Aldbury /ˈɔːldbəri/ is a village and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England, near the borders of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire in the Bulbourne valley close to Ashridge Park. The nearest town is Tring; Tring railway station, 1 mile west, is in the parish of Aldbury. Uphill in the narrow vale are the Bridgewater monument and the Ashridge estate.
A troupe of morris men is based here; they perform seasonally on weekends outside the Greyhound pub and on the village green.
Aldbury is a village retaining several archetypal historic features. In the centre is a green and pond; close by stand stocks and whipping-post, in excellent preservation, a primary school and the Church of Saint John the Baptist. In the days of Edward the Confessor the single manor (recorded as Aldeberie in the 1086 Domesday Book) was held by Alwin, the king’s thegn. The Valiant Trooper has served as an alehouse for several centuries, the first traceable evidence dates back to 1752.
Railway modelling (UK, Australia and Ireland) or model railroading (US and Canada) is a hobby in which rail transport systems are modelled at a reduced scale.
The scale models include locomotives, rolling stock, streetcars, tracks, signalling and landscapes including: countryside, roads, buildings, vehicles, model figures, lights, and features such as rivers, hills, and canyons.
The earliest model railways were the 'carpet railways' in the 1840s. Electric trains appeared around the start of the 20th century, but these were crude likenesses. Model trains today are more realistic. Today modelers create model railroad layouts, often recreating real locations and periods throughout history.
Involvement ranges from possession of a train set to spending hours and large sums of money on a large and exacting model of a railroad and the scenery through which it passes, called a "layout". Hobbyists, called "railway modellers" or "model railroaders", may maintain models large enough to ride (see Live steam, Ridable miniature railway and Backyard railroad).

"Martyn was so easy to work with and he put a lot of time and effort into a superb film. The process of making it didn't disrupt the business at all either!" - Tim O'Gorman Director of The Greyhound Inn. http://www.greyhoundaldbury.co.uk

A remake of our original video of Aldbury. This time it was filmed with DCC sound chipped locomotives at our club rooms. We hope you enjoy Aldbury II, the layout can be seen at Perth Model Railway Show, 27 and 28 June 2015 - Scotland's Summer Show. www.perthmrc.com Perth Model Railway Show. As usual it will be at the Dewars Centre Perth, 5 minutes from Perth Station. For full details please see our website. Aldbury is a fictitious terminus station at the end of single track branch line serving a small town set in the West of England. The layout has a Great Western background and locomotives and rolling stock from that company are usually to be seen either in pre-nationalised or British Railways livery as the layout buildings and features are timeless over the two periods in railway h...

The section clearly identified as an ancient trackway extends from Wiltshire along the chalk ridge of the Berkshire Downs to the River Thames at the Goring Gap, part of the Icknield Way which ran, not always on the ridge, from Salisbury Plain to East Anglia.[1] The route was adapted and extended as a National Trail, created in 1972. The Ridgeway National Trail follows the ancient Ridgeway from Overton Hill, near Avebury, to Streatley, then follows footpa...

OLE’
Here’s an idea, that I have been brewing
We all feel like ruins, so what do you say?
I’ve got these four wheels and who would could want for more wheels?
Just throw in a suitcase, we’re off and away
Let’s drive south, way past the border
Raise our passports high there
Mexico we’ll light our load
Our spirits, they will fly there
Don’t say oh ha ha, till you feel the baha
The people are kind there
I know you’ll agree
Frieda Carlo and Katy Herada
Are two of my favourites they always have been
Come with me to Guadalajara, stop off at Chihuahua
Tiny dogs will greet us there
We’ll sit and yap, for hours
I’m just a vulture, for old Mayan culture
Or reefs you can snorkel
(No bullfights for me!)
Late in morning we’ll catch a fiesta in time for siesta, again
Veracruz will ease our blues then
Off up to Toranga
I’m really partial, to shellfish and mangoes and fresh cut Sinatra
I know that you can go, well try the flamingo
Hey senor, don’t be a bore
This sadness you’re bearing is wearing you down
When you unravel, there’s nothing like travel
So pick up the pieces, take it from me
All at once your life is over
Before your very eyes
So, what do you say
I say Ole’
Ole’
Qe Padre
I say Ole’
