What are Location Services used for?


Location Services on your browser are used for mobile sites or websites that have features and functions based on where you are currently located. In Good Food, Location Services are required for our Geolocation widgets, like the Nearby component, or if you would prefer browsing State specific content based on your current location.

How often is the Nearby Geolocation widget refreshed?


This component will check for your location every 15 minutes. The results returned will be based on your last detected location.

How do I turn on my Location Services for the Nearby Geolocation widgets to work?


To use any of our Good Food Mobile Location widgets (such as the Nearby widget on the mobile homepage), you must ensure your Location Services are switched on. To do this:


  • on your iPhone: Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Turn Location Services On, and also Safari On.
  • on your Android: Settings > Location > Settings > Location Access. Ensure GPS, Wifi Network and Access My Location are all turned on. Note, Location Services options may vary on Android devices. Refer to your device manual or contact your device Customer Services.

If my Location Services are turned on, why are the Nearby Geolocation widgets not working?


If you have declined Location Services previously, ensure they are turned on On through your Settings. Then go back to goodfood.com.au and click on the Geolocation widget. When you see the device default message asking you to give the site permissions for Location Services, select Yes. Widget should then work. It may take up to 30 seconds for the widget to work depending on your internet connection.


I have already said Yes to Location Services. Why does it keep asking me again?


You may get the message referring you to this FAQ's page if a connection has failed during searching for Locations, the Location has timed out, if you have said Yes/No previously on your browser settings or have previously denied permissions.

Ensure they are turned on On through your Settings. Then go back to goodfood.com.au and click on the Nearby Geolocation widget. When you see the device default message asking you to give the site permissions for Location Services, select Yes. Widget should then work. It may take up to 30 seconds for the widget to work depending on your internet connection.

When returning back to the site, the default device "Accept Location."
