Shocker (also known as Wes Craven's Shocker) is a 1989 American horror film written and directed by Wes Craven. It stars Michael Murphy, Peter Berg, and Mitch Pileggi as the evil antagonist Horace Pinker.
Both Craven and Universal had hoped for the film to launch a franchise (Craven had particularly wanted to create a new series since he felt he had not been given due profits from New Line Cinema for the Nightmare on Elm Street series, which he had began). However, due to the middling commercial performance and poor reception of the film, no sequel was made.
A serial killer, having murdered over 30 people, is on the loose in a Los Angeles suburb. A television repairman with a pronounced limp, named Horace Pinker (Mitch Pileggi), becomes the prime suspect. When the investigating detective, Lt. Don Parker (Michael Murphy), gets too close, Pinker murders Parker's wife, foster daughter, and foster son. However, his other foster son Jonathan (Peter Berg) develops a strange connection to Pinker through his dreams and leads Parker to Pinker's rundown shop. In a shootout in which several officers are killed, Pinker manages to escape. He targets Jonathan's girlfriend Allison (Camille Cooper) in retribution.
After a series of unusual dreams, young football star Jonathan Parker (Peter Berg) captures serial killer Horace Pinker (Mitch Pileggi), a diabolical television repairman responsible for the deaths of several families. Pinker is sentenced to die in the electric chair, but the execution goes awry and more people are mysteriously killed. Jonathan realizes that Pinker has used black magic to transfer himself into electricity, able to travel through power lines into homes through television sets. Despite the skepticism of his police detective father (Michael Murphy), only Jonathan can track Pinker down and destroy him once and for all.

Interviews with the cast and crew of the 1989 film Shocker. Slightly out of sync.
My review of the criminally underrated horror flick, Shocker(1989) starring Peter Berg, Michael Murphy, Mitch Pileggi, Cami Cooper, Sam Scarber, Richard Brooks, and Ted Raimi. Directed by Wes Craven.
Well it's been so hard living here since you've been gone
And when you left i never felt so empty
The change of season hasn't changed me so much, cause i still want to see you.
I'm at the bar with a beer in my hand and I'm thinking of you and a plan so I could...
Wake up and see you for awhile like it was before
And this is a shock, but i won't let this end.
Well i've been so tired, didn't get much sleep last night
He picked me up and we spent all night drinking
But if you were here then i'd go straight home tonight
Cause nothing else mattered with you here.
I'm at the bar with a beer in my hand and I'm thinking of you and a plan so I could...
Wake up and see you for awhile like it was before
And this is a shock, but i won't let this end.
The only reason I stayed here was you.
I never knew that until I met you.
