Bellator has matched lightweights Derek Anderson and Ryan Couture for a bout at Bellator 148. Multiple media outlets have reported the contest, which takes place Jan. 29 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif.

Anderson joined Bellator in 2013 as an undefeated 9-0 prospect. In his debut, he picked up an upset victory over promotion regular Patricky Freire. Anderson then entered the season 10 lightweight tournament. In the first round, he defeated Brandon Girtz, but he was eliminated by Marcin Held in the semifinals. In his last outing, Anderson picked up another victory over Freire at Bellator 147.

Couture, the son of UFC hall of famer Randy Couture, is currently riding a four-fight winning streak. He began his career under the Strikeforce banner. He went 5-1 in the promotion and picked up signature victories over veteran Conor Heun and former Elite XC champion K.J. Noons. In 2013, he joined the UFC after Zuffa purchased Strikeforce and merged the brands. In the Octagon, he dropped both of his bouts to Ross Pearson and Al Iaquinta. After leaving the UFC, Couture picked up a pair of wins for Battlegrounds MMA and then signed with Bellator. In Bellator, he has picked up back-to-back victories over Tom Bagnasco and Dakota Cochrane.

In the main event of Bellator 148, British slugger Paul Daley returns to action against Andy Uhrich. In the co-main event, Chris Honeycutt and Paul Bradley face off for a second time after their first bout ended in a “no contest” due to an accidental headbutt.
