A suspect associated with the double homicide of two cousins in a deserted parking lot in Taipei last week has been found and questioned by police.
The man, identified by his last name, Chen, has an arrest record for dealing ketamine. He explained that he and the cousins, who shared the last name Cai, drove up to Taipei to collect either money or drugs which a local Taipei gangster owed their boss, back in Taichung.
The Taipei boss had steadily shorted the Taichung boss, until he owed him USD $6K in illegal ketamine. Displeased--to put it lightly--the Taichung boss contacted the Taipei boss to discuss settling the debt. The Taipei gang boss agreed and told him to send some guys to pick up the drugs.
So the two Cai cousins, age 21 and 24, along with Chen drove to Taipei. They met with the Taipei gang boss at a hostess bar and were promised they’d get the drugs later that evening, in the meantime, the Taipei boss sent along one of his men to act as a tour guide.
Chen went to a hotel, not interested in the evening of drinking and other activities.
Early in the morning, the Cai cousins and their local guide drove into a mostly empty parking garage in the Ximen district of Taipei. One of the cousins left to buy drinks at a convenience store, that was when their guide turned assassin and shot the remaining cousin in the head. The assassin then put the body in the backseat and shot it three more times.
When the other cousin returned the assassin shoved him from behind and put two bullets in his head. He dumped the body in the backseat with his other victim.
The assassin then left the parking garage on foot, wiping down the gun as he went and tossing a smirk over his shoulder at the CCTV cameras. He encountered two women in the elevator as he left, but he was so calm the women didn’t notice anything.
Chen called the cousins the following morning and received no answer, but a few hours later when he saw the news about the double homicide he fled back to Taichung afraid for his own life.
Police are still investigating the case and searching for the assassin.

Bangkok Residents, Tourists Pray for Arrest of Erawan Shrine Attackers

Residents and tourists in Bangkok flocked to the reopened Erawan Shrine on Wednesday to pray for the quick arrest of the perpetrators behind Monday's bomb blast that killed at least 20 people.
Two blasts rocked Thailand's capital Bangkok on Monday and Tuesday. The first occurred at Erawan Shrine, a popular tourist destination, and the second happened at a busy pier.
The shrine closed after the blast and reopened on Wednesday.
People visited the shrine throughout the day and into the night to pray for the deceased.
"I came here to pray, hoping the victims can rest in peace and the murderers are arrested soon. I hope Thailand can be safe," said a Thai resident.
"I hope Phra Phrom can bless the Thai police to help them arrest the murderers as soon as possible. I hope the victims can rest in peace," said a Chinese tourist guide surnamed Fan.
Thai police confirmed that the same type of bomb was used in the two blasts, indicating that the same group may be behind both incidents.

It’s very common for spring and summer hikers to encounter snowfields before they have a chance to melt, especially in higher elevations.
Knowing how to cross them safely will be the difference between having a successful adventure and either risking a terrible fall or turning around to head back home early.
When you first come across snow on the trail, it’s important to examine it to see what type of snow you’re going to be walking across.
When traversing a steep snow slope, it’s critical to consider what would happen if you slipped.
The snow might be soft and level enough for you to stop yourself by digging your knees, feet, and elbows in.
But if it’s not, you will pick up speed very quickly until the either slope evens out or something below, like a cliff, jagged rocks, or a tree, breaks your fall.
If you ever have any uncertainty about being able to stop yourself from sliding, you should carry an ice axe and be confident in your ability to self-arrest.
An ice axe has many uses, but it is primarily a safety tool for helping you stop an unexpected fall down a slope, which is called making a self-arrest.
Learning how to properly self-arrest is a life-saving skill that will take lots of practice to master, but learning the basics is easy.
Because being able to self-arrest is such a critical skill, I highly recommend taking a snow skills class so you can practice it repeatedly in a safe learning environment with experts to help give you feedback.
When carrying an ice axe on a snow slope, always hold the axe in your uphill hand with your thumb under the adze and the pick of the axe pointing backwards.
It’s also very important to have a good grip on your ice axe at all times. Your ice axe is your lifeline and dropping it could be disastrous, so hold on tight.
If you do slip down the slope, it will be important to assume the proper self-arrest position and stop your slide as quickly as possible.
In the self-arrest position, you’ll bring the ice axe to your chest diagonally across your body with one hand on top of the axe with the pick facing out at shoulder level and your other hand down the shaft on the other side.
Keep your arms tucked into your sides and a very firm grip on the axe.
Once you’re in the proper arrest position with your axe contacting the snow and your feet facing down slope, put as much pressure on the pick of the axe as possible to stop your slide.
Arch your back, keep your knees wide, lift your feet up, and keep your stomach off the snow. In this position you’ll be able to put the bulk of your weight on the pick.
It’s very important to keep your feet up until you slow your slide. If you try to dig your feet in, you might send yourself into a cartwheel down the slope.
This is especially important if you’re wearing crampons or traction devices on your feet, which could catch and cause you a serious leg injury.
Falling down the slope on your stomach with your feet facing downhill will make it easy to self-arrest, but in an actual slip, you body could be in any number of different positions.
That’s why it’s important to practice getting to the proper self-arrest technique from a variety of different falling positions, including being on your back and upside down.
The most common four positions you could find yourself in are with your head uphill or downhill, and either on your back or your stomach.
In any slide position, the main goal is to reorient yourself to the basic self-arrest position as quickly as possible.
It’s also important to know that the self-arrest technique is an absolutely critical skill that could safe your life, but it’s not fail proof.
It can be nearly impossible to stop yourself if the slope is too steep and slippery or if you get going too fast before you can self-arrest.
That’ why using sound judgment, balanced footwork, and having confident skills on snow will help you to avoid falling in the first place, which is a much better goal.
Before you head out on an early season trip, make sure to check on snow conditions so you know what to expect and can bring the right equipment.
Remember that snow slopes will be easier to cross after they’ve have warmed up and don’t hesitate to turn around if the consequences of a fall are too dangerous.
It’s always better to be practiced, confident, and safe than to take unnecessary risks that could put you or your group in danger.

Federal agents have charged an Iraqi-born American citizen, described as an ex-military translator, for allegedly lying about pledging allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State.
According to a court document in Dallas, Texas, Bilal Abood is accused by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for travelling to Syria via Mexico, Turkey and several other countries in April 2013.
The criminal complaint alleges that after returning in September that year, Abood was interviewed by federal agents who also barred him from travelling to Iraq in March, 2013.
During the interview, Abood is said to have admitted to FBI agents that he went to Syria to fight with the Free Syrian Army.
In July 2014, federal agents seized Abood’s computers. CNN reports that Abood is alleged to have pledged allegiance to leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in a tweet and have spent time watching IS propaganda.
The New York Times reports that when the FBI questioned Abood about the alleged tweet, he is said to have denied it, leading to what authorities called his false statement.
If convicted, Abood faces up to eight years in prison on the false statement charge.

♥OPEN ME -
Hey Guys!! We've been doing a lot more traveling, and plan to do some more in the summer, soooo I thought I would share a video with MY personal packing essentials. =)
Depending on how long I will be gone for, I like to make sure I have EVERYTHING I will need, but I also still try to still pack as minimal as possible.. What are some of your packing tips?

3) Toys, Books, Stuffed Animals- I always make sure I pack his favorite dog 'Spot', his favorite books, and his most loved toys.
4) Shoes - Oliver has been walking for a few months now. I love the Freshly Picked (http://bit.ly/1GxGcdL) shoes for him, and also the baby Uggs (http://bit.ly/1BkEM0f) for very cold weather like when we were in Tahoe. Those are the only shoes he doesn't take off his feet. He's not a huge socks/shoe fan. ;)
