Learn the vital role that critical thinking skills play in the development of strong reading skills, and introduce your staff to practical tips for reading, spelling, and language arts instruction that can be implemented in the classroom immediately after training!
In "Critical Thinking Skills for Reading, Spelling, and Literacy," Denise Eide, author of "Uncovering the Logic of English," casts a vision for how to limit rote memorization and help students develop the critical thinking skills they need to build a deep and solid foundation for reading, writing, and all of education.
In this short, free training, teachers will gain answers to questions that students ask every day about words. Discover tools that are empowering teachers across the nation to give real help to struggling readers, and become part of a movement to transform literacy instruction so that a majority of our nation's students read at grade level or above. Parents, tutors, and others will also benefit from this video as they develop a deeper understanding of how written English works.

From literacy tests to voter ID laws, the right to vote remains threatened. Watch as Harvard students attempt to pass the 1964 Louisiana literacy test as part of a project that raises awareness about barriers to voting.
In October of 2014, we gave a group of Harvard students a test. But it was not just any test. It was the 1964 Louisiana Literacy Test. Exactly 50 years ago, states in the American South issued this exact test to any voter who could not “prove a fifth grade education.” Unsurprisingly, the only people who ever saw this test were blacks and, to a lesser extent, poor whites trying to vote in the South. In order to pass, voters needed to answer all 30 questions correctly in 10 minutes. Just one question wrong was grounds for disenfranchisement.
Since this test, in principle, was equivalent to proving a fifth grade education, we thought it might be interesting to see if some of the brightest young minds in the world could pass this literacy test. We did our best to recreate the testing conditions that black and poor white voters faced back in 1964. Thirty questions. Ten minutes. Not a single question wrong. If anyone could pass a basic literacy test, it would be Harvard students right?
Wrong. None of them passed the test. None of them passed the test because no one can pass the test. You see, Louisiana’s literacy test was designed to be failed. Just like all the other literacy tests issued in the South at the time, this test was not about testing literacy at all. It was a legitimate sounding, but devious measure that the State of Louisiana used to disenfranchise people that had the wrong skin tone or belonged to the wrong social class. Most of the test’s questions are purposely ambiguous. No matter what was written down, the registrar official would simply say the person’s interpretation of the question was wrong. And just like that, countless black and poor white voters in the South were disenfranchised.

In this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes. We learn to read and write but not how to deal with uncertainty: we are risk illiterates. Why do we fear what's unlikely to kill us? Is it true that people are basically hopeless when it comes to managing health and wealth? Some experts have concluded that Homo Sapiens ("man the wise") is a misnomer, and that John and Jane Q. Public need continuous guidance, as a child needs a parent. Against this pessimistic view, Gerd Gigerenzer argues that everyone can learn to deal with risk and uncertainty, and that experts can be part of the problem rather than the solution. A democracy needs risk-savvy citizens who cannot be easily frightened into surrendering their money, their welfare, and their liberty. We should begin to teach risk literacy to everyone.
Gerd Gigerenzer is director at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and director of the Harding Center for Risk Literacy in Berlin. Previous positions he held include Professor of Psychology at the University of Chicago and John M. Olin Distinguished Visiting Professor, School of Law at the University of Virginia. He is also a member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and the German Academy of Sciences, and Batten Fellow at the Darden Business School, University of Virginia. เรามีปัญหาทางเทคนิคคือเวลาไม่พอ
(เพราะวิทยากรแต่ละคน ทั้ง @Money Coach

Education in Pakistan is overseen by the Ministry of Education of the Government of Pakistan as well as the provincial governments, whereas the federal government mostly assists in curriculum development, accreditation and in the financing of research and development. Article 25-A of Constitution of Pakistan obligates the state to provide free and compulsory quality education to children of the age group 3 to 16 years. "The State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of five to sixteen years in such a manner as may be determined by law".[3]
The education system in Pakistan is generally divided into six levels: Primary education (for the age from 2.5 to 5 years); primary (grades one through five); middle (grades six through eight); high (grades nine and ten, leading to the Secondary School Certificate or SSC); intermediate (grades eleven and twelve, leading to a Higher Secondary (School) Certificate or HSC); and university programs leading to undergraduate and graduate degrees.[4]
The literacy rate ranges from 96% in Islamabad to 28% in the Kohlu District.[5] Between 2000 and 2004, Pakistanis in the age group 55–64 had a literacy rate of almost 38%, those ages 45–54 had a literacy rate of nearly 46%, those 25–34 had a literacy rate of 57%, and those ages 15–24 had a literacy rate of 72%.[6] Literacy rates vary regionally, particularly by sex. In tribal areas female literacy is 9.5%.[7] Moreover, English is fast spreading in Pakistan, with more than 92 million Pakistanis (49% of the population) having a command over the English language,[8] which makes it the third largest English-speaking nation in the world and the second largest in Asia. On top of that, Pakistan produces about 445,000 university graduates and 10,000 computer science graduates per year.[9] Despite these statistics, Pakistan still has one of the highest illiteracy rates in the world[10] and the second largest out of school population (5.1 million children)

Athlete - Jesse cricket and football player. This video may be usefull for coaches who work with young athletes less than13yrs old. We want to teach good movement skills but not over coach. Let environment and task help the athlete find the solution. Kids do not necessarily need to care about relative stiffness and motor control, they need to have some fun training and learning. Remember if we always give them a solution they are stuck with just one solution, who knows they might just come up with better solution then we can provide at times.
Key points for coaches not kids
1. Having a light object will provide an external stimulus in task specific learning.
2. Progress from small 2 dimensional objects to 3 dimensional gradually.
3. Creating motor control through movement of extremeties with trunk stability and relaxed breathing.
4. Focus on subtle weight shift.
5. Progress from kness to feet -observe quality.
6. Linear and lateral crawl patterns sometimes tend to have influence on more dynamic work such as walking, sprinting and shuffling.
7. Remember its not always about trunk being stiff but more about timing of stiffness, ability for an athlete to contract and relax is key to effecient motor control.
8. Avoid too many coaching cues such as abs tight, gluteals tight etc.
9. Observing excessive motion around lower back in relation to hips and arms -path of least resistance.
