Uppsala
Uppsala (pronounced [ˈɵpË?ˈsÉ‘Ë?la]; older spelling Upsala) is the capital of Uppsala County and the fourth largest city of Sweden, after Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. It had 140,454 inhabitants in 2010.
Located 71Â km (44Â mi) north of the capital Stockholm, it is also the seat of Uppsala Municipality. Since 1164, Uppsala has been the ecclesiastical centre of Sweden, being the seat of the Archbishop of the Church of Sweden. Founded in 1477, Uppsala University is the oldest centre of higher education in Scandinavia.
History
Uppsala was originally located a few kilometres north of its current location at a place now known as Gamla Uppsala (Old Uppsala). Today's Uppsala was then called Östra Aros. (Old) Uppsala was, according to medieval writer Adam of Bremen, the main pagan centre of Sweden, and the Temple at Uppsala contained magnificent idols of the Norse gods. The Fyrisvellir plains along the river south of Old Uppsala, in the area where the modern city is situated today, was the site of the Battle of Fyrisvellir in the 980s.

Uppsala, Sweden in 4K
Uppsala is the fourth largest city in Sweden with a population of roughly 220,000. It's a 30 minute train ride just north of Stockholm. Its flagship university was founded in 1477 and is considered one of the top 100 universities in the world. This is my first ever drone video. I'm always looking to become a better drone flyer and videographer so if you have any recommendations for me, please leave some in the comments. I hope you enjoy it! This video also explores Uppsala Cathedral, St Erik's Well, Uppsala Castle, and Uppsala University. Special attention is also given to one of the students, and later principal, of Uppsala University: Carl von Linné, Carl Linnaeus, a world-famous botanist.
The botanical gardens of Uppsala is another majestic sight, and it's fitting that we end the video in the legacy of Carl von Linné, in the University Botanical Garden.

The Temple at Uppsala was a religious center dedicated to the Norse gods Thor, Odin, and Freyr.
Every nine years the entire Swedish people celebrated a common festival, and they sacrificed nine males of each species, including men.
If there was disease or famine, sacrifices were made to Thor, if there was war to Odin and if there were marriages to Frey.

Uppsala is the fourth largest city in Sweden with a population of roughly 220,000. It's a 30 minute train ride just north of Stockholm. Its flagship university was founded in 1477 and is considered one of the top 100 universities in the world.
This is my first ever drone video. I'm always looking to become a better drone flyer and videographer so if you have any recommendations for me, please leave some in the comments. I hope you enjoy it!
I've lived here for a year now and absolutely love it. Some of the shots in the video include Uppsala Cathedral (Uppsala Domkyrka), Uppsala Castle (Uppsala Slott), the Fyris River, and Linneanum Botanical Garden.

Uppsala is a town just north of Stockholm. It's home to the biggest church in Scandinavia, the oldest university in the Nordics...and the graves of the descendants of the Old Norse gods.
Uppsala is a vibrant student town with a rich cultural life. The University of Uppsala is famous worldwide, and it’s the oldest university in the Nordics. The university was founded in 1477, and during the Great Power Era in the 17th and 18th century, the town of Uppsala was among the top European places for higher education.
In the Vendel Era, roughly 550 AD and up until the Viking Age, Uppsala became a center for trade and wealth was accumulated there. During that time the Royal Mounds of Uppsala were raised. People believe that these mounds were dedicated to Odin, Thor and Frej - or possibly three mythological kings of Sweden. As I visit the historical site of Old Uppsala (Gamla Uppsala), I dive into questions of how much truth there is to the Old Norse myths.
This video also explores Uppsala Cathedral, St Erik's Well, Uppsala Castle, and Uppsala University. Special attention is also given to one of the students, and later principal, of Uppsala University: Carl von Linné, Carl Linnaeus, a world-famous botanist.
The botanical gardens of Uppsala is another majestic sight, and it's fitting that we end the video in the legacy of Carl von Linné, in the University Botanical Garden.

Uppsala
Uppsala (pronounced [ˈɵpË?ˈsÉ‘Ë?la]; older spelling Upsala) is the capital of Uppsala County and the fourth largest city of Sweden, after Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. It had 140,454 inhabitants in 2010.
Located 71Â km (44Â mi) north of the capital Stockholm, it is also the seat of Uppsala Municipality. Since 1164, Uppsala has been the ecclesiastical centre of Sweden, being the seat of the Archbishop of the Church of Sweden. Founded in 1477, Uppsala University is the oldest centre of higher education in Scandinavia.

Uppsala was originally located a few kilometres north of its current location at a place now known as Gamla Uppsala (Old Uppsala). Today's Uppsala was then called Östra Aros. (Old) Uppsala was, according to medieval writer Adam of Bremen, the main pagan centre of Sweden, and the Temple at Uppsala contained magnificent idols of the Norse gods. The Fyrisvellir plains along the river south of Old Uppsala, in the area where the modern city is situated today, was the site of the Battle of Fyrisvellir in the 980s.
