This place is known for two things: the long queue and the staff. I have been warned about the horrible service here but when my friends and I arrived they were absolutely kind. Maybe we went on a good day when it wasn't too crowded.

When we got there, we had no idea what to order and we couldn't read the menu. Luckily, they had English menus. Yay! So don't forget to ask for that. The staff were very patient taking our orders and super attentive (maybe they wanted us to leave). Order the egg sandwich! By itself, with ham or whatever. It was phenomenal! I cannot describe how great and buttery and delicious the eggs were made. Do yourself a favor and order two so you can bring home one for your next meal.

Super cheap prices. Didn't witness rude staff. I actually think they liked us foreigners. If you're a local, you're supposed to know what you want before getting there as I have been told. Or you will witness rushed and rude service. With the cheap prices and delicious food, I would definitely wait in line for it. And did I mention the food came 30 seconds after we ordered?

A revisit after such a long period of time that I almost forgot it's a well known tourist spot nowadays. We all know it's signature scrambled eggs and desserts.. but it's the logistic flow they implemented amazed me yet again!

Long queue? Not a problem, don't think it took me over 15mins wait even though I was at the far end of the street. Your food arrived 30seconds after you ordered and you probably finished your meal within 20 mins.

4 stars go towards how they streamlined their logistic flow to provide extreme efficient service while maintaining the consistency on the food quality.

this place is essentially what i think about when thinking about hong kong. the best eggs you will ever eat! and the traditional hong kong breakfast done right with the macaroni and all. My favorite is the egg sandwich and then the egg pudding/custard thing. it's BOMB. i like to eat it hot since the flavor is just better.

you will be forced to order very quickly. almost immediately once you sit down since their menu is pretty basic. if you don't know how to read chinese it will definitely be a struggle since there's no english menu at least when i went. they will have your food ready in a speedy fashion and then you'll be asked to leave. there has only been one time where the staff didn't ask us to leave and that was because i was with a bunch of white exchange students and they didn't know what to do with us. LOL

So there were two places I was told that you had to go for Milk Pudding and this was one of them. And I loved it.

Now, I can see why milk pudding would not be for everyone, it's very sweet and hot or cold, it can be strange. But I loved the strangeness. I loved sitting and ordering and having my food come out super fast and enjoying.

Now, unlike the other spot, which shall not be named (ok, it's Yee Shun), this one was a little more laid back. You sat and ate and could kind of take your time. We didn't feel rushed here at all, and that was nice.

Plus, my god those eggs are good. Five stars, don't miss it!

YUM YUM YUM... This is all that comes to mind when I think of this place. Australia Dairy Company is your traditional hong kong café that serves different types of toasts, macaroni soups, various breakfasts, and fresh soymilk. The pudding/custards are SO SMOOTH and SILKY!

    FOOD..
Cold Egg Pudding - I wasn't a fan of this because the egg flavor was very overpowering.. but I can see how people really enjoy it. The flavor is very nice and smooth if you like egg flavor! It might taste better hot than cold so maybe that is worth a try!

Cold Milk Pudding - My favorite cold dessert here. Think of it as a gelatinized milk pudding that is lightly sweetened.

    DRINKS..
Iced Milk Tea - not a bad choice to have here. Pretty standard.

    TIPS++
COME EARLY! If you don't, you'll be stuck waiting. And If you come late or you get stuck waiting.. By the time you finally get a seat, you'll notice that they start to rush you out too!

Believe the hype!  The scrambled eggs on buttered toast are as good as it gets.  Light, fluffy, buttery - the eggs are pretty close to perfection.  Is it MSG?  Is it that they are just a hint undercooked?  No matter, they are delish.  The iced milk tea is quite good as well especially on a hot, muggy night.

LINES: I came for a late snack after 10:00pm and there was no line unless you were in a group of 4 or more.

SERVICE: Service was no-nonsense and super fast without rushing you.  It was pretty obvious that I didn't speak Chinese and they handed me a bilingual menu.  No complaints here.  This is the kind of place where they give you the check and you pay up front.  Quick and efficient with no frills.

Always heard about this place so bookmarked this for my trip to HK. On my first day, I had lunch and I was just walking around Kowloon with my mom. She pointed at a long line and she was like let's check it out. Turns out it was Australia Dairy Company! I was stuffed from lunch but still waited in line for their custards.

Ordered the milk and egg custard (cold). You can choose hot or cold. Both were so silky and smooth. I liked the egg custard more because it was more flavorful.

Lines are long but move fairly fast. They will seat you with strangers. They seated my mom & me at a table for four. A girl at our table was also from Socal so we chatted while eating haha.

We came around 9am and the line was scary long so we opted for carry out! No wait at all. Coffee and condensed milk toast was delish, the menu taped outside the front window doesn't have English on it so good luck! And the guy taking your carry out order will speak at the speed of train and will keep telling you to you slow down when speaking your order.

I went for a late brunch and although it was packed, I didn't end up waiting in line! The table we had was small and in a narrow little space behind a pillar, but i actually liked the privacy. The custards are amazing and I tried them both hot and cold. I also really enjoyed the eggs, but the soup not so much (I just had the sense it was canned, but my companions liked it).
I did not need to order in Chinese - everything was clearly written in English and our waiter also spoke English.
    Would definitely go again!

If I had to reach back into my memory bank for what I remember a traditional breakfast in Hong Kong was, it'd be Australia Dairy Company. Keep in mind, these memories are from when the last time I was in HK, which was in 1999, but I like to think my taste buds have some top notch muscle memory.

The egg white dessert thing gave me goosebumps. The macaroni with bits of ham in a broth gave me goosebumps. The egg sandwiches gave me goosebumps. The iced milk tea gave me goosebumps. Everything about this place gave me goosebumps. Even the gruff service gave me chills down my spine!

But forreal, if you don't know what you're ordering, be ready to be scolded. I put my cup of water close to the edge of the table to make way for the spread we ordered and I got a lecture about being a dummy for putting something so close to the edge that it's going to spill. Only someone who works at one of these quick sit-down spots in HK can give one of these cold-blooded scoldings that make you feel terrible about yourself. And I liked it.

If you've NEVER had eggs or milk before then come here.

"Have you noticed that the waiters all have Rolex watches and are rude?" This was my warning from my Uncle who's lived in HK for 45 years.

That's what this place is known for he tells me, more so then their food, so sit back and watch the show.

The line goes by quickly, only because they feed you as if you were in a bad orphanage and place you together with strangers, toss bowls of food at you, then kick you out.

I had everything there was to have at this place, their scrambled eggs, macaroni soup, pudding, etc.

Think average. It is what it is. The macaroni soup is watery, the scrambled eggs are no different than what my brother makes, and the milk is chilled and fresh.

    So why the crowds?

Well, given that it's HK I can't really think of another breakfast place that offers freshly scrambled eggs American style with fresh milk.

Maybe it pulls on the tourist's heartstrings.

They tossed our food out to us so fast that some of the soup spilled on my jeans and my Uncle said, "I told you so."

I also noted that they seem to prefer Cantonese speakers, so I quickly ditched my English. In fact as I was listening to them talk they were literally complaining in Cantonese about the English speaking tourists at the other table.

They seemed to treat me better once they knew I could not only speak but understand them, so then he offered me some napkins as a peace offering.

    Wow, what a crazy place.

Not worth the hassle just for a plate of scrambled eggs.

I can make my own at home without the drama.

If you can get over the line that you are destined to experience regardless of the time that you want to go and you are with someone "who reads and speaks Chinese", I would absolutey say try out the Austrailia Dairy Company.

There are no hints that anything is from Austrailia and it looks more like a very busy hospital cafeteria, white tiled environment, but I am glad we stopped in for a late afternoon snack.  My husband reads Chinese, so I did not have problem, but know that THE MENU IS ENTIRELY IN CHINESE and the staff does not look the type to be helpful whatsoever in interpretting it for you.  We were crammed in a tiny booth with two people we did not know, so know that it is that kind of enviroment as well.  Turn and burn...get people in and out...all about the volume!

Per other Yelp reviews we saw, we ordered the lunch set, which included BBQ macaroni (in a soup broth), toast with scrambled eggs & ham and one hot or cold drink.  I know it is only a little egg and bread concoction, but it is really tasty.  Great eggs & buttery!  Even the BBQ macaroni is so simple, but a nice little snack and the broth was good.  The coffee was also excellent too and this was not expected (it is a good coffee bean and good quality). The lunch set was only $38HKD...a super value!

This place is simple Chinese comfort foods with outside influences...because macaroni is not Chinese.

Don't wait in the line unless you are prepared for the no english reading or speaking environment, but I would definatley go back if I was in the area....and the line was not long.

Pros: Customer turnover is quick, menu is simple.

However, I still don't get the hype about this place! I agree, scrambled eggs on toast is always nice. But well, their scrambled eggs are still scrambled eggs - I've had just as good.

Milk tea wasn't bad - didn't like the egg white with milk pudding (although I had the cold version).

It's nice, but I'm sure there are better places to explore.

Okay, so some of you must have already heard everyone ranting and raving about how this place is a must try.  And some of you probably heard it was overhyped.
Well, I do agree that it is quite hyped up but at the same time, you get some damn good food with that classic no-frills HK cafe style ambiance.

I mean there are plenty of other places that serve up breakfast combos for around $30-ish or so.  But if you want to see efficiency at its finest, look no further.  They move people in and out pretty quick and are quick to get your order down and food served at your seat within a minute or two.

Okay, so here is the most simplistic breakdown of what you can expect for the whopping $30 or so you'll spend.  Soup w/ bbq pork (char siu) with either macaroni or spaghetti, buttered bread with a choice of being toasted (please do toast it and add sugar to it), eggs either scrambled or sunny-side up and a milk tea or coffee (either hot or cold).

For most Westerners, this environment can be intimidating (or perceived as cold and rude) but hey, you're visiting (or living) in HK so get used to it.  This is how people get down at these type of HK cafes

Please save room for their milk or egg custards too!  If you're looking to get the most flavor out of it, get it hot.  I know that it can be humid as hell outside but you'll appreciate the taste more when it is warm.

Is a little crazy how pack this place is. But I love the steam egg. Service is quick but not rude. They tend to be understanding if you don't know what you want. Go before 12 noon to avoid the lines. The space is tight and they will use every single seat. Nearby is cheap street shopping.

Arrived at 10am and waited in line for at least 30 minutes before getting inside. The line moves fairly quickly as the customers just eat quickly and get out. As mentioned in the reviews below, there is only a Chinese menu, no English translation. They offer set meals, and for breakfast 早餐, it consists of two triangular slices of thick buttered toast, their absolutely delicious creamy (and buttery) scrambled eggs or two fried sunny side-up eggs, a large bowl of macaroni and sliced ham soup, and choice of coffee or tea. My friend and I ordered a breakfast set each, $32 - scrambled eggs and iced milk tea (add extra $2 for ice), which brought the total to $68. Fairly priced.

I was worried that the waiters would push us to eat faster, but they never nagged us. The food came out very fast - within one minute of placing our order, a waiter brought us the macaroni soup and our iced milk teas. The eggs, my god, the eggs were pure creamy, buttery goodness. Try it.

Yes, they are rude, and yes, you will sit on a narrow chair at a table with complete strangers. So what? You'll also only be here for 20 minutes. You're here for the breakfast set menu because you can't really beat the spread, the price, and you don't want to try to fumble your way through the a la carte sections. Everyone here is in a rush. There are no special orders and no one has an opinion to offer on the menu. The breakfast menu will get you a choice of eggs--you want scrambled, because look around, everyone is eating their eggs scrambled. You also want them scrambled because these eggs will make you question everything you thought you knew about scrambled eggs. They're fluffy, light, and actually tasty. You'll get two thick slices of white bread, buttered obviously. You'll get a milk tea, and then you'll get the strange but oddly tasty, chicken soup with macaroni and ham. It's weird, but it just works. Most importantly, for $5 USD you're stuffed and you've had an authentically Hong Kong breakfast experience.

This is one of those hype but consistently hyping places. People are constantly talking about it so I had to check out it out. Did it live up to the hype? Is it worth the 10 minute or so line? Is it heavenly food? - the breakfast set of scrambled eggs, toast, macaroni and ham - scrambled eggs yes - everything else - meh and that's how its supposed to be. The heavenly part - the double boiled custard - just heavenly.
So smooth, not too sweet and just the right amount of richness. I would come back just for the double boiled custard. The atmosphere of people moving in and out of a restaurant is just what Hong Kong is about. It's about constant movement - which is why the line moves so fast, it's about the down to earth food, it's all part of the Hong Kong experience, Hong Kong lifestyle.

This is one of the traditional Hong Kong styled cafes, and one of the most popular places in Hong Kong. Except definitely not for me.

    Service: 1/5  (or should i say 0?)
Known notoriously within Hong Kong for the rude waiters and horrendous service. The waiters will get you a table, dump the food on your table, and hurry you and kick you out of the restaurant before you finish swallowing your last bite.

    Food: 2/5
They serve a very local style made scrambled eggs and macaroni soup. Their scrambled eggs are very watery and honestly, i can get the same broth at other places. So i don't really understand the horrendously long lines outside the restaurant. I suppose it's because local restaurants like these are very rare nowadays.
