President Barack Obama will be Jerry Seinfeld's first guest when the seventh season of his online talk show, "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," opens Dec. 30.
The show features the New York comedian picking up fellow comics in classic cars and taking them out for coffee and conversation.
Obama and Seinfeld spoke at the White House earlier this month. The White House says they took turns circling the South Lawn in a 1963 Corvette Stingray split window coupe before chatting over coffee in a basement dining room. They spoke about what makes White House life both remarkable and routine.
The appearance is another example of Obama trying to appeal to new audiences.

Obama cries for gun control, wipes away tears as he calls for new gun measures. Obama tears up during emotional gun control speech.
President Barack Obama teared up Tuesday during an emotional speech on gun control at the White House.
Obama spoke to lay out the rationale behind his recently announced slate of executive actions on guns in an emotional speech, surrounded by gun control advocates and family members of victims of gun violence.
"Every time I think about those kids, it gets me mad. And by the way, it happens on the streets of Chicago every day," Obama said.
"We do have to feel a sense of urgency about it," Obama said.
He added: "Because people are dying and the constant excuses for inaction no longer suffice. That's why we're here today. Not to debate the last mass shooting, but to do something to try and prevent the next one."
The president laid out the specifics of his plan, explaining the newly clarified rules that narrow the types of individual "private" gun sellers that can sell guns without subjecting their buyers to a background checks, and noting that the FBI would hire 230 new agents to help process background checks.
"Anybody in the business of selling firearms must get a license ... or be subject to criminal prosecutions," Obama said. "It doesn't matter whether you're doing it over the Internet or a gun show."
Obama also slammed critics of his push for gun control measures.
The president said that states that loosening gun control restrictions, specifically Missouri, had according to some studies had seen an increased likelihood of gun violence.
Obama also blasted some Republican presidential candidates who have criticized the president's plan.
"Contrary to claims of some presidential candidates apparently before this meeting, this is not a plot to take away everybody's guns. You pass a background check, you can purchase a firearm."
"The gun lobby may be holding Congress hostage right now, but they cannot hold America hostage," Obama said.

After weeks of speculation surrounding the possibility of President Barack Obama issuing executive actions on the nation's dire need for a stronger focus on gun control, Obama revealed his plans to help reduce the prevalence of gun-related violence across the country. Ahead of the announcement, so-called gun rights activists immediately started to stir up controversy surrounding the possibility of stricter background checks for those wishing to purchase firearms. Obama, however, pushed forward with his initiative before ultimately revealing his plan during a White House press conference on Tuesday.
Mark Barden, the father of Sandy Hook victim Daniel Barden, introduced Obama and Vice President Joe Biden by reminding the nation that Obama previously "made a promise" that he would do "everything in his power" to keep the nation safe from preventable gun violence. "I still remember the first time we met," Obama said to Barden when taking the podium. "That changed me that day and my hope earnestly has been that it would change the country."

A president is a leader of an organization, company, club, trade union, university, or country.
Etymologically, a president is one who presides, who sits in leadership (from Latin pre- "before" + sedere "to sit"; giving the term praeses). Originally, the term referred to the presiding officer of a ceremony or meeting (i.e., chairman), but today it most commonly refers to an official. Among other things, "President" today is a common title for the heads of state of most republics, whether popularly elected, chosen by the legislature or by a special electoral college.
Presidents in countries with a democratic or representative form of government are usually elected for a specified period of time and in some cases may be re-elected by the same process by which they are appointed, i.e. in many nations, periodic popular elections. The powers vested in such presidents vary considerably. Some presidencies, such as that of Ireland, are largely ceremonial, whereas other systems vest the President with substantive powers such as the appointment and dismissal of Prime Ministers or cabinets, the power to declare war, and powers of veto on legislation. In many nations the President is also the Commander-in-Chief of the nation's armed forces, though once again this can range from a ceremonial role to one with considerable authority.

Jerome Allen "Jerry" Seinfeld (born April 29, 1954) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and television and film producer, best known for playing a semi-fictional version of himself in the sitcom Seinfeld (1989–1998), which he co-created and co-wrote with Larry David, and, in the show's final two seasons, co-executive-produced.
In his first major foray back into the media since the finale of Seinfeld, he co-wrote and co-produced the film Bee Movie, also taking on the lead role of Barry B. Benson. In February 2010, Seinfeld premiered a reality TV series called The Marriage Ref on NBC. Seinfeld directed Colin Quinn in the Broadway show Long Story Short at the Helen Hayes Theater in New York which ran until January 8, 2011.
Seinfeld is known for specializing in observational humor, often focusing on personal relationships and uncomfortable social obligations. Comedy Central ranked Jerry Seinfeld as one of the twelve greatest stand-up comedians of all time in its four-part special The 100 Greatest Standups Of All Time.

Barack Hussein Obama II (
i/bəˈrɑːk huːˈseɪn oʊˈbɑːmə/; born August 4, 1961) is the 44th and current President of the United States. He is the first African American to hold the office. In January 2005, Obama was sworn in as a U.S. Senator in the state of Illinois. He would hold this office until November 2008, when he resigned following his victory in the 2008 presidential election.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was the president of the Harvard Law Review. He was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree. He worked as a civil rights attorney in Chicago and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. He served three terms representing the 13th District in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004.
Following an unsuccessful bid against the Democratic incumbent for a seat in the United States House of Representatives in 2000, Obama ran for the United States Senate in 2004. Several events brought him to national attention during the campaign, including his victory in the March 2004 Illinois Democratic primary for the Senate election and his keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. He won election to the U.S. Senate in Illinois in November 2004. His presidential campaign began in February 2007, and after a close campaign in the 2008 Democratic Party presidential primaries against Hillary Rodham Clinton, he won his party's nomination. In the 2008 presidential election, he defeated Republican nominee John McCain, and was inaugurated as president on January 20, 2009. Nine months later, Obama was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate. In April 2011, he announced that he would be running for re-election in 2012.

Finally, Holmes decides to hold a party, inviting the world's most distinguished detectives, hoping to flush Moriarty out of hiding. However, it does not go as planned.

COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE
President Barack Obama will be Jerry Seinfeld's first guest when the seventh season of his online talk show, "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," opens Dec. 30.
The show features the New York comedian picking up fellow comics in classic cars and taking them out for coffee and conversation.
Obama and Seinfeld spoke at the White House earlier this month. The White House says they took turns circling the South Lawn in a 1963 Corvette Stingray split window coupe before chatting over coffee in a basement dining room. They spoke about what makes White House life both remarkable and routine.
The appearance is another example of Obama trying to appeal to new audiences.

President Barack Obama teared up Tuesday during an emotional speech on gun control at the White House.
Obama spoke to lay out the rationale behind his recently announced slate of executive actions on guns in an emotional speech, surrounded by gun control advocates and family members of victims of gun violence.
"Every time I think about those kids, it gets me mad. And by the way, it happens on the streets of Chicago every day," Obama said.
"We do have to feel a sense of urgency about it," Obama said.
He added: "Because people are dying and the constant excuses for inaction no longer suffice. That's why we're here today. Not to debate the last mass shooting, but to do something to try and prevent the next one."
The president laid out the specifics of his plan, explaining the newly clarified rules that narrow the types of individual "private" gun sellers that can sell guns without subjecting their buyers to a background checks, and noting that the FBI would hire 230 new agents to help process background checks.
"Anybody in the business of selling firearms must get a license ... or be subject to criminal prosecutions," Obama said. "It doesn't matter whether you're doing it over the Internet or a gun show."
Obama also slammed critics of his push for gun control measures.
The president said that states that loosening gun control restrictions, specifically Missouri, had according to some studies had seen an increased likelihood of gun violence.
Obama also blasted some Republican presidential candidates who have criticized the president's plan.
"Contrary to claims of some presidential candidates apparently before this meeting, this is not a plot to take away everybody's guns. You pass a background check, you can purchase a firearm."
"The gun lobby may be holding Congress hostage right now, but they cannot hold America hostage," Obama said.

After weeks of speculation surrounding the possibility of President Barack Obama issuing executive actions on the nation's dire need for a stronger focus on gun control, Obama revealed his plans to help reduce the prevalence of gun-related violence across the country. Ahead of the announcement, so-called gun rights activists immediately started to stir up controversy surrounding the possibility of stricter background checks for those wishing to purchase firearms. Obama, however, pushed forward with his initiative before ultimately revealing his plan during a White House press conference on Tuesday.
Mark Barden, the father of Sandy Hook victim Daniel Barden, introduced Obama and Vice President Joe Biden by reminding the nation that Obama previously "made a promise" that he would do "everything in his power" to keep the nation safe from preventable gun violence. "I still remember the first time we met," Obama said to Barden when taking the podium. "That changed me that day and my hope earnestly has been that it would change the country."

It’s a matter of understanding what makes us strong.” Obama talked up America’s tradition of diversity and agreed with Pope Francis that “to imitate the hatred and violence of tyrants and murderers is the best way to take their place.” And with just 12 months go to until he leaves office, it’s not clear whether Obama will be able to get rid of a facility he believes serves as an important recruiting tool to anti-American terror organizations around the world.
Closure is complicated. He can’t send all of the roughly 90 remaining prisoners back to their home countries because he doesn’t trust the security arrangements abroad. And federal law clearly bars him from bringing the terror suspects to the U.S., leaving his team of lawyers to contemplate whether his powers as commander-in-chief allow him to order the transfers anyway.

Obama asks, again, for authorization to fight Islamic State If President Obama’s call for Congress to pass an authorization for the use of force against Islamic State sounds familiar, it’s because he did so in this speech last year as well. “This effort will take time. It will require focus. But we will succeed,” he said. “Tonight, I call on this Congress to show the world that we are united in this mission by passing a resolution to authorize the use of force against ISIL. We need that authority.” Just weeks later the president sent Congress draft language of such an authorization, but found critics on both sides of the aisle. Many Democrats bristled at the ambiguity of language they said did not explicitly prohibit the use of ground troops against Islamic State. Republicans opposed separate language that they saw as overly constraining this or a future president’s hands in being able to go after terrorist forces wherever they were. Though some lawmakers have been outspoken about the need for an updated authorization to use force against Islamic State – the nation is still operating on one passed in the immediate aftermath of Sept. 11 – there was no significant effort to consider Obama’s or any other draft in 2015.
Under different circumstances, Vice President Joe Biden might have benefited from the visibility of tonight’s speech as a candidate looking to succeed President Obama. Instead, Obama called attention to a new crusade that Biden has dedicated himself to: a “moonshot” effort to find a cure for cancer. “He’s gone to the mat for all of us, on so many issues over the past 40 years,” Obama said. “I’m putting Joe in charge of mission control.”
“We're so close to so many breakthroughs in cancer,” he said. “This is one of those inflection points, but they are sort of stove pipes. There's a lot of brilliant people doing a lot of important stuff but not enough integration.” “I'm hoping … [to] be the convener of these folks and move things along more quickly, so instead of the breakthroughs occurring in 10 years or five years, I think we can change the face of cancer [within] the next five years.”
