accion-directa-wallmapuCommunique

The Arauco Malleco Coordinator of Communities in Conflict (CAM) communicates the following to our Mapuche Nation and public opinion the following:

Kiñe: We, the Pehuenche Lientur Organs of Territorial Resistance (ORT-CAM), claim the action against the worker’s kitchen installations of the Angostura Central Hydroelectric Dam, on the mourning of Sunday, January 24th. This action will be carried out once more on other installations of the same characteristics in the region.

Epu: At the same time, we claim all the actions carried out in Upper Bio-Bio, ancient Pehuenche territory. These actions have been carried out mainly against the Angostura and Piltrilon Hydroelectric Dams, property of the Colbun group under the Matte tycoon family estate.

Kula: We also claim the actions of sabotage, under the Nagche Pelentaro ORT-CAM, against the logging machinery in the Santa Elvira estate, in the township of Capitan Pastene, Lumaco. The actions were coordinated with the previous ones, carried out simultaneously.

Meli: With this we seek to demonstrate, as an organization, the continuation of our lines of action and resistance. We our permanent compromise for the reconstruction of our nation, we assume a frontal struggle against the expressions of Capitalism through the military actions by the ORT-CAM. At the same time, we are also strengthening our territorial and productive control of our ancient territory, fundamental elements to set the basis of our Mapuche national liberation.

Kechu: We further announce, that as the Arauco Malleco Coordinator of Communities in Conflict, we give free range of action to our ORT-CAM. They therefore can define their actions according to their respective realities, respecting the ethics, norms and strategic political principles as an organization and as Mapuche.

Kayu: Finally, we call out to our communities to continue to struggle against capitalism. To dignify our condition as a Mapuche Nation. To resist and reconstruct our own paths.

COMUNICADO

CAM: “Our Struggle will Give Continuity to National Reconstruction in Wallmapu, to Expulse Capitalism Definitively”

Conflicto mapuchePublic Communique (Castellano Abajo)

The Coordinator of Mapuche Communities in Conflict (CAM) communicate the following to our Mapuche Nation and public opinion:

Kiñe: A land reclamation process has begun in the Choque Estate in the area of Paillaco, province of Arauco this past December 19th, encompassing more than 10,000 hectares of land that are currently in the hands of Mininco Forestry Incorporate. This territorial reclamation process has been carried out by our organization, which will take on a productive character as well as incorporate territorial, cultural, spiritual, and political aspects of Mapuche cosmology. This includes the dismantling of artificial forests, and preparation of farm work.  At the same time, these actions enable the ngellatuwe and paliwe, continuing our path towards autonomy and national Mapuche liberation in response to continuous usurpation and repression, as well as demonstrating our political, ideological, cultural responsibilities as Mapuche Peoples.

Epu: We will assume resistance as an integral action, respecting our Mapuche normative ethics, referring to our Mapuche laws (Mapu Ka Ad Mogen), defense (Introfil Mongen), and principles (feyentun) as people with norms and values (Pu Noche). We are therefore recomposing the respect to our traditional authorities, ways of life, relations and mode of production for survival.

Kula: This action, under the framework of national reconstruction based on territorial control, intends to deepen aspects that are being abandoned by other expressions of the Mapuche movement and their communities. We state this conscientiously, since there have been reclamation processes that have focused on the mercantile production, centering solely on the commercialization of wood. This is problematically linked to extractive processes, creating vital contradictions with our worldview as Mapuche autonomists, deviating the movement. It is for this reason that we should situate productive occupations with a focus on sustainability, integrity and coherence with our Mapuche cosmology.

Meli: Our compromise with the struggle will give continuity to national reconstruction from a socio-political perspective, in which we confront the advances of Capitalism in Wallmapu in order to expulse it definitively. Particularly, against forestry companies and mega hydroelectric projects as well as against the Chilean State through its various military operations. Therefore, the Groups of Territorial Resistance (ORT) of our organization will continue the actions of sabotage on ancient Mapuche territory.

Keechu: Therefore, it is our duty as the CAM is to sharpen and strengthen our political and territorial autonomy as a nation, through the consolidation of our own process of self-affirmation, action and direct struggle. In this way, resisting any form of subjugation, which strengthen contradictions and antagonisms, assuming the challenges of the struggle with dignity, while distancing ourselves from State intervention and market logic.

Kayu: We call on our Nation to define a proposal for resistance, territorial reclamation and national composition, which should not include those that promote greater divisions and confrontation between our people and communities. We speak of struggles that do not fall into mobster-like deviations, sects and paramilitary expressions, which generate actions that contradict our perspective of political action. These include the theft of lumber and animals between our own people, or armed actions and harassment against poor [non-Mapuche] peasants. The rectification of these actions is also our responsibility in order to reconstruct our Mapuche nation.

Regle: Lastly, in the days leading up to new commemoration of the murder of Weichafe [Warrior] Matias Catrileo, we remember our Peñi [Brother] by stating that the best homage we can pay is to continue the resistance struggle.

COMUNICADO

Mapuche Territorial Resistance Group of the CAM claim responsibility for Sabotage (See Spanish Below)

(See Spanish below| Ver Castellano Abajo)

foto_0000000120150910232723The Mapuche Territorial Resistance Group Lafkenche Laftraru of the Arauco Malleco Coordinator of Communities in Conflict (CAM) communicate the following to the Mapuche Nation and public opinion:

Kiñe: We claim responsibility for the sabotage against the logging machinery and equipment owned by subcontractors of Mininco Forestry Incorporate within the Estate of Choque, where there was heavy police presence that we confronted.

Epu: The action was carried out in the framework of the just and ancient territorial reclamation by the Choque and Miquihue communities, which have historically taken place in the area. This process of ancient territorial land reclamation incorporates the “El Canelo,” “Puntilla de Ranaquepe,” and “Fundo Choque” estates.

Kula: This action is one of many diverse actions of resistance that the ORT CAM have engaged. We have and will continue to take on national reconstruction and territorial control, fundamental pillars of our Mapuche national liberation project and unrestricted right to rebel against ongoing usurpation and repression.

Meli: Moreover, this action is in response to our permanent compromise in confronting the Capitalist expansion on Mapuche Territory and towards its definitive expulsion. Particularly, against forestry companies and the Chilean State, which grotesquely strengthen this depraving extractive model, through laws such as No 701.

Kechu: Therefore, within this context is our responsibility as ORT CAM to consolidate our political and territorial autonomy as a Nation, through the strengthening of our own processes of self-affirmation and action. In this way ending any type of subordination, dignifying our struggle with political military actions, which allow us to continue our resistance for national liberation. We will continue our struggle unto the depredation and domination.

COMUNICADO

Riots errupt as racist Chilean Trucker Association march arrives at Presidential Palace in Santiago

2171934The march led by Jorge Luchsinger Junior, estate owner and son of slain occupying settlers Jorge Luchsinger and Miriam Mackay, arrived at Santiago’s Presidential Palace at 9pm in protest of arson attacks carried out on logging transport equipment by Mapuche land defenders.
A caravan of 13 trucks traveled from Wallmapu, occupied Mapuche Territory, to the Chilean capital, carrying the machines that had been set ablaze in the region. The increase of ongoing State repression and criminalization of Mapuche communities in resistance was the objective of the march, which stopped and blocked traffic along various cities across the country in order to provoke confrontation.
a_uno_568612-730x487Although initially hesitant to receive the caravan, the Chilean Government agreed to chat with the march leaders at the Presidential Palace through the Interior Minister, Jorge Burgos, after a brief meeting with right-wing UDI party President, Hernan Larrain. This was a swift change of plans from what march leaders sought out initially, which was to hand in a letter to Chilean President, Michelle Bachelet, petitioning for increased security measures for logging operations in Wallmapu.
Mapuche Protest in Retaliation & Street Riots

"We Demand to Work in Peace" as a protester rips the sign

“We Demand to Work in Peace” as a protester rips the sign

The Association’s efforts to provoke public support in their ongoing plunder of Wallmapu inadvertently led Mapuche organizations and their supporters to organize counter rallies across the country, including their final destination at the Presidential Palace. Among other kinds of protests carried out were traditional Mapuche ceremonies (Llellipun), and a call out to raise traditional Mapuche flags wherever supporters resided.

fgfg-730x236
fg-730x235According to Radio Bio-Bio, the association was greeted by a large crowd of hundreds with rocks and molotov cocktails upon their arrival along Santiago’s main street, La Alameda, damaging vehicles along the final march route. However, special police forces quickly came to the defense of Association, firing tear gas and water canons at the protesters, where many were arrested.
Historical Aiding in Plunder and Genocide
Within Chilean society, the Truckers Association is widely known to have deep rooted right wing/fascistic roots, most notably their role in the destabilization of the Allende Socialist Popular Unity government. During the 1972 -73 Truckers Strike, trade professionals were aided by the United States government in order to delegitimize Allende’s credibility as a statesman, which later laid the groundwork necessary for the Coup of September 11th, 1973, and the subsequent fascist military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.
a_uno_568609-730x486The march carried out by the Truckers Association today is particularly gruesome, given the colonial settler nature of the estate owners involved in the mobilization. Matias Catrileo Quezada, a Mapuche Warrior at the time with the Arauco Malleco Coordinator, was murdered by militarized police while engaging in a peaceful land occupation in the Jorge Luchsinger estate on January 3rd, 2008 (an estate also owned by Jorge Luchsinger Junior). Chilean Police officer, Walter Ramirez, received only a mild slap on the wrist for Matias’ murder, convicted to 3 years and a day of probation, as was the case with many other officers who had murdered at least 4 Mapuche warriors throughout the last decade and a half.
Escalation in the Mapuche conflict reached its peak in January 2013, when the Luchsinger-Mackay estate was set ablaze by unknown actors, leaving the couple inside to be incinerated. Increased raids to Mapuche Communities in resistance and arrests followed thereafter, leading to the mass conviction of Mapuche warriors, some for up to 18 years in prison, as the case of Machi [Medicine Healer] Celestino.
The ongoing attack of corporate and state interests against Mapuche communities in resistance continues in Wallmapu, with its current manifestation in this Thursday’s Truckers Association caravan.

Students across Chile & Wallmapu Clash with Police over Education Reforms

CGHcMuEUIAIGM561

May 30th, 2015 (Photo Gallery Below)

Chilean police fired tear gas and used water cannons to disperse stone-throwing students protesting May 28 against what they call inadequate education reforms and heavy-handed crackdowns on recent demonstrations.

Thousands of students took to the streets of Santiago, Valparaiso, and Concepcion to condemn President Michelle Bachelet’s reforms, claiming they fall short of overhauling an unequal education system inherited from the 1973-1990 military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.

The protest began in the early morning hours as students dragged piles of rubbish into the streets and set them on fire, blocking traffic.

Demonstrators then massed outside the education ministry and state television network.

After being dispersed by police, thousands of protesters again took to the streets May 28 night. Hooded protesters gathered around a government building where they erected barricades and attempted to loot shops, police said.

Police reported four officers were hurt in the demonstrations.

“We’re still a very long way from achieving our dreams. The reforms are very inadequate,” student leader Claudia Arevalo told AFP.

The students, who have been protesting against the education system since 2011, also accused police of using excessive force to break up recent demonstrations.

An art student from Catholic University is currently in critical condition after being knocked to the ground and badly injured by a police water cannon during a protest that brought out six thousand students in the port city of Valparaiso last week.

The critically injured student was identified as Rodrigo Aviles Bravo, 28, who received the strong impact from a Special Police Forces water-cannon truck on Pedro Montt Avenue. Witnesses said the student at the Catholic University of Santiago, was hit in the chest at close range, where he lost his balance and hit his head on the pavement. The student was taken to the Carlos Van Buren Hospital in the port city, where he has been monitored in the ICU for head trauma in critical condition. In the same way, 19 year old student of AIEP Valparaiso, Paulina Estay, was taken to the hospital after being hit by Special Forces on the sidewalk of Parque Italia.

These incidents occurred around the seat of the Legislature, in the center of Valparaiso, where a group the Carabineros (militarized police) had set up barricades to block the advance of the protest. People tried to remove the barriers and police began with baton charges, water cannons and tear-gas to disperse the protesters who responded by throwing stones and objects at the police Special Forces.

Protesters with banners also recalled the death of students Exequiel Borvarán and Diego Guzman, who were shot two weeks ago by a suspect after participating in a march in Valparaiso.

555e2bcba4ba6.imagePolice once again used water cannons as well as tear gas on May 28th as masked protesters attacked them with sticks and stones during an unauthorized march through the center of the capital.

Bachelet won a second term in 2013 with promises to launch an ambitious reform of the education system.

In January, she signed the first reform bill, opening university education to all students and banning for-profit activities at state-funded schools.

Last week, she announced a bill to provide free university education to 60 percent of the poorest students starting next year, reaching 70 percent in 2018 and 100 percent in 2020.

But her reform push has slowed amid a series of damaging corruption scandals, including one involving her son, that have dented her popularity — currently at 29 percent, her lowest rating ever.

TAMARA SOL Public Communique + Update on Transfer to High Security Prison

Tamara Sol Farís Vergara is Transferred to High Security Prison

This Wednesday, May 27th, 2015, Tamara Sol Farías Vergara was transferred to the ill-named “Centre for Feminine Orientation” (COF) located at Vicuña Mackenna and Capitan Prat streets in San Joaquin, Santiago.

The prison guard, Jenny Muñoz Gajardo, a Commandant who is in charge of the incarceration of over 500 women in the [prison] centre of extermination of “San Miguel,” is a loyal representative of police brutality and is paid millions of pesos to employ the logic of prison punishment and the control over people’s lives. This officer let her rage out with Tamara Sol and did not let her say goodbye to her cellmate, taking her out forcefully, without giving Sol the chance to pack her personal belongings (her prison mates gathered up what they could in a bag that Sol has yet to receive). We are told that Tamara Sol resisted with punches, screams and spits while being forced out by the prison guards, and was then handcuffed and taken to solitary confinement around 6pm.

We still don’t know what range the prison guards will decide to lock up Sol in the prison of San Joaquin.  Visiting hours and the size of packages vary depending on the range she is placed.

sol declaracionPUBLIC COMMUNIQUE:

By Tamara Sol Farías Vergara

2015. Fall [in South America]. New Moon.

These are my first words through the internet after the 7 year and 61 day sentencing made against me for attempted homicide, and theft.

Many people think that [my comrade] Angry was my partner, or that I had some sort of relationship with him, something that is completely untrue. He was a valuable comrade with whom I shared infinite ideas and feelings. He was a nihilist anarchist and I claim responsibility for the revenge of his murder as a political act, since I will always believe his murder was not by chance. Let us not forget that TVN [news channel] headlined the act [of Angry’s murder] as something “heroic,” as if though there had been a robbery to stop.

I did not shoot the same guard, who shot the trigger and then reloaded his gun to shoot a few more rounds, but my act is clear and so is the message. Security guards: you can’t keep killing our brothers, nor risking your lives for a miserable wage, or for any amount! Ask yourselves what you are guarding, who your bosses are, and whose money it is you are guarding with your life!

I don’t believe in justice.

Prisons, together with the entire judicial system, are made by the rich and powerful only to safeguard their properties and their social order of death. The police, judges, prosecution, prison guards lend themselves to this, and that is why they are my enemies.

There are things as individuals that cannot pass us by, with regards to the State and Power exerted over us. Imprisonment, murder and the theft of our lives for the well being of some is State Terrorism.  This is the case of Nataly Casanova, Guillermo Duran, Juan Flores and Enrique Guzman, who are charged with Anti-Terrorism laws, jailed under a media circus without having any viable proof of their involvement in any bomb detonations, and risk sentences that could cost them their lives.

Or in the case of comrade Angry, in which the ex-soldier/security guard was placed on the same day of the robbery and was ordered to kill with people behind him. Why isn’t the disgusting justice system punishing that security guard?

That is what State Terror looks like, when a person’s death is justified for the protection of private property; when poor people are jailed for decades for acts that don’t compare to the devastation made unto the land for centuries, or don’t compare to the violence of neoliberalism forcefully imposed by the dictatorship, while killing, torturing and disappearing thousands of people. The people who did this have first and last names, they are still alive, still working, walking freely through the streets, like that damned Labbé who got bail for only $500,000 miserable pesos [approx. $1000 CAD].

I also don’t think I should go to jail.

But then, what happens with those terrorists? What happens with Angelini and Matte that are leaving the people in the south without water and without native forests?

It is Bachelet, the Executive Power, that protects them through their bills and laws, which allow them to get richer by the day. And at whose cost? At the cost of entire communities that cannot harvest from the drought, forcing them to work until they die in their toil.  This is what Terrorism looks like!

Let the mass media manipulate the events and information, throwing in disgusting patriarchical TV shows where women are the object and the men are the boss, calling up citizens to collaborate with police to capture poor people doing petty theft. Like in the case of stupid shows like “133” and others, transforming neighbours into police vigilantes, torturers and snitches. Meanwhile, political theft, such as the case of Cascadas in the Penta case, or even Bachelet’s own son involved in a corruption scandal, haven’t received so much as anything thrown at them: they are all free, safe and sound. All of them are part of the $hilean Oligarchy, the State and Power.

As individuals with free will, we cannot naturalize the omnipotence of the law that watched over us, or much less protect their property or their money. Our social conduct is carried out people. The State is a structure that is sustained by authorities, the Police and Gendarmerie, who recognize it as a necessity.

We do not need a State or a Government. The collapse of modern slavery is in our hands, to take our lives by assault, to destroy all privileges. Let us stop working for them and stop recognizing their authority. We know that democracy is a media show to maintain their precious riches, so that no one can touch or bother them. These are the elements of their social peace and public order; the fear of losing it all, because without the poor, there can be no rich. Without the State there is no law. Without patriarchy there can be no authority or dominion.

The (a)bility to live autonomously is in our hands, with no boss or master, or schedule. Let us value our will. We are capable of striding away from materialism, commodities, and consumption. Let us go back to being wise, let us listen to our elders, our children. Let us leave behind these binary roles that generate dependencies and hierarchies in our relationships. Let us be ourselves without prejudice. We do not need a father figure, a man or a State to protect us. Creativity and knowledge are innate in ourselves, and we can be self-sufficient with what the land gives us, we do not need more than that. Let us go back to senses, look inward and connect with life, nature, and learn from our ancestors.

Technology and science aren’t in our favour; they also belong to the rich. Monsanto is a clear example: utilizing bio-technology to invent seeds and agricultural plants, making them resistant to a carcinogenic pesticide, talking complete control over fruit and vegetable plantations, the base of our nutrition.

The same occurs with the forestry plantations of pine and eucalyptus, as important commodities for export, and thereby one of the main sources of wealth. The monoculture of these species requires a specific pesticide to confront pests, and the pines have been biochemically modified to confront these and all temperatures, demanding greater quantities of water that a native forest, contaminating and sterilizing the land.

They experiment with our bodies, inventing sicknesses and selling the antidotes through the mafia that is the pharmaceutical industry in collusion with others in Power.

Always seducing us through adds of deceit to consume certain types of food for “good health” like milk (through consistent rapes), meat (cadavers) or eggs, fomenting the commercialization of animal life, in centres of torture and sickness for these beings (like Agrosuper, Superpollo, or any other slaughterhouse).

The oligarchy supported by the State are the real Terrorists.

Let us understand that the idea of consumption and accumulation is empty. It has nothing to do with life. We should understand that we are part of the universe and cannot keep participating in the immense damage that the powerful have made on the planet in which we live, in order to keep their privileges. If we are conscious and take responsibility for this we can stop them and recover our autonomy, individual will, sensitivity, the earth’s and our bodies’ fertility, as well as the joy of living without affective or sexual misery; enjoying the chaotic fluids of free relationships and our natural wildness.

I’m happy to know that there still are and there will continue to be restless, rebel, autonomous hearts being born; beings that are not seduced by the comfort of neoliberalism and democracy. I keep you in my mind and in my heart always. From here I extend a great hug; know that your acts make us strong and brighten up our days.

Solidarity keeps us grounded in all its forms. That is why I give heartfelt greetings to the folks in Villa Francia and the comrades that are always willing to confront the police in punches and kicks in every disgusting court appearance, many of whom ended up getting beaten up and arrested. Know that you are all valuable warriors. I thank my brothers/sisters who have never stopped visiting me and cook delicious food for me. I love you all very much and miss you all.

To the defense team all my respect, for the way in which they have chosen to get our comrades out of jail. They are concrete actions in the confrontation of forces… a weapon.

Solidarity and heartfelt greetings to Freddy, Marcelo, Juan, Carlos, Hans, Alfredo, Alejandro and Nicolas captured in the cages of the $hilean State.

Accomplice love to Tato and Javier… Strength to Nataly, Juan and Guillermo in their now 45 days on liquid hunger strike! Strength to Enrique Guzman: all my support in this long battle!

Solidarity and respect to the people of the earth in Wallmapu!

Solidarity with the Prisoners of the World!

Against the Techno-Industrial Patriarchical Society!

Against the State, its Oligarchy and all forms of Domination!

For the destruction of all cages!

Heart, will, memory, intuition and instinct! Trust in oneself!

Ana, Luisa, Manuel, Alen, I love you all infinitely!

Anarchist prisoners Tamara Sol & Tato fasting in solidarity with the comrades on hunger strike

tamtatoComrades and close ones:

We currently find ourselves within a context in which three comrades in prison are confronting the judicial/political/media apparatus, in order to achieve certain goals. The comrades have opted for struggling through their bodies, carrying out a hunger strike and thereby showing strength and resilience in their actions and words.

Unto this, we call out to mobilize in solidarity with comrades Nataly Casanova, Juan Flores and Guillermo Duran. At the same time, we Tamara Sol Farías and Tato (Natalia Collado) will begin a solidarity fast by having one meal a day, beginning today, March 20th onwards, notwithstanding the radicalization of these actions in the coming days.

Our comrades need strength, love and solidarity now!!

No prisoner is alone [in this struggle]!!
