Hong Kong, a former British territory, is one of the most densely populated places in China and in the world. You’ll find quiet neighborhoods full of temples and a dazzling skyline loaded with shopping and dining opportunities.
Your Hong Kong tour must include visits to the many religious sites scattered around the city, where incense wafts from shrines and monasteries take over entire hillsides. You’ll have a marvelous time shopping in tax-free Hong Kong, where you’ll be able to find clothing, jewelry, furniture, and everything else under the sun.
Don’t forget about Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, which overlooks the stunning Victoria Harbor. From there, your Hong Kong sightseeing may detour to Central, the city’s main business district, which looks like something out of a sci-fi film. The observation deck atop the International Commerce Centre will show you fantastic views of the city.
Hong Kong isn’t all cityscape, of course; there are many gardens, parks, and other green spaces for you to explore. You’ll also find beaches, national parks, and quiet islands for you to indulge in natural beauty and serenity. This city truly has everything.

Macau, considered by many to be the Las Vegas of the Far East, is only a short ferry ride away from Hong Kong, China. When we decided to visit we thought we'd spend most of our time checking out casino; however, what we discovered was a city with a unique colonial history (Portuguese) and some of the best street food in all of Asia. In terms of attractions, most people who come to visit Macau may only come for the gambling. That's a shame. Attractions such as Senado Square and the ruins of Saint Paul Cathedral await those who explore its old city quarters. With architecture that seems as though it belongs more in Portugal or Brazil you'll find this city is east meets west in many regards. For those with adventurous taste buds regional culinary delights such as Macau egg tarts, pork chop buns and almond cookie are on plentiful display. We simply couldn't stop eating Macanese street delights during our brief stay in Macao. The following is a top attractions travel guide offering a snapshot of the best things to do in Macau in terms of cuisine and travel:

This is MACAU, not AOMEN (TDM english news 2014/02/13)

Travel video about destination Macau in China.
After 466 years, Portugal handed back the city of Macau to China. It is small and museum-like, a fine example of colonial Portugal on the South China Sea.
The Fortaleza Do Monte is a typical Portuguese fortified complex strategically located on a hill above the old cathedral in the heart of the city. Its many old canons and mighty fortress walls are reminders of those times when invasion was a constant threat.
The old centre of the city is the triangular Largo Do Senado, Senate Square. Its wonderful colonial buildings with their light-colored facades were built at the end of the 19th century and completely renovated in the final decade of the 20th.
Macau's largest Buddhist temple, Templo de Kun Iam Tong, dates back 400 years to the Ming Dynasty when its original foundations were built. Beyond its main gate, just off a busy street in the north of the city, is a peaceful oasis of silence and contemplation, a mystic place in which stone lions, golden Buddhas and all who visit are surrounded by serene, aromatic wisps of smoke.
The beautiful Jardim de Lou Lim Ioc Park is situated in the northern less touristy business district of the city. It was designed in the 19th century by a wealthy Chinese trader, Lou Kau. This marvelous oasis is an idyllic setting with a lotus pond, rocks, grottos and waterfalls.
Excursions are available on restored motorized junks that leave from the City's harbor several times a day.
Taipa is the larger of the two islands that belong to Macau. The tangled and narrow alleys in the centre of Vila da Taipa abound with rural character and Portuguese street signs are painted on azulejos. The island's shops and light-colored houses would be equally at home in Portugal.
Although the Macau of today has much contemporary flair, it continues to enjoy a rich colonial inheritance that is well worth seeing.

https://www.expedia.com/Seoul.d178308.Destination-Travel-Guides
Watch our video highlighting some of the best things to do in Seoul, but beware—it just might cause you to start planning your next Korean vacation!
Join us in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. This intriguing destination boasts an innovative, forward-thinking culture, but it’s also steeped in history. While traveling around this northwestern city, you’ll come across massive shopping complexes just on the outskirts of ancient temples and palaces.
Take a trip back in time at the Changdeokgung Palace, which was built in 1405 as one of the Five Grand Palaces established by the Joseon Dynasty. Though all the city’s palaces were burned down during the 1592 Japanese invasion, Changdeokgung was the first to be reconstructed. Venture around Injeongjeon, the throne hall, and step across the Geumcheongyo Bridge, which is considered one of the city’s oldest bridges. Deoksugung is another one of the Five Grand Palaces, and it’s unique in that it incorporates a Western-style garden. Don’t miss the other royal grounds, including Changgyeonggung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Unhyeongung Palace.
If you’re really looking to get a sense of the more modern, Seoul tourism scene, prepare to shop ’til you drop! This city takes shopping seriously, as you can find stores and markets scattered all around town. COEX Mall is Korea’s largest underground shopping mall, while Namdaemun Market features hundreds of vendors selling almost anything you can imagine, from kimchi to kitchenware. In the mood for some late-night shopping? Discover some of the best finds in fashion at Dongdaemun Market, which is open all through the night, closing around 7 a.m.
Continue your Seoul city tour by making your way to the theaters to witness some marvelous performances. These theaters know how to put on a show–Korean martial artists, dazzling dancers, and talented musicians take the stage at the Korea House, Jeongdong Theater, and Seoul Arts Center. Next, visit the Gyeongbokgung Palace to catch the opening and closing of the royal palace gates and the royal guard changing, or check out the Bosingak daily bell-ringing ceremony.
Whether you decide to join guided Seoul tours or prefer to venture around the Korean destination on your own terms, you won’t be disappointed. From royal grounds to theater productions, the entertainment is endless. Press play on our travel guide video to get inspiration for your next trip to South Korea.

Come to Dubai, the ancient City of Gold, for your next vacation.
Modernity and antiquity collide in this vibrant city. Shop at the same spice market locals have been visiting for generations, then visit the stores in the Gold Souk, a jewelry-centered traditional marketplace. For a more modern shopping experience, go to the Dubai Mall, home to over 1200 stores, an underwater zoo, and KidZania®, a “city” where children can roleplay various careers.
To soak up some of the legendary Dubai sunshine, simply step outside. Take in the view of the city from the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Continue your Dubai tour by wandering through the exotic buildings and resorts, or visit some of the public beaches. If you’d like to try something a little different and don’t mind paying a small fee, you can also attend local hotel beaches even if you aren’t staying there.
You can’t finish your Dubai sightseeing without a trip into the desert itself. Ride a camel, go sandboarding, or just stand out on the dunes and marvel at the beauty of it all.

The Macau A-Ma temple was built in the 15th century, also called Barra Temple, is situated halfway up the western slope of Barra Hill.
This chinese temple consists of the Gate Pavilion, the Memorial Arch, the Prayer Hall, the Hall of Benevolence, the Hall of Guanyin, and Zhengjiao Chanlin (a Buddhist pavilion), each forming a small part of the well-ordered complex which sits in perfect harmony with the natural environment.

The steps leading up the hill, as well as the ramp up to the Fort, and the fort itself, are all composed of cut granite.
At the top of the Fort you find a nice open space still partially secluded by tall trees. In the mornings many of the locals will come up to do various exercises like Tai Chi and calisthenics.
Amongst the trees around the hill twist and turn a single, and at some places two levels, of paved paths. Though the park is small, and not hardly a rain forest, a few locations can help your imagination believe you are far from an urban metropolis.
Today I was able to stop and listen to various birds as they sang to each other from their perches in the trees.

Some History & Facts
As Portuguese Macau, it was administered by the Portuguese Empire and its inheritor states from the mid-16th century until late 1999, when it was the last remaining European colony in Asia under Portugal. Sovereignty over Macau was transferred to China on 20 December 1999. The Joint Declaration on the Question of Macau and Macau Basic Law stipulate that Macau operate with a high degree of autonomy until at least 2049, fifty years after the transfer.
Starting in 1962, the gambling industry had been operated under a government-issued monopoly license. The monopoly ended in 2002 and several casino owners from Las Vegas attempted to enter the market. With the opening of the Sands Macao, in 2004 and Wynn Macau in 2006, gambling revenues from Macau's casinos were greatly prosperous. In 2007, Venetian Macau, at the time the second (now seventh) largest building in the world by floor space, opened its doors to the public, followed by MGM Grand Macau. Numerous other hotel casinos, including Galaxy Cotai Megaresort, opened in 2011, and plans for a $3.9 billion complex that will be known as Lisboa Palace is expected to be completed by 2017.
In February 2015, the gambling revenue in Macau fell by 48.6 percent from a year earlier to $2.4 billion, the biggest monthly decline that has ever been recorded. Reasons for this fall of revenue are related to the slowdown that the Chinese economy is having officials pursue a corruption crackdown that's confined in lavish spending.
---------------------------------
We next made out way to the old town to see the Ruins of St. Paul's , a 17th-century Portuguese church dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle. Today, the ruins are one of Macau's best known landmarks. In 2005, they were officially listed as part of the Historic Centre of Macau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

MACAU CASINOS & their strong links to organised crime - ABC 4 Corners - Sep 2014
Just why does the Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate seem so attracted and fixated on the idea of turning our broadwater and the Gold Coast into another Macau style foreign-owned casino city? He wants five casinos and has travelled to meet with casino big wigs in Macau and Las Vegas, hoping to do deals to attract operators here. There might be money in casinos, but for who? And at what risk?

MACAU CASINOS & their strong links to organised crime - ABC 4 Corners - Sep 2014

Just why does the Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate seem so attracted and fixated on the idea of turning our broadwater and the Gold Coast into another Macau style foreign-owned casino city? He wants five casinos and has travelled to meet with casino big wigs in Macau and Las Vegas, hoping to do deals to attract operators here. There might be money in casinos, but for who? And at what risk?
ABC Four Corners lifts the lid on the dark truth behind the direct links between organised crime and the casino industry in Macau, and the strong presence of mafia control and high-level criminal activity that has been evidently born of the gambling town's lust for the lights and bells of casino establishments. The ABC report sends an ominous warning to Australians about the risks associated with foreign casino operators and the concept of more casinos in Australia.
We assume Tom Tate has also investigated this side of the industry and given it appropriate consideration - we hope so.
FROM ABC: Australian casinos that target Asian VIP gamblers to boost their profits could run a serious risk of exposure to organised crime, according to a range of law enforcement and security experts.
This week on Four Corners, reporter Linton Besser investigates the drive to entice foreign gamblers to Australia and the implications of that strategy.
Running casinos can be a lucrative business. It's estimated that the industry here generates around five billion dollars a year. Much of that money comes from ordinary Australians, but increasingly companies that run casinos are seeking to boost their profits by attracting high rollers, particularly from China. VIP players are willing to bet hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single wager.
These big gamblers are often brought to the casino by companies called junkets. In Asia's gambling epicentre of Macau, off the coast of China, they locate, transport and provide credit for the gamblers, and they have made local casino operators enormously wealthy. However, until recently Australia has only had a slender share of the VIP market.
Now Crown, led by James Packer, has won approval to develop a six star hotel and casino complex at Barangaroo on the shores of Sydney Harbour. And this casino will cater solely to VIP players.
Who are these high-rollers? Where do they get their money? And who is profiting from the junkets that bring them here?
In Macau, the junket operators are major companies, with some listed on the stock exchange. Despite this, there is evidence that some have links to organised crime.
In part, those links to criminals have been boosted by the fact that gambling is illegal in mainland China, and there is a limit to the amount of money high rollers can take out of the country. The fact that Chinese VIPs gamble on credit - which cannot be legally enforced in the mainland - can invite debt collection via extra-judicial means.
As one gambling expert told the program:
"They turn to organised crime to enforce gambling debts, using violence or threats of violence."
The question is, how do Australian casino operators like Crown get the benefits of the junket industry but keep out the criminals? Those who know the gambling industry say it's very difficult:
"That's easier, much easier said than done, because if the casino is totally focused on upper end VIP only, then that appeals to a small, a certain element, and that is difficult." - Gambling expert
This leaves any casino operator relying on VIPs with a problem. It leaves governments with a problem too. Organised crime has found a home in Macau. Will it look for more opportunities here?

The Macau we know today has built up world class tourism industry with a wide choice of hotels, resorts, shopping malls, restaurants and casinos. Macau is a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, and, like Hong Kong, benefits from the principle of "one country, two systems".
Here's your essential Macau Travel Guide this June 2015 – Dino and Julio of Soler tour us around the best places to eat, drink, shop, and play in Macau.
Explore Macau anyway you want! Be it on a bus, on a train, or on foot - the choice is yours! Macau is rich in attractions that should not be missed. But for a memorable sightseeing, board a rickshaw and be on your way to a day of exploration.
While in Macau, make sure you also check out these places and attractions:
* Fisherman's Wharf: https://youtu.be/Fa-_JVsXWTU
Set on the waterfront, next to the Hong Kong-Macau ferry, Macau's first theme park is split into a number of themed areas, recreating architecture from Old England, Rome, 18th century Portugal and others.
* The House of Dancing Water: https://youtu.be/cx4FgV2gEwg
A never-been-seen-before production that combines theater, dance, gymnastic artistry and high-performance diving, all of which push the physical boundaries of human performance and which leave audiences amazed and astounded.
* Guincho a Galera: https://youtu.be/SqMV9Tsb4-w
Guincho a Galera is the first international branch of Michelin-starred restaurant, Fortaleza do Guincho in Portugal. This restaurant offers authentic Portuguese cuisine where delicacies are prepared in the most skillful and innovative style.
* Choi Heong Yuen Bakery: https://youtu.be/8AiToU9BFDg
Choi Heong Yuen Bakery is one of Macau's best-known bakery chains, specializing in traditional pastries, particularly the almond cookie.
If you're in town this month, don't miss the following events:
* Chick Corea & Herbie Hancock — 5 June
* Cesar Milan LIVE – Love your Dogs Tour 2015 — 6 June
* Macau International Dragon Boat Races - 13, 14, and 20 June
