CITY TOUR IN OSH BY BUS - JUERGEN SCHREITER - DISCOVERING KYRGYZSTAN 10 DAYS ADVENTURE- AND TREKKING TOUR by Juergen R. Schreiter Globetrotter www.JuergenSchreiter.com Day 1 Bishkek city. Full day city tour in Bishkek. Visit main square Ala Too and see guardians of honor, Manas and Kurmandjan Datka monuments, Oak park and fine art gallery under clear sky. Also visit State Historical Museum Day 2 Bishkek city – Son Kul Lake. Morning transfer to Son Kul Lake. En route visit Burana Tower Historical complex. Lunch in Kazakh family in Tokmok town. Transfer to Son Kul. Arrival and accommodation in yurts. Inspection the camp and territory around. Dinner and overnight in yurt camp. Day 3 Son Kul Lake – Tash Rabat caravanserai. Morning at leisure on Son Kul Lake. Walking around the area and still time for 2 hours horse riding before we continue. Lunch in camp and transfer to Tash Rabat caravanserai. Transfer via Moldo Ashuu pass and arrive to Naryn town, then proceed closer to the border with China. Stop in Kara Koum canyon, near Tash Rabat caravanserai. Accommodation in yurt camp. Dinner and overnight. Day 4 Tash Rabat caravanserai – Karakol town. Long driving day. Transfer first to Kochkor village. Stop for a lunch. See famous souvenir shop museum and demonstration of producing felt. Continue drive to Karakol town. Reach south shore of the Issyk Kul Lake and transfer along. Arrival to Karakol town. Accommodation in a hotel. Dinner and overnight. Day 5 Karakol town – Karkara valley. Early morning transfer to Karkara valley. Stop in Karkara tent camp and get helicopter excursion to South Inylchek glacier to the Khan Tengri base camp. That was our plan, because some rain and many clouds we had to skip the helicopter flight for that day and waiting for better weather. Lunch and plenty of time to walk around Karkara valley, only 12m apart from the border to Kazakhstan. We even had a swim in the border river after our sauna. Dinner and overnight in tents. Day 6 Karkara valley – Khan Tengri base camp – Bishkek city. The day started with wonderful sunshine and clear sky. So we were ready for our helicopter ride to South Inylchek glacier and Khan Tengri base camp. Unexpected our helicopter broke down at the base camp and we were not able to leave. Lunch at South Inylchek glacier, Khan Tengri base camp. After approx 5 hrs. waiting (doing some sightseeing and walk around at the base camp) a second helicopter arrived with all necessary tools for repairment. Meanwhile we took the second helicopter back to Karkara valley and even got a spezial VIP flight back to Bishkek. Wonderful scenic flight across the north shore of the Issyk Kul Lake. Evening arrival on Military airport transfer to downtown and accommodation in a hotel. Dinner and rest. – Well deserved! Day 7 Bishkek city – airport. Flight to Osh city. Full day in Bishkek city, sightseeing and shopping at the market. Evening flight to Osh city. Arrival, transfer to hotel. Rest. Lunch and dinner in cafes.. Day 8 Osh city. Full day city tour in Osh. Visit Osh Bazaar and it’s handicraft rows. After visiting bazaar visit Sulaiman Mount. On the mount first you visit historical museum. Follow the way of all pilgrims up to the top of the hill where you watch a little mosque of Babur. Dinner in a local café. Overnight in a hotel. Day 9 Osh city – Achick Tash base camp. In the morning we start visiting the cattle and horse market. Than we continue our route to Pamir mountain ridge. Lunch en route. Arrival to Achick Tash base camp. Accommodation in tents. Dinner and overnight in BC. Day 10 Achick Tash BC – Osh city. Transfer back to Osh city. Lunch en route. Arrival to Osh. Overnight in a hotel. Rest. Day 11 Osh city – airport. Early morning transfer to the airport. Flight back home via Istanbul. Arrival back in Frankfurt early afternoon.
