Cunene é uma província no sul de Angola com uma área de 77 213 quilómetros quadrados, cerca de 687 mil habitantes e cuja capital é Ondjiva (antiga Vila Pereira dEça).É constituída pelos municípios de Cahama Cuanhama Curoca Cuvelai Namacunde e Ombadja.Semi-desértico,tropical seco;megatérmico, comuma pluviometria irregular não excedendo aos 600 mm por ano. A temepratura média anual é de 23 graus centrígrados, com grandes amplitudes térmicas diárias. A maior concentração de quedas pluviométricas regista-se entre os meses de Dezembro à abril com grandes irregularidades na sua distribuição.Principal produção: agrícolas - milho, Algodão, Cana de Açúcar, Citrinos, Videira, Massambala, Massango, Tabaco, Trigo, Recursos Madeireiros (floresta tropical seca) Feijão, e horticiltura, outros-madeiras;A agricultura caracteriza-se no tipo sequeiro, baseada nas culturas de massango e massambala. Existem actualmente na Província 51.650 lavras familiares com uma superfície explorada de 77.475 ha. Donde 43% é cultivada anualmente, ficando o resto em pousio. Pesca Artesanal, joga um papel importante no fornecimento de peixe às populações no meio rural e contribui para o melhoramento da dieta alimentar das comunidades. Atividade praticada principalmente no rio Kunene com baixos índices de captura devido ao fraco apoio em artefatos de pesca (linhas, anzóis, bóias, chumbos, redes, etc.).Criação de gado é suficientemente conhecida como a maior actividade produtiva do Kunene, estando estimada em mais de 1.000.000 de cabeças de gado bovino. A maior parte dos efectivos estão na posse dos criadores tradicionais e a manada é mantida em regime extensivo com aproveitamento das pastagens naturais que condicionam a disponibilidade de água em primeiro lugar e o potencial de carga de pastos. As limitações periódicas dum desses factores levam a deslocação das manadas de gado às zonas de transumância que são variáveis no espaço e no tempo.

Namakunde
Namakunde or Namacunde is a town and municipality in Cunene Province in Angola.
History as a mission station
Namakunde was a mission station of the Rhenish Mission Society in Oukwanyama in southern Angola, located 25 km to the south-east of Ondjiva.
Namakunde mission was founded in 1900 by the German missionary Wilhelm Ickler. At the time it was thought that the area was part of German South West Africa.
Just as Ickler had begun the construction of the third mission German mission station in Oukwanyama, he fell ill with malaria and blackwater fever and died on 22 June 1900.
In November 1915 the Germans had to leave Namakunde, as it became the border station between Portuguese West Africa and British South West Africa.
Transport
Namakunde lies on the route of the proposed railway linking Angola and Namibia.

A maior concentração de quedas pluviométricas regista-se entre os meses de Dezembro à abril com grandes irregularidades na sua distribuição.Principal produção: agrícolas - milho, Algodão, Cana de Açúcar, Citrinos, Videira, Massambala, Massango, Tabaco, Trigo, Recursos Madeireiros (floresta tropical seca) Feijão, e horticiltura, outros-madeiras;A agricultura caracteriza-se no tipo sequeiro, baseada nas culturas de massango e massambala. Existem actualmente na Província 51.650 lavras familiares com uma superfície explorada de 77.475 ha. Donde 43% é cultivada anualmente, ficando o resto em pousio. Pesca Artesanal, joga um papel importante no fornecimento de peixe às populações no meio rural e contribui para o melhoramento da dieta alimentar das comunidades. Atividade praticada principalmente no rio Kunene com baixos índices de captura devido ao fraco apoio em artefatos de pesca (linhas, anzóis, bóias, chumbos, redes, etc.).Criação de gado é suficientemente conhecida como a maior actividade produtiva do Kunene, estando estimada em mais de 1.000.000 de cabeças de gado bovino. A maior parte dos efectivos estão na posse dos criadores tradicionais e a manada é mantida em regime extensivo com aproveitamento das pastagens naturais que condicionam a disponibilidade de água em primeiro lugar e o potencial de carga de pastos. As limitações periódicas dum desses factores levam a deslocação das manadas de gado às zonas de transumância que são variáveis no espaço e no tempo. -

Travelling to Malawi.wmv
Unsere Anreise ging über Kenia und Tansania nach Malawi. Kurze Zwischenaufenthalte lockerten das Ganze etwas auf. Wir lernten dabei viele nette Leute kennen, erweiterten unseren Horizont, besuchten auch ähnliche und sogar deutsche Projekte. Auf der Fahrt kamen wir durch Flachland bis hinauf in 2500m Höhe. Ziel war In Südmalawi: Blantyre, ca. 1000m hoch gelegen. We arrived to Malawi via Kenya and Tanzania by bus. Short stays at several places on the way made the trip more interesting. Hereby we made friendship to many nice people, we got more knowledges, visited other, similiar projects, even German. On the way we came up to 2500m hight. Blantyre in southern Malawi as our final place is located at about 1000m over sea level.
