Come to Boston to discover a city with roots in both the past and future.
Classic Boston sightseeing begins with walking the Freedom Trail for a bird’s-eye view of the American Revolution, including Boston Common and “Old Ironsides,” the USS Constitution. Stop by some of the most prestigious colleges in the nation, including Harvard and Tufts University. Continue your Boston tour with a stop at Faneuil Hall, which has served as a marketplace since 1742, and check out a variety of shops and street performers.
No trip to Boston is complete without paying homage at Fenway Park, where the Red Sox have held court for over a century. Don’t forget to fuel up with food afterward; Boston boasts a variety of restaurants, ranging from fresh seafood to classic Italian and everything in between.

Visiting Boston? This beautiful city has so much to offer. Watch more than 25 video guides at www.vidtur.com with all the top attractions and landmarks in and around the city. here are the 10 must see attractions in Boston not in a particular order to help you plan the perfect vacation.
In a city that is the home of the nation's top universities, we can start our list in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, AKA MIT, located in Cambridge. this great institute features 168 acres of architectural buildings, statuary and the MIT Museum. One of the highlights of the MIT is the Stata Center, a complex known for its controversial design, built in 2004 and designed by the well-known architect Frank Gehry.
At number 9 we suggest the Massachusetts state house. the 1797 historic landmark is one of the 16 stops of the famous Freedom trail. watch our special video on this trail at Vidtur.com. the Massachusetts state house is one of the most beautiful buildings in the trail, mainly recognized by it's gilded dome, and red brick façade. and it is located in one of Boston's most beautiful naighborhoods, Beacon Hill. Guided tours of the historic building are available all year long, for free! As you may imagine, this is not the only landmark from the Freedom trail on our list...
At number 8 we recommend the oldest public park in Boston, the Boston Common. The peacefull park was not so peacfull before the 1817, as it was used for public hangings. located in the heart of the city, this huge park features some of the mst popular sights of Boston, and it is also the first station of the freedom Trail. Watch our special video guides on the Public Garden and Downtown Boston.
Number 7 is Prudential center. This commercial complex features many of the most popular shops in the fashion world. One of the exciting attractions is the Prudential Skywalk in the 50th floor of the Prudential Tower, which is one of the tallest skyscrapers of Boston. The “Top of the Hub” restaurant on the last floor is a great place to view the whole city and enjoy a tasty meal. Check Vidtur.com and learn how to save money when visiting the Skywalk observatory on the 50th' floor
For those of you who love baseball, number 6 is a historic landmark! Fenway park is home to one of the most popular teams in the history of the US, the Red Sox. “The Green Monster” was opened in 1912, and it went through many changes since then. the park also hosted some of the unforgitable concerts in the US, like the famous Ray Charles appearance in 1973.
At number 5 We are leaving Boston and heading to Concord and lexington. two towns that played an important role in the history of the revolitionary war, and an extremely popular tourist destination. check vidtur.com fror several video guides about top attractions in both cities.
At number 4 we are back at UNI. This time we have Harvard. in the middle of this old university you can enjoy the Harvard Yard area, where many historic buildings are, like the oldest academic building in the US, which was built in 1720. this and many other great attractions are located in the 25 acres of grassy area of the uni.
Time to do some shopping. with More than 100 stores are available in our number 3 attraction. quincy market is packed with upscale restaurants and food stalls and more. Visit the market at the weekend, when many outdoor shows take place. the market is located in Downtown Boston, so watch our video guides on this area and learn about Faneuil Hall building.
At number 2, visit one of the city's most popular sqaures, Copley square.famous for the most famous churches in the US, the Trinity Church. the church is well-known for its unique Romanesque style, designed by Henry Hobson Richardson. Copley square is also the home to Boston Public Library and to the second tallest skyscraper in Boston, the John Hancock Tower. the combination of new and old buildings in the small square gives it a great atmosphere you will not want to miss!
At number 1 we will take you for a tour on the uss constitution, an invincible warship located in Boston Naval Shipyard. Boston is the capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Massachusetts, officially the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. One of the oldest cities in the United States, Boston was founded on the Shawmut Peninsula in 1630 by Puritan colonists from England.
The most important places to visit in Boston are: Boston Common (starting point for Freedom Trail, dating back to 1634, this central public park is loved by locals as well as visitors), Massachusetts State Building (given its gold dome, the state capital can not be missed. It is the seat of the Massachusetts government), Faneuil Hall (constructed in 1742, it has been an important meeting hall. Today there's a market that offers many places to eat and shop), Beacon Hill (a famous historical neighborhood of Boston, amidst its well preserved streets, you will feel like you've gone back in time), Granary (part of the Freedom Trail, it was built in 1660. The site is the resting place for many prominent personalities and statesmen), Trinity Church (said to be one of the greatest buildings in the country, for a special treat, attend a concert during Christmas season), Harvard University (considered to be the world's greatest academic institution, you can tour its campus to soak in the wonderful ambiance), Copley Square (many important buildings with diverse architecture styles are here. This is also the site of the Boston Marathon's finish line) and many more.
If you want to save time and money, the most important Boston travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

Prospective Clinical Study to Assess, Diagnosis and Treat Late-Effect Intracranial Injury
Atlanta, GA - a recent Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) study conducted by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs in conjunction with Boston University revealed characteristic pathologic findings in 87 of 91 deceased NFL Players exhumed for post-mortem examination. In total, the small investigational study identified CTE in the brain tissue of 131 of 165 individuals who, before their deaths, played football professionally, on the collegiate level, or in high school. All of the subjects were presumed to have experienced traumatic brain injury at some point during their athletic careers.
The body of research that has drawn a correlation between concussive injury and laboratory evidence of CTE is growing. The BU study suggests that the epidemiologic scale of CTE could be much larger than had been suspected. From former athletes to retired military personnel and other unspecified methods of exposure, the epidemiology of this disease could be very broad.
“Fourteen years in the league has taken a toll on me; but recognizing and accepting the reality of CTE? All players should clearly be made aware of the possibilities and what’s really going on.”
~Deion Sanders, 2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame Inductee & DripFusion Institute Board of Advisors Member
Atlanta-based DripFusion Institute, in collaboration with several organizations including Florida State University College of Medicine, is announcing a prospective clinical study to assess, diagnose, and treat the late effects of intracranial injury, commonly referred to as CTE.
For this investigational prospective study, we are specifically seeking to enroll former National Football League players. Based on recent evidence obtained in the VA-BU study, we believe that there is a high likelihood that this demographic will provide a sufficient number of subjects to collect preliminary evidence to support the theories asserted in the study design.

On this episode of Lost in Boston, Collin and Chris visit Josh and Grace at Boston University! They head to Newbury Street while everyone is in class since it's midterm season. Chris continues to write the description in third person because he's stupid.
On another note, the food at Boston University is great and I'm sad I didn't record any of it. Sorry Josh and Kenny for not recording you too much either. I guess the food was just that good.
Special thanks to Grace, Josh, Hyunji, and Kenny for being part of this awesome day!

The greatest Stravinsky masterpiece you’ve never heard and the greatest Fauré we all love come together in this unusual concert, an otherworldly, evocative, and provocative evening. Perséphone, Igor Stravinsky’s ballet recounting the timeless story of the Greek goddess, majestic queen of the underworld who represents both harvest and fertility, has been called the gentle Rite of Spring. Its luminous serenity floats, rather than stomps, its radiant sheen, as well as its religious undercurrent—sacrifice, resurrection, rebirth—finds a perfect companion in the reflective, eloquent Requiem of Gabriel Fauré.

Boston University College of Fine Arts presents Igor Stravinsky’s Persèphone and Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem—Monday, November 23rd, 2015 at Symphony Hall.
Boston University Symphony Orchestra & Chorus at Symphony Hall
Performing Gabriel Fauré’s “Requiem” and Igor Stravinsky’s “Perséphone”
Requiem Scott Allen Jarrett, conductor
With Baritone Benjamin Taylor and Soprano Ruby White
Perséphone David Hoose, conductor
With Sara Heaton, Perséphone, and Yeghishe Manucharyan, Eumolpe

A Bionic Pancreas for Type 1 Diabetes: The Long-Awaited Alternative to the Ever-Elusive Cure
Presented by Edward Damiano, Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering
Edward R. Damiano is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering in the Boston University College of Engineering, where he has taught since 2004. His expertise and training are in the areas of mechanical and biomedical engineering, applied mechanics, and applied mathematics.
Professor Damiano has gained worldwide attention over the last decade for groundbreaking work in the treatment of Type 1 diabetes. Ever since his 15-year-old son, David, was diagnosed at 11 months of age, Professor Damiano has been committed to the development of a bionic endocrine pancreas – a device that mimics its namesake through a closed-loop, automatic control algorithm that manages blood sugar levels through the delivery of insulin and glucagon.
Starting with a seed grant from the BU Coulter Translational Research Program in 2006, Professor Damiano has gone on to raise more than $14 million to support his research from a variety of sources, including the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He has tirelessly driven the designs of the experimental protocols and the clinical trials necessary to move the technology towards FDA approval and commercial availability. The device has been successfully used in trials by dozens of adults and children, and now includes a special iPhone app that assists patients in monitoring and controlling glucose levels and insulin needs.
The author of dozens of seminal journal articles and seminars exploring endocrinology and biomechanics, Professor Damiano is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he also received his PhD in Applied Mechanics. He received his Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. In addition to his work at BU, he is an Associate Biomedical Engineer in the Division of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.

The Boston University high school workshop, entitled “Whose Jerusalem?” has been conducted in many schools across the U.S., including in Weston High School in Massachusetts. AOH workshops on the Arab-Israeli conflict reflect a highly inaccurate account of history, fail to meet the basic rules of evidence and logic and attempt to indoctrinate students, especially Jewish students, against the state of Israel.
APT president Charles Jacobs said, “Axis of Bias @ Weston High School’ (www.endmiseducation.org) shows how AOH exploits the concept of ‘global education’ in order to promote an anti- Israel and anti-American political agenda.”
In an interview with Al Jazeera TV, AOH founder Carl Hobert defines his program as “Educational, civil disobedience where students are … putting pressure on our government to create a Palestinian state. He also teaches that the use of military drones by the United States is terrorism — a high tech version of suicide bombers.”
Hobert acknowledged that he received guidance in developing the workshop from prominent anti-Israel professors including MIT’s Noam Chomsky and Northeastern University’s Denis Sullivan.
As part of simulated negotiation exercises, workshop teachers are instructed to single out Jewish students for roles that have them empathizing with Hamas. Hamas explicitly calls for the genocide of all Jews in its founding covenant.
Dr. Sandra Stotsky, Former Senior Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Education, said, “this is a must-see video for parents who care about their children’s education and want educators with academic integrity in the classroom.”
Dr. Sandra Alfonsi, president of Hadassah’s “Curriculum Watch,” said, “Axis of Hope is a pedagogically flawed program by a self-styled guru of Educational Civil Disobedience promoting anti-Israel propaganda to well-meaning students who want to bring peace to the world.”
“Despite its bias and serious flaws, the Boston University/AOH workshop is Common Core compliant, and is being is being promoted by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the National Association of Independent Schools, and the Massachusetts Council for Social Studies,” said Jacobs.
“The Axis of Hope workshop is one of many initiatives that seek to promote anti-Israel or anti Jewish propaganda in American classrooms under the banner of teaching “dialogue for peace,” “critical thinking skills” or “conflict resolution skills.”
Jacobs noted, “At a time of growing anti-Semitism on U.S college campuses, it is very disturbing that both Boston University and Weston High School would permit or promote such biased educational materials in the classroom.”
