Works great and awesome to wake up to. Like said, this is not like an ordinary alarm clock so don't expect to wake up at the precise time you set it, it's not the point of this. The point is, you wake up at your own accord within a time period to far better setting, not to an annoying buzzer and shock.
We wake up early, work starts at 0500 so we're waking up around 0400. For the first few months we were tired, had a hard time waking up, and getting out of bed, this all has changed with this alarm. I set the time for 0400 but usually don't crawl out of bed till around 0410. No snooze button is needed (even though it's there) we just get up when we're ready. Having this time to adjust makes all the difference for the rest of the day.
I highly recommends this alarm to everyone, just be willing to spend some time figuring out how your body will adjust to it, I'm more sensitive to the light than my girlfriend is, she seems to be still asleep till the birds start. Once you spend this time and learn how you wake up to this, you'll never go back to the buzzer alarm.
It was pricey for us, but solo worth it and wouldn't change it for anything.

Wake up slowly because birds are chirping and the room slowly lightens .
The only bad thing I have to say , the clock digits are too bright . I have to turn it away from my bed

I bought this for during the winter months as I live in Northern Alberta. The gentle increasing brightness of the light is so soothing and I love the 2 different bird sounds to chose from. I would recommend this to everyone and anyone that lives in an area where it's dark out when they need to get up.

First two days with it and I already love it! First morning I woke up mid cycle confused and thinking "why am I waking up on my own so early?". This morning I woke up gradually and feeling refreshed (which is hard for someone with a sleeping issues). A word of warning, if you have a cat he will also think it's dawn and wake up to "hunt" with the alarm!

I bought this on the black friday sales about 15% off the normal price. This must be a pretty bottom of the line unit. The light works great - it's as far as I can tell LED so not replaceable. The sounds are not unpleasent but even at the lowest setting I can hear them. There is the option of FM radio but I got sick years ago of waking up to gun fire from the morning news. (I don't live in a war zone and wish that CBC would not play gun fire tracks at 6:30am)

I would suggest if you buy this unit to leave you current alarm in place for the first morning and "play" with the time of the alarm a bit. I find I wake up about 10 minutes before the alarm goes off due to the light. You can set the brightness of the alarm so that it all works out but it easier to do that if you know there is a back up system.

I found the difference waking up to light is that I don't feel so "panicked" when I wake up and (also my cats are less likely to jump on my to shut the darn thing off). The cheap way to try this kind of wake up would be to go camping in a tent. Very similar feel.

I got a great deal on this around $77 with taxes.

Pros: it is light and easily to move around to position to your face.
I enjoy using it as a reading lamp before bed.
I wake up happier and am less grumpy in the mornings.
I like the sounds ( nature or choice of radio)
I like that you can change the brightness of the clock display so it's not so bright when you sleep. I hate waking up and seeing bright red that it's 4 am ect.
It's a very smooth and natural/relaxing way to wake up in the morning
You just tap the top to snooze ( no searching for little small snooze button)

Cons: I don't like the radio cord thing. It is long and annoying and I'm worried my cats will chew it ( I've attached a pic so you can see this cord)
The light is suppose to start to come on half hour before the alarm is set but I find it doesn't start for about 20 minutes prior. This is no big deal I just set my clock a bit earlier. My alarm (sounds) is set for 550 am instead of 6 am now which is fine. I tend to wake up at about 540 to the light which is perfect.
