Ashley: We have worked with Wade on 3 different transactions in the last year and a half and he is our forever realtor.
Wade: I’m Wade Giles. I am a realtor in Austin Texas, and I absolutely love what I do.
Rush: I think a lot of realtors treat as a numbers game to where they take people out and they show so many houses then they will get so many sales and so many commissions, whereas wade understands what you want and takes the time to really understand what you need and provides you options to fit those criteria. As opposed to trying put you to a house, he tries to find a house that matches you.
Ashley: He is always working. He has a lot of fun though too, and I think he really enjoys what he’s doing so it doesn’t make it at all a burden, it’s a joy.
Wade: I work tirelessly for people. I stay up at night thinking about how I am going to help my clients get their house sold. Or how am I going to find them the perfect place. Where is that going to be? You know, it’s personal to me, it’s just not another transaction.
Frank: He has this combination of passion for the business because he likes his clients and he likes the thrill of what we’re trying to do as a client. He is also incredibly competent. And so when you’re looking at making a transaction and all the documents you have to follow and the process to make sure that everything is done professionally and correctly and on time… Wade’s your guy.
Rachel: Wade was really helpful in that he could talk with us and narrow down things that we really did want, and not only that open our eyes to things, hey, you might want this in the future.
Frank: I think a perk working with Wade is that you know, that you get excited looking for that next property
Ashley: He definitely has access to inventory that the vast majority of others do not have access to on the Austin real estate market.
Wade: It’s about relationship building. It’s about thinking outside the box. It’s about truly knowing what your client wants when they may not be able to put it into words.
Rachel: It’s been one year and our house has already appreciated in value. If we ever decide to sell our house, we love it. But if we ever do, 100%, we would use Wade.
Wade: Reach out to me. I’d love to meet you. I’d love to grab a coffee with you and find out what it is you are looking for and if you have questions about the Austin real estate market. If you need a restaurant recommendation I’m happy to give those as well. I love being a resource for people. I’m here to help, any way I can.
Not just about selling houses.

Wade Giles understands that no two home transactions are identical. Each client relationship has its own unique set of business and life circumstances that require special care and attention. Buying or selling a luxury property in today’s market, whether it’s a posh high-rise condo, fashionable urban estate, or a sprawling section of hill country ranchland, is substantially more than just someone’s dream home. Fundamentally, it’s an integral part of an investment portfolio and needs to be regarded as such. Without a keen attention to detail it can be very easy for a buyer or seller to become swept up by emotions that may cloud a good decision. This is where Wade’s experience, integrity, and passion for helping others comes to light and really shines.
Wade makes it a point to keep his finger on the vibrant pulse of the community and surrounding areas – not only in the ever-changing real estate market, but in every facet of “what’s hot in Austin.” As a result, Wade is the perfect agent for newcomers who are relocating from out of town. Not only is he able to perfectly match discerning buyers with ideal properties, he can also help educate them to their new surroundings and steer them, with an astute sense of taste and an insider’s experience, towards the finer restaurants, art, theater and music venues, schools, golf courses, and shopping areas.
Wade’s positive energy is virtually endless and it spills over into his private life. Having spent countless hours on farms and ranches, he took to horseback riding at a young age and has since gone on to become a nationally-ranked equestrian. Keeping fit is high on Wade’s list of priorities and he enjoys all types of outdoor activities, including hiking the Greenbelt, water skiing on Lake Austin, and jogging the trail with his rescue dog “Sport.”

I've been made to feel this way again
She's got me crawling in my skin
Just looking for a way out
She leaves me for seven days
Misleading me in several different ways
And I just want to make up with her
Old enough to give and young enough to fade
In time we will live our lives this way
How do we divide the stories from the lines?
We'll just have to try,
Try, Try
My lady let me down my lady let me go, I said my lady dropped me off in Mexico
The stories still alright, the stories still in line
We can drive back home, baby, in one night
Said, old enough to give, and young enough to fake
In time we will live out lives this way

The Xia Empire (Chinese: 夏朝; pinyin: Xià Cháo; Wade–Giles: Hsia-Ch'ao; IPA: [ɕiâ tʂʰɑ̌ʊ̯]; c. 2200 – c. 1600 BC) is the first dynasty in China to be described in ancient historical records such as Bamboo Chronicles. Classic of History and Records of the Grand Historian. The dynasty was established by the legendary Yu the Great[1] after Shun, the last of the Five Emperors, gave his throne to him. The Xia was later succeeded by the Shang dynasty (1600–1046 BC).
According to the traditional chronology based upon calculations by Liu Xin, the Xia ruled between 2205 and 1766 BC; according to the chronology based upon the Bamboo Annals, it ruled between 1989 and 1558 BC. The Xia–Shang–Zhou Chronology Project concluded that the Xia existed between 2070 and 1600 BC. The tradition of tracing Chinese political history from heroic early emperors to the Xia to succeeding dynasties comes from the idea of the Mandate of Heaven, in which only one legitimate dynasty can exist at any given time, and was promoted by the Confucian school in the Eastern Zhou period, later becoming the basic position of imperial historiography and ideology. Although the Xia is an important element in early Chinese history, reliable information on the history of China before 13th century BC can only come from archaeological evidence since China's first established written system on a durable medium, the oracle bone script, did not exist until then.
Thus, the concrete existence of the Xia is yet to be proven, despite efforts by Chinese archaeologists to link the Xia with Bronze Age Erlitou archaeological sites.

Bak Mei (Chinese: 白眉; pinyin: Bái Méi; Wade–Giles: Pai Mei; Cantonese Yale: Baahk Mèih; literally: "White Eyebrows"; "Bak Mei" comes from the Cantonese pronunciation) is said to have been one of the legendary Five Elders — survivors of the destruction of the Shaolin Monastery by the Qing dynasty (1644–1912) — who, according to some accounts, betrayed Shaolin to the imperial government. He shares his name with the South Chinese martial art attributed to him. Some Shaolin masters today teach that Bak Mei was the inventor of Eagle Claw style Kung Fu, which is often commented as being the most vicious form. He is also credited with the invention of the Iron Shirt defensive form.

A Chinese Ghost Story (Wade–Giles: Ch'ien-nü Yu-hun; literally: "The Ethereal Spirit of a Beauty") is a 1987 Hong Kong romantic comedy horror film starring Leslie Cheung, Joey Wong and Wu Ma, directed by Ching Siu-tung and produced by Tsui Hark. The plot was loosely based on a short story from Qing dynasty writer Pu Songling's Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio (聊齋誌異), and also inspired by the 1960 Shaw Brothers Studio film ,The Enchanting Shadow. The film was popular in Hong Kong and several Asian countries, including South Korea and Japan, when released. Most notably it boosted the stardom of Joey Wong, won Leslie Cheung popularity in Japan, and sparked a trend of folklore ghost films in the Hong Kong film industry, including two sequels, an animated film, a television series and a 2011 remake. The film was ranked number 50 of the Best 100 Chinese Motion Pictures presented at the 24th Hong Kong Film Awards.

The Zhou Empire (c. 1046 – 256 BC; Chinese: 周朝; pinyin: Zhōu Cháo; Wade–Giles: Chou1 Ch'ao2 [tʂóʊ tʂʰɑ̌ʊ]) was a Chinese dynasty that followed the Shang dynasty and preceded the Qin dynasty. The Zhou dynasty lasted longer than any other dynasty in Chinese history and produced what many consider the zenith of Chinese bronze-ware making. The empire also spans the period where written script (the written word) evolved into its modern form with the use of an archaic clerical script that emerged during the late Warring States period.

Chung Kuo is the title of a piece by Vangelis (first track on a 1979 album, China).
Chung-Kuo is the Wade-Giles romanization of the Chinese word for China
Wade-Giles (pronounced /ˌweɪd ˈdʒaɪlz/; simplified Chinese: 威妥玛拼音 or 韦氏拼音; traditional Chinese: 威妥瑪拼音 or 韋氏拼音; pinyin: wēituǒmǎ pīnyīn), sometimes abbreviated Wade, is a Romanization system for the Mandarin language used in Beijing. It developed from a system produced by Thomas Wade during the mid-19th century, and was given completed form with Herbert Giles' Chinese-English dictionary of 1892.
Wade-Giles was the main system of transcription in the English-speaking world for most of the 20th century, used in several standard reference books and in all books about China published before 1979.[1] It replaced the Nanjing-based romanization systems that had been common until late in the 19th century. It has mostly been replaced by the pinyin system (developed by the Chinese government and approved during 1958) nowadays, but parts of it, especially the names of individuals and certain cities remain in use in the Republic of China (Taiwan).

She was the beloved consort of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang during his later years.
During the An Lushan Rebellion, as Emperor Xuanzong and his cortege were fleeing from the capital Chang'an to Chengdu, the emperor's guards demanded that he put Yang to death because they blamed the rebellion on her cousin Yang Guozhong and the rest of her family. The emperor capitulated and reluctantly ordered his attendant Gao Lishi to strangle Yang to death.

Qigong, chi kung, or chi gung (simplified Chinese: 气功; traditional Chinese: 氣功; pinyin: qìgōng; Wade–Giles: chi gong; literally: "Life Energy Cultivation") is a practice of aligning body, breath, and mind for health, meditation, and martial arts training. With roots in Chinese medicine, philosophy, and martial arts, qigong is traditionally viewed as a practice to cultivate and balance qi (chi) or what has been translated as "life energy".[1]
According to Daoist, Buddhist, and Confucian philosophy, respectively, qigong allows access to higher realms of awareness, awakens one's "true nature", and helps develop human potential.[2]
Qigong practice typically involves moving meditation, coordinating slow flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and calm meditative state of mind. Qigong is now practiced throughout China and worldwide for recreation, exercise and relaxation, preventive medicine and self-healing, complementary and alternative medicine, meditation and self-cultivation, and training for martial arts.
Over the centuries, a diverse spectrum of qigong forms developed in different segments of Chinese society. Traditionally, qigong training has been esoteric and secretive, with knowledge passed from adept master to student in lineages that maintain their own unique interpretations and methods. Although the practice of qigong was prohibited during the Cultural Revolution of the 1960s; it was once again allowed after 1976; and disparate approaches were merged and popularized, with emphasis shifted away from traditional philosophy, spiritual attainment, and folklore, and increasingly to health benefits, traditional medicine and martial arts applications, and a scientific perspective. Since a 1999 crackdown, practice of qigong in China has been restricted. Over the same period, interest in qigong has spread, with millions of practitioners worldwide.
Research concerning qigong has been conducted for a wide range of medical conditions, including hypertension, pain, and cancer treatment. Most systematic reviews of clinical trials have not been conclusive, and all have been based on poor quality clinical studies, such that no firm conclusions about the health effects of qigong can be drawn at this stage.

The monarch known now as Qin Shi Huang (Chinese: 秦始皇; pinyin: Qín Shǐ Huáng; Wade-Giles: Ch'in Shih-huang) (259 BCE -- September 10, 210 BCE),[1] personal name Yíng Zhèng, was king of the Chinese State of Qin from 247 BCE to 221 BCE (officially still under the Zhou Dynasty), and then the first emperor of a unified China from 221 BCE to 210 BCE, ruling under the name the First Emperor (Chinese: 始皇帝; pinyin: Shǐ Huáng Dì; Wade-Giles: Shih Huang-Ti). As the ruler of the Great Qin, he was known for the introduction of Legalism and also for unifying China.
Qin Shi Huang remains a controversial figure in Chinese history. Having unified China, he and his chief adviser Li Si passed a series of major reforms aimed at cementing unification, and they undertook some gigantic projects, most notably the precursor version of the current Great Wall of China, a city-sized mausoleum guarded by a life-sized Terracotta Army, and a massive national road system, at the expense of numerous human lives. To ensure stability, he outlawed Confucianism and buried many of its scholars alive, banning and burning all books other than those officially decreed.
For all the tyranny of his autocratic rule, Qin Shi Huang is still regarded by many today as a pivotal figure in Chinese history whose unification of China has endured for more than two millennia.

Qigong, chi kung, or chi gung (simplified Chinese: 气功; traditional Chinese: 氣功; pinyin: qìgōng; Wade--Giles: chi4 gong1; literally "Life Energy Cultivation") is a practice of aligning breath, movement, and awareness for exercise, healing, and meditation. With roots in Chinese medicine, martial arts, and philosophy, qigong is traditionally viewed as a practice to cultivate and balance qi (chi) or what has been translated as "intrinsic life energy".[2] Typically a qigong practice involves rhythmic breathing coordinated with slow stylized repetition of fluid movement, a calm mindful state, and visualization of guiding qi through the body.[3] Qigong is now practiced throughout China and worldwide, and is considered by some to be exercise, and by others to be a type of alternative medicine or meditative practice.[4] From a philosophical perspective qigong is believed to help develop human potential, allow access to higher realms of awareness, and awaken one's "true nature".[5]
The overall evidence for the health effects of qigong has been largely inconclusive or contradictory. Because the underlying clinical trials have been poorly designed and the data of poor quality, it is not possible to come to any firm conclusions as to the health effects of qigong.[6]

7106/A: EAST AFRICA: INTERVIEW WITH PRESIDENT NYERERE
The 1971 overthrow of President Milton Obote of
Uganda in a military coup has caused upheaval on the
East African political scene. The coup was greeted
with rejoicing in Kampala, but the new leader,
General Idi Amin, has so far received no diplomatic
recognition for his regime. Obote has taken refuge in
neighbouring Tanzania, where his cause is being
strongly championed by President Julius Nyerere.
We look at Ugandan developments, then move to a
wide-ranging interview with President Nyerere,
discussing not only Uganda but also the "arms for
South Africa" controversy and the question of Chinese
involvement in the construction of the multi-million
pound Tan-Zam railway project.

He attacked the Tang empire and was defeated by a revolt of the Tiele tribes led by the Uyghurs and the Syr-Tardush. He was the final Qaghan of the first Eastern Turkic Khaganate; the Western Turkic Khaganate continued for 28 more years.
In 627 he attempted to levy horses from the vassal Tiele tribes after all his livestock died from a summer snowstorm. The Tiele revolted under a Xueyantuo coalition. Emperor Taizong of Tang wasted no time in allying with these Tiele and the Khitans in a joint attack. Bagatur was already facing internal dissent from the Göktürk generals jealous of the influence of Bagatur's Sogdian vizers. Bagatur was defeated and captured in 630. He was bought back to Chang'an to face Taizong. After listing his crimes against the Tang State, Taizong spared the former Qaghan. In his later years, Taizong offered Illig Qaghan military position in the frontier territories, which was turned down by the latter.

The Zhou dynasty (c. 1046 – 256 BC; Chinese: 周朝; pinyin: Zhōu Cháo; Wade–Giles: Chou1 Ch'ao2 [tʂóʊ tʂʰɑ̌ʊ]) was a Chinese dynasty that followed the Shang dynasty and preceded the Qin dynasty. Although the Zhou dynasty lasted longer than any other dynasty in Chinese history, the actual political and military control of China by the dynasty, surnamed Ji (Chinese: 姬), lasted only until 771 BC, a period known as the Western Zhou.
This period of Chinese history produced what many consider the zenith of Chinese bronze-ware making. The dynasty also spans the period in which the written script evolved into its modern form with the use of an archaic clerical script that emerged during the late Warring States period.

[estudando] O TAOÍSMO - Convidado: Monge Xin Shan Tian [PARTE 2]
Taoismo filosófico (Chinês:道家; pinyin: dàojiā; Wade-Giles: tao-chia) - A escola filosófica baseada nos textos Dao De Jing (道德 经) e Zhuangzi (庄子);
Taoismo religioso (chinês: 道教; pinyin: dàojiào; Wade-Giles: tao-chiao) - Uma família de movimentos religiosos organizados da China, oriundos do movimento Mestres Celestiais durante o final da Dinastia Han e, mais tarde, incluindo as seitas "ortodoxa" (Zhengyi; 正 一) e a "Realidade Completa" (Quanzhen, 全 眞), que reivindicam linhagens descendentes de Laozi (老子) ou Daoling Zhang no final da dinastia Han;
Taoismo tradicional - A religião tradicional chinesa.

Emperor Taizu (born Zhao Kuangyin, Wade-Giles: Chao K'uang-yin; March 21, 927 C.E. -- November 14, 976) was the founder of the Song Dynasty of China, reigning from 960 C.E. to 976 C.E. The Song dynasty lasted until 1279. He reunified China after following a period of political instability and fragmentation. He strengthened the central administration and weakened the power of local warlords. He encouraged free discussion and thought and promoted science, the arts and literature. He reformed the civil service, restoring its original merit-based entry that had been compromised by appointments on the basis of birth. Although he seized power through the military, he introduced reforms that made it much more difficult for this process to be repeated. During the Song dynasty, Confucianism tended to attract state sponsorship and there was a decline of support for Buddhism, which was regarded as foreign. On the other hand, the concept of the universal man also developed during the Song period.
His family was of fairly modest origins and cannot be traced back with certainty further than the late Tang Dynasty. His ancestor Zhao Ting (828-874 C.E.) was an official who served in Zhuozhou, in Hebei, near where the family lived. His second son Zhao Ting (851-928) and his son Zhao Jing (872-933) also served as local officials in Hebei. Zhao Jing's son Zhao Hongyin (899-956) decided against a civil career and became a military officer instead.
Zhao Kuangyin had little interest in a classical education and also joined the military eventually rising to be the commander of the Palace Army. It was this post that enabled him to rise to power. The last competent Second Zhou Emperor, Shizong (reigned 954-960) died leaving an infant boy on the throne. Zhao Kuangyin, as the commander of the Emperor's guard, allegedly reluctantly and only at the urging of his soldiers, took power in a coup d'etat.
In 960 C.E., Zhao reunited China after years of fragmentation and rebellion after the fall of the Tang dynasty in 907 C.E. and established the Song dynasty. He was remembered for, but not limited to, his reform of the examination system whereby entry to the bureaucracy favored individuals who demonstrated academic ability rather than by birth. Zhao also created political institutions that allowed a great deal of freedom of discussion and thought, which facilitated the growth of scientific advance, economic reforms as well as achievements in arts and literature. He is perhaps best known for weakening the military and so preventing anyone else rising to power as he did.
Zhao reigned for 16 years and died in 976 at the age of 49. His younger brother unexpectedly succeeded him, even though he had four living sons. In the traditional historical accounts his mother, the Dowager Empress Du, warned him that just as he rose to power because if Zhou Shizong left an infant on the throne, someone else might usurp power if he did not name an adult as his heir.
His brother ruled as Song Taizong (976-997 C.E.). In China's folk memory, Song is said to have murdered his brother and invented his mother's advice as justification.
Zhao's temple name means "Grand Forefather."

Bilge Kağan (Eski Türkçe: , Bilge qaγan, 毗伽可汗, Pinyin: píjiā kěhàn, Wade-Giles: p'i-chia k'o-han, resmî unvan: , Tengriteg Тengride bolmuş Türk Bilge Kagan:Tanrı gibi gökte olmuş Türk Bilge Kağanı, soyadı ve ad: 阿史那 默棘連, āshǐnà mòjílián, a-shih-na mo-chi-lan; d. 683 ya da 684 - ö. 25 Kasım 734), İkinci Doğu Göktürk Kağanlığının kağanlarındandır.
Önce veziri Tonyukuk'u sonra kardeşi Kül Tigin'i kaybeden Bilge Kağan'ı, Çinlilerle işbirliği yapan bakanı Buyruk Çor zehirledi. Yatağında hasta yatarken, kendisini zehirleten bakan ve yardımcısını öldürten Bilge Kağan, 25 Kasım 734'de öldü.
Bilge Kağan'ın cenazesi 22 Haziran 735 tarihinde ("domuz" yılının 5. ayının 27'sinde) büyük bir törenle defnedildi.
Bilge Kağan'ın ölüm ve yoğ töreni ile ilgili tarihi, oğlu Teñri Kağan şu bilgileri yazdırmıştır:
"bunça : k(a)zg(a)n(ı)p : k(a)ñ[(ı)m k(a)ğ(a)n [ı]t yıl : on(u)nç (a)y : (a)ltı ot(u)zka : uça : b(a)rdı : l(a)zgin : yıl : biş(i)nç (a)y : yiti ot(u)zka : yoğ (e)rtürt(ü)m :"

Bilge Kağan (Eski Türkçe: , Bilge qaγan, 毗伽可汗, Pinyin: píjiā kěhàn, Wade-Giles: p'i-chia k'o-han, resmî unvan: , Tengriteg Тengride bolmuş Türk Bilge Kagan:Tanrı gibi gökte olmuş Türk Bilge Kağanı, soyadı ve ad: 阿史那 默棘連, āshǐnà mòjílián, a-shih-na mo-chi-lan; d. 683 ya da 684 - ö. 25 Kasım 734), İkinci Doğu Göktürk Kağanlığının kağanlarındandır.
Önce veziri Tonyukuk'u sonra kardeşi Kül Tigin'i kaybeden Bilge Kağan'ı, Çinlilerle işbirliği yapan bakanı Buyruk Çor zehirledi. Yatağında hasta yatarken, kendisini zehirleten bakan ve yardımcısını öldürten Bilge Kağan, 25 Kasım 734'de öldü.
Bilge Kağan'ın cenazesi 22 Haziran 735 tarihinde ("domuz" yılının 5. ayının 27'sinde) büyük bir törenle defnedildi.
Bilge Kağan'ın ölüm ve yoğ töreni ile ilgili tarihi, oğlu Teñri Kağan şu bilgileri yazdırmıştır:
"bunça : k(a)zg(a)n(ı)p : k(a)ñ[(ı)m k(a)ğ(a)n [ı]t yıl : on(u)nç (a)y : (a)ltı ot(u)zka : uça : b(a)rdı : l(a)zgin : yıl : biş(i)nç (a)y : yiti ot(u)zka : yoğ (e)rtürt(ü)m :"

Bada Shanren (ca. 1626-1705, Chinese: 八大山人; Wade-Giles: Pata Shanjen; is the artist's pseudonym literally meaning "Mountain Man of the Eight Greats", also spelled as Gan: Pat-thai San-nin) , born as Zhu Da (朱耷), was a Chinese painter of shuimohua or "sumi ink and water painting" and a calligrapher. Being a descendant of the Ming dynasty prince Zhu Quan, Bada Shanren, a purported child prodigy, began painting and writing poetry in his early childhood. About the year 1644, when the Ming emperor committed suicide while the Manchu army from the north attacked Beijing, the young Han Chinese man sought refuge in a Buddhist monastery. Because he was a Ming prince, the dynastic upheaval created a great amount of uncertainty for his position in society. As years passed and the Qing dynasty became more firmly established, there was less and less insecurity among the Qing regime about remaining Ming loyalties and possible future rebellions. Due to these more stable circumstances, after 40 years, Bada Shanren deemed it acceptable to leave the monastery and to re-enter day-to-day life among society. In the aftermath of a nervous breakdown that could have been staged to avoid retribution for his family background, Zhu Da abandoned his monastic life and developed a career as a professional painter, adopting a series of descriptive pseudonyms, most notably Bada Shanren by which he is most often known today. Art historians and many leading painters after him considered Daba Shanren as the second peak after Xu Wei in the history of Chinese shuimohua .
Most of his works are small size spontaneous studies of nature. His flower-and-birds painting had a mysterious style of his own and often left large areas of voids for the viewer's imagination. His characteristic birds, fish and animals are all reflections of his personality. Bada Shanren also incorporated calligraphy into his painting in terms of expressive and abstract strokes, and the use of ink. His brushstrokes, which seem free and careless at first glance, are filled with vitality and descriptive power.
Bada Shanren's art has influenced many generations of Chinese painters even today. The minimalism of his ink paintings of flowers, birds, fish and landscapes appealed to the Japanese sumi painters and his style has become synonymous with Zen painting in Japan.

Personally, Bada Shanren is my favorite artist. I have learned lotus, bamboo, birds-and-flowers from his art works, espacially his sidebrush strokes. I always got some inspirations to paint everytime browsing through his paintings. As you can see from this video how my daughter Amy likes this book and learns from copying Bada's painting.
This book contains two volumes which included a complete collection of Bada's major paintings.
