Srebrenica: A Town Betrayed
A Norwegian documentary that attempts to take a less biased look at what happened in Srebrenica during the Bosnian War. The internationally accepted viewpoint is very black-and-white and ultimately labels the Serbs as evil monsters while ignoring the crimes committed by the Muslims which was what "the Srebrenica Massacre" might have been a direct consequence of.

Two video scenes taken from unpublished, forgotten footage filmed by well-known international news agencies, like Associated Press, during the operations of the Bosnian Serb troops and paramilitaries in July of 1995 in Srebrenica.
From an XYZ Contagion study, based on 20 years of research, entitled:
'The Srebrenica massacre, the Greek Volunteer Guard (EEF) and the involvement of Golden Dawn,' which contains exclusive new evidence presented for the first time in Greece and internationally.
http://xyzcontagion.wordpress.com/srebrenica/
This study contains evidence that proves that Golden Dawn members and functionaries and other Greeks fascists of the so-called Greek Volunteer Guard (EEF) were actually there. Not simply 'somewhere near Srebrenica', but they were at the exact locations, at the football fields and meadows and abandoned warehouses, while the mass executions of 8,000+ POWs and unarmed civilians took place, at the exact time of the killings.
On 11 July 1995, ten members of the Greek Volunteer Guard and an eleventh Greek serving in a death squad unit invaded Srebrenica, along with Ratko Mladic's troops and paramilitaries. Five of them can be seen at 00:17 in the footage. Their names are Spyros Tzanopoulos (EEF sergeant and member of the central committee of the neonazi Golden Dawn gang), Anna Florin, K. Kyriakidis, G. Lymperidis and Charalambos Dimoulas. The same five men, together with another two Greeks, Tryfonas Vasiliadis (EEF deputy commander) and Dimitris Zavitsanos (EEF master sergeant) can be seen at 00:44 of the footage.
Also in the area around the same time was the EEF's Greek commander Antonios Mitkos, as can be seen at 02:50 in a photograph along with the EEF’s Serb commander, who used the pseudonym Duga Puska, and Ratko Mladic himself.
You can see a photo of all ten of them at 01:10. The names of the other two volunteers were Konstantinos Kaltsounis and Vasilios Schizas, who can be seen again at 02:37 in the video, joking around with a pig's head, meant as an insult to Muslims.
There's also a photograph of them, at 01:28, which was taken on the actual street where Mladic's troops entered Srebrenica that 11 July 1995.
The 11th Greek who participated in the invasion of Srebrenica was Angelos Latsios (aka Andjelko Todorovic), a completely different story. He was a member, along with another Greek, of an elite death squad, the notorious 10th Sabotage Detachment. The 10. Diverzantski Odred carried out 1,200 executions of Bosniaks in 5 hours, for 5 deutschmarks a head. The 10th SD was under the direct orders of infamous war criminals like Mladic, Tolimir, Salapura, Beara, Pelemis, Franc Kos, etc. This squad had 'contracts with a licence to kill', according to the Humanitarian Law Center (Fond za Humanitarno Pravo) dossier on the 10th SD (entitled 'Dosije: 10. diverzantski odred Glavnog staba vojske Republike Srpske', Sarajevo, August 2011).
In the above video, you can see footage of them on their way to organise ambushes and burn houses, again along with paramilitary soldiers. Insignia can be seen of both the EEF and the elite death Squad, the 10th SD, as smoke rises from the background, a clear sign that some houses had been set on fire a short time before. Next, there's footage of a squad of 7 EEF members on the day of the killings, 13 July, again along with the notorious 10th SD paramilitary death squad. Four members of this squad were convicted to 40-43 years’ imprisonment for war crimes and mass executions of unarmed civilians at the exact same football field where, on the same day and around the same time, the Greek volunteers and their Serb commander were present, taking photographs of prisoners (or dead prisoners).
The security chief of the Bosnian Serb Army (VRS), the military intelligence chief and other officers were there too. They have all been convicted. The security chief demanded that the photographs be handed up because they were evidence of the massacre, but Mladic had ordered that nothing was to be documented. The Serb commander of the EEF refused to give him these photographs. So, these images probably exist. Can they be the same photographs depicting the corpses of Muslim civilians that the Greek police uncovered in 2003 during a search of the home of a former volunteer who was being investigated for smuggling drugs and weapons?

Srebrenica Geocide
the July 1995 killing, during the Bosnian War, of more than 8,000 Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims), mainly men and boys, in and around the town of Srebrenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, by units of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) under the command of General Ratko Mladić.
The mass murder was described by Secretary-General of UN as the worst crime on European soil since the WW2.
A paramilitary unit from Serbia known as the Scorpions, officially part of the Serbian Interior Ministry until 1991, participated in the massacre and it is alleged that foreign volunteers including the Greek Volunteer Guard also participated.
In April 1993, the United Nations declared the besieged enclave of Srebrenica in the Drina Valley of north-eastern Bosnia a "safe area" under UN protection.
However, in July 1995, theUnited Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR), represented on the ground by a 400-strong contingent of Dutch peacekeepers, Dutchbat, did not prevent the town's capture by VRS and subsequent massacre.
In 2004, in a unanimous ruling on case of Prosecutor v. Krstić, the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY), located in the Hague, ruled that the massacre of the enclave's male inhabitants constituted genocide, a crime under international law.
The forcible transfer of between 25,000 to 30,000 Bosniak women, children and elderly which accompanied the massacre was found to be confirming evidence of the genocidal intent of members of the VRS Main Staff who orchestrated the massacre.
Theodor Meron, the presiding judge of the Appeals Chamber, stated:
By seeking to eliminate a part of Bosnian Muslims, Bosnian Serb forces committed genocide.
They targeted for extinction the 40,000 Bosnian Muslims living in Srebrenica, a group which was emblematic of the Bosnian Muslims in general.
They stripped all the male Muslim prisoners, military and civilian, elderly and young, of their personal belongings and identification, and deliberately and methodically killed them solely on the basis of their identity.
In February 2007 the International Court of Justice (ICJ) concurred with the ICTY judgement, stating:
The Court concludes that the acts committed at Srebrenica falling within Article II (a) and (b) of the Convention were committed with the specific intent to destroy in part the group of the Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina as such.
Accordingly that these were acts of genocide, committed by members of the VRS in and around Srebrenica from about 13 July 1995.
The vast majority of those killed were adult men & teenage boys but the victims included boys aged under 15, men over the age of 65, women, & reportedly even several babies.
The Preliminary List of People Missing or Killed in Srebrenica compiled by the Bosnian Federal Commission of Missing Persons contains 8,373 names, some 500 of them under 18,
And includes several dozen women &girls.;
As of July 2012, 6,838 genocide victims have been identified through DNA analysis of body parts recovered from mass graves and 5,657 victims have been buried at the Memorial Centre of Potočari.
In 2005, in a message to the tenth anniversary commemoration of the genocide, the Secretary-General of the United Nations noted that, while blame lay first and foremost with those who planned and carried out the massacre and those who assisted and harboured them, great nations had failed to respond adequately, the UN itself had made serious errors of judgement and the tragedy of Srebrenica would haunt the UN's history forever.
FRY was cleared of direct responsibility for or complicity in the massacre, but was found responsible for not doing enough to prevent the massacre and not prosecuting the responsible, in breach of the Genocide Convention. Netherlands is also considered responsible for not preventing the massacre, due to presence of its UN contingent, and government of Netherlands acknowledged this symbolically by resigning over the issue, though no international rulings or cases concerning the issue have been considered, except in the case of individual victims suing Netherlands. In the Bosnia and Herzegovina v. Serbia and Montenegro case the International Court of Justice presented its judgment on 26 February 2007.
It cleared Serbia of direct involvement in genocide,
but ruled that Belgrade did breach international law by failing to prevent the 1995 Srebrenica massacre, and for failing to try or transfer the persons accused of genocide to the ICTY, in order to comply with its obligations under Articles I and VI of the Genocide Convention, in particular in respect of General Ratko Mladić.
Mladić had been accused by the ICTY and was suspected of hiding in Serbia until his arrest there on 26 May 2011.

The Dutch government put the safety of its own troops ahead of that of Bosnian Muslims during the Srebrenica massacre, lawyers for relatives of thousands of victims of the 1995 slaughter told a court in The Hague on Monday.
The government rejected that charge and countered that it had no official control of its troops because they were "blue helmets" taking part in a United Nations peacekeeping mission during the Bosnian war.
The comments came in the latest legal battle in the Netherlands over the country's responsibility in Europe's worst massacre since World War II.
Some six-thousand relatives of the approximately eight-thousand men and boys slain by Bosnian Serb forces in the Srebrenica safe haven in July 1995 are seeking to hold the Dutch government liable because its troops failed to prevent the slayings.
A handful of the relatives listened to the proceedings at The Hague District Court via a simultaneous translation.
They sat stoically, mostly in silence, but occasionally responding angrily to the government lawyer's comments.
Munira Subasic, who lost her son and husband, said she was disappointed as she had hoped that the court case would stir the Dutch people's "conscience".
Lawyers for the relatives are demanding compensation in a case that could set legal precedents for other peacekeeping missions.
If judges accept the government's position when they deliver their judgement later this year, it could leave the relatives with no more legal avenues; Dutch judges
threw out attempts by the women to also sue the United Nations, saying the world body has legal immunity.

Thousands of people gathered on Friday at the memorial centre in Potocari near Srebrenica to mark the 19th anniversary of Europe's worst massacre since World War II.
An estimated 8,000 Muslim men and boys of Srebrenica were killed in July 1995 by advancing Serb troops, led by General Ratko Mladic.
The bodies of 175 newly identified victims were buried in a ceremony on Friday attended by family members, who came from many countries to pay their last respects.
The remains of Srebrenica victims are still being found in mass graves and identified using DNA technology.
Around 7,000 victims have been found in mass graves and identified so far.
Every 11 July, more are buried at a memorial centre near the town.
People gathered early in the morning to check the names of those who were due to be buried later on that day and then went to the graves to attend prayers ahead of the funerals.
Smajo Jusufovic, a Srebrenica resident, lost four brothers during the Serb attack in 1995.
"I had four of my brothers (killed). We are still looking for one of them. As for the other three, two of the brothers had been buried before and today we are burying the third one, the youngest one," he said.
"We waited for a long time, the trauma is getting harder and harder," he added.
Hundreds of other families have refused to bury their loved ones in the mass funeral because only a few partial remains have been found.
The eastern, Muslim-majority town of Srebrenica was a UN-protected area besieged by Serb forces throughout Bosnia's 1992-95 war.
But UN troops offered no resistance when the Serbs overran the town, rounding up the Muslims and killing the males.
An international court later labelled the slayings as genocide.

Final preparations before 520 victims of Srebrenica massacre are burried

The newly discovered remains of 520 victims of the Srebrenica massacre will be buried on Wednesday on the 17th anniversary of the killing of 8-thousand men and boys by Serb forces in 1995 in Srebrenica, the worst massacre of civilians on European soil after World War II.
On Tuesday, workers prepared the graves for the mass burial and commemoration ceremony in Potocari, near Srebrenica.
The remains have been identified after months and sometimes years of DNA tests.
The bodies were excavated years ago but has always been challenging task identifying them as the perpetrators secretly dug up the original mass graves with bulldozers, then drove decomposing remains to other locations and buried them there.
Families of the victims started gathering at a memorial centre near Srebrenica on Tuesday and thousands from around the world are expected to join them, including Holocaust survivor Rabbi Arthur Schneier of the Park East Synagogue, New York.
Schneier said while the families of the victims should never forget what happened, he said "you cannot resurrect" those that have gone.
"You can change today and you can change tomorrow. And that is exactly what political leaders, religious leaders must do; for the sake not only of today, but for future generations," he added.
Schneier added that people most always be prepared to speak out against injustices and silence is never the answer.
"Silence on the part of the international community, on the part of the world, what we have now in Syria, that only strengthens the perpetrators and eventually you pay a very heavy price for silence. So, silence is not the answer, you have to stand up in the face of injustice," he added.
However, as graves were being dug in Srebrenica for 520 massacre victims who will be buried on Wednesday, Serbs in the area refused to acknowledge the crime, defined by the International Court of Justice as genocide.
They insist that the former Bosnian Serb military chief Ratko Mladic, who is currently on trial on war crimes and genocide charges, including for the Srebrenica slaughter - is a hero and an inspiration for their people.
Rabija Hrustanovic is one of those who would be disgusted by that ideology.
Tomorrow she will bury her brother and husband that were killed 17 years ago in Srebrenica.

On the 17th anniversary of Europe's worst massacre since World War II, Muslims in Bosnia were heading to Srebrenica to attend a funeral for 520 newly identified victims.
The remains of those Muslim men and boys slaughtered at Srebrenica around July 11, 1995, will be laid to rest on Wednesday in the town whose name is now synonymous with genocide.
The coffins are already at the memorial centre and the burial pits have been dug.
Tens of thousands from around Bosnia and abroad are expected to attend the burial.
Relatives of the victims crouched by the coffins, some praying quietly, whilst others cried.
"I can't believe my father is in this coffin. It is impossible," said Izabela Hasanovic.
Srebrenica was a U.N.-protected Muslim town in Bosnia besieged by Serb forces throughout Bosnia's 1992-95 war.
Serb troops led by General Ratko Mladic overran the enclave in July 1995, separated men from women and executed 8,000 men and boys within just a few days.
Dutch troops stationed in Srebrenica as U.N. peacekeepers were undermanned and outgunned, and failed to intervene.
The bodies of the victims are still being found in mass graves throughout eastern Bosnia.
The task has been made even more difficult by the fact that the perpetrators dug up mass graves and reburied remains in other mass graves to try to cover their tracks.
The victims have been identified through DNA analysis and newly identified ones are buried at the Srebrenica memorial centre every year.
So far, over 5,000 Srebrenica victims found this way have been laid to rest.
Mladic was arrested last year in Serbia and is on trial now at the tribunal in The Hague.
He faces 11 charges, including genocide, for allegedly masterminding Serb atrocities throughout the war that left 100-thousand dead, especially the Srebrenica massacre.
He denies wrongdoing.

Top Bosnian officials and international dignitaries joined tens of thousands of Bosnian Muslims in Srebrenica on Wednesday to mark the 17th anniversary of Europe's worst massacre since World War II.
As part of the ceremony, a funeral for 520 newly identified victims of the massacre is to take place at the Potocari memorial cemetery just outside the town in eastern Bosnia.
Defying sweltering heat, the victims' relatives and friends walked among the simple coffins wrapped in green cloth, struggling and often failing to suppress tears.
Srebrenica was a United Nations-protected Muslim town in Bosnia besieged by Serb forces throughout Bosnia's 1992-95 war.
Serb troops led by General Ratko Mladic overran the enclave in July 1995, separated men from women and executed 8-thousand men and boys within just a few days.
Dutch troops stationed in Srebrenica as U.N. peacekeepers were undermanned and outgunned, and failed to intervene.
US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Patrick Moon, who attended the ceremony, said the massacre was "a genocide that cannot be denied."
Rabbi Arthur Schneier, a Holocaust survivor who founded the Appeal of Conscience Foundation and is rabbi of the Park East Synagogue in New York, was also present at Wednesday's memorial.
He said that Bosnian witnesses should continue testifying and keeping a record.
"Having been through it (genocide), I know what it means to lose one's family," he said.
So far, over 5-thousand Srebrenica victims found this way have been laid to rest.
Bakir Izetbegovic, who is the current Chairman and Bosniak member of the nation's tripartite presidency, said the Srebrenica massacre "is a dark stain on the conscience of mankind and the most painful wound on the body of Bosniak people."
Munira Subasic, who lost 22 family members in the massacre, including her son and husband, said the massacre "must never be forgotten or repeated."
"All the criminals must be found and identified by their names and surnames just like our victims are known by theirs," she said.
General Mladic was arrested last year in Serbia and is on trial now at the tribunal in The Hague.
He faces 11 charges, including genocide, for allegedly masterminding Serb atrocities throughout the war that left 100-thousand dead, especially the Srebrenica massacre.
He denies wrongdoing.
But despite the charges, to many Serbs Mladic remains a national hero, an attitude that angers Muslim Bosniaks.

The bodies of 520 victims of the Srebrenica massacre left a morgue in the Bosnian town of Visoko on Monday, for their final resting place, a memorial centre and cemetery in Potocari.
The newly identified victims are being buried 17 years after the massacre at an anniversary ceremony on July 11.
Hundreds of Srebrenica mothers and families gathered in Visoko, to pay their respects to the victims, packed in coffins on large trucks.
One man whose father disappeared in 1995 was looking for his coffin after finding out he was executed by Serb forces in a village near Srebrenica.
He said he wished his father's killers would have to look for their relatives in the same way he did.
"Seventeen years on, I could not wish anything better for them."
Adila Salihovic, another relative of the Srebrenica victims said it was difficult to be in Visoko on Monday.
"It's hard, very hard. I can't describe it in words. I have a brother and an uncle here," said , while she watched the trucks leaving the morgue.
A small prayer was held before the coffins arrived in Sarajevo, where in front of the presidency building hundreds of Sarajevans paid their last respects, laying flowers on the trucks.
More than 8-thousand Muslim men and boys were murdered by Serb forces in 1995 in Srebrenica, the worst massacre of civilians on European soil after World War II.

The remains of 520 victims of the Srebrenica massacre arrived in Potocari on July 9th, two days ahead of a mass burial and commemoration ceremony.
Friends and relatives of the victims carried the coffins into a hall near Srebrenica.
The 520 sets of remains, identified through DNA tests, will be buried at a memorial centre near Srebrenica on July11th the 17th anniversary of the massacre of 8-thousand men and boys, defined by the International Court of Justice as genocide.
The bodies have been excavated for years.
The perpetrators secretly dug up the original mass graves with bulldozers, then drove decomposing remains to other locations and buried them there.
Earlier in the day the newly identified victims left a morgue in the Bosnian town of Visoko.
One of the survivors, Mujo Music, spoke about how his 26-year-old son was killed in the massacre.
"We escaped through the forest when Srebrenica fell (to the Serbs) and once we reached Snagovo, they (Serbs) started shooting at us from Kula. Eight people were killed, including my son. His body remained in the field. I found two bones of his. I have buried many relatives already," he added.
More than 8-thousand Muslim men and boys were murdered by Serb forces in 1995 in Srebrenica, the worst massacre of civilians on European soil after World War II.
Tens of thousands of people from around Bosnia and other countries are expected to attend the mass burial on July11th.

The funerals of more than 500 victims of the Srebrenica massacre took place at a memorial cemetery in Bosnia.
Up to 30,000 people from Bosnia and abroad paid homage on July11th to the victims of Europe's worst atrocity since World War II.
Following a simple religious ceremony to commemorate the 17th anniversary of the massacre, the remains of 520 newly identified victims were laid to rest at a memorial cemetery just outside the eastern Bosnian town, where 5,000 others have already been interned over the years.
Nezira Basic, who lost nearly all her male relatives in the massacre, including her brother and her father, unsuccessfully struggled to stay on her feet.
"My brother is gone, my Jusuf, my sunshine," she cried before collapsing on the ground and uttering through sobs, "why, why haven't I died?"
As the names and ages of those being buried were read out on loudspeakers, surviving members of their families - most of them women - sobbed.
"I buried my husband and a son last year and this year I am burying two more sons. What can I say? Did you hear? They just called his name," Sabaheta Becirovic said through tears.

Hundreds of people gathered on Tuesday in Visoko, near Sarajevo, as trucks loaded with the remains of 409 newly identified victims of the 1995 Srebrenica massacre left the morgue, headed for the eastern town where the bodies will be buried on Thursday.
The victims, whose remains were found in numerous mass graves will be reburied at a memorial cemetery near Srebrenica on the 18 anniversary of the massacre.
"I am here to bid farewell to my father and brother. I found them after 20 years. I saw them last time 20 years ago," Bahrija Gabelic said before breaking down in tears.
Some 8-thousand Muslim Bosniak men and boys were killed over just a few days in July 1995, after Serb forces captured the UN-declared safe haven of Srebrenica in the final stage of Bosnia's 1992-95 war.
The victims' bodies are still being exhumed from mass graves in the area, where Serbs had dumped them in an attempt to cover up the crime.
Identified victims are buried each year on the massacre anniversary at a memorial cemetery near Srebrenica.

Srebrenica: Autopsy Of A Massacre
In July 1995, at the height of the Bosnian war, French policeman Jean-René Ruez, arrived in Sarajevo tasked with hunting down snipers. But after hearing rumours thousands of Muslim men were being tortured and executed, he quickly abandoned his original mission. Appointed Chief Investigator by the Hague, Ruez has spent the past 13 years working tirelessly to prove the massacres were planned in adva

In July 1995, in the midst of war in the former Yugoslavia, around 8,000 Muslim men and teenaged boys were massacred at Srebrenica. Now Myriam, a British Muslim, is visiting the site with a group of young people - all of whom were born in the year of the genocide. In an often emotional trip they learn first-hand how easily prejudice can take hold and why this story has important lessons for us all in multicultural Britain today.
The diverse group of young people include Julie, the daughter of Colonel Bob Stewart, who was United Nations Commander of the British forces in Bosnia in the early 90s; and medical student Abdul, who is astonished that he didn’t hear about the story in school. He wonders why, as he feels that “when Muslim people die you don’t learn about it as much.”
The group are all ‘delegates’ for a British charity called Remembering Srebrenica. It is the organiser of UK events for Srebrenica Memorial Day on the 11 July. The UK is the only EU country to officially designate such a day of remembrance.
On this trip, Myriam observes the British students discovering what the story of Srebrenica means for us in Britain today and why it’s so important to remember.

The Bosnian War was an international armed conflict that took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 6 April 1992[8][9][10] and 14 December 1995. The war involved several factions. The main belligerents were the forces of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and those of the self-proclaimed Bosnian Serb and Bosnian Croat entities within Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska and Herzeg-Bosnia, who were led and supplied by Serbia and Croatia respectively.[11][12][13]
The war came about as a result of the breakup of Yugoslavia. Following the Slovenian and Croatian secessions from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1991, the multi-ethnic Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was inhabited by Muslim Bosniaks (44 percent), Orthodox Serbs (31 percent) and Catholic Croats (17 percent), passed a referendum for independence on 29 February 1992. This was rejected by the political representatives of the Bosnian Serbs, who had boycotted the referendum and established their own republic. Following Bosnia and Herzegovina's declaration of independence (which had gained international recognition), the Bosnian Serbs, supported by the Serbian government of Slobodan Milošević and the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), mobilized their forces inside the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to secure Serbian territory, then war soon broke out across the country, accompanied by the ethnic cleansing of the Muslim Bosniak and Croat population, especially in eastern Bosnia and throughout the Republika Srpska.[14]
It was principally a territorial conflict, initially between the Serb forces mostly organized in the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) on the one side, and the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH) which was largely composed of Bosniaks, and the Croat forces in the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) on the other side. The Croats also aimed at securing parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina as Croatian.[15] The Serb and Croat political leadership agreed on a partition of Bosnia with the Karađorđevo and Graz agreements, resulting in the Croat forces turning against the ARBiH and the Croat-Bosniak war.[16] The war was characterized by bitter fighting, indiscriminate shelling of cities and towns, ethnic cleansing and systematic mass rape, mostly led by Serb and, to a lesser extent, Croat[17] forces. Events such as the Siege of Sarajevo and the Srebrenica massacre would become iconic of the conflict.
The Serbs, although initially superior due to the vast amount of weapons and resources provided by the JNA, eventually lost momentum as the Bosniaks and Croats allied themselves against the Republika Srpska in 1994 with the creation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina following the Washington agreement. After the Srebrenica and Markale massacres, NATO intervened in 1995 with Operation Deliberate Force targeting the positions of the Army of the Republika Srpska, which proved key in ending the war.[18][19] The war was brought to an end after the signing of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Paris on 14 December 1995. Peace negotiations were held in Dayton, Ohio, and were finalized on 21 December 1995. The accords are now known as the Dayton Agreement.[20] A 1995 report by the Central Intelligence Agency found that Bosnian Serb forces were responsible for 90% of the war crimes committed during the conflict.[21] As of early 2008, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia had convicted 45 Serbs, 12 Croats and 4 Bosniaks of war crimes in connection with the war in Bosnia.[22] The most recent figures suggest that around 100,000 people were killed during the war.[23][24] In addition, an estimated total of 20,000 to 50,000 women were raped,[25] and over 2.2 million people were displaced,[26] making it the most devastating conflict in Europe since the end of World War II.

DUTCHBAT (military abbreviation of "Dutch battalion") was a nominally Dutch battalion under the command of the United Nations in operation United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR). It was hastily formed out of the emerging first ever Air Mobile Brigade of the Royal Netherlands Armed Forces between February 1994 and November 1995 to participate in peacekeeping operations in the former Yugoslavia. To it fell the role of safekeeping the Muslim enclave of Srebrenica during the Bosnian War. In its third replacement, "Dutchbat III," commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Karremans, the enclave fell to the Bosnian Serbs under Colonel General Ratko Mladić. The forces under Mladić's command proceeded to massacre Srebrenica's male inhabitants after the town's capture.

The Betrayal and Fall of Srebrenica, Europe's Worst Massacre Since World War II (1997)

The Srebrenica massacre, also known as the Srebrenica genocide (Bosnian: Genocid u Srebrenici), was the genocidal July 1995 killing of more than 8,000 Bosniaks, mainly men and boys, in and around the town of Srebrenica during the Bosnian War. The killing was perpetrated by units of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) under the command of General Ratko Mladić. The Secretary-General of the United Nations described the mass murder as the worst crime on European soil since the Second World War. A paramilitary unit from Serbia known as the Scorpions, officially part of the Serbian Interior Ministry until 1991, participated in the massacre, along with several hundred Russian volunteers.
In April 1993, the United Nations declared the besieged enclave of Srebrenica in the Drina Valley of north-eastern Bosnia a "safe area" under UN protection. However, in July 1995, the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR), represented on the ground by a 400-strong contingent of Dutch peacekeepers, Dutchbat, did not prevent the town's capture by the VRS and the subsequent massacre.
In 2004, in a unanimous ruling on the case of Prosecutor v. Krstić, the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), located in The Hague, ruled that the massacre of the enclave's male inhabitants constituted genocide, a crime under international law.[25] The forcible transfer of between 25,000 and 30,000 Bosniak women, children and elderly which accompanied the massacre was found to be confirming evidence of the genocidal intent of members of the VRS Main Staff who orchestrated the massacre.[26] In 2005, in a message to the tenth anniversary commemoration of the genocide, the Secretary-General of the United Nations noted that, while blame lay first and foremost with those who planned and carried out the massacre and those who assisted and harboured them, great nations had failed to respond adequately, the UN itself had made serious errors of judgement and the tragedy of Srebrenica would haunt the UN's history forever.
Serbia and Montenegro was cleared of direct responsibility for or complicity in the massacre, but was found responsible for not doing enough to prevent the massacre and not prosecuting the responsible, in breach of the Genocide Convention. The Preliminary List of People Missing or Killed in Srebrenica compiled by the Bosnian Federal Commission of Missing Persons contains 8,373 names.[1] As of July 2012, 6,838 genocide victims have been identified through DNA analysis of body parts recovered from mass graves;[27] as of July 2013, 6,066 victims have been buried at the Memorial Centre of Potočari.[28] Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić officially apologized for the massacre, although he stopped short of calling it genocide.
The vast amount of planning and high-level coordination invested in killing thousands of men in a few days is apparent from the scale and the methodical nature in which the executions were carried out. A concerted effort was made to capture all Bosniak men of military age. In fact, those captured included many boys well below that age and elderly men above it.[99]
The Army of Republika Srpska took the largest number of prisoners on 13 July, along the Bratunac-Konjević Polje road. It remains impossible to cite a precise figure, but witness statements describe the assembly points such as the field at Sandići, the agricultural warehouses in Kravica, the school in Konjević Polje, the football field in Nova Kasaba, the village of Lolići and the village school of Luke. Several thousands of people were herded together in the field near Sandići and on the Nova Kasaba football pitch, where they were searched and put into smaller groups. In a video tape made by journalist Zoran Petrović, a Serb soldier states that at least 3,000 to 4,000 men had given themselves up on the road. By the late afternoon of 13 July, the total had risen to some 6,000 according to the intercepted radio communication; the following day, Major Franken of Dutchbat was given the same figure by Colonel Radislav Janković of the Serb army. Many of the prisoners had been seen in the locations described by passing convoys taking the women and children to Kladanj by bus, while various aerial photographs have since provided evidence to confirm this version of events.

“Srebrenica: neither Massacre, Nor Genocide” An evil invention by Bill Clinton and Izetbegovic.
“After 14 years of investigating events that took place in Srebrenica in 1995 I can attest there was no genocide over Muslims in that enclave — the myth about the massacre of Muslims was invented by the late Bosnian Muslim war leader Alija Izetbegović and then-U.S. president Bill Clinton,” Swiss researcher Alexander Dorin, author of the book Srebrenica — The History of Salon Racism (Srebrenica — die Geschichte eines salonfahigen Rassismus) told Belgrade daily Press in an exclusive interview.
“The Srebrenica massacre” and the way that the establishment manipulated the media with an orgy of lies formed a blueprint for the following wars. Just like in Ukraine today the western US controlled puppet governments and the US controlled mainstream media supported Nazi's in their warcrimes, and portrayed the good guys as the evil ones and the warcriminals as the good guys. The patterns are exactly the same.
The defeat of Milosevic was not on the battlefield; he was killed in the Scheveningen prison of the European Gitmo, the ICTY, because he was winning his kangaroo case and he was about to expose the role and lies of warcriminals Clinton, Albright, and NATO in the geopolitical NWO agenda of Washington. The expanding attack on the civil society of Serbia was in direct violation of the rules of war, it raised few eyebrows in the West. This aggressive "humanitarian" foreign policy of the USA using NATO as their proxy army is the new norm. While hostage taking and torture is viewed as a form of terrorism, treating the entire population of Serbia as hostages bombing the hell out of them, and imposing mass suffering and death on them to achieve a political end, is acceptable in the West.
Even if it isn't proof of some as-yet-unreleased sinister plan to secure a permanent military presence in the Balkans, the fact that the US didn't even care to avoid the appearance of impropriety in its search for Serb atrocities says a lot about our approach to international relations. It says, 'Go ahead and think the worst about us. We don't care. We've got more bombs than you do.'"
The monstrous lies about what happened in Srebrenica and in the Kosovo province were used to justify the illegal war criminal bombing campaign against serbian people.

In July 1995, at the height of the Bosnian war, French policeman Jean-René Ruez, arrived in Sarajevo tasked with hunting down snipers. But after hearing rumours thousands of Muslim men were being tortured and executed, he quickly abandoned his original mission. Appointed Chief Investigator by the Hague, Ruez has spent the past 13 years working tirelessly to prove the massacres were planned in advance. Haunted by all he has learnt and worn down by the weight of his responsibility, Ruez has sacrificed everything to try and hold the guilty to account. Through his eyes, we gain a fresh perspective on what happened at Srebrenica.
