In a new study from CarInsuraceComparison.com, these five states house the worst drivers in the country.
As motorists shake their fists at other drivers over the busy Thanksgiving holiday, a car-insurance group has taken away the guesswork and ranked the worst drivers in the country.
Montana retained its dubious title from last year of having the worst drivers, as ranked for several categories of traffic fatalities by CarInsuranceComparison.com, a site that allows people to compare insurance companies. Big Sky Country ranks tops for speeding, sixth for careless driving and eighth for failure to obey traffic laws.
"Montana has the potentially deadly combination of high speed limits and severe winter weather that could really be driving up fatality rates," said Tyler Spraul, who directed the study for the web site.
But New Mexico, which hadn’t ranked among the top 10 last year, leapt into a tie for second place with South Carolina. New Mexico, the land of enchantment, ranked fifth for careless driving and 10th for drunken driving, with troubling standings for speeding and failure to obey traffic laws.
"The rate of drunk driving should be a cause for concern among New Mexico residents, as their biggest change came in that category," Spraul said.

As more people have exotic pets and more people move to Florida and encounter wild animals, firefighters are getting more interesting calls for help.
The St. Augustine Fire Department is choosing to trains its staff so they will know how to better handle animal calls, especially when they are the first on the scene.
This week, at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, firefighters are training with alligators and snakes because they never know what they'll find on the job.
The training course gets firefighters up-close and personal with venomous and non-venomous snakes and alligators.
"I think they get more of their fair share of calls for big creepy crawlies or scary things," said Jim Darlington, who works at the Alligator Farm and leads the training course.
Firefighter Chris Pacetti agreed, saying, "I think people would be surprised at all the things we respond to."

A forensics team with the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office is investigating a video burning up Twitter, purportedly showing "affluenza" teen Ethan Couch at a party where people were playing beer pong.
Couch received 10 years of probation after driving drunk and killing four people. He was 16 years old at the time, with Judge Jean Boyd drawing scorn for sentencing him to treatment and probation, but no time locked up in a juvenile justice center.
He became a household name because of his "affluenza" defense, claiming he was raised as a rich kid who never knew consequences.
The issue is whether or not it would be a violation of his conditions of probation, which includes not drinking alcohol. The DA would like to hear from other witnesses at the party before deciding.
In the video, you can see beer cans stacked up as a guy with a with a ping pong ball leaps onto a table lined with cups. A young man shown laughing at the antics looks a lot like Couch, who is now 18.

A priceless photo of a 90-year-old woman kissing Santa Claus in front of her husband goes viral...but that isn't even the cutest part of this story.
Is a picture really worth a thousand words?
Perhaps.
But sometimes all you need is one.
"Happiness" is what comes to mind for Mary Wyatt Petersen, as she clutches an iPad displaying the Christmas photo she took with her husband Bill Petersen and Santa.
The photo shoot Sunday at Tonkadale Greenhouse had started out routinely.
Then Santa threw a curveball.
"Santa said to my mother, now give me a little kiss on the cheek," recalls Mary's daughter, Cacky Wyatt Bell.
Mary resisted, but only for a moment. "Pretty soon, I'm into it," she laughs. Santa got a peck on the cheek, Bill reacted with a hearty laugh and Cacky – a profession photographer – clicked her shutter.
The picture hit Facebook and just like that, a social media moment was born.
"It's so genuine," says Mary
Bill can't disagree. "It's just who we are."

Learn how Gannett went from a chaotic pool of hand-crafted Heroku instances to a culture of automation and continuous delivery with Chef. By creating a DevOps team, Gannett empowered developers to automate the full stack, monitor comprehensively, and deploy code frequently. In June 2000, USA Today's TV Sports columnist and the paper's initial sports editor; Rudy Martzke was subject of a celebrity roast and charity golf tournament in Biloxi Mississippi at the Beau Rivage Casino Resort. His previous career in basketball front offices with NCAA, ABA & NBA teams in cities such as Buffalo, Miami, St. Louis and roles as a sportswriter for several newspapers provided fodder for much comedy.
Here are some highlight excerpts from the dinner including sports broadcaster Craig Sager's good natured, but none the less well prepared biting attacks. Other roasters on the dais that night included Dr. Jack Ramsay, Cris Collinsworth, Randy Cross, Lee Corso, Ken Stabler, Tom Dorsey, Brent Musburger, Billy Packer, Fred Hickman, Vince Cellini, Spencer Tillman and gracious event MC's Tim Brando and Danny Sheridan.
Sports Illustrated's John Walters' wrote a recap of the event available online here: http://www.si.com/vault/2000/07/03/283889/rump-roast-influential-usa-today-tv-critic-rudy-martzke-was-the-butt-of-jokes-at-a-dinner-in-his-honor
