This is the best version I know of the song "Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring" (BWV 147) (with lyrics too) by Johann Sebastian Bach. It was conducted by Leopold Stokowski and released by RCA Victor Records in 1992 on a CD entitled "Bach: Greatest Hits". Silver is the third release and second EP by Jesu, released by Hydra Head Records on April 11, 2006. This album, their second EP, shows a more melodic and poppy side than the previously crushing Jesu releases, gaining comparisons to legendary shoegazer bands such as My Bloody Valentine and Ride. The Japanese version of this album contains two additional mixes of the songs "Silver" and "Wolves".

Jesu is a post-metal band formed in 2003 by Justin Broadrick following the breakup of Godflesh. Jesu was the name of the last song on the final Godflesh release, Hymns, and Broadrick decided to adopt it as the name of this project.
Jesu's sound is heavily layered and textured, drawing from and incorporating an eclectic mix of influences, ranging from ambient music, drone doom, to shoegazing, downtempo and industrial music. Broadrick himself has made it known that he does not consider Jesu to fall into any of these categories and that he has been intentionally writing what he considers to be coherent and structured pop songs.
Jesu's first release, the Heart Ache EP, was released in 2004 and featured Broadrick performing all of the instruments and vocals alone. It was followed in 2005 by the full-length self-titled LP, which featured the addition of bassist Diarmuid Dalton and drummer Ted Parsons, although not every song features both members. A spring 2005 tour of Europe, in support of the album, featured Roderic Mounir of Knut filling in for Ted Parsons on drums.

Unlike the EP, this features a full band (Ted Parsons: Drums/Percussion, Dermot Dalton/Bass tracks 1, 3, 4, 8) with a guest appearance from Paul Neville on guitars (track 7). Justin is credited for Vocals, Guitar, Bass and Programming. All songs written and produced by Justin. Recorded and mixed at Avalanche, 2001-2004. Drums recorded in Oslo.
