These are all the
Macintosh startup chimes, in order of release. The images of the Macs represent the model the chime was introduced with. Here is a list in order showing the model it was introduced with, the year, a detailed description, and its seperate uploaded link:
-Macintosh 128k (
1984): The original
Macintosh startup chime was a simple beep, and it was used for all the later compact
Macintosh models such as the 512k,
Plus and SE (not SE/30) until
1990. It was last used on the
Macintosh Classic, released in
October 1990 - the compact models afterwards, i.e. the
Classic II and
Color Classic, used a new chime that was introduced with the original
Macintosh LC in October 1990 - the low-end and basic Macintosh Classic still used the original beep from 1984. (

-Macintosh II (
1987): The
Macintosh II released in
March 1987 had this new startup chime, which was no longer just a simple beep. Created by
Mark Lentczner, it was used on many models afterwards such as the SE/30, much of the II series including
IIsi and IIfx, and the Portable. By the time the Macintosh LC arrived in October 1990 with a new chime, it already looked dead for desktop computers - in
October 1991, it was used for the
PowerBook 100 (a low-end notebook). (http://youtu.be/pDlVD7vvT7M)
-Macintosh LC (1990): The original Macintosh LC came in October 1990 and introduced this new startup chime. It was then used on the Classic II (October 1991) and finally the LCII released in
March 1992. Only 3 Macintoshes in total with this chime made it have a short lifetime.

-Macintosh
Quadra 700/900,
Powerbook 140/170 (
1991): In October 1991, the new
Macintosh Quadra series was announced, with models 700 and the 900 - also introduced was the
Macintosh PowerBook series of laptops, with models
140 and the 170. All four of these Macintoshes used this new startup chime, that was no longer simple. This chime was popular and lived long - it was used on all
1992 Macintoshes (except the LCII) including the last of the II series, the IIvx and IIvi. It was also used on all the
1993 Macintoshes (except
Quadra 840AV and
Quadra/
Centris 660AV) such as the
LCIII, Color Classic, LC/
Performa 520, the remaining Quadra's and Centris's, and the
Macintosh TV. It marched on in
1994 despite two new chimes, and was used on models such as the LC/
Performa/
Quadra 630 and the
PowerBook 150 released in July 1994. It was phased out when the
Power Macintosh 5200 arrived in
April 1995, with another new chime.

-Macintosh Quadra 840AV/
Centris 660AV (1993): The Macintosh Quadra 840AV and the Quadra/Centris 660AV came in
October 1993 and introduced this new chime that would soon become standard. This was the original 'bong' composed by
Jim Reekes, before the pitch-shiftings. It was only used on these two Macintoshes, as all the Quadra's after this (and the other two Centris's) continued using the 1991 chime. (http://youtu.be/-N8ymXqmJkE)
-Power Macintosh
6100/
7100/
8100 (1994):
In
March 1994, the new
Power Macintosh series was launched with the models 6100, 7100 and 8100. This used this new guitar chime, composed by
Stanley Jordan. However, this chime was only used for these first-generation
Power Macintoshes, and never saw the light of the day again, as
Apple once again continued using the 1991 chime for the rest of the 1994 Macintoshes - no more Power Macintoshes arrived until
1995. (http://youtu.be/ZfcGZaBh1Vc)
-Power
Macintosh/Performa 5200 (1995):
The Power Macintosh/Performa 5200 was released in April 1995, and introduced a new chime. Just a month after, the
Power Macintosh 9500 had a new version of the 1993 'bong' chime. However, this chime from the 5200 did continue to be used for the
5300 in
August 1995, as well as the 6200, and the
6300 in
January 1996. (http://youtu.be/Oetr-HyktWc)
-Power Macintosh 9500 (1995): The 'bong' of 1993 from the Quadra 840AV and Quadra/Centris 660AV returned, this time in a lower pitch. It was introduced with the Power Macintosh 9500 in May 1995. It was later used in August 1995 on the Power Macintosh 72xx/8200, PowerBook 2300c, 190 and 5300, all the
1996 Macintoshes except the 6300, and all the Macintoshes of
1997 except the Twentieth Anniversairy Macintosh. (http://youtu.be/7G3SXTg7gDI)
-Twentieth
Anniversary Macintosh (1997): The special limited-edition Twentieth Anniversairy Macintosh, released in
March 1997, had this exclusive chime. It is the only chime in history to be applied to one certain Macintosh. (http://youtu.be/LVkt3krK9t0)
-iMac G3 (
1998): This is the third version of the famous 'bong' chime from 1993, that has been the chime for all Macs since the iMac G3 was released in
August 1998. (http://youtu.be/CZiPmYRixC0)
