Abu Musa Island is part of Hormozgan province in Iran. The island is located in the east of Persian Gulf. It is part of a six-island archipelago near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has always maintained sovereignty over the island, despite claims by the United Arab Emirates.
Abu Musa Island is close to 13 square kilometers and it is 46 meters above sea level. It has over 2,000 inhabitants and a population close to 5,000. The Island is 75 kilometers from port city of Bandar Lengeh and 16 kilometers from the Strait of Hormuz. Abu Musa is the farthest island out of the 14 islands of Hormozgan province off the Iranian coast.

Abu Musa (Persian: بوموسی) is a 12.8 km² island part of Hormozgan province in Iran. Located in the eastern Persian Gulf, it is part of a six-island archipelago near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's sovereignty of the islands is disputed by the United Arab Emirates.
Abu Musa's inhabitants call it "Gap-sabzu" (Persian: گپسبزو), which in Persian means "the great green place." On old maps, the island is called:
But in recent century it is also called Bum Musa, Persian for "the land of Musa/Moses" instead of "Boum-Sou".
As of 2012, the island had about 2,131 inhabitants, making it Iran's smallest county. The city of Abu Musa had 1,953 inhabitants in 2012, up 248 from 2006.
Abu Musa island is 75 km from Bandar Lengeh and 16 km from Strait of Hormuz. It is the farthest island (out of 14 islands of Hormozgan) from the Iranian coast of the Persian Gulf. It's 46 m above the sea. The highest place is the 110-meter Halva mountain. Abu Musa city is the center of the island. The weather in Abu Musa is warm and humid, although, compared to the place in the Persian Gulf, Abu Musa has a better climate and the most diverse ecosystem, but it lacks suitable soil and water for farming leaving fishing as the main industry for locals. It is one of the main ports for exporting oil from Iran. Due to the depth of sea, oil tankers and big ships, have to pass between Abu Musa and Greater and Lesser Tunbs; this makes these islands one of the most strategic points for Iran in the Persian Gulf.

The Island is 75 kilometers from port city of Bandar Lengeh and 16 kilometers from the Strait of Hormuz. Abu Musa is the farthest island out of the 14 islands of Hormozgan province off the Iranian coast.

A Message From Some You Love - by Ustadh Imran Abu Musa
Just imagine your loved one...Could be your wife, could be your son, could be your daughter, could be your father, could be your mother, could be your uncle, could be your brother, could be your sister. Anybody that you know you have a connection with, went to another country and they learnt another language and that language you didn't know. You didn't know what that language was and they hadn't had contact with you. Let's assume there's no internet. Let's assume there's no internet. No email, right. So yo're waiting for the post.
No contact. No contact. One year passes, two year passes. No contact. Like it used to be. Like it used to be, right. People call it snail mail. Like it used to be and then suddenly, you receive this letter. From the person you love and you open the letter and it's in another language. It's scribbles for you. You don't know where the sentence begins and you cannot even see where the sentence ends. Its scribbles! What will you do? What will you do to understand this message from somebody you love that you have not heard from, for a very long time. What will you do? You'll rip open the envelope; you will unfold it very, very quickly. You'll be in a huff and a puff and you will go insane, looking for somebody, 'please, please somebody translate what my loved one wants. Translate what is the situation of my loved one. You don't know, who knows? I'll go to him. You want money, here! Translate for me.'
You would do whatever you need to understand that message. Why? Because it comes from somebody you love and here we are dear brothers and sisters. Here we all are. We sit in day in, day out. The Quran on our shelves. The message, the letter sent by The King of kings! The lord of lords! Allaahu subhana wa ta'ala. Allaahu 'azza wa jal. Al Malik al Mulk.
Who sent us down the message, the entire message of Islam. The message of how we should conduct our lives, our curriculum, our criteria, translated in various languages you could even see, but do we even?! Do we even dedicate one hour a day, thirty minutes a day to understand what the one we claim to love has told us? Knowing that every letter we read, not word, every letter. Whether you struggle or don't struggle. Whether you can do the ayn or the da or the dza or ta, whether you find it difficult or not. Do you make that effort to memorize, read, understand, dedicate and translate that message into your heart from the one you love. How long are we going to wait?!
Allaahu subhana wa ta'ala says in the Quran: 'Wa djaa akum an nadier.' There has come to you a warner and the muffasirien explain what is the warner? Some of the 'ulama said the warner is the grey hairs on your body, on your face, on your beard, on your hair. What are we gonna wait for? What's the pause button on for? What are we waiting for? What's holding you back? The news is that interesting. The satellite dish is that absorbing.
You're that tired. This is the letter form the loved one! This isn't like any other speech. The comparison like I said in the hadeeth between the speech of Allaah and all other speech, all other books. All those Google documents and millions, and millions of speeches on this planet, compared to the book of Allaah, is like Allaah compared to His creation. This is the Quran, dear brothers and sisters. That we find ourselves so distant from!

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Abu Taubah was born and raised in New York, he comes from an educated family where his mother was an English teacher turned Principal and his father a politician. He grew up with a love for education, language and teaching. He has been travelling widely around the world from a young age and this led him to a journey of learning about Islam. Over the years he has met and studied with many scholars, activists and duaat. He spent a number of years studying in rural Mauritania under a number of scholars in the traditional way. He has mastered the arabic language and its sciences, memorised the Quran with Ijazah and has also studied hadeeth, aqeedah, usul alfiqh and fiqh. He is the founder the Foundation of Islamic Knowledge & Seminary (The FIKS) where he provides online learning of Arabic and Islamic studies to a number of students from around the world. He is also an instructor for AlKauthar Institute.

Sh. Abu Taubah Bio:
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Abu Taubah was born and raised in New York, he comes from an educated family where his mother was an English teacher turned Principal and his father a politician. He grew up with a love for education, language and teaching. He has been travelling widely around the world from a young age and this led him to a journey of learning about Islam. Over the years he has met and studied with many scholars, activists and duaat. He spent a number of years studying in rural Mauritania under a number of scholars in the traditional way. He has mastered the arabic language and its sciences, memorised the Quran with Ijazah and has also studied hadeeth, aqeedah, usul alfiqh and fiqh. He is the founder the Foundation of Islamic Knowledge & Seminary (The FIKS) where he provides online learning of Arabic and Islamic studies to a number of students from around the world. He is also an instructor for AlKauthar Institute.

Sheikh Saeed Rageah:
Sheikh Saeed Rageah was born in Somalia, raised in Saudi Arabia and in the late 80s found his way to North America. He is married and has four daughters and two sons. He enjoys spending quality time with his family.
He holds a B.A in Islamic studies as well as a Masters in Shari'ah from the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Fairfax, Virginia. Over the years, he has held several posts including founder of Masjid Huda in Montreal, Masjid Aya in Maryland, Muslim Youth magazine and the Aqsa Association.
After serving as an imam in Maryland and Calgary, Sheikh Saeed recently moved to Toronto with his family and is currently serving as an Imam at Abu Huraira Islamic Center. He teaches and travels for Al-Maghrib Institute and he also holds the post of Chairman for the Journey of Faith conference.
His other associations include:
• Founder of Oasis magazine
• Founder 'IQ' (Quranic institute). Now it has branches in USA and Canada
• MBA (Muslim Basketball Association)
• Co-founder and the chairman of Journey of Faith Conference -annual conference in Eastern Canada

Yesterday, in Petra -- the rose red city -- the kingdom's ecotourism project was launched by the inauguration of the first phase with the establishment of three camps in Petra Region -- the first of a total of 22 eco camps originally proposed for this project.
The event was sponsored by Eng. Muhammad Abu al-Ghanam, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners at Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, in the presence of the former Environment Minister Hazem Malhas, dignitaries and representatives of the local community in Petra, who all visited one of the projects' trails at Muniefeh in Wadi Musa.
Eng. Abu al-Ghanam stressed the fact that this quality tourism project will be a valuable addition to what is already available to tourists in Petra, and will enhance the status of the famous city as well as enriching the experience of visitors. He also emphasized the amount of support being given by the PDTRA for this new tourism product which will encourage tourists to stay for longer periods of time and introduce them to the wonders of the natural environment.

The camps are connected in three areas: Shammakh at Shawbak, Umm al-Amad at Finan and Dana nature reserve. Part of the connection process will include the creation of a new mobile camp in Shammakh, creating an ecosystem network, the first of its kind, ending up with 22 camps altogether.
The project will serve as an integrated network for ecotourism in Jordan, including several trails to inform tourists about the geography and natural features of Jordan.
The project is based on a high-end luxury ecotourism network, introducing a new diversified tourism product at regional level. It presents a new face of Jordan, based on the principles of ecotourism, which conserves nature and also facilitates sustainable tourism and development of local communities.
Because the project is based on ecotourism, impact on the environment will be minimal, and as well as developing cultural and environmental awareness and respect for nature, there will be more positive experiences for both guests and hosts. There will also be direct benefits in terms of conservation and empowerment for local communities. According to al-Hasanat, the project anticipates providing 22 jobs in every camp. Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim Bio:
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ustadh Yahya Ibrahim was born in Waterloo, Canada. In his quest for authentic, classical Islamic knowledge, he travelled to meet and studied under some of the most prominent scholars of our era. While attending the University of Toronto, he would travel regularly during his free time to further his knowledge of Islam.
Being proficient in Arabic and English, he grew up translating live, for English audiences, Arabic lectures delivered by visiting Islamic dignitaries from all around the world. Yahya Ibrahim began memorising the Qurʾan at the age of 16 and finished 20 months later, receiving an ijāzah (certification). He began lecturing at the main mosques in Toronto at the age of 17 and has been involved in the Islamic community as a lecturer and translator since 1995, al-ḥamdu li'llāh.
Ustadh Yahya is blessed now to be living in Perth, Western Australia with his wife and two children - Shireen and Omar. He is a regular lecturer to Muslim and non-Muslim audiences there and around the world.
Since arriving in Australia, Ustadh Yahya was a religious adviser, and later a Deputy Principal of the largest Islamic school in Australia. Presently, Yahya is attached to Curtin University as an Islamic Chaplain. He is also a director of a retail company that has grown to 13 Halal food outlets based in shopping centres around Perth and soon, inshāʾAllāh, expanding nationally and internationally.
Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim travels in Australasia, Africa, South East Asia, Europe and Canada to deliver lectures on Islam and Muslims to a variety of audiences. He is committed to spreading a message to Muslims that empowers them spiritually and helps them integrate into the broader community. He is born in the west, raised in the west and lives in the west. A message of anti-militancy, religious tolerance, and moral universality are a part of his outlook.

Sheikh Saeed Rageah:
Sheikh Saeed Rageah was born in Somalia, raised in Saudi Arabia and in the late 80s found his way to North America. He is married and has four daughters and two sons. He enjoys spending quality time with his family.
He holds a B.A in Islamic studies as well as a Masters in Shari'ah from the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Fairfax, Virginia. Over the years, he has held several posts including founder of Masjid Huda in Montreal, Masjid Aya in Maryland, Muslim Youth magazine and the Aqsa Association.
After serving as an imam in Maryland and Calgary, Sheikh Saeed recently moved to Toronto with his family and is currently serving as an Imam at Abu Huraira Islamic Center. He teaches and travels for Al-Maghrib Institute and he also holds the post of Chairman for the Journey of Faith conference.
His other associations include:

• Founder 'IQ' (Quranic institute). Now it has branches in USA and Canada
• MBA (Muslim Basketball Association)

Sheikh Saeed Rageah:
Sheikh Saeed Rageah was born in Somalia, raised in Saudi Arabia and in the late 80s found his way to North America. He is married and has four daughters and two sons. He enjoys spending quality time with his family.
He holds a B.A in Islamic studies as well as a Masters in Shari'ah from the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Fairfax, Virginia. Over the years, he has held several posts including founder of Masjid Huda in Montreal, Masjid Aya in Maryland, Muslim Youth magazine and the Aqsa Association.
After serving as an imam in Maryland and Calgary, Sheikh Saeed recently moved to Toronto with his family and is currently serving as an Imam at Abu Huraira Islamic Center. He teaches and travels for Al-Maghrib Institute and he also holds the post of Chairman for the Journey of Faith conference.

Sharjah is the third largest emirate in the United Arab Emirates, and is the only one to have land on both the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The emirate covers 2,590 km² (1,003 mi²) which is equivalent to 3.3 per cent of the UAE's total area, excluding the islands. It has a population of over 800,000 (2008)The emirate of Sharjah comprises the city of Sharjah (the seat of the emirate), and other minor towns and enclaves. The city of Sharjah, which overlooks the Persian Gulf, has a population of 519,000 (2003 census estimate). Khor Fakkan beach Sharjah City a sister city to Dubai and Ajmân (two fellow emirates) on both its borders. The three urban areas have now expanded to each other's borders. Sharjah is about 170 kilometers away from the UAE capital city Abu Dhabi. Sharjah also owns three enclaves on the east coast, bordering the Gulf of Oman. These are Kalba, Dibba Al-Hisn, and Khor Fakkan, which provides Sharjah with a major east coast port. In the Persian Gulf, the island of Sir Abu Nu'ayr belongs to Sharjah, and Abu Musa is claimed by UAE, but controlled by Iran. Sharjah has an exclave called Nahwa inside the Omani enclave of Madha which borders Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah and Sharjah. Sharjah also encompasses some important oasis areas, the most famous of which is the fertile Dhaid region, where a range of vegetables and fruits are cultivated.

Shabir Ally holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from Laurentian University in Sudbury,Ontario, with a specialization in Biblical Literature, and an M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Toronto with a specialization in Quranic Exegesis. He is now nearing completion of his PhD thesis in Quranic Exegesis at the University of Toronto.
He is the president of the Islamic Information & Dawah Centre International in Toronto where he functions as Imam. He travels internationally to represent Islam in public lectures and interfaith dialogues.
He explains Islam on a weekly television program called 'Let the Quran Speak'.

Over 1,400 years ago Islam unveiled vast information about galaxies, space, sun, moon, light, darkness, heat.. Several verses in the Holy Book of the Muslims al-Qur'an talk in details about many of the galaxies that NASA discovered recently.
ISLAM IS STILL THE FASTEST GROWING RELIGION IN USA AND THE WORLD!!
The truth hurts but also heals if accepted.
Muslims did not impose their faith by the sword, the fights in Persia and Byzantium were for political reasons and until the mid-eighth century the Christians and Jews converted to Islam by their choice as they do now. To this, one may add the example of India, where the great majority remained Hindu throughout the 1,000 years of Muslim rule; likewise Islam was spread to Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Central Asia and many other places by the Arab merchants as well as by the Sufis, which is also enunciated in Karen Armstrong's book, Islam: A Short History.
In the last century numerous western intellectuals, academics, scientists, doctors, psychologists, engineers, lawyers, clerics, sportspeople and others have embraced Islam, with the women being in the majority, obviously without a sword hanging over them.
One should not make it appear that 1.5 billion Muslims are all engaged in violence. Only a few dozen or a few hundred are involved and have hidden political agendas such as wahhabis, Hizbul Ikhwan and Hizb at-Tahrir extremist groups.
