Metroid Prime Playthrough (GameCube - Progressive Scan Mode) - Part 1

This is part 1 of my 100% playthrough of Metroid Prime for the GameCube. I'm playing the game in progressive scan mode using an actual GameCube (not the Wii). I'm also playing on Hard Mode. Here's a brand new 60 fps playthrough of this GameCube classic. When I uploaded my original playthrough of this game two years ago, I was disappointed that Youtube didn't support 60 fps because I couldn't show the game's native frame rate. Since I rendered my prior videos at 30 fps (due to Youtube's old recommendations) and didn't keep my raw footage, I couldn't simply re-process the videos to get 60 fps. I love playing this game, so I just went ahead and recorded all new footage. This is actually the game that got me into the Metroid series. Although I had played both Metroid and Metroid II as a kid, I didn't really care for the series at that time. I suppose it was too complex for me since you needed your own map just make it through Metroid and Metroid II. When Nintendo announced Metroid Prime alongside the GameCube, I decided to give the series another shot, and I was not disappointed. I received Metroid Prime for Christmas of 2002 and I have to say that was quite a memorable Christmas. The game blew me away and left as much of an impact on me as A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time did. I have probably beaten this game half a dozen times now and yet I never get tired of it. It is without a doubt my favorite Metroid game. Once again I'll be playing through my launch copy that I received in 2002. For this playthrough I'll be getting 100% of the items and scans, so expect lots and lots of scanning (I apologize if it makes the videos boring). I have the official Nintendo Power Player's Guide for this game, so that helps me quite a bit. Just like my other Metroid playthroughs, I'll be keeping track of all items I pick up in each video, as well as the scans needed to get 100%. You can treat this playthrough as a walkthrough or guide if you like. In this first part I completed the Space Pirate Frigate and defeated the Parasite Queen.
