This video displays the rise and the fall of the Mongolian Empire and its influence throughout Asia and parts of Europe. The Mongolian Empire, at its largest spanned an area of about 12 million square miles that is 12 times the size of the Roman Empire. The Mongolian Empire government was an elective Monarchy, which means that they elected their single ruler. The Mongolians were known as very harsh and battle hardened people, they were almost constantly taking over land or preparing to conquer. The Mongolian Empire was lead by 6 different people throughout their entire period of influence, the two most prominent being Genghis Khan and Kublai Khan. The Mongolian Empire lasted from 1206 AD to 1294 AD, but by 1294 the Empire had split into 4 separate empires, and those lasted to about 1368. The Mongolians were never known for their art nor did they have much artistic influence, but much of their art displayed their rulers, scenes of battle, or horses. Since their empire was so large, they ruled many different cultures, they didn’t have a single religion, there were many religions that were allowed. This film will teach the viewers about the brutality of the Mongolians, but at the same time will show that they were effective in ruling an expanse of 12 million square miles. The video shows the ingenuity of the Mongols and how they started as nomads and grew to be the largest empire in history. The Mongolian Empire may not have had much artistic influence, but they changed the world in many other ways.
