Bibcode
The bibcode is a compact identifier used by a number of astronomical data systems to uniquely specify literature references. The Bibliographic Reference Code was originally developed to be used in SIMBAD and the NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database, but it became a de facto standard and is now used more widely, for example, by the NASA Astrophysics Data System who coined and prefer the term "bibcode".

Visible/infrared Cross-Fade of the Newly Discovered Globular Star Cluster VVV CL001
This video sequence shows a comparison of the view of the newly discovered globular cluster VVV CL001 in visible and infrared light. The infrared view, from the VISTA telescope, shows the new cluster very clearly for the first time and allows many of the component stars to be studied. The better-known and brighter globular cluster UKS 1 appears on the right.

This sequence starts with a wide-field view of the spectacular central parts of the southern Milky Way. As we zoom in we can see many famous objects, including the Lagoon Nebula. In the final sequence we dive deep into the dusty regions and reveal two almost hidden globular clusters, UKS 1 and the newly discovered VVV CL001 in a new image from the VISTA telescope at ESO’s Paranal Observatory in Ch

The Unusual History of the Asteroid Lutetia
This animation is an artist’s impression of a possible scenario to explain how the unusual asteroid Lutetia came to now be located in the main asteroid belt, between Mars and Jupiter. The recently formed asteroid is seen passing close to one of the very young rocky planets about four billion years ago and having its orbit drastically altered. The rare spectral properties show that Lutetia started

This video sequence shows a comparison of the view of the newly discovered globular cluster VVV CL001 in visible and infrared light. The infrared view, from the VISTA telescope, shows the new cluster very clearly for the first time and allows many of the component stars to be studied. The better-known and brighter globular cluster UKS 1 appears on the right.

and sees right through the heart of the Milky Way:
http://www.eso.org/public/news/eso1141/
Two newly discovered globular clusters have been added to the total of just 158 known globular clusters in our Milky Way. They were found in new images from ESO’s VISTA survey telescope as part of the Via Lactea (VVV) survey. This survey has also turned up the first star cluster that is far beyond the centre of the Milky Way and whose light has had to travel right through the dust and gas in the heart of our galaxy to get to us.

For decades these a small group of people in the academia has been parroting
that there is no such thing as Planet X, and that the planet Nibiru is just a hoax.
BUT IS IT?
Could this small group of mainstream scientists
be misleading us on purpose?

This sequence starts with a wide-field view of the spectacular central parts of the southern Milky Way. As we zoom in we can see many famous objects, including the Lagoon Nebula. In the final sequence we dive deep into the dusty regions and reveal two almost hidden globular clusters, UKS 1 and the newly discovered VVV CL001 in a new image from the VISTA telescope at ESO’s Paranal Observatory in Chile.

The rare spectral properties show that Lutetia started life as a fragment of the material that was forming the inner planets but it is now found to be an unusual interloper much further from the Sun.

Lutetia: a Rare Survivor from the Birth of the Earth
New observations indicate that the asteroid Lutetia is a leftover fragment of the same original material that formed the Earth, Venus and Mercury. Astronomers have combined data from ESA’s Rosetta spacecraft, ESO’s New Technology Telescope, and NASA telescopes. They found that the properties of the asteroid closely match those of a rare kind of meteorites found on Earth and thought to have formed in the inner parts of the Solar System. Lutetia must, at some point, have moved out to its current location in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

This artist's impression video sequence shows schematically the mysterious alignments between the spin axes of quasars and the large-scale structures that they inhabit that observations with ESO’s Very Large Telescope have revealed. These alignments are over billions of light-years and are the largest known in the Universe. The large-scale structure is shown in blue and quasars are marked in white with the rotation axes of their black holes indicated with a line.
This video is for illustration only and does not depict the distribution of real galaxies and quasars.

VLT reveals alignments between supermassive black hole axes and large-scale structure
New observations with ESO’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile have revealed alignments over the largest structures ever discovered in the Universe. A European research team has found that the rotation axes of the central supermassive black holes in a sample of quasars are parallel to each other over distances of billions of light-years. The team has also found that the rotation axes of these quasars tend to be aligned with the vast structures in the cosmic web in which they reside.

Artist’s impression of the Exoplanet 51 Pegasi b. This artist’s view shows the hot Jupiter exoplanet 51 Pegasi b, sometimes referred to as Bellerophon, which orbits a star about 50 light-years from Earth in the northern constellation of Pegasus (The Winged Horse). This was the first exoplanet around a normal star to be found in 1995. Twenty years later this object was also the first exoplanet to be be directly detected spectroscopically in visible light.

First Detection of Reflected Visible Light from 51 Pegasi b
New technique paints promising picture for future
Astronomers using the HARPS planet-hunting machine at ESO’s La Silla Observatory in Chile have made the first-ever spectroscopic detection of visible light reflected off an exoplanet. These observations also revealed new properties of this famous object, the first exoplanet ever discovered around a normal star: 51 Pegasi b. The result promises an exciting future for this technique, particularly with the advent of next generation instruments, such as ESPRESSO, on the VLT, and future telescopes, such as the E-ELT.

Release date: 30 April 2005. An international team of astronomers reports today confirmation of the discovery of a giant planet, approximately five times the mass of Jupiter, that is gravitationally bound to a young brown dwarf. This puts an end to a year long discussion on the nature of this object, which started with the detection of a red object close to the brown dwarf. In February and March of this year [2005], the astronomers took new images of the young brown dwarf and its giant planet companion with the state-of-the-art NACO instrument on ESO's Very Large Telescope in northern Chile. The planet is near the southern constellation of Hydra and approximately 200 light years from Earth.
ESO Press Video eso0515 is a small montage providing excerpts of an interview with Dr. Gael Chauvin (ESO), leader of the team of astronomers who took the image of the 2M1207 system, as well as a computer animation of what the system might look like.
