A lightweight matchup between Derek Anderson and Ryan Couture puts a bow on the upcoming Bellator 148 card set for Jan. 29 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif.

Anderson (13-2) is 4-2 inside the Bellator cage and last fought in December when he took home a split decision victory over Patricky Freire. Prior to that he dropped a split decision of his own to Brent Primus in August. The 25-year-old San Diego native has finished 5 of his 13 wins by knockout and 6 by submission. Prior to making his Bellator debut in Sept. 2013, Anderson had been cutting his teeth in the Xplode Fight Series promotion.

Couture (10-3) of course is best known for being the son of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, but the 33-year-old has put together an impressive career himself and is unbeaten thus far in the Bellator cage. Couture has won his last four fights, submitting all four, most recently defeating Dakota Cochrane via rear-naked choke last March.

Following a 6-1 run in Strikeforce, Ryan fought for the UFC twice in 2013. He lost both those bouts and has now found a home in Bellator fighting for former Strikeforce President Scott Coker once again. Coker knows how to build fighters and with a last name of Couture, it would be foolish not to.
