“There is hardly a worthy organization in the Jewish and general communities that has not been touched and bettered through the involvement of Mark and Lyn Bober,” says gala co-chair Marc Merklin.
Lyn is a fixture at a variety of charitable events and causes in the Jewish community and in the Akron area. She has chaired Purim Ball, Akron Children’s Hospital 125 Gala and the Akron Art Museum Wine Auction. Lyn has also served on Akron Children’s Hospital Women’s Board and as a president of the Shaw JCC Auxiliary.
Lyn and Mark together co-chaired our Jewish community’s Young Leadership Mission to Israel in 1998.
“The Bobers bring not only passion and caring to their community involvement, but Mark’s keen analytical and financial skills and Lyn’s sense of taste, color and style,” adds Merklin.
Mark, a partner at regional accounting firm Bober Markey Fedorovich, has led many of Akron’s Jewish institutions, as president of both the Jewish Community Board of Akron and the Shaw JCC. He has chaired the Annual Campaign and the Akron Jewish community’s 100-year Anniversary Celebration.
Outside the Jewish community, Mark has been a board member of a wide variety of Akron’s nonprofits, including the Akron Community Foundation, Akron General Health System, Hospice Center, Bluecoats and Association for Growth, among many others. An alum of Leadership Akron, he has held a variety of fundraising leadership positions for the United Way of Summit County. Mark was recognized by Crain’s Cleveland Business in 1997 as one of the region’s “40 Under 40” business leaders.

Wim Van Parijs (viool, zang), Willy Dessers (gitaar, zang), Veerle Slootmans, (zang), Mars Moriau (diatonische accordeon, zang) Marc Gaij, (altviool, mandoline, fluit en doedelpijp), Otto Kint, (bas) en Stef Deduffeleer (drums en percussie).
De Grote Oorlog in Brusselse straatliedjes” is een Brosella project geïnspireerd door het boek “De Grooten Oorlog in Brusselse straatliedjes uit 1914-1918” geschreven door Guy Janssens, hoogleraar historische taalkunde van het Nederlands aan de Luikse universiteit. Het boekje belicht de Grote Oorlog vanuit een erg originele invalshoek, nl. de oorlogs-en bezettingsliedjes die toenmaals klonken uit de mond van het gewone volk in Brussel. De liedjes zijn zowel in het Nederlands, het Frans als het plaatselijk Brusselse dialect. Guy Janssens rondt af met het ophalen van herinneringen aan de liedjes die zijn grootmoeder altijd voor hem zong. Zijn studie is zeker een belangrijke bijdrage aan het documentenarchief over en van de grote oorlog.
Emballage Kado heeft voor dit programma een selectie gemaakt van negen liederen uit het geciteerde boek, aangevuld met een drietal andere nummers die de inhoud versterken. De gekozen “straatliedjes” behandelen de verschillende aspecten van het stadsleven tijdens de grote oorlog in Brussel. De meeste van deze liedjes zijn volkse teksten geschreven op populaire melodieën uit die tijd. Emballage Kado stak ze in een muzikaal kleedje dat hen past. Voor een viertal liedjes werd bij gebrek aan muzikale verwijzing gekozen voor een eigen compositie. Alle nummers werden tekstueel aangepast op basis van het eigentijds Brussels dialect, de zingbaarheid en begrijpbaarheid. De teksten werden op hun “universeel Brussels” nagelezen en grammaticaal aangepast door een aantal dialectspecialisten van be. Brusseleir, de Brusselse dialectvereniging. Er werd gestreefd naar coherentie in de muzikale aanpak waarbij populaire straatmuziek de leidraad is.

Justin Bieber
Justin Drew Bieber (/ˈbiːbər/; born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer. Bieber released his debut EP, My World, in late 2009. It was certified platinum in the U.S. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record chart on the Billboard Hot 100. It debuted at or near number one in several countries and was certified triple platinum in the U.S. It was preceded by his most successful single to date, "Baby".
Following his debut album, he had his first headlining tour, the My World Tour, released the remix albums My Worlds Acoustic and Never Say Never – The Remixes -- and the 3D biopic-concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. He released his second studio album, Under the Mistletoe, in November 2011, when it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Bieber released his third studio album, Believe, in 2012. His fourth studio album Purpose was released in November 2015. His U.S. album and singles sales total 44.7 million.

Parris Goebel
Parris Goebel is a New Zealand choreographer and dancer who has worked with pop artists including Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, BIGBANG, and CL from 2NE1.
Goebel founded the ReQuest Dance Crew when she was 15. ReQuest is based in a studio in Penrose, Auckland. In 2014, she was awarded the World of Dance Female Choreographer of the Year. In 2014, Goebel starred in Step Up: All In as Violet.
In 2015, Goebel starred in BIGBANG's "Bang Bang Bang". That same year, she and her crew featured in CL's (leader of 2NE1) music video for HELLO BI+CHES.
Goebel choreographed and sang in the video "Sorry" for Justin Bieber, which as of January 2016 is one of the 50 top viewed videos on YouTube of all time.

She has chaired Purim Ball, Akron Children’s Hospital 125 Gala and the Akron Art Museum Wine Auction. Lyn has also served on Akron Children’s Hospital Women’s Board and as a president of the Shaw JCC Auxiliary.

Mark, a partner at regional accounting firm Bober Markey Fedorovich, has led many of Akron’s Jewish institutions, as president of both the Jewish Community Board of Akron and the Shaw JCC. He has chaired the Annual Campaign and the Akron Jewish community’s 100-year Anniversary Celebration.

De Grote Oorlog in Brusselse straatliedjes” is een Brosella project geïnspireerd door het boek “De Grooten Oorlog in Brusselse straatliedjes uit 1914-1918” geschreven door Guy Janssens, hoogleraar historische taalkunde van het Nederlands aan de Luikse universiteit. Het boekje belicht de Grote Oorlog vanuit een erg originele invalshoek, nl. de oorlogs-en bezettingsliedjes die toenmaals klonken uit de mond van het gewone volk in Brussel. De liedjes zijn zowel in het Nederlands, het Frans als het plaatselijk Brusselse dialect. Guy Janssens rondt af met het ophalen van herinneringen aan de liedjes die zijn grootmoeder altijd voor hem zong. Zijn studie is zeker een belangrijke bijdrage aan het documentenarchief over en van de grote oorlog.
Emballage Kado heeft voor dit programma een selectie gemaakt van negen liederen uit het geciteerde boek, aangevuld met een drietal andere nummers die de inhoud versterken. De gekozen “straatliedjes” behandelen de verschillende aspecten van het stadsleven tijdens de grote oorlog in Brussel. Wim Van Parijs (viool, zang), Willy Dessers (gitaar, zang), Veerle Slootmans, (zang), Mars Moriau (diatonische accordeon, zang) Marc Gaij, (altviool, mandoline, fluit en doedelpijp), Otto Kint, (bas) en Stef Deduffeleer (drums en percussie).
De Grote Oorlog in Brusselse straatliedjes” is een Brosella project geïnspireerd door het boek “De Grooten Oorlog in Brusselse straatliedjes uit 1914-1918” geschreven door Guy Janssens, hoogleraar historische taalkunde van het Nederlands aan de Luikse universiteit. Het boekje belicht de Grote Oorlog vanuit een erg originele invalshoek, nl. de oorlogs-en bezettingsliedjes die toenmaals klonken uit de mond van het gewone volk in Brussel. De liedjes zijn zowel in het Nederlands, het Frans als het plaatselijk Brusselse dialect. Guy Janssens rondt af met het ophalen van herinneringen aan de liedjes die zijn grootmoeder altijd voor hem zong. Zijn studie is zeker een belangrijke bijdrage aan het documentenarchief over en van de grote oorlog.
Emballage Kado heeft voor dit programma een selectie gemaakt van negen liederen uit het geciteerde boek, aangevuld met een drietal andere nummers die de inhoud versterken. De gekozen “straatliedjes” behandelen de verschillende aspecten van het stadsleven tijdens de grote oorlog in Brussel. De meeste van deze liedjes zijn volkse teksten geschreven op populaire melodieën uit die tijd. Emballage Kado stak ze in een muzikaal kleedje dat hen past. Voor een viertal liedjes werd bij gebrek aan muzikale verwijzing gekozen voor een eigen compositie. A pilot for 8 airlines, 7 type ratings, 2 masters degrees, and author of: Aviation thrillers: Flight For Control, Flight For Safety, Flight for Survival. and Flight For Sanity. After closing one chapter of my career, flying the 747-400 with Northwest Airlines, I've opened the next three chapters.. I was flying the Airbus A330 for Delta Air Lines, but now waiting for training on the B777. I'm working toward my PhD in Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Passed my qualifying exams in August of 2016.

Pierre Bergounioux, né le 25 mai 1949 à Brive-la-Gaillarde, est un écrivain français, sculpteur et professeur de lettres. Son œuvre abondante, d'inspiration autobiographique, se lit comme un seul grand livre, reprenant sans cesse les mêmes motifs pour patiemment cerner l'unique objet de ses préoccupations : celui de l'existence soumise à l'inlassable travail du temps. Marquée par Faulkner et les profonds bouleversements que l'écrivain américain introduisit dans l'écriture romanesque, elle a été rapprochée de celles de Claude Simon et de Pierre Michon.
