New York City is an international metropolis built on the shoulders of immigrants and their descendants.
New York City is home to eight million people, and the city receives more than 50 million visitors per year. Your New York City tour should include sampling the food of hundreds of different cultures, and you can explore the easily on foot, by taxi, or via the famous subway system.
No New York sightseeing is complete without a visit to Times Square, which you’ve no doubt seen in many movies. Take in its billboards, its many people, and its food, then cross over to Central Park, which comprises 850 acres of lakes and meadows, and is the setting for many a romantic comedy. You also have your pick of art and history museums, as well as the Reflecting Absence Memorial and Museum, where you can pay your respects to the victims of 9/11.

Our recent week in New York City was an action-packed one. We decided to set ourselves a challenge to see and do as much as we possibly could, and that gave way to this travel video guide which highlights 50 of the top attractions. In a city like New York this means we barely scratched the surface, but hopefully this video will highlight the cornucopia of possibilities that is the Big Apple.
We try our best to cover all of the top attractions including fine arts, entertainment, festivals, dining, architecture and museums as well as focusing on lesser known off the beaten path attractions to cover all forms of tourism. If you only have time to visit only one city in the United States it ought to be NYC, USA:

Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you'll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town.
You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. You can ride roller coasters, stroll down the boardwalk, enjoy some beach time, and then head over the Nathan's Famous hot dogs. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. Strawberry Fields is a section of Central Park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon.
And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. Have you been to New York? What are your favorite things about this city? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Its most famous sight is the monumental Statue of Liberty, but there are the famous skyscrapers like the Empire State Building or the Rockefeller Center, while the twin towers of the World trade Center are sadly missed. Here are some Things to do in NYC :) This 1st of a "Things to do in NYC" is the BASICS. I will do more in depth videos on neighborhoods like Harlem, Brooklyn, Lower East Side which will include shopping, entertainment, eating, all that :) But for now I hope you find this helpful and excited about exploring NYC. I didn't "forget" to list anything. This is just the first video and trust their are a million things to do. Sorry for not including Brooklyn. I rarely go out there and didn't have footage to include in this video. But here goes!
As for the things I listed check them out here:
Statue of Liberty, is located on Ellis Island. It's since been reopened
http://www.statuecruises.com/choose_tickets.aspx
Central Park is cliche and a MUST! Check out the Boat House this summer and rent a paddle boat for $12/hr. Cash only and a $20 deposit is required
http://www.thecentralparkboathouse.com
Magnolia Bakery has an amazing to die for Banana Pudding that used to be so secret which is now another MUST HAVE while in town
http://www.magnoliabakery.com
Katz Deli is a historical landmark that happens to be famous for their sandwiches. Try the pastrami if you're into that...I'm not :/ Yes this is a tourist destination but it's a part of NYC's history hence a MUST!
http://katzsdelicatessen.com
Patricia Field is a NYC fashion fixture! Made famous for her costume designing in The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City: the Movie and sequel, her boutique is another MUST. I love playing dressup here and splurging on accessories!
http://www.patriciafield.com
Need to get around? Rent a bike! I have yet to try this but it seems fabulous! Save your feet and cover more ground. These bikes and bike spots are all over the city. A perfect way to burn calories and see more of the city faster.
http://citibikenyc.com
Caracas! This happens to be a fav spot of mine! It's uber small and the lines can be long but I love the food. Yes it's fried and oh so good! I've never had an Arepa until I came here and the prices are perfect for us budget minded peeps Try it! just read their yelp reviews!

Summer in NYC isn't really summer until you get your butt on a rooftop. My pick was Jimmy Rooftop. Sunday's after 3pm are bomb! Amazing music courtesy of DJ Cato. I believe it is doorman discretion, which means, dress your best and don't travel with a bunch of dudes. You get an amazing view of the sun setting over the Hudson River and you get to splash around in the pool if you so choose. I chose this spot because I used to work here and loved it!

Yes! Go to Church! After you party it up Saturday night or Sunday afternoon bring your sinful behind to this awesome church! You don't have to be religious to attend. This is a non-denominal church and people from all over the world come here for the amazing sermons and not to mention the interior. This Church is a converted theatre and a must see. Now go and pray!
http://www.tscnyc.org
My spot! We in my hood now. You MUST go to Orange Beauty Supply! I used to buy all my hair products here when I had hair and you def need to buy a wig here. I take all my gurls here and hook them up with a fabulous synthetic or human hair wig just cause!
Apollo!!! You MUST go here on amateur night! It's historical! You either boo or cheer for the talent on stage. You must have an opinion! Quiet indifference is not tolerated :)
A real life YouTube comment board in live action! I've been here countless times and it's a great way to get the energy up!

New York is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world.
The most important places to visit in New York are: Brooklyn Bridge (built in 1883, it is one of the oldest suspension bridges in America and continues to inspire the people of New York City), Wall Street (the bull here makes everyone happy. See where billions are won or lost in seconds), Central Park (one of the world's greatest urban parks. Get involved in an outdoor activity or watch New Yorkers go about their exercise routines), Empire State Building (an American icon, which was built remarkably during the Great Depression. Ride to the top for unmatched city views), Times Square (best experienced at night. First time visitors are simply in awe amidst the bright neon lights), Statue of Liberty (this is one landmark you must visit. The ultimate symbol of New York City).
If you want to save time and money, the most important New York travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

TRAVEL ESSENTIALS FOR NEW YORK CITY | New York City Travel Guide

I revisited New York for a week (but I actually lived there for 9 years.. and I know this: gife in New York City revolves around three things: time, speed and efficiency. In fact a lot of Manhattanites live by daily mental check lists and feel like they never have enough time to everything they want and need to do. Today I'm going to share with you my top 5 travel tips for surviving the Big Bad Apple (aka New York City).
1. Bring comfortable and practical shoes. Now I know a lot of you have probably watched Sex & the City and the women in that TV show always wear high heels. That's because they were taking taxi cabs everywhere. Unless you're taking taxi cabs everywhere , be prepared to walk. A lot. you'll be walking up and down stairs, you'll be taking the metro and the bus all around and you'll be walking blocks and blocks and BLOCKS! Being from Hawaii I was practically born in flip-flops and when I moved to New York, I realized they just didn't work there.
2. Don't stop in the middle of a busy sidewalk or at the entry of a subway station. I like to think of busy New York sidewalks as kind of like the pedestrian version of the German Autobahne. If you're going to stop on the sidewalk or when you emerge from the subway station pull off to the side so other people can pass you by. Simple as that.
3. It is a well-known belief that New Yorkers happen to be very impatient, therefore, next tip is if you're waiting in a checkout line, have your wallet ready when you get to the cash register. The last thing you want to do is wait until you get to the very front, have the cash register ring you up your purchase, tell you what it is and then you... open your bag to look for your wallet. You might not make the cashier or the people behind you very happy. Remember, good customer is not a requirement in New York city. It's an option.
4. Now a lot of people think that New York City is an expensive place to live as well as to visit. That can't be furthest from the truth. The two things that tend to be expensive in New York City are rent and a hotel room. Outside of that you'll find that Manhattan actually has a lot of free activities, like concerts in Central Park, or Shakespeare in the park. You have street markets and street vendors who sell things at a very discounted rate. You don't need to rent a car, you can always take public transportation. In fact, you can buy daily, weekly and monthly unlmited metro passes. If you love to eat, there's always hole-in-the-wall restaurants with good food, for cheap! Also if you love shopping, New York doesn't have sale tax on clothes.
Now last, where to find toilets. New York isn't really known for having a whole lot of public toilets and if it did, I don't know if you'd actually really want to use them. People can be dirty. But if you really had to go and were looking for a spot to go in, then my best suggestion is: Mc Donald, Starbucks, public museums as well as the New York public libraries. some parks migh have them but I wouldn't count on them. One handy app I have is Sit n Squat. It's downloadable for free by Charmin and it will help you locate the nearest toilet whether paid or free on your phone.

Travel video about destination New York in the United States of America.
New York is capital city of the American Dream, with its population drawn from each corner of the world. The Empire State Building is a symbol of the glamour and fascination of this frenetic city, yet the Chrysler building is just as imposing, its unusual tower being decorated with car motifs such as bonnets, hub caps and car wheels of the 1930‘s. Wall Street derived its name from a wall which had been erected to protect the emerging town from attack by Native American Indians and now most of the city is an open powerhouse of ceaseless activity with a constant mêlée of car horns, sirens, and screeching tyres.Greenwich Village is one of the few areas of the city that has no clearly-defined symmetry. Attractive steps grace many of its 19th century houses of red brick and brown sandstone and, until the 1960‘s, many important artists and authors lived there, such as Edgar Allen Poe and Henry James. Little Italy, Chinatown, The Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty, Broadway, Times Square…each has its own colourful stories to tell amid the fantastic man-made Manhattan glass horizons: the skyscrapers which shamelessly reach up to the heavens and exclaim that New York is most assuredly the commercial capital of the universe.

Vacation travel video about destination New York City in New York.
New York continues to be one of the world’s most famous cities, a true world metropolis and major symbol of the American Dream. Manhattan Island is the city’s most well known district and the Rockefeller Center in Midtown is often referred to as the heart of the New York. Nearby the Roman Catholic Saint Patrick´s Cathedral is the largest and most magnificent church in the United States. The Grand Central Terminal divides Park Avenue and is a huge station with which the railroad kings, the Venderbilts, left an indelible mark. The huge hall, with its magnificent vaulted ceiling in Beaux Arts style, has been the city’s central railway station for twelve lines since 1913. The confines of Chinatown are inhabited by a hundred and fifty thousand Chinese from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, most of whom are unable to speak a word of English. Chinese characters wherever one looks and restaurants and Asian stores on every street corner. The famous Wall Street was named after a wall which in the early days protected the growing city against attack by Native American Indians. However, the roots of its subsequent claim to fame were laid in 1792. The young state desperately needed investment and therefore the powers that be decided to issue bonds. Close by, on a small island, is New York’s most famous landmark, the Statue Of Liberty. The head of Lady Liberty leads to the crown from which there are stunning views from several windows. New York City is most certainly unique. A city that’s very much alive and kicking, self-confident and always a surprise!

http://www.expedia.com/Times-Square-New-York.d502080.Vacation-Attraction
When you’ve explored Central Park and Midtown Manhattan, it’s time to tour Times Square.
This is the glowing center of the New York Theater District. When you picture New York, Times Square is probably the second thing that comes to mind (after the city’s famous skyline), with its neon signs, giant buildings, and constant stream of humanity coming and going. Times Square adopted its name in 1904, after the New York Times moved in. The newspaper has since moved on, but the moniker stuck.
Once you arrive in the Big Apple, head on down to the center of Times Square, where you’ll find a plaza for you to sit, hang out, and people-watch. Shop at the many stores lining the Square, or lean back to see the top of notable buildings belonging to businesses like Hershey and M&M.; When the sun goes down, the lights shine even brighter; follow the signs and billboards to the theatres, where you’ll find the musicals, comedies, and dramatic performances you didn’t even realize you were searching for.
Your Times Square sightseeing isn’t over after you take in a play, though. Why not explore some of the various restaurants and cafes that are open late at night? After all, New York is The City That Never Sleeps—why should you?

.. es funktioniert. Kein Haken, kein wenn und aber!
Für Eilige, sofort hier mehr Infos:
http://promo.ag2014.16759.digistore24.com/
So nun aber eins nach dem anderen.
Ich selbst reise sehr gerne, und man kann auch sagen
sehr viel. Egal ob Privat oder Beruflich, ich bin mehrmals
pro Monat unterwegs.
Auto, Bahn, Flug, Hotel. Immer auf der Jagd nach Schnäppchen.
Denn ich will beim reisen sparen.
"Low Cost Weltenbummler" nennt.
http://promo.ag2014.16759.digistore24.com/
Wir hatten sofort einen sehr guten Draht zueinander, und arbeiten
schon fast 1 Jahr eng zusammen.
zittern!
Seit nunmehr 14 Jahren reist Ralf (fast) umsonst um die Welt.
Hier mal Beispiele ..
.. 10 Tage Mauritius im 5 Sterne mit Halbpension für 400 Euro
.. 1 Woche Mallorca im 4,5 Sterne Hotel mit All Inklusive für NULL Euro
.. 8 Wochen Mietwagen in den USA mir 4175 Dollar Rabatt
Glauben Sie nicht? Dann schauen Sie mal hier:

Sunday's Political Talking Heads were abuzz on television over news that former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is considering an independent bid for the presidency. The New York Times reported on Saturday that the New York Billionaire is thinking about a third-party bid after seeing the glaring political problems both parties face. Meanwhile, his potential opponents offered their responses. On Meet The Press, Hillary Clinton proclaimed that she planned to nab the Democratic Nomination, so Bloomberg wouldn't have to worry about running. Donald Trump said on Face the Nation that Bloomberg would be an ideal opponent, since they were "opposite" on so many issues like gun control, abortion, and as Trump said "A lot of things." Bloomberg has yet to formally announce a presidential bid.

New York lifted a travel ban and mass transit started getting back to normal on Sunday after a record-setting blizzard in the U.S. Northeast, but Washington remained at a standstill following storms that killed at least 19 people across the country.
The blizzard was the second-biggest snowstorm in New York City history, with 26.8 inches (68 cm) of snow in Central Park by midnight on Saturday, just shy of the record 26.9 inches (68 cm) set in 2006, the National Weather Service said.
Thirteen people were killed in weather-related car crashes in Arkansas, North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia on Saturday. One person died in Maryland and three in New York while shoveling snow. Two died of hypothermia in Virginia, officials said.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said Sunday would be a major cleanup day. He urged residents to stay off streets so city crews could clear roads.
“The snow pile is going to be with us for a while, but I think we'll be in good shape in the next 24 hours," he said on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopolous."
After the storm moved out into the Atlantic Ocean, much of the Northeast was expected to see a mix of sun and clouds on Sunday with temperatures just above freezing.
New York state Governor Andrew Cuomo lifted a travel ban on New York City-area roads and on Long Island at 7 a.m. (1200 GMT) on Sunday. A state of emergency declared by Cuomo was still in place.
Most bus and subway services operated by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority were up and running again by 9 a.m. (1400 GMT), officials said. The agency was working on restoring full service on Sunday.
The Metro-North rail line, which serves suburbs north and east of New York City, expected to have commuter train service running into and out of New York by 3 p.m. (2000 GMT) on Sunday.
A spokeswoman for the New York Stock Exchange said the market planned to open as usual on Monday. City schools also were set to open on Monday.
The New York Sanitation Department had plowed all streets at least once, and was focusing on Sunday on secondary and side streets, the mayor's office said in a statement.
The city was deploying more than 2,300 pieces of snow-clearing equipment and keeping sanitation workers on 12-hour shifts, it said.
RECORDS SET
The National Weather Service said 17.8 inches (45.2 cm) fell in Washington, and Baltimore-Washington International Airport notched a record 29.2 inches (74.2 cm). The deepest regional total was 42 inches (106.7 cm) at Glengarry, West Virginia.
Peter Hoeppe, head of reinsurer Munich Re's Geo Risks research unit, said in a statement that it was too early to estimate possible losses from the storm.
Washington was a dazzling white under a bright sun, and walkers, sledders, some cars and the occasional cross-country skier were out on Sunday.
Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a call for 4,000 people to help dig the city out, above the 2,000 volunteers already signed up.
The House of Representatives canceled its voting until Feb. 1.
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority had suspended operations through Sunday. Public schools were closed on Monday across much of the Washington and Baltimore region, with some shuttered through Tuesday.
One Washington food store, Broad Branch Market, opened with a handful of employees, and was trying to organize volunteers to shovel the sidewalks of the elderly and others who needed help.
“I have a lot of people on the list (who want shoveling) but I have yet to have any kids sign up to work today,” said the owner, Tracy Stannard.
The market is out of firewood, snowmelt chemical and bread - but is baking baguettes, she said. A snow plow stuck on a nearby street late on Saturday was still there on Sunday.
At Dupont Circle, hundreds of people gathered to pelt each other with snowballs. Jomel Nichols, a tourist from Kansas City, Missouri, accompanying three exchange students and her daughter, was plastered with snow.
"They all turned on me, as teenagers will do," she told Reuters Television.

"They all turned on me, as teenagers will do," she told Reuters Television.

MAN SNOWBOARDS THROUGH NEW YORK BLIZZARD. New Yorkers are a resilient bunch—the kind to live life to the fullest even in the face of danger. So when Mayor Bill de Blasio imposed a 2:30 PM travel ban for yesterday's historic blizzard, a lot of people just saw an opportunity to have a full-blown snow day.
In one of the best videos we've seen of blizzard hijinks, rogue YouTuber Casey Neistat turned Manhattan into his own extreme snow park. He had his buddy start up his car, and he tethered himself to the moving vehicle while on a snowboard. Later, another thrill-seeker joined on a pair of skis, and the two moved full speed ahead.
He clearly won Internet with this stunt, he even managed to win over the NYPD, who were ordered by de Blasio to arrest anyone up to such antics. When an officious-looking police car stopped Neistat and his friends at the end of the video, we held our breath.

The former Congressman and husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin thinks Bloomberg has a good shot at the presidency this time around. One almost New York mayor thinks a former New York mayor could be the next president. Anthony Weiner, the former Congressman and one-time New York City mayoral frontrunner, told The Daily Beast on Sunday that the prospect of Michael Bloomberg running for president is not so far-fetched. “I suppose he could win,” Weiner said considering a potential three-man race between Bloomberg, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders.

US blizzard 2016: New York begins clear-up after mammoth snowfall
A travel ban in New York City has ended as the eastern US begins digging out from the weekend's massive snowstorm.
New York, the most populated city in the US,...
A travel ban in New York City has ended as the eastern US begins digging out from the weekend's massive snowstorm.
New York, the most populated city in the US, saw its second-highest snowfall since records began in 1869, Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
As five states saw snowfall of three feet (91cm) or more, the hazards of shovelling snow were brought home by at least six deaths.
A further 12 people have died in other snow-related incidents since Friday.
The storm, dubbed Snowmageddon and Snowzilla on social media, is weakening and heading for the Atlantic Ocean.
It has affected some 85 million people, cutting power to 200,000 people. The heaviest fall was recorded in Glengary, West Virginia, which had 42ins (107 cm).
In Washington DC, the metro is set to remain closed and air travel in the region faces further disruption.
Some 7,000 flights were cancelled this weekend and disruption is to continue into the working week, with at least 615 cancelled for Monday.
Elements often come together to create snow, but not always in the same way and to this extent - it was the perfect winter storm
A low pressure system was able to transport and circulate huge amounts of moisture north from the Gulf of Mexico
The position of the jet stream allowed a low pressure system to be picked up and drawn northwards along the eastern seaboard
Very warm air falling into very cold air from the north and mixing meant there was only one thing that would happen - snow
Very strong winds: low pressure moves in one direction and high pressure in another and, much like cogs in a wheel, they increased the wind
The storm moved especially slowly, leading to more snow being dumped over a long time
Many people have taken to streets and parks to enjoy the snow, with a giant snowball fight breaking out on Times Square, New York, overnight.
By the time the snow had stopped falling after two days, late on Saturday, New York's Central Park had received 26.8in, the second-biggest fall recorded since 1869.
The total was just 0.1in (0.25cm) shy of the all-time high, 26.9in, recorded in February 2006.
However, the 26.6in that fell in the park on Saturday alone was a one-day record for the city.
Governor Andrew Cuomo said the Long Island Rail Road would remain out of action until at least Monday as the line had suffered "significant damage".
"This one is a cautionary tale for all of us," Mr de Blasio said on Sunday. "A storm that a day before, on Friday, was still being projected at eight to 12 inches, ends up being close to 27 inches."
States of emergency were declared in 11 states and in the District of Columbia.
DC director of homeland security Chris Geller warned on Sunday that roads would turn icy overnight, and urged people not to drive.
The capital's mayor, Muriel Bowser, asked residents to help clear snow from the business district.
In Kentucky, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, drivers were stranded for hours on snowbound highways.
At least five people in the New York area died while shovelling or removing snow, the New York Times reports. A sixth death was reported in Baltimore, Maryland.
Among other deaths attributed to the storm was that of a man in North Carolina who stopped to help a motorist whose car had veered off an icy road. Police said the Good Samaritan was shot by the man he had gone to help.
In Ohio, a teenager sledding behind an all-terrain vehicle was hit by a lorry and killed.

With new mayor DeBlasio in and stop and frisk under review, is New York's crime poised to rise again? The South Bronx burned, Harlem overdosed, and Brooklyn was ruled by the knives and bicycle chains of feral gangs. Then it got worse. The Mafia poured tons of China White onto the street and 13 year old warlords peddled vials of cocaine to passing cars. The media, and our own memories, present us only with a photo album of these times; an incident here, and incident there; the 77 Blackout, Bernie Goetz, crack heads, John Gotti. Streets of New York brings the fragments of New York s social unraveling circa 1970-1990 into a contiguous form, so that we may inspect it for clues about how we may more precisely control the social order in all of our cities. The documentary subtly explores issues of race, and the media prism that separates criminal events into levels of importance by geography and social standing of criminals and victims. A treasure of archival television footage was unearthed to catalogue such phenomena as the Devil s Rebels gang terrorizing Bushwick Brooklyn in 1976, police involvement in Harlem s heroin trade, crack users getting high on camera, the worst mass murder in recent New York history, and the implementation of Rudy Giuliani s Compstat program in the War on Crime. Eleven New Yorkers talk about their own experiences from the streets to Riker s Island. We follow NoNo, a former gang member from 70 s era Sunset Park, Brooklyn, from being stabbed in a pizzeria at age 11 to crossing paths with the Son of Sam in prison; noted rapper Thirstin Howl III (former partner of Eminem) from his days robbing people for their coats in Times Square to starring on MTV s Lyricist Lounge television show in the late 90 s; and the best friend of the infamous Pistol Pete Rollack tells us how the Soundview section of the Bronx still has the cloud of death and prison hanging over it to this day. The tales of crime are placed within the larger socio-economic context of ethnicity, gentrification, and politics, through unique statistics and visual elements.
