Camerota, a 16-year Fox News veteran, currently co-anchors the 1pmET hour with Bill Hemmer. Over the years Camerota has been co-host of "Fox & Friends Weekend" and often filled in on the weekday show. As a correspondent, Camerota reported on the 2004 and 2008 presidential elections, she reported from Ground Zero following the September 11 attacks, and anchored 'round-the-clock coverage of the start of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. "For the past 16 years, Alisyn has been a part of the Fox News family," says Bill Shine, EVP of Programming for Fox News. "From her days reporting, to hosting Fox & Friends and anchoring afternoon programs, she has done it all with enthusiasm and professionalism. We appreciate her contributions to the network and hope for all the best as she embarks on the next chapter of her life." Camerota joined Fox News in 1998 from WHDH (NBC) in Boston. Her last day is expected to be later this month. The New Jersey native and her husband have twin daughters born in 2005, and a son who was born in 2007. She plans to take some time off before seeking out her next gig. More: "It's been a dream to work with all of you. I've learned from your example and talent," Camerota writes to colleagues. Her full note after the jump. Dear FOX friends, Where does the time go? It's funny to think when I joined FNC, I was a single reporter in Boston, covering stories in my red convertible. And now I leave as a married anchor with three booster seats in the back of what might as well be a minivan. It's been quite a ride — personally and professionally. In my many years at FOX, I've been blessed to work alongside some of the best journalists in the business. And in addition to being rock solid reporters, you're wonderful people. No one outside of FOX could ever appreciate just how cool and supportive and riotously funny people here are. It's not every job where on any given day, you can laugh until your sides hurt but that's been my experience here. A couple of times, my co-hosts cracked me up so much that I literally fell over (and that was ON the air). I want to thank Roger Ailes for having me as part of the FOX family and giving me many amazing opportunities to grow. Roger taught me a lifetime of valuable things about what makes great television. I'm honored to have his mentorship and guidance now and in the future. I could type a long list of the important stories I've had the privilege of covering during my tenure here but my fingers would fall off. Suffice it to say, I'm as proud of the moment that Blagojevich called mine his toughest interview as I am of losing a bet on Fox + Friends and landing in a bacon suit. And for those of us who bonded in the field during hurricanes and Nor'easters, crime scenes and plane crashes, I'll long remember the rush and intensity of those days as well. It's been a dream to work with all of you. I've learned from your example and talent. I'm grateful for our time together and your friendship.
