News from the region is flooded with tragedy in Syria, tumult in Gaza, and terrorism in Iraq; how can we make sense of these conflicts in a regional context? With fiercely distinct ethnic, sectarian, religious, and national identities, the groups and alliances within states in the Middle East tend not to follow arbitrary colonial-era borders. Can the regional architecture withstand today’s dramatic challenges, or can there be a stabilizing arrangement where borders are redrawn, Kurds get independence, and governments are more representative of their populations? If redrawn borders are unlikely to occur, what should happen for the region to progress peacefully? What role should Turkey, Iran, and other more established powers play? How should the West be involved?

Should I go, Should I go it alone
Should I stay, should I try the champagne and
Break in two, to sell the real you
This is the life, the eternal lie
The fake supremacy that everyone dreams
Break in two, to sell the real you
To fame and fortune everything new
Are we born again
When we meet our end
Will the life we've led
Meet the specification of our own demands
What we once condemned to be an awful sin has now become our own guilty trend
Turn off the television, turn off the television
This is not an anthem a party song
It’s a stand for the people you love
Those rejects, prefects their own devices
Shunned away by the regular masses
Are we born again
When we meet our end
Will the life we've led
Meet the specification of our own demands
What we once condemned to be an awful sin has become our own little guilty trend
Now turn off the television correct your singular vision
As cameras roll the kingdom falls
As cameras roll the kingdom falls
As cameras roll the kingdom falls
As cameras roll the kingdom
Are we born again
When we meet our end
Will the life we've led
Meet the specification of our own demands
What we once condemned to be an awful sin has become our own little guilty trend

Ezra Levant of TheRebel.media: "Dangerous news: Justin Trudeau just appointed a Saudi-born extremist, Omar Alghabra, to be Parliamentary Secretary to the foreign minister. That means he's in charge of our international consulates.
"Omar Alghabra used to run the Canadian Arab Federation, a group that is so anti-Semitic, it had its government funding cut off.
"I got a lot more disturbing information about Alghabra in my monologue, including his relationship with the prime minister.
"This troubling appointment raises questions about how Syrian refugees to Canada will be vetted, and much more.
If you’re concerned about Omar Alghabra being in charge of Canadian government policy, and if you’re worried it will mean tens of thousands of other Muslim radicals coming to Canada in the name of refugees, SIGN OUR PETITION

South Korea's foreign ministry is in close coordination with the country's partners and allies following the North's nuclear bomb test.
Seoul and Washington have vowed to work closely to counter Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions.
Connie Kim reports.
South Korea and the United States remained firm in closely coordinating response to North Korea's nuclear test.
Following Pyongyang's announcement of its successful hydrogen bomb testing on Wednesday, South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se met with Mark Lippert, the U.S. ambassador to South Korea, and General Curtis Scaparrotti, the commander of the U.S. Forces Korea in Seoul.
Yun reportedly explained Seoul's assessment of North Korea's nuclear test claim and called on close cooperation between the two allies' diplomatic and defense authorities.
The three agreed to cooperate on maintaining a strong defense posture.
Yun has also reportedly talked with the foreign ministers of the United Kingdon and Australia via phone urging the nations to send out a united message condemning Pyongyang's provocation.
Hwang Joon-kook, Special Representative for Korea Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs also had phone conversations with the U.S., Japanese representatives of the six party nuclear talks and Sung Kim, the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy to discuss response measures against Pyongyang.
Holding an emergency meeting earlier on Wednesday, South Korea's Foreign Affairs ministry strongly condemned the North's actions.
"North Korea's provocation is a clear violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions. In a situation like this, the Foreign Affairs Ministry sees a need for swift, active measures."
The ministry said it will be maintaining its state of emergency, and will take steps to ensure the safety of South Korean citizens living abroad.
An interesting factor is that North Korea did not notify the U.S. or China in advance of the test.
This is a different pattern from the past, when Pyongyang DID let Washington and Beijing know it was planning to conduct a nuclear test.

How is the international community responding to the announcement from North Korea?
Well, North Korea may be finding itself even more isolated in the international community.
First of all,... China, Pyongyang′s longtime ally, issued a statement saying it strongly opposes the hydrogen bomb test conducted by North Korea.
The White House said it cannot confirm Pyongyang′s hydrogen bomb claim.
But it condemns any violation of UN security council resolutions that ban North Korea from nuclear tests.

The Indonesia Government conveyed its concern about recent tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Indonesia urged both countries to show restraint and avoid actions that could endanger stability in the region.
According to press release from Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (1/5/2016), Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi will immediately contact Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General, Iran Foreign Minister and Saudi Foreign Minister to find best solution.
Tension between the two countries emerged after Saudi executed Shiite cleric and activist, Nimr al-Nimr.
Nimr was called as terrorist by the Saudi Government after he led anti-government movements in 2011 and 2012.
The execution triggered uproar in Iran. Saudi Embassy in Tehran, Iran was burnt by angry protesters.
Saudi then retaliated by cutting diplomatic relationship with Iran.
