1900 (MCM) was an exceptional common year starting on Monday (dominical letter G) of the Gregorian calendar and a leap year starting on Saturday (dominical letter BA) of the Julian calendar, the 1900th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 900th year of the 2nd millennium, the 100th and last year of the 19th century, and the 1st year of the 1900s decade. Note that the Julian day for 1900 is 12 calendar days difference, which continued to be used from 1582 until the complete conversion of the Gregorian calendar was entirely done in 1929. It was not a leap year as a result of the second finest adjustment of the Gregorian calendar where leap years are eliminated in centennial years not evenly divisible by 400 (Source: The Discoverers, Boorstin, page 9). As a result, the Julian calendar was 12 days behind the Gregorian until Wednesday, February 28 (O.S. February 16) and has been 13 days behind since Thursday, March 1 (O.S. February 17).

Rebell
Rebell (germ. rebel) is a song by German punk rock band Die Ärzte. It's the ninth track and the fourth and final single from their 1998 album 13. The song is about the rebellious attitude of adolescents, which it criticises ironically at times.

The video is in greyscale and shows the band singing the song, while the lyrics appear on the screen in red.

Sailboat
A sailboat or sailing boat is a boat propelled partly or entirely by sails smaller than a sailing ship. Distinctions in what constitutes a sailing boat and ship vary by region and maritime culture.
Types
Although sailboat terminology has varied across history, many terms have specific meanings in the context of modern yachting. A great number of sailboat-types may be distinguished by size, hull configuration, keel type, purpose, number and configuration of masts, and sail plan.

Cutter
The cutter is similar to a sloop with a single mast and mainsail, but generally carries the mast further aft to allow for a jib and staysail to be attached to the head stay and inner forestay, respectively. Once a common racing configuration, today it gives versatility to cruising boats, especially in allowing when a small staysail to be flown from the inner stay in high winds.
Catboat
A catboat has a single mast mounted far forward and does not carry a jib. Most modern designs have only one sail, the mainsail; however the traditional catboat could carry multiple sails from the gaff rig.

Honda CMX250C
The Honda CMX250, or Rebel 250, is a 234 cc (14.3 cu in) cruiser-style motorcycle made by Honda on and off since 1985. It uses the same 234 cubic centimetres (14.3 cu in) straight-twin engine as the Honda Nighthawk 250 standard. The Rebel is part of the CM series of cruisers. It is commonly used in the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's certified rider-training courses.
The Rebel's fuel consumption averages 52–62.6 mpg-US (4.52–3.76 L/100 km; 62.4–75.2 mpg-imp), with refills needed at around 190 miles (310 km). The 1996 Rebel had the best fuel economy, 62.6 miles per US gallon (3.76 L/100 km; 75.2 mpg-imp), of the 352 past and current models tested in the 2010 Motorcycle Consumer News (MCN) Performance Index. By 2012, the 1996 Rebel's fuel economy had been exceeded by several models on the MCN Performance Index, led by the Yamaha Virago 250 at 66.9 mpg-US (3.52 L/100 km; 80.3 mpg-imp). Its maximum speed is 70 miles per hour (110 km/h), and 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) time is 11.86 seconds, with a 0 to 1⁄4 mi (0.00 to 0.40 km) time of 17.86 seconds at 68.55 mph (110.32 km/h). Its wet weight is 320 lb (150 kg).

Die Ausstellung war vom 26.4.2014 bis 31.8.2014 im Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg zu sehen. Rund 55 Gemälde, 138 Papierarbeiten und zahlreiche Dokumente vermitteln, wie Kokoschka sein künstlerisches Talent anhand der Porträt-Malerei entfaltete. In elf Kapiteln geht die Ausstellung zunächst auf die Anfänge seines Werkes in Wien ein (die Arbeiten für die Wiener Werkstätten und die Lilith-Bilder), auf die Berliner Jahre 1910 bis 1916 (die Zusammenarbeit mit Herwarth Walden und seine Beiträge für „Der Sturm“) und seine Dresdner Jahre von 1916 bis 1923. Alma Mahler und Kokoschkas Nähe zur Musik, seine Kinderporträts, allegorische Frauenbildnisse, Politische Allegorien sowie Tierbildnisse und vor allem seine Selbstbildnisse stehen im Zentrum der Betrachtungen. Der rote Faden dieser Ausstellung ist die Person Kokoschkas selbst: die Menschen, die er kannte, sein Blick auf den Menschen und die Gesellschaft. Seine Bildnisse von Menschen und Tieren verkörpern die Essenz seiner Weltanschauung. So zeigt diese Ausstellung eine einzigartige persönliche Perspektive auf das 20. Jahrhundert und dessen bedeutende Ereignisse. Kokoschka prägte einen Stil, der auf einmal auch sehr zeitgenössisch anmutet. -

Rund 55 Gemälde, 138 Papierarbeiten und zahlreiche Dokumente vermitteln, wie Kokoschka sein künstlerisches Talent anhand der Porträt-Malerei entfaltete. In elf Kapiteln geht die Ausstellung zunächst auf die Anfänge seines Werkes in Wien ein (die Arbeiten für die Wiener Werkstätten und die Lilith-Bilder), auf die Berliner Jahre 1910 bis 1916 (die Zusammenarbeit mit Herwarth Walden und seine Beiträge für „Der Sturm“) und seine Dresdner Jahre von 1916 bis 1923. Alma Mahler und Kokoschkas Nähe zur Musik, seine Kinderporträts, allegorische Frauenbildnisse, Politische Allegorien sowie Tierbildnisse und vor allem seine Selbstbildnisse stehen im Zentrum der Betrachtungen.
Der rote Faden dieser Ausstellung ist die Person Kokoschkas selbst: die Menschen, die er kannte, sein Blick auf den Menschen und die Gesellschaft. Seine Bildnisse von Menschen und Tieren verkörpern die Essenz seiner Weltanschauung. So zeigt diese Ausstellung eine einzigartige persönliche Perspektive auf das 20. By the eighteenth century, sugarcane became the most important export of the island. By the early nineteenth century, people of African descent greatly outnumbered ethnic Europeans Due to the harshness of the conditions, there were many racial tensions. Selection of a few great Reggae tracks I've loved over the years, mostly old skool but some new skool that have the same old MIXTAPE vibe, mixed live on decks today not pieced together on a computer so will have original sound with imperfections..Many Memories from Coventry's West indian club back in the 80's. Have tried to make this like old skool mix mashed together, not like a clean super slick mix beat matched perfect mix of todays standard. Hey back then we often just recorded on tape to tape, just pausing the recorded tape in between tracks, then blasted from huge ghetto blaster so no real mixing as such but sounded great:) the tracks are mixed different from the original, length, bmp, tone etc
RIP my old mate Ray Massey (The Champion Jockey:) dedicated to you matey. The first of many Live Mixtapes created on the decks today..will upload many more, too many tunes to choose from. oldskool to later tracks.
The law if you listen to this mixtape you must do the following:
THE DANCE (Jockeying) This was a dance we did back then and sure its done today..well versions of it..We were the Champion Jockeys 30 odd years ago.
To do the dance turn the Mixtape volume up VERY LOUD, Bass high is good and feel the vibe.
Place yourself like a jockey on a horse with legs open and bent at knees, arms out in front, arms apart holding the reigns as you would on a horse with bent elbows...feel the beat and ride the horse/beat:)....wined your way up wined your way down. for slower tracks we would wined the hips...always keep the arms up bent rigid holding reigns....will put a smile on your face:) No its not gangham style...well simliar without the splappin the horse:) Enjoy the mix and enjoy the dance...Big SMILE :D. That way Ray's spirt will live on;) Alway did this dance back in the day with a big smile from ear to ear:D

Yet their choice of a free life led all too often to poverty, hunger, addictions, and even death. This lecture brings to life the flamboyant, eccentric pioneers to whom we owe so many of our freedoms today.

By the eighteenth century, sugarcane became the most important export of the island. By the early nineteenth century, people of African descent greatly outnumbered ethnic Europeans Due to the harshness of the conditions, there were many racial tensions. In 1900, lumberman Jim Fallon (Kirk Douglas) greedily eyes the big sequoia redwood trees in the virgin region of northern California. The land is already settled by, among others, a religious group led by Elder Bixby (Charles Meredith) who have a religious relationship with the redwoods and refuse to log them, using other smaller trees for lumber. Jim becomes infatuated with Bixby's daughter, Alicia (Eve Miller), though that does not change his plan to cheat the homesteaders. When Jim's right-hand man, Yukon Burns (Edgar Buchanan) finds out, he changes sides and leads the locals in resisting Jim. The locals combat Jim's loggers with a sympathetic judge with Jim fighting back by using Federal laws.
Elder Bixby is killed when a big sequoia tree is chopped down by Jim's men and falls on his cabin. Jim's desperate attempt to rescue Alicia's father saves him from being convicted of murder. Meanwhile, timber rival Cleve Gregg (Harry Cording) appears on the scene, making it a three-way fight. Gregg and his partner Frenchy LeCroix (John Archer) try to assassinate Jim, but end up killing Yukon instead. Jim has a dramatic change of heart and leads the settlers in defeating Gregg and Frenchy. Afterwards, Jim marries Alicia and settles down.

Gold is everywhere in Suriname, from political power to what the locals wear on their fingers, the effects of gold mining seep into all aspects of society. The industry is a necessary source of income for many Surinamese, but it's also destroying the environment, bad for public health, and rife with corruption.
VICE Netherlands went to Suriname to see how gold is intertwined with everyday life in the country. They ride along with 'Jungle' Ronnie Brunswick - an ex-rebel leader who waged a violent civil war but is now a successful businessman, owning thousands of hectares of gold mining land. VICE Netherlands also witnessed the dangers of mercury, which is used widely in the recovery of gold, and visited Benz Village, where everything in life is paid for with gold.

Sims 4 Decades Challenge 1900's Episode 18: Everyone needs to pee!
The house is getting too small for all these kids! And we finally hire help for the farm!
Jabez is a rebel, with no consideration for the rules of society. Born to a working class family of farmers, his intelligence earned him a scholarship to a private school. This showed him how life could be for others and he started to resent his background.
Jabez fell in love with a girl from the adjoining school, her father landed gentry and he was not about to let his little girl marry beneath her. After threats were issued to Jabez and his family, and realizing since they owned their land there was nothing he could do, he sent his daughter, Sarah, away to another school. Broken hearted, Jabez finished school and moved to the city to get a job as a factory manager.
7 Years later, with both his parents dead, Jabez returned to the family farm. Most of the land has been sold, and he is left with a modest wooden house in a decent size plot of land. He has little money, having spend his wages on women and gambling, but the death of his father was the wake up call he needed and he is determined to make the farm a success again.
Unknown to him, Sarah is back in town. She went off the rails at her new school, angry with her father for tearing her away from Jabez, she caused all the trouble she could. After returning home, she had an affair with a married man, and her father disowned her.
He bought her a modest house in a different town....Jabez's town, and other than the clothes on her back that is all she has.
So are these two star crossed lovers destined to meet again? Or will life lead them down a different path? It is all in the hands of the Sim Gods!
Decades Challenge Rules:
1890's:
May only marry within their ethnicity
May only marry and have a relationship with opposite gender
Outside toilets
No electricity (Lighting is a problem here, use candles or lanterns)
Must always ‘try for a baby’ no just woohooing
Girls born may only have the creativity bonus
Women take care of the children and tidy the house, may help garden
Female children may only move out once married.
Male heirs only, if there are no boys, a married girl's husband may inherit
Wooden furniture only (No upholstered beds only quilts and blankets)
Old fashioned stove and fridge (I downloaded a pantry item to help with the aesthetics)
No showers only bathtubs
No jobs, money made through gardening, painting or woodworking
Wooden walls and floors
House must only be decorated with impressionist or classic paintings
(Must have a cow plant ready for the 1910’s so start now)
