Neil Joshua Pearson (born 27 April 1959) is a British actor, best known for his work on television. Pearson is an antiquarian book dealer who specialises in the expatriate literary movement of Paris between the wars.
Pearson grew up in Battersea, London. His father, a panel-beater, left home when he was five, and his mother was a legal secretary. He was a boarder at Woolverstone Hall School near Ipswich, Suffolk, where he first learned to act. He attended the Central School of Speech and Drama from 1976 to 1980.
One of Pearson's early appearances was in 1984 alongside Leonard Rossiter in Joe Orton's play Loot at the Lyric Theatre in London; Rossiter died in his dressing-room during a later performance. He won a part in Hat Trick Productions' sitcom Chelmsford 123 and also appeared with Hat Trick executive Jimmy Mulville in That's Love. Pearson narrated Colin Wyatt's animated series The Poddington Peas in 1986.
It was in the roles of associate editor and office lothario, Dave Charnley, in the sitcom Drop the Dead Donkey - another Hat Trick show - and of Detective Superintendent Tony Clark in the thriller Between the Lines (1992-94), that he made his greatest impact on the viewing public.

Jack Kahane (1887–1939) was a Manchester-born writer and publisher who founded the Obelisk Press in Paris in 1929.
He was the son of Selig and Susy Kahane, both Romanian-born immigrants. Kahane, a novelist, began the Obelisk Press after his publisher, Grant Richards, went bankrupt. Going into partnership with a printer, Kahane published his next novel Daffodil under his own imprint, and under one of several pseudonyms he used, Cecil Barr. A publisher of 'dbs' ("dirty books"), Kahane mixed serious work with smut in his list; he was able to take advantage of a legal loophole whereby books published in France in English were not subject to the censorship otherwise practised at the time, but were still subject to confiscation when importation was attempted.
The Obelisk Press published Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer and other works which other publishers would not touch for fear of prosecution, among which were Lady Chatterley's Lover and some of James Joyce's works.
Jack Kahane was the father of Maurice Girodias, who created the Olympia Press.
Bridget Jones is a franchise based on the fictional character with the same name, Bridget Jones. British writer Helen Fielding started her Bridget Jones's Diary column in The Independent in 1995, while chronicling the life of Bridget Jones as a thirtysomething single woman in London as she tries to make sense of life and love with the help of a surrogate "urban family" of friends in the 1990s. The column lampooned the obsession of women with women's magazines such as Cosmopolitan and wider social trends in Britain at the time. Helen Fielding published the novelisation of the column in 1996, followed by a sequel in 1999 called Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Both novels were adapted for the big screen in 2001 and 2004, starring Renée Zellweger as Bridget Jones, and Hugh Grant and Colin Firth as the men in her life: Daniel Cleaver and Mark Darcy. After Fielding had ceased to work for The Daily Telegraph in late 1998, the feature began again in The Independent on 4 August 2005 and finished in June 2006. Helen Fielding released a third novel in 2013, "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy", which is set 18 years later.

Neil Pearson, Software Architect at John Wiley and Sons Inc., presents Wiley's latest developments in enhanced user experience for the chemist. Neil will conduct a live demonstration of the functional chemistry project which adds substantial functionality to chemical content. The functional chemistry project has created new tools that open up Wiley's organic chemistry content, reducing the borders between articles and across different content sources. Key chemical and physical information is linked to structures in the article and to reference information from other works at an article and at a data level. The new tools create a defacto workflow tool which will allow chemists to work more rapidly through chemical information.
An original drama written by Alma Cullen around the characters of Morse and Lewis created by Colin Dexter. The focus is on the time in Morse's career when his mind was developing its incisive edge and his personal life was at its most complex. The year is 1987, and Morse is at the theatre, where the young actress playing Ophelia dies on stage during a performance of Hamlet. A Suspicious Death inquiry begins. When a suspect is murdered, Morse becomes convinced that the two deaths do, somehow, connect with what happened at an Oxford student production of Hamlet which he was a part of in 1962.
