Tom Clancy's The Division has been a long time coming, and we really do mean a long time coming.

That time however, is over. The game's official beta has been announced for the 28-31st on Xbox One and the 29-31st on PS4.

The beta will allow players around the world to finally try out the long-awaited title before its official release date on next-gen consoles on 8 March.

Put forward as the 'poster boy' for next-gen consoles the game embodied everything that's great about the PS4 and Xbox One - incredible visuals, smartphone connectivity and truly integrated online and single-player gameplay.

Things weren't perfect though, the games ambitions appeared to have been so great that Ubisoft realised it was going to have to delay the game. So they did, by almost two years.

Well here we are two years later and while not everything has survived (goodbye smartphone app) but the game's inherent scale and ambition still seems intact.

The game's RPG elements are clearly still present as well while the size of New York city still seems titanic in comparison to other games that Ubisoft have made.

Then of course there's the new Snowdrop engine, a graphics engine which Ubisoft has built from the ground up specifically for Xbox One and PS4.

It looks if nothing else, absolutely stunning, so you'll want to sign up and check it out for that at least.
