Day one of 5 for the Gib Rock Tuna Team, casting at big bluefin tuna at the Northen coast of Spain, The Bay of Biscay, Basque Country.
We had 4 of 6 on top water and 0 of 2 on the jig.I landed 4 fish myself, all over 100kg on a solo fight. Jeez what a birthday gift that was! I had a beautiful take on sunset which chaffed my 150lb leader off early in the fight and there was also a missed take Alain and myself on top water. Hooking these giants was a real workout. They had so much bait and were so engrossed on the small anchovies that they fed very lazy. In slow motion grazing the masses of anchovies and not showing any interest in our lures at all, but with a lot of persistence and experienced hands of Orkatz on the helm I think we did a great job as a team. Slow, gente sweeps with long pauses with the Amegari Leen stickbait was the winner for the day.

Spain (Listeni/ˈspeɪn/; Spanish: España [esˈpaɲa] ( listen)), officially the Kingdom of Spain (Spanish: Reino de España),[a][b] is a sovereign state located on the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. Its mainland is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with Gibraltar; to the north and northeast by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the west and northwest by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean. Along with France and Morocco, it is one of only three countries to have both Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines. Spain's 1,214 km (754 mi) border with Portugal is the longest uninterrupted border within the European Union.
Spanish territory also includes two archipelagos; the Balearic Islands, in the Mediterranean Sea, and the Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean off the African coast; two major exclaves, Ceuta and Melilla, in continental North Africa; and the islands and peñones (rocks) of Alborán, Alhucemas, Chafarinas and Vélez de la Gomera. With an area of 505,992 km2 (195,365 sq mi), Spain is the second largest country in Western Europe and the European Union, and the fourth largest country in Europe. By population, Spain is the sixth largest in Europe and the fifth in the European Union.
Modern humans first arrived in the Iberian Peninsula around 35,000 years ago. It came under Roman rule around 200 BCE, after which the region was named Hispania. In the Middle Ages, the area was conquered by Germanic tribes and later by the Moors. Spain emerged as a unified country in the 15th century, following the marriage of the Catholic Monarchs and the completion of the centuries-long reconquest, or Reconquista, of the peninsula from the Moors in 1492. In the early modern period, Spain became one of history's first global colonial empires, leaving a vast cultural and linguistic legacy that includes over 500 million Spanish speakers, making Spanish the world's second most spoken first language.
Thank You!
God Bless

God Bless

Spain , officially the Kingdom of Spain, is a sovereign state and a member state of the European Union. It is located on the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. Its mainland is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with Gibraltar; to the north and north east by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the west and northwest by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of three countries—France and Morocco are the other two—to have both Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines. Spain's 1,214 km (754 mi) border with Portugal is the longest uninterrupted border within the European Union.

The city is in the north of the Basque Country, on the southern coast of the Bay of Biscay. San Sebastián's picturesque shoreline makes it a popular beach resort. The seaside environment is enhanced by hilly surroundings that are easily accessible, i.e., Urgull (at the heart of the city by the seashore), romantic Mount Ulia extending east to Pasaia, Mount Adarra rising proud far on the south and Igeldo, overlooking the bay from the west.
The city sits at the mouth of the River Urumea, Donostia having been built to a large extent over the river's wetlands during the last two centuries. In fact, the city centre and the districts of Amara Berri and Riberas de Loiola lie on such terrain and the former bed of the river, diverted to its current canalized course in the first half of the 20th century.[9]
San Sebastián (Spanish: [san seβasˈtjan]; French: Saint-Sébastien) or Donostia (Basque: [doˈnos̺tia])[3] is a coastal city and municipality located in the Basque Autonomous Community, Spain. It lies on the coast of the Bay of Biscay, 20 km (12 miles) from the French border. Capital city of Gipuzkoa, the municipality's population is 186,409 (2012), with its metropolitan area reaching 436,500 (2010).[4] Locals call themselves donostiarra (singular), both in Spanish[5] and Basque.
The main economic activities are commerce and tourism, and it is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Spain.[6] Despite the city’s small size, events such as the San Sebastián International Film Festival have given it an international dimension. San Sebastián, along with Wrocław, Poland, will be the European Capital of Culture in 2016.[7]

The Pyrenees is a range of mountains in southwest Europe that forms a natural border between France and Spain. It separates the Iberian Peninsula from the rest of continental Europe, and extends for about 491 km (305 mi) from the Bay of Biscay (Cap Higuer) to the Mediterranean Sea (Cap de Creus).
For the most part, the main crest forms a massive divider between France and Spain, with the small country of Andorra sandwiched in between. The Crown of Aragon and the Kingdom of Navarre have historically extended on both sides of the mountain range, with smaller northern portions now in France and larger southern parts now in Spain.

ORCA is one of Europe’s leading whale and dolphin conservation charities and between March and September every year, some of their wildlife officers join us on board our ferries to Spain to monitor the whale and dolphin populations in the Bay of Biscay. But they’re not on board to just gather data, they’re also here to share their amazing knowledge of these magnificent creatures with our travellers by whale and dolphin spotting out on deck and giving talks too.
The Bay of Biscay is one of the top 5 places on Earth for spotting whales and dolphins – we’ve even spotted blue whales and fin whales, the largest and second largest animals in the world! Bottlenose dolphins, porpoises, killer whales and more are regularly spotted from the decks of our ferries to Spain so why not join us on one of our whale and dolphin spotting mini cruises and help ORCA track the marine wildlife and protect the planet for the future?
