The Mall of the Emirates is a shopping mall in the Al Barsha district of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was developed by Majid Al Futtaim Properties under the leadership of its CEO, Peter Walichnowski, who was also the developer of "Bluewater" near London, Europe's most successful shopping mall. The mall was designed by the American architectural firm, F+A Architects. Prior to the opening of the Dubai Mall (the world's largest mall), the Mall of the Emirates was the second largest shopping mall in the Middle East, slightly smaller than City Stars mall.
It contains approximately 2,400,000 square feet (220,000 m2) of shops and the entire mall forms a total of approximately 6,500,000 square feet (600,000 m2). on September 1, 2010 the new extension to the mall will open, adding more than 40 luxury stores. In a global perspective, the World's second largest shopping mall, the South China Mall in Dongguan, China, contains approximately 7,100,000 square feet (660,000 m2) of shopping space in a complex that totals approximately 9,600,000 square feet (890,000 m2).

Nancy Nabil Ajram (Arabic: نانسي نبيل عجرم), (born May 16, 1983) is a multi-platinum recording artist and Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. With the support of her father, Nancy began performing as a child and released her first studio album by the age of 15. Her breakthrough occurred with the start of her collaboration with well-known producer Jiji Lamara, when she released her smash-hit "Akhasmak Ah" and 3rd studio album, Ya Salam. In 2004, she released her second international best-seller "Ah w Noss", which spawned several smash-hits, "Ah w Noss", "Lawn Ouyounak", and "Inta Eih" at which point Nancy had established pop icon status in the Middle East.
Her 2008 album "Bitfakkar Fi Eih" spawned seven singles and won Nancy's first World Music Award as Best-selling Middle Eastern Artist, the youngest Arab WMA winner to date. She has released seven studio albums to date and numerous other chart-topping singles such as "Sehr Ouyouno", "Atabtab", "Moegaba", "Ehsas Jdeed", "El Donya Helwa", "Mashi Haddi", and "Fi Hagat".

With its triangular sails and a design that has remained unchanged for thousands of years, the dhow still sails these waters. Hundreds of them lie at anchor close to the old town on the banks of Dubai Creek.
No other city in the United Arab Emirates possesses so many fascinating contrasts. But the past is gradually merging with the present and portrays a new and harmonious image. Dubai's impressive silhouette is in stark contrast to the desert sand and sparkling sea.
The Deira district owes its prosperity to the various souks that were established there in the 19th century. At this time, Dubai was already an important trading city with almost 7,000 inhabitants. The number of stalls in the souk rose to more than 300 and a modest tax was imposed for the coffers of the local Sheikh.
Amid the desert surroundings, in front of the city gates, is the Nad Al Sheba Camel Course where the intrepid creatures of the desert are trained during the winter months and where the jockeys are young boys from Somalia and Pakistan.
Dusty gravel roads lead into the Hajar Mountains, part of the splendid mountain landscape in the eastern section of the Emirates.

Featuring animated characters and beautifully decorated ornaments, there is a photo opportunity at every angle, creating a memorable holiday moment.
On December 14th, gift-givers and gourmet lovers can indulge in 570m of Stollen, a traditional German fruitcake at the 7th Annual Charity Cake Sale, a charity event for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs. Hosted by the Kempinski Mall of the Emirates in partnership with Mall of the Emirates, the event starts at 10:00am until the last slice of Stollen is sold with the day highlighted by fun kid's activities and a special visit by Santa Claus.

The blue sign placed on the sliding glass doors advises visitors to "Please wear respectful clothing" and "No kissing or overt displays of affection", among other things.
The sign, however, doesnt elaborate on what the policy regards as "non-respectful clothing" nor what the penalties for violating the policy may be.
"Courtesy policies have always applied to malls in the MAF Shopping Malls portfolio [Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls]," said Fouad Sharaf, Vice President of Mall of the Emirates.
"The courtesy policy has been there since the inception of the mall."
Asked about what they meant by "respectful clothing", Sharaf said, "The mall is a place for enjoyment and relaxation, but also a place where families and children come. If any visitor is overly-exposed, our security guards will make them aware that it is not culturally acceptable. The policy is enforced in a positive and constructive way."
Asked if he feels that this policy may have a negative effect on visitors, Sharaf said: "It will only have a positive effect because ours has always been a mall for all age groups and backgrounds and steps like these will only further enhance the goodwill among shoppers and the cultural understanding of one another."

Mall of the Emirates, the worlds first shopping resort, welcomed over 3.3 million people through its doors during the 45-day Dubai Shopping Festival.
The mall played host to Acrobats, flamenco dancers, Bollywood performers, local Sword dancers, Chinese artists and African dancers amongst many more who thrilled and entertained shoppers daily, said Fuad Sharaf, General Manager Mall of the Emirates, The footfall figures during DSF surpassed our initial expectations. Our unique and enticing blend of shopping and leisure including over 450 retailers, the theatre, Ski Dubai and Magic Planet encouraged customers to spend more time in the mall. On December 30th, the mall also broke its previous daily footfall record by welcoming 127,000 customers into the centre in one day, added Fuad.
The influx of tourists during the festival also had a significant impact on driving sale volumes. Our December sales were actually 40% higher than the previous month.
Mr & Mrs Austen, a British couple in Dubai on their honeymoon received a fantastic beginning to their married life by winning the Mall of the Emirates grand prize from the spend-and-win promotion. The ecstatic newlyweds flew home as the owners to a spectacular AED 2.4 million 2 bedroom, luxury apartment in Ocean Heights which is being constructed by leading property developer DAMAC.
To top this phenomenally successful campaign, Mall of the Emirates scooped the DSF 2006-2007 Innovation Award for Best shopping mall event. The mall is honored to have been selected for this award which is the ultimate recognition of innovation and business success., commented Fuad, It recognises the enormous amount of in-depth planning, co-ordination and originality which went into the malls numerous events and superb promotions.
