EWS Eyes Wide Shut 1999. Film directed by Stanley Kubrick, this was his last film and he considered it his best work. Stanley died in March 1999 shortly before the film was released in July same year. A doctor becomes distressed and obsessed with having an affair after his wife admits to having sexual fantasies about a man she met on a recent vacation with Bill her husband. She chides him for being dishonest in not admitting to his own fantasies. This sets him off into unfulfilled encounters with a patient's daughter whose father had suddenly died and she called him, he also became obsessed with going with a prostitute. But when he visits a nightclub, where pianist friend Nick Nightingale is playing .he learns about a secret sexual group event taking place where Nick has been engaged to play, He pressures Nick into giving him the password to enter this place and decides to go there unaware how powerful and dangerous this group is. However, he soon learns he gotten into something way over his head and finds he and his family are in dire danger. The film is indeed about secret societies and occult groups that actually do have these type of events the films is littered with symbolism in many aspects to freemasonry, satanic, Illuminati and other related secret organizations that are NOT so secret nowadays as even a short time ago in 1999. They do not fear neither church nor overt society as once was the case due to society becoming less reverent and accordingly they are not short of fodder for their activities. This short film of the ritual scene has intrigued many including myself, The music is called “Priests backwards” played by Nick Nightingale The solemnity of the spoken words is a Romanian liturgy played backwards by the red clocked masked priest with staff that is thudded on the floor to issue commands to the circle of women. Playing prayers or doing actions in reverse is usually a mockery of Christianity. This priest later sits on a throne showing a crown with a double eagle signifying the 33rd degree the highest obtainable in freemasonry. There has been much conjecture that Kubrick was murdered for exposing the secrecy and rituals of occultists. The carnival masks worn usually called Venetian masks became a fashion during 1800’s by the elite at their parties to conceal identities and still do. The sex scenes at the party were shot at Elveden Hall in the U.K. The rooms have a Hindu-Asian atmosphere which hints at Tantric yoga-Tantric sex that plays a very important part in occult groups like OTO (Ordo Templi Orientis) The A.:A.: There are so many symbolic references to the occult in this film and I won’t attempt to include them all, here’s a few: Nick Nightingale, (bird that’s sings in the dark,) the song (“Strangers in the night) the double eagle on the crown, backwards music and words and so many more.
