This video explores the history of the U.S. dollar from 1776 to the present, seeking to answer the question "What is a dollar?"
The United States fired off a ballistic missile test, which would have been armed with a nuclear device, off the coast of California to send a message to China, Russia and the American people – despite a great deal of controversy and condemnation when other countries have tested these missiles in the past. Of course, officially, it was all just a regularly scheduled drill.
The real message, between the lines, is stark, however. The United States is indicating that it would sooner go to war with the Far East than suffer the defeat of an intense currency war over the rising yuan.
A few years back, Rand Corporation and Pentagon planners actually debated whether or not to launch WWIII as a solution to the 2008 economic crisis... what must they be thinking now as the U.S. dollar paradigm is quickly falling to pieces and economic destruction looms overhead?

The US Federal Reserve, the Fed, is due to raise interest rates on Wednesday evening for the first time since 2006. If it doesn’t move, it will be a huge surprise. Assuming US rates rise as expected, here are six things to watch.At the moment the Fed has set a target of between 0 and 0.25 per cent for what is called the Fed funds rates.0.25 and 0.5 per cent. - a big one. Also watch comments from Fed chair Janet Yellen at her press conference after the announcement, where markets will look for any indication of the pace of interest rate increase which the Fed expects for 2016. The expectation is a slow pace - the market fear is that even deposits. rates have been so low for so long that there are some dangers here of what is being called a “bumpy take-off” in the actual manoeuvre of increasing rates.words investors have been long expecting it. However markets are nervous and there are other factors playing in here, too - including the oil price, fears 2016 would be particularly damaging to cy by increasing the attraction of holding dollar assets. However here again there is a possibility that the change is already “ priced in”. The dollar has actually weakened at the start of some earlier rate rise cycles. Here are 10 things you may not know about dollar bills.
When it comes to dollars, most people are quite skilled at spending them. A firm grasp on the trivia and history behind the bucks, however, is often a bit more elusive.
Here are 10 things you may not know about dollar bills.
Number 10. They’re on drugs. An estimated 90 percent of all circulating US paper currency has traces of cocaine on it. The levels typically aren’t dangerous, and sometimes the amount is thousands of times smaller than a grain of sand.
Number 9. Bills are printed on really fancy paper. Much like expensive stationery, the stock used for money making is mostly cotton. The remaining parts are primarily linen fibers, ensuring the currency is strong enough to withstand handling, folding, and accidental washing.
Number 8. There used to be 100 Thousand Dollar Bills. They didn’t circulate through public channels, but there were some printed in the 1930s to facilitate Federal Reserve Bank internal transactions.
Number 7. Money lifespans vary significantly. On average, a 5-dollar bill only makes the rounds for 5 years. A hundred, on the other hand, can survive for up to 15. The currency with the shortest life expectancy is the 50, with an average survival time of just over 3 and a half years.
Number 6. It costs money to make money. The expense involved in printing dollars depends upon the denomination. Singles run about a nickel a piece and 5s, 10s, and 20s around a dime. Inking hundreds costs just over 12 cents per note.
Number 5. Old money gets recycled. Once it’s been taken out of circulation and shredded it goes on to be used in a number of secondary ways. Among those it’s sold to are Bureau of Printing and Engraving facility visitors, roof shingle makers, and the people who manufacture those novelty pens that have torn up bills in them.
Number 4. If your money stops working, you can get a refund. Each year the US Treasury responds to around 30 thousand requests to have severely damaged and thus unusable bills replaced. The redemptions sent out total an average of 30 million dollars.
Number 3. Our money contains a message from our founding fathers. In designing the seal that appears on backside of the 1 dollar bill, great thought was put into the words that would go on to future generations. The text on the pyramid side translates as, “A New Order of the Ages" and "Providence Has Favored Our Undertakings."
Number 2. Bills are designed to glow under ultra-violet light. The larger ones are, anyway. Newer printings of 5 dollars and above denominations have security threads in them that shine various colors under UV bulbs.
Number 1. The money tree died in 2006. The elm that’s depicted on the back of the 20 once stood near a doorway to the White House’s residential area. It was destroyed when a severe summer storm descended upon the mid-Atlantic region.

China have suspended their banks from the Foreign Exchange markets and ordered them to stop buying U.S. Dollars. China’s foreign exchange regulator has ordered bank’s to limit the purchases of U.S. dollars for at least one month in an attempt to stem capital outflows. The move comes as China reported its biggest annual drop in foreign exchange reserves on record in 2015, while the central bank has allowed a sharp slide in the Yuan currency to multi-year lows, raising fears of more capital flight.
All banks in certain trading hubs, including Shenzhen, received the order recently, the people added. They declined to be identified because they are not allowed to speak to the media.
Officials at State Administration of Foreign Exchange did not immediately respond to comment.
China also suspended forex business for some foreign banks, including Deutsche, DBS and Standard Chartered at the end of last year.
While three sources for this story claim they were told that this is an effort to stem the outflow of capital, a different source says something altogether different is taking place: the belief in China that the US Dollar is now worthless and will soon totally collapse as a currency, leaving everyone who holds dollars, broke. Washington may lose the support of the EU in Ukraine, should the States refuses to implement the nuclear deal with Iran. This may also collapse the US dollar as a reserve currency, Secretary of State John Kerry said in New York as he was promoting the deal with Iran.
"If Congress rejects the Iran nuclear deal, "that is a recipe, very quickly, my friends, businesspeople here, for the American dollar to cease to be the reserve currency of the world, which is already bubbling out there."
As the US Secretary of State said, EU member states may no longer support the sanctions against Russia should Congress does not approve of the Iranian deal. The US dollar would thus lose the status of the reserve currency.
Noteworthy, US Congress does not show much support for the nuclear deal with Iran. It is Republican senators that express negative views on the subject.
On July 14, representatives of Iran and the group of six (Russia, China, USA, France, Germany, Great Britain and the EU) reached an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program. It was decided that international sanctions against Iran should be lifted.
According to Vladimir Putin, the world sighed with relief after the agreement with Iran was reached. The pure silver dollar is known as the American Silver Eagle. Section 5112 also provides for the minting and issuance of other coins, which have values ranging from one cent to fifty dollars. John Forbes Kerry (born December 11, 1943) is the senior United States Senator from Massachusetts, the 10th most senior United States Senator and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He was the presidential nominee of the Democratic Party in the 2004 presidential election, but lost to then President George W. Bush.
The son of an Army Air Corps serviceman, Kerry was born in Aurora, Colorado. He attended boarding school in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and went on to graduate from Yale University class of 1966, where he majored in political science. He enlisted in the Naval Reserve in 1966 and, during 1968-1969, served a four-month tour of duty in South Vietnam as officer-in-charge (OIC) of a Swift Boat. For that service he was awarded several combat medals that include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and three Purple Hearts. After returning to the United States, Kerry joined the Vietnam Veterans Against the War in which he served as a nationally recognized spokesperson and as an outspoken opponent of the Vietnam war. During that period, he appeared before the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs where he deemed United States war policy in Vietnam to be the cause of "war crimes".

Assuming US rates rise as expected, here are six things to watch.At the moment the Fed has set a target of between 0 and 0.25 per cent for what is called the Fed funds rates.0.25 and 0.5 per cent. - a big one. Also watch comments from Fed chair Janet Yellen at her press conference after the announcement, where markets will look for any indication of the pace of interest rate increase which the Fed expects for 2016. The expectation is a slow pace - the market fear is that even deposits. rates have been so low for so long that there are some dangers here of what is being called a “bumpy take-off” in the actual manoeuvre of increasing rates.words investors have been long expecting it. However markets are nervous and there are other factors playing in here, too - including the oil price, fears 2016 would be particularly damaging to cy by increasing the attraction of holding dollar assets. When it comes to dollars, most people are quite skilled at spending them. A firm grasp on the trivia and history behind the bucks, however, is often a bit more elusive.
Here are 10 things you may not know about dollar bills.
Number 10. They’re on drugs. An estimated 90 percent of all circulating US paper currency has traces of cocaine on it. The levels typically aren’t dangerous, and sometimes the amount is thousands of times smaller than a grain of sand.
Number 9. Bills are printed on really fancy paper. Much like expensive stationery, the stock used for money making is mostly cotton. The remaining parts are primarily linen fibers, ensuring the currency is strong enough to withstand handling, folding, and accidental washing.
Number 8. There used to be 100 Thousand Dollar Bills. They didn’t circulate through public channels, but there were some printed in the 1930s to facilitate Federal Reserve Bank internal transactions.
Number 7. Money lifespans vary significantly. On average, a 5-dollar bill only makes the rounds for 5 years. A hundred, on the other hand, can survive for up to 15. The currency with the shortest life expectancy is the 50, with an average survival time of just over 3 and a half years.
Number 6. It costs money to make money. The expense involved in printing dollars depends upon the denomination. Singles run about a nickel a piece and 5s, 10s, and 20s around a dime. Inking hundreds costs just over 12 cents per note.

U.S. DOLLAR COLLAPSE 2016 - China Orders Banks To Drop The USD
China have suspended their banks from the Foreign Exchange markets and ordered them to stop buying U.S. Dollars. China’s foreign exchange regulator has ordered bank’s to limit the purchases of U.S. dollars for at least one month in an attempt to stem capital outflows. The move comes as China reported its biggest annual drop in foreign exchange reserves on record in 2015, while the central bank has allowed a sharp slide in the Yuan currency to multi-year lows, raising fears of more capital flight.
All banks in certain trading hubs, including Shenzhen, received the order recently, the people added. They declined to be identified because they are not allowed to speak to the media.
Officials at State Administration of Foreign Exchange did not immediately respond to comment.
China also suspended forex business for some foreign banks, including Deutsche, DBS and Standard Chartered at the end of last year.
While three sources for this story claim they were told that this is an effort to stem the outflow of capital, a different source says something altogether different is taking place: the belief in China that the US Dollar is now worthless and will soon totally collapse as a currency, leaving everyone who holds dollars, broke. As the US Secretary of State said, EU member states may no longer support the sanctions against Russia should Congress does not approve of the Iranian deal. The US dollar would thus lose the status of the reserve currency.
Noteworthy, US Congress does not show much support for the nuclear deal with Iran. It is Republican senators that express negative views on the subject.
On July 14, representatives of Iran and the group of six (Russia, China, USA, France, Germany, Great Britain and the EU) reached an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program. It was decided that international sanctions against Iran should be lifted.
According to Vladimir Putin, the world sighed with relief after the agreement with Iran was reached.
