Outstanding Citizen Award Rami Nixon Tracy Mullins Christopher Thomas Liz Fish Shawn Worstell Debbie Wiechert Medal of Merit Gary Smith Lieutenant Randy Watts Deputy Travis Pendell Deputy Kenneth Scott Detective Annual Unit Merit Citation Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Task Force: Due to the diligence, patience and tenacity of this unit, over 40 residential burglaries in North Spokane were linked and the perpetrators were taken into custody. The stolen items recovered were returned to their rightful owners. The two suspects involved were charged with approximately 200 felonies. Our community is a safer place because of the members of this unit's extraordinary work on these cases! It is an honor to count you all as members of our TEAM! Thank you!! Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Unit: The dedicated, determined and skilled individuals of this unit came together and demonstrated what "Teamwork" is all about! Your combined work ethic gathering evidence in a triple Homicide/Arson case, and working the crime scene that covered a ten-day time-frame was more intense than most. It is an honor to count you ALL as part of our TEAM. Thank you! Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Operations Team: In recognition of your dedication and personal sacrifices the members of this team gave in order to serve our local communities. You put yourselves in harm's way in all sorts of weather conditions. Your specialized skills were utilized to locate drowning victims and investigate accident and crime scenes that were related to water incidents. The rigorous and continued training also takes time away from family and friends. It is an honor to have the E.O.T. Unit as part of our TEAM. Thank you ALL! Annual Unit Merit Award Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Explorers Post # 088 In recognition of this volunteer unit that has demonstrated a dedication and reliability that is above reproach. You all represent the Sheriff's Office in the most professional manner possible and serve as an "example to" and a "helping hand" for other Explorer Posts. This unit has donated 5,300 hours serving in security, training, community events and outreach programs. It is with great pride and honor that I count you ALL as part of our TEAM. Thank you! Life-Saving Award Michael Keys Deputy In recognition of your extraordinary actions responding to a fire call. Due to your swift response in moving the victim to a safer area and tending to his urgent medical need in getting him to breathe again, he survived the ordeal. Your dedication and commitment to the citizens of this community are to be highly commended. Thank you for being a valued member of our TEAM! Christopher Bylow Deputy On May 24, 2015, you answered a "check the welfare" call, which turned into an attempted suicide. Due to your swift response without regard to your own personal safety, this individual survived and was able to receive the medical help he so desperately needed. Your dedication and commitment to the citizens of this community are extraordinary. Thank you for being a valued member of our TEAM!
