Say you have a problem, a past failure, and you try to overcome it and can't. So you try again and fail. And you try again and the door stays shut. Well, you might just stop trying.
For many fellow neighbors in Calcasieu Parish who have a criminal record, this history stops them from getting a job, or getting a better job. To work in most Industrial Construction or at the Plants you need a TWIC Card, and having a criminal record can keep you from getting your card.
Try. Fail. Quit.
Our District Attorney, John DeRosier, has launched the Fresh Start Initiative to help lots of our neighbors see if they can get their records expunged.

If you're looking for a criminal justice lawyer, please contact The Law Office of Patrick L. Hancock on the internet or by phoning (210) 223-8844 today to be put in contact with a skilled solicitor in San Antonio.
Keep in mind that by attempting to browse the criminal justice system on your own, you are put at the mercy of judges and prosecutors who are most concerned with obtaining a conviction. Our defense attorneys possess the resources and are concerned with protecting your rights and to ensure the preferable results potential.
Our criminal defense lawyers have decided to represent individuals in San Antonio, and other parts of Texas, charged with:
Violent crimes
Homicide
Drug-related offenses

No criminal defense attorney can assure you a favorable plea bargain or an acquittal; making such guarantees is unethical. But, the character of the legal system is such that prosecuting attorneys frequently have tremendous advantages over defendants. A lot of those accused of offenses lack the resources to engage qualified legal representation - and many defendants wind up signing onto plea bargains that may haunt them for years and negotiating away their rights because district attorneys have critical influence over defendants.
We are going to investigate your case and discover the defects in the theories of the state, locate witnesses and order expert testimony for you, and do everything possible to attain results that are preferable.
Needless to say, the fact is the fact that lots of criminal cases are managed outside the court. Plea discussions are where the ability of your defense attorney will come into play. The criminal defense lawyers at Law Offices of Patrick L. Hancock ensure that your rights are defended, and interests represented and will likely be your champion in these types of discussions.

Criminal acts in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
This is being forced upon me to reveal because the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and all parties, including the District Attorney are continuously committing crimes against me and trying to take away my rights and freedom over nothing.
When you learn of this corrupt government, they try to almost "take you out" or whatever is closest to that.
And there is no other way to stop it than to tell it publicly .
Every party thinks they can commit crimes within their titles and falsely charge an innocent person to ruin their life just for knowing about the corruption.

There is an arrest warrant or "directive to apprehend" Ethan Couch, who was sentenced to probation, but his case is still in juvenile court, Randy Turner, the chief juvenile probation officer for the county, told ABC News today.
Tarrant District Attorney's office spokeswoman Samantha Jordan said the office is "looking into the whereabouts of Ethan and [his mother] Tonya Couch at this time."
Couch's lawyers said the teen had been living with his mother and has not been in contact with his probation officer.
"We have recently learned that, for the last several days, the juvenile probation officer has been unable to make contact with Ethan or his mother with whom he has been residing," Couch's lawyers, Reagan Wynn and Scott Brown, said in an email to ABC News. "It is our understanding that the court has issued a directive to apprehend, to have Ethan detained because he is out of contact with his probation officer."
Couch, now 18, was sentenced in 2013 to 10 years of probation and later ordered to enter rehab after he plowed into a group of people in Burleson, Texas, while driving drunk after a party. Couch’s probation terms stated he could not drive, drink alcohol or use drugs. Violating those terms could result in a jail sentence of up to 10 years, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office said at the time.
Couch is already under investigation after a video posted on social media appears to show him next to a drinking game, possibly in violation of this probation, Jordan told ABC News earlier this month. The six-second video, posted on Twitter Dec. 2, purportedly shows Couch clapping and laughing after another man jumps on a beer pong table in a room. That investigation is still ongoing, Jordan said.
The district attorney's office opened an investigation on Couch when the video first surfaced, Jordan said. Police say the teen was barreling down a road when he lost control and struck a group of people helping a stranded driver on the side of the road. The crash killed the motorist and three bystanders; two passengers in Couch's truck were sent to the hospital with serious injuries.
Couch's defense team, which included psychologist Dr. G. Dick Miller, argued that the teen suffered from "affluenza," meaning his irresponsible behavior and lifestyle were a product of his affluent upbringing and "profoundly dysfunctional" parents.
Although lawyers in the case did not specifically use "affluenza" as Couch's defense, Miller used the term in his testimony as a paid witness for the defense.

From Photography Is Not A Crime: A California cop who shot a man who had stuck his head out of a car that had rolled over will not be prosecuted, a district attorney announced Thursday.
Paradise police officer Patrick Feaster told investigators he never meant to shoot Andrew Thomas, possibly leaving him paralyzed for the rest of his life.
And Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey took Feaster’s word on it, which led to his decision not to prosecute. But despite his claim that the shooting was accidental, Feaster never mentioned to the responding paramedics and officers that he had shot Thomas until more than ten minutes after their arrival.
And only because another officer noticed he had been shot and was preparing to dispatch officers to the bar where Thomas and his wife had been drinking to see if he had been shot there.

On Tuesday a jury in Massachusetts found Philip Chism guilty of first-degree murder in the 2013 killing of his high school math teacher, Colleen Ritzer. Chism was charged as an adult. According to Carrie Kimball Monahan from the Essex District Attorney's Press Office, he faces life in prison with the possibility of parole between 15 and 25 years. During closing arguments Monday, defense attorney Denise Regan recounted the testimony of psychiatrists, arguing that Chism has suffered from a psychotic disorder since a young age and that he responded to voices and hallucinations at the time of Ritzer's killing.

No charges for cop who shot man climbing from collision that killed wife

A California district attorney will not file charges
against a police officer he says ‘accidentally’
shot a man crawling away from a fatal collision.
DUI suspect Andrew Nicholas Thomas, 26, and
his wife Darien Ehorn, 23, were involved in a car
accident after leaving the Canteena Bar in
Paradise, California on Nov. 26. Ehorn was
ejected and died.
A report indicates that witnesses told officials the
couple had sped out of the parking lot and
‘nearly ran over some people.’ The SUV’s
headlights were allegedly not turned on when it
went through a red light, hit a median and
overturned.
Thomas survived the collision and was climbing
out of the wreckage when Officer Patrick Feaster
arrived. The cruiser’s dashcam was rolling.
Within moments, Feaster had his gun
pointed toward Thomas. Police footage showed
the firearm discharge and Thomas fall back into
the vehicle. He was shot in the neck and
sustained damage to the C7 and T1 vertebrae,
according to the D.A.’s report.
An investigation determined that only one shot
was fired. What appeared to be a possible
second shot in the video was determined to be a
beam of light.
Feaster did not report the possibility his weapon
fired until fellow officers pulled Thomas from the
car with a gun shot wound. Eleven minutes went
by before he made any mention of it, CBS
reports.
The Butte County Officer Involved Shooting/
Critical Incident Protocol Team underwent an
‘extensive’ investigation that led to District
Attorney Mike Ramsey announcing Thursday that
no charges would be filed against the officer.
“The evidence in this case tends strongly
towards showing the shooting to be unintentional
and possibly negligent, but not criminally so,”
Ramsey’s final report stated.
Reaction to Ramsey’s announcement was
overwhelmingly negative and prompted the D.A.
to followup with a ‘lay’ report to explain how his
office came to its final decision.
Ramsey used the followup report to emphasize
that he was not passing judgment on whether or
not the officer should have drawn his weapon in
the first place.
“[The report] is not, and never was, intended to
pass judgment upon the tactics and judgment
exercised by the officer that night,” the statement
noted.
CBS reports that Thomas has been charged with
vehicular homicide.
