Astilleros y Maestranzas de la Armada de Chile, más conocido por el acrónimo Asmar, es una empresa chilena estatal de derecho público y autónoma, prestadora de servicios en construcción, mantenimiento, reparación y modernización en la industria naval, tanto en buques civiles como militares.
Fue fundada en 1895 bajo el nombre de Arsenales de Marina, siendo una de las empresas de construcción naval más antiguas de América Latina. En 1960 adaptó su nombre actual (Asmar).
Es la empresa de construcción naval más grande e importante de Chile, y posee 3 instalaciones principales ubicadas en Valparaíso, Talcahuano y Magallanes, y mantiene 3.038 trabajadores distribuidos en estas. Tiene su sede central en la base naval de Talcahuano, en la Región del Bío-Bío.

Asmar
Asmar (Pashto: اسمار) is one of the major cities in northeastern of Kunar province of Afghanistan and is the district center of Bar Kunar district, which is located in the most southern part of the district (35°02′02″N 71°21′30″E / 35.0339°N 71.3583°E / 35.0339; 71.3583) at 983 m altitude in a river valley.
History
The name Asmar is a combination of two Pashto language words of AS (horse) and MAR (snake).

The exact population of Āsmār is unknown. But according to the GeoNames geographical database is the total population 15708.
Inhabitants
The Inhabitants of Asmar are over mostly Pashtuns, with a very small population of Nooristanis. The Pashtun tribes living in Asmar includes;
