualification of a player is a judgment made by the on-field officials. The actions of the players involved in unsportsmanlike conduct will be reviewed as per the standard protocol that is followed in all situations of this type throughout the season."
Meanwhile, Newton was staying calm.
He showed off his sprinting skills, and his toughness, on a 47-yard gain to set up Carolina's first touchdown. The quarterback surged away from pursuers, then was slammed as he stepped out of bounds by rookie safety Landon Collins -- Alabama hitting Auburn -- for a late-hit penalty that began all maliciousness.
Ted Ginn Jr. caught a 3-yarder to make it 7-0. He added a 14-yard TD catch in the third quarter.
Newton also took a helmet to the right shoulder when passing in the second period and came to the sideline in obvious pain. But he was back on the field moments later after Rashad Jennings' fumble was forced and recovered by Charles Tillman. Newton was celebrating in the end zone again after Greg Olsen's 37-yard reception three plays later.
It was Carolina's league-leading 34th takeaway; the Panthers have 124 points off turnovers.
Newton also had TD throws of 14 yards to Devin Funchess and 20 to Corey Brown to make it 35-7.

The game was played on February 3, 2008, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
The game is regarded as one of the biggest upsets in the history of sports.[12][13] The Patriots entered the game as 12-point favorites after becoming the first team to complete a perfect regular season since the 1972 Miami Dolphins, and the only one since the league expanded to a 16-game regular season schedule in 1978. The Giants, who finished the regular season with a 10–6 record, were seeking to become the first NFC wild card team to win a Super Bowl, and were also looking for their third Super Bowl victory and first since they won Super Bowl XXV seventeen years earlier. This Super Bowl was also a rematch of the final game of the regular season, in which New England won, 38–35.

New York City is an international metropolis built on the shoulders of immigrants and their descendants.
New York City is home to eight million people, and the city receives more than 50 million visitors per year. Your New York City tour should include sampling the food of hundreds of different cultures, and you can explore the easily on foot, by taxi, or via the famous subway system.
No New York sightseeing is complete without a visit to Times Square, which you’ve no doubt seen in many movies. Take in its billboards, its many people, and its food, then cross over to Central Park, which comprises 850 acres of lakes and meadows, and is the setting for many a romantic comedy. You also have your pick of art and history museums, as well as the Reflecting Absence Memorial and Museum, where you can pay your respects to the victims of 9/11.

Our recent week in New York City was an action-packed one. We decided to set ourselves a challenge to see and do as much as we possibly could, and that gave way to this travel video guide which highlights 50 of the top attractions. In a city like New York this means we barely scratched the surface, but hopefully this video will highlight the cornucopia of possibilities that is the Big Apple.
We try our best to cover all of the top attractions including fine arts, entertainment, festivals, dining, architecture and museums as well as focusing on lesser known off the beaten path attractions to cover all forms of tourism. If you only have time to visit only one city in the United States it ought to be NYC, USA:

Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you'll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town.
You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. You can ride roller coasters, stroll down the boardwalk, enjoy some beach time, and then head over the Nathan's Famous hot dogs. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. Strawberry Fields is a section of Central Park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon.
And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. Have you been to New York? What are your favorite things about this city? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

New York, the Big Apple for the locals, is the largest city of the United States. Its most famous sight is the monumental Statue of Liberty, but there are the famous skyscrapers like the Empire State Building or the Rockefeller Center, while the twin towers of the World trade Center are sadly missed. Along the streets cabs hunt for customers. The lung of the city is Central Park, the paradise of joggers and dog owners. Famous theatres, museums, the cafes and clubs of Greenwich Village and the renewed places of the old docks await the visitors here.

Here are some Things to do in NYC :) This 1st of a "Things to do in NYC" is the BASICS. I will do more in depth videos on neighborhoods like Harlem, Brooklyn, Lower East Side which will include shopping, entertainment, eating, all that :) But for now I hope you find this helpful and excited about exploring NYC. I didn't "forget" to list anything. This is just the first video and trust their are a million things to do. Sorry for not including Brooklyn. I rarely go out there and didn't have footage to include in this video. But here goes!
As for the things I listed check them out here:
Statue of Liberty, is located on Ellis Island. It's since been reopened
http://www.statuecruises.com/choose_tickets.aspx
Central Park is cliche and a MUST! Check out the Boat House this summer and rent a paddle boat for $12/hr. Cash only and a $20 deposit is required
http://www.thecentralparkboathouse.com
Magnolia Bakery has an amazing to die for Banana Pudding that used to be so secret which is now another MUST HAVE while in town
http://www.magnoliabakery.com
Katz Deli is a historical landmark that happens to be famous for their sandwiches. Try the pastrami if you're into that...I'm not :/ Yes this is a tourist destination but it's a part of NYC's history hence a MUST!
http://katzsdelicatessen.com
Patricia Field is a NYC fashion fixture! Made famous for her costume designing in The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City: the Movie and sequel, her boutique is another MUST. I love playing dressup here and splurging on accessories!
http://www.patriciafield.com
Need to get around? Rent a bike! I have yet to try this but it seems fabulous! Save your feet and cover more ground. These bikes and bike spots are all over the city. A perfect way to burn calories and see more of the city faster.
http://citibikenyc.com
Caracas! This happens to be a fav spot of mine! It's uber small and the lines can be long but I love the food. Yes it's fried and oh so good! I've never had an Arepa until I came here and the prices are perfect for us budget minded peeps Try it! just read their yelp reviews!

Summer in NYC isn't really summer until you get your butt on a rooftop. My pick was Jimmy Rooftop. Sunday's after 3pm are bomb! Amazing music courtesy of DJ Cato. I believe it is doorman discretion, which means, dress your best and don't travel with a bunch of dudes. You get an amazing view of the sun setting over the Hudson River and you get to splash around in the pool if you so choose. I chose this spot because I used to work here and loved it!

Yes! Go to Church! After you party it up Saturday night or Sunday afternoon bring your sinful behind to this awesome church! You don't have to be religious to attend. This is a non-denominal church and people from all over the world come here for the amazing sermons and not to mention the interior. This Church is a converted theatre and a must see. Now go and pray!
http://www.tscnyc.org
My spot! We in my hood now. You MUST go to Orange Beauty Supply! I used to buy all my hair products here when I had hair and you def need to buy a wig here. I take all my gurls here and hook them up with a fabulous synthetic or human hair wig just cause!
Apollo!!! You MUST go here on amateur night! It's historical! You either boo or cheer for the talent on stage. You must have an opinion! Quiet indifference is not tolerated :)
A real life YouTube comment board in live action! I've been here countless times and it's a great way to get the energy up!

New York is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world.
The most important places to visit in New York are: Brooklyn Bridge (built in 1883, it is one of the oldest suspension bridges in America and continues to inspire the people of New York City), Wall Street (the bull here makes everyone happy. See where billions are won or lost in seconds), Central Park (one of the world's greatest urban parks. Get involved in an outdoor activity or watch New Yorkers go about their exercise routines), Empire State Building (an American icon, which was built remarkably during the Great Depression. Ride to the top for unmatched city views), Times Square (best experienced at night. First time visitors are simply in awe amidst the bright neon lights), Statue of Liberty (this is one landmark you must visit. The ultimate symbol of New York City).
If you want to save time and money, the most important New York travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

TRAVEL ESSENTIALS FOR NEW YORK CITY | New York City Travel Guide

I revisited New York for a week (but I actually lived there for 9 years.. and I know this: gife in New York City revolves around three things: time, speed and efficiency. In fact a lot of Manhattanites live by daily mental check lists and feel like they never have enough time to everything they want and need to do. Today I'm going to share with you my top 5 travel tips for surviving the Big Bad Apple (aka New York City).
1. Bring comfortable and practical shoes. Now I know a lot of you have probably watched Sex & the City and the women in that TV show always wear high heels. That's because they were taking taxi cabs everywhere. Unless you're taking taxi cabs everywhere , be prepared to walk. A lot. you'll be walking up and down stairs, you'll be taking the metro and the bus all around and you'll be walking blocks and blocks and BLOCKS! Being from Hawaii I was practically born in flip-flops and when I moved to New York, I realized they just didn't work there.
2. Don't stop in the middle of a busy sidewalk or at the entry of a subway station. I like to think of busy New York sidewalks as kind of like the pedestrian version of the German Autobahne. If you're going to stop on the sidewalk or when you emerge from the subway station pull off to the side so other people can pass you by. Simple as that.
3. It is a well-known belief that New Yorkers happen to be very impatient, therefore, next tip is if you're waiting in a checkout line, have your wallet ready when you get to the cash register. The last thing you want to do is wait until you get to the very front, have the cash register ring you up your purchase, tell you what it is and then you... open your bag to look for your wallet. You might not make the cashier or the people behind you very happy. Remember, good customer is not a requirement in New York city. It's an option.
4. Now a lot of people think that New York City is an expensive place to live as well as to visit. That can't be furthest from the truth. The two things that tend to be expensive in New York City are rent and a hotel room. Outside of that you'll find that Manhattan actually has a lot of free activities, like concerts in Central Park, or Shakespeare in the park. You have street markets and street vendors who sell things at a very discounted rate. You don't need to rent a car, you can always take public transportation. In fact, you can buy daily, weekly and monthly unlmited metro passes. If you love to eat, there's always hole-in-the-wall restaurants with good food, for cheap! Also if you love shopping, New York doesn't have sale tax on clothes.
Now last, where to find toilets. New York isn't really known for having a whole lot of public toilets and if it did, I don't know if you'd actually really want to use them. People can be dirty. But if you really had to go and were looking for a spot to go in, then my best suggestion is: Mc Donald, Starbucks, public museums as well as the New York public libraries. some parks migh have them but I wouldn't count on them. One handy app I have is Sit n Squat. It's downloadable for free by Charmin and it will help you locate the nearest toilet whether paid or free on your phone.

Travel video about destination New York in the United States of America.
New York is capital city of the American Dream, with its population drawn from each corner of the world. The Empire State Building is a symbol of the glamour and fascination of this frenetic city, yet the Chrysler building is just as imposing, its unusual tower being decorated with car motifs such as bonnets, hub caps and car wheels of the 1930‘s. Wall Street derived its name from a wall which had been erected to protect the emerging town from attack by Native American Indians and now most of the city is an open powerhouse of ceaseless activity with a constant mêlée of car horns, sirens, and screeching tyres.Greenwich Village is one of the few areas of the city that has no clearly-defined symmetry. Attractive steps grace many of its 19th century houses of red brick and brown sandstone and, until the 1960‘s, many important artists and authors lived there, such as Edgar Allen Poe and Henry James. Little Italy, Chinatown, The Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty, Broadway, Times Square…each has its own colourful stories to tell amid the fantastic man-made Manhattan glass horizons: the skyscrapers which shamelessly reach up to the heavens and exclaim that New York is most assuredly the commercial capital of the universe.

Vacation travel video about destination New York City in New York.
New York continues to be one of the world’s most famous cities, a true world metropolis and major symbol of the American Dream. Manhattan Island is the city’s most well known district and the Rockefeller Center in Midtown is often referred to as the heart of the New York. Nearby the Roman Catholic Saint Patrick´s Cathedral is the largest and most magnificent church in the United States. The Grand Central Terminal divides Park Avenue and is a huge station with which the railroad kings, the Venderbilts, left an indelible mark. The huge hall, with its magnificent vaulted ceiling in Beaux Arts style, has been the city’s central railway station for twelve lines since 1913. The confines of Chinatown are inhabited by a hundred and fifty thousand Chinese from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, most of whom are unable to speak a word of English. Chinese characters wherever one looks and restaurants and Asian stores on every street corner. The famous Wall Street was named after a wall which in the early days protected the growing city against attack by Native American Indians. However, the roots of its subsequent claim to fame were laid in 1792. The young state desperately needed investment and therefore the powers that be decided to issue bonds. Close by, on a small island, is New York’s most famous landmark, the Statue Of Liberty. The head of Lady Liberty leads to the crown from which there are stunning views from several windows. New York City is most certainly unique. A city that’s very much alive and kicking, self-confident and always a surprise!

http://www.expedia.com/Times-Square-New-York.d502080.Vacation-Attraction
When you’ve explored Central Park and Midtown Manhattan, it’s time to tour Times Square.
This is the glowing center of the New York Theater District. When you picture New York, Times Square is probably the second thing that comes to mind (after the city’s famous skyline), with its neon signs, giant buildings, and constant stream of humanity coming and going. Times Square adopted its name in 1904, after the New York Times moved in. The newspaper has since moved on, but the moniker stuck.
Once you arrive in the Big Apple, head on down to the center of Times Square, where you’ll find a plaza for you to sit, hang out, and people-watch. Shop at the many stores lining the Square, or lean back to see the top of notable buildings belonging to businesses like Hershey and M&M.; When the sun goes down, the lights shine even brighter; follow the signs and billboards to the theatres, where you’ll find the musicals, comedies, and dramatic performances you didn’t even realize you were searching for.
Your Times Square sightseeing isn’t over after you take in a play, though. Why not explore some of the various restaurants and cafes that are open late at night? After all, New York is The City That Never Sleeps—why should you?

.. es funktioniert. Kein Haken, kein wenn und aber!
Für Eilige, sofort hier mehr Infos:
http://promo.ag2014.16759.digistore24.com/
So nun aber eins nach dem anderen.
Ich selbst reise sehr gerne, und man kann auch sagen
sehr viel. Egal ob Privat oder Beruflich, ich bin mehrmals
pro Monat unterwegs.
Auto, Bahn, Flug, Hotel. Immer auf der Jagd nach Schnäppchen.
Denn ich will beim reisen sparen.
"Low Cost Weltenbummler" nennt.
http://promo.ag2014.16759.digistore24.com/
Wir hatten sofort einen sehr guten Draht zueinander, und arbeiten
schon fast 1 Jahr eng zusammen.
zittern!
Seit nunmehr 14 Jahren reist Ralf (fast) umsonst um die Welt.
Hier mal Beispiele ..
.. 10 Tage Mauritius im 5 Sterne mit Halbpension für 400 Euro
.. 1 Woche Mallorca im 4,5 Sterne Hotel mit All Inklusive für NULL Euro
.. 8 Wochen Mietwagen in den USA mir 4175 Dollar Rabatt
Glauben Sie nicht? Dann schauen Sie mal hier:

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Former New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin interviewed into Tuesday evening with the San Francisco 49ers regarding their head coaching vacancy, a person with direct knowledge of the meeting told The Associated Press.
The two-time Super Bowl winning coach met with 49ers general manager Trent Baalke at an unspecified location on the East Coast, the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the team isn’t making public its interviews or candidates to replace the fired Jim Tomsula.
Tomsula was let go immediately after a season-ending 19-16 overtime win against St. Louis on Jan. 3.
San Francisco CEO Jed York was in Houston on Tuesday for the NFL owners meetings.
The Niners, who went 5-11 and missed the playoffs for a second straight season, interviewed Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson in Cincinnati on Sunday after last week’s meetings with fired Eagles coach Chip Kelly and Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter.
San Francisco is certainly seeking experience to replace promoted defensive line coach Tomsula after one disappointing season, and Coughlin fits that bill. His Giants beat the 49ers 20-17 in overtime of the 2011 NFC championship game at Candlestick Park in then-San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh’s first season and New York went on to win the Super Bowl — the franchise’s most recent postseason appearance.
The 69-year-old Coughlin, one of 13 coaches to win multiple Super Bowls, resigned from the Giants on Jan. 4 after four straight years of missing the playoffs and consecutive 6-10 finishes.
In 2015, he was the oldest active coach in the NFL. He began last season knowing he had to turn things around to keep his job, and the Giants lost six games either in the final 1:14 of regulation or in overtime.
Coughlin had a 110-93 record in 12 seasons with the Giants, winning three division titles in addition to his two championships. He was 72-64 in eight seasons with the then-expansion Jacksonville Jaguars, capturing two division titles and leading them to a pair of conference championship games in their first five seasons.

1986 NFC Divisional Playoff Game: The 49ers are looking to avenge last years playoff loss against the Giants. SF came into the game with some key players banged up. Will they be physical enough against the Giants defensive line? If not, Montana won't have enough time to get the ball to his WR's. Both teams would like to establish the running game to avoid this problem.

Super Bowl XLVI was an American football game between the National Football Conference (NFC) champion New York Giants and the American Football Conference (AFC) champion New England Patriots to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2011 season. The Giants defeated the Patriots by the score of 21–17.[10][11] The game was played on February 5, 2012, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the first time that the Super Bowl was played in the state of Indiana.
In addition to winning their fourth Super Bowl in team history, the Giants set a new record for the lowest regular season record (9–7, win percentage of 56.3%) by a Super Bowl champion.[12] The Patriots entered the game with an AFC-best 13–3 regular season record, and were also seeking their fourth Super Bowl win. The game was also a rematch of Super Bowl XLII, in which New York also won, 17–14, to spoil New England's perfect 2007 season in what is now considered to be one of the greatest upsets in sports history.
The Giants jumped to a 9–0 lead in the first quarter of Super Bowl XLVI before the Patriots scored 17 unanswered points to take a 17–9 lead in the third quarter. But the Giants prevented the Patriots from scoring again, and two consecutive New York field goals chipped away New England's lead, 17–15, late in the third quarter. The Giants capped off an 88-yard drive with running back Ahmad Bradshaw's 6-yard game-winning touchdown with 57 seconds left in the game. Eli Manning, who completed 30 of 40 passes for 296 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions, was named Super Bowl MVP for the second time in his career. He became the third consecutive quarterback to win the award after Aaron Rodgers in Super Bowl XLV and Drew Brees in Super Bowl XLIV.
The broadcast of the game on NBC broke the then record for the most-watched program in American television history, previously set during the previous year's Super Bowl. Super Bowl XLVI was watched by an estimated average audience of 111.3 million US viewers and an estimated total audience of 166.8 million, according to Nielsen, meaning that over half of the American population watched at least some of the initial broadcast.[13] The game also set the record for most tweets per second during a sporting event, with 13.7 million tweets from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. (PST).[14]
With the loss, along with losses in 1985, 1996, and 2007, the Patriots tied with the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings for most Super Bowl losses at four.

The Giants made a late post season run, as they qualified for the playoffs on the final game against Dallas. They went all the way to the Superbowl before losing to the Ravens. We had no idea our country would be changed forever 13 hours later. This game brings us back to those moments before we woke up the next morning. I wonder how many people stayed up late watching this game, before 8:45 the next morning? Nobody could believe what they were waking up to when they turned on the TV. I can only pray we don't wake up to something like this again.
