Social Jurist is a group of lawyers and social activists concerned about the realization of every child’s right to education and elimination of child labour in all forms. We are working for last 10 years, all over India, preparing and filing Public Interest litigation in the High Court and Supreme Court to secure justice for the marginalized section of society. Social Jurist filed a petition in the Hon. Delhi High Court for the implementation of 25% free seats in Private Schools for the poor and got the orders from the court in favour of the poor. Many children are now studying in these schools without paying any tuition fee.

Social Jurist also filed a petition in the Hon. High Court for 25% free beds and treatment for the poor in private hospitals and got it implemented in 26 hospitals in Delhi. These are the two examples of many cases won by Social Jurist and many still under proceedings in the court, for securing justice for the marginalized section of society.

Right to Education Task Force ( RETF ) is a group of volunteers woking under the guidance of Social Jurist, to realize the right of every child to quality education. The Government is fully responsible to provide free and compulsory education to every child in the age group of 6 to 14. RETF is working to make sure that every school has the required infrastructure and the teachers are performing their duties with devotion and honesty.

Delhi has 1854 Primary Schools run by MCD and RETF wants that every school may be adopted by one volunteer who will work as conduit pipe between the school and the community. The volunteer will frequently and regularly visit the adopted school, meet the teachers and Head Masters to collect the information on infrastructure and quality of education being given to the children. The irregularities can be brought to the notice of RETE which will take up the matter with the appropriate authority for remedial measures.
