There are currently twelve sovereign monarchies in Europe: the Principality of Andorra, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Principality of Monaco, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Kingdom of Norway, the Kingdom of Spain, the Kingdom of Sweden, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the State of the Vatican City. Ten of these are states where the head of state inherits his or her office, and usually keeps it for life or until they abdicate. As for the other two: in the Vatican City, the head of state, the Sovereign, is elected at the papal conclave, while in Andorra, the joint heads of state are the elected President of France and the Bishop of Urgell, appointed by the Pope.
Most of the monarchies in Europe are constitutional monarchies, which means that the monarch does not influence the politics of the state: either the monarch is legally prohibited from doing so, or the monarch does not utilize the political powers vested in the office by convention. The exceptions are Liechtenstein, which is usually considered a semi-constitutional monarchy due to the large influence the prince still has on politics, and the Vatican City, which is a theocratic absolute elective monarchy. There is currently no major campaign to abolish the monarchy in any of the twelve states, although there is a significant minority of republicans in many of them. Currently seven of the twelve monarchies are members of the European Union: Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

James VI and I (19 June 1566 – 27 March 1625) was King of Scotland as James VI from 24 July 1567 and King of England and Ireland as James I from the union of the Scottish and English crowns on 24 March 1603 until his death. The kingdoms of Scotland and England were individual sovereign states, with their own parliaments, judiciary, and laws, though both were ruled by James in personal union.
James was the son of Mary, Queen of Scots, and a great-great-grandson of Henry VII, King of England and Lord of Ireland (through both his parents), uniquely positioning him to eventually accede to all three thrones. James succeeded to the Scottish throne at the age of thirteen months, after his mother Mary was compelled to abdicate in his favour. Four different regents governed during his minority, which ended officially in 1578, though he did not gain full control of his government until 1583. In 1603, he succeeded the last Tudor monarch of England and Ireland, Elizabeth I, who died without issue. He continued to reign in all three kingdoms for 22 years, a period known as the JACOBean era after him, until his death in 1625 at the age of 58. After the Union of the Crowns, he based himself in England (the largest of the three realms) from 1603, only returning to Scotland once in 1617, and styled himself "King of Great Britain and Ireland". He was a major advocate of a single parliament for both England and Scotland. In his reign, the Plantation of Ulster and British colonization of the Americas began.
At 57 years and 246 days, James's reign in Scotland was longer than those of any of his predecessors. He achieved most of his aims in Scotland but faced great difficulties in England, including the Gunpowder Plot in 1605 and repeated conflicts with the English Parliament. Under James, the "Golden Age" of Elizabethan literature and drama continued, with writers such as William Shakespeare, John Donne, Ben Jonson, and Sir Francis Bacon contributing to a flourishing literary culture. James himself was a talented scholar, the author of works such as Daemonologie (1597), True Law of Free Monarchies (1598), and Basilikon Doron (1599). He sponsored the translation of the Bible that was named after him: the Authorised King James Version. Sir Anthony Weldon claimed that James had been termed "the wisest fool in Christendom", an epithet associated with his character ever since. Since the latter half of the 20th century, historians have tended to revise James's reputation and treat him as a serious and thoughtful monarch

Napoleon - Episode 3
In 1815, Napoleon was taken to the remote island of St Helena in the Atlantic Ocean, a prisoner of the British. It had taken just a year for the monarchies of Europe, the anti-Napoleonic powers of the world, to destroy him. This final episode charts the fall of Napoleon, a key defining moment in global history. He trusted the Tsar of Russia - but the Tsar reneged on their deal. He sought revenge b

On 28 June 1914, the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne was assassinated on a visit to Sarajevo by a Serbian nationalist called Gavrilo Princip. The assassination set in motion the events that led to the outbreak of the First World War, one of the bloodiest conflicts in human history and a trauma that would bring down the Austro-Hungarian Empire, ending nearly eight centuries of Hapsburg rule and unleashing unrest across the European continent. By the end of that conflict, not only had the Austro-Hungarian Empire crumbled but the other two imperial rulers of Europe, Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany and Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, had lost their grip on power. The three great monarchies of Europe had fallen. Over in Britain, the first cousin of both the Kaiser and the Tsar, George V, successfully retained the crown. In this new book, Gareth Russell tells the story of the Austrian, German and Russian imperial families during the four years of the First World War and the political and personal struggles that brought about their ruin. REVIEWS Mr. Russell has produced a highly readable work, good as a refresher about all you forgot or did not listen to at school.Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The Great War's Forgotten Realm: Revisiting the Habsburg Monarchy's First World War
For a long time historians have seen the First World War as the last nail in the coffin for the dying Habsburg Empire. Notre Dame’s own Historian John Deak will talk about new, emerging perspectives that fundamentally call into question this classic interpretation and what it may mean for central European history and our understanding of the First World War.

We start with the Royals Panic attack and Princess Anne the OLYMPIAN's sad stance on her family and its FASCIST beliefs. That is Princess Anne of the WWWWW Win Win Windsor family with the German affiliation who made the stammering King movie and the speech. We start with the Blue danube music and the 1936 HITLER OLYMPICs. The theme still though is the christianity fraud which sparks more war deaths and holocausts than any other factor in human history. I summarise that both my wife and the Marquess of Berhamsted (WWW William Duke of Cumberland and Marquess of Berkhamsted/Jeff Chaucer was the clerk of works in the kings castle in Berkhamsted where I started in PHARMA and met my disloyal wife working for Manpower as temp (£4000 in debt & homeless). The Harris family now run the BUTLINS donkey neighing christianity fraud to cover the Harris Nuremburg inquest chair Whitney Harris. The massacre of the catholic jacobites at Culloden is typical of the sectarian culls. So Princess Anne panics and declares she wants to reduce global population from 9Bn to 500 million (see Georgia Guidestones). She is an Olympian like Hitler....ALSO trained in Fascism in Britain (Tavistock and Liverpool). The Princess' NERVE GASSES Sarin and the other trench gasses were made and studied at ROTHAMSTED where they have lost all their funds for pesticides and it has been diverted into GLOBAL warming scandal. I worked with all those scientists and all their funds have been shunted into the GREEN ECOLOGY scam that is soon to be the tax on breathing. I met my wife at Wellcome in Berhamsted the town where de Gaulle fled to in WW2 and where the nerve gases were made. The tragedy of all wars in Europe is the catholic -protestant denominational issues that drive every nation to war again and again. It helps them secure the central banks and that interlocks the ABBA joke about the lords prayer and the father god with ABBA singing about WATERLOO & the five arrows CENTRAL BANKS all over Europe. The Royals bring down the twin towers with Prince Andrew head of the British Trade delegation living in the LODGE at Windsor...married to Fergie who brought down the twin towers to let Blair invade Iraq & Afgahnistan and deploy Sarah Ferguson's little red doll as a reminder of their power and the SCHINDLERS LIST little red girl surviving the fascist holocaust as one of the CHOSEN ONES that own the world by fear suppression and economic scams against the people. The Royals lead the freemasons all over the world but the orders are given by the money lenders that "JESUS" the most lethal creation of the litarary fraudsters in world history. S o retell the beheading of Maary queen of Scots by the protestant claimants in her family....same story when Queen Anne passes the country of Gt Britain on to George I -IV of Hanover, My wife from Berkhamsted now lives with other profiteers within 1 mile of Thomson's monument which is the monument to the THOMson who wrote RULE BRITANNIA. The MERSE is the Tweed valley and that is the Virgin Mary's Arse: Same joke in the Yellow Submarine from the river Spree with Hitler on board is the MERSEYSIDE joke too. Lord Liverpool in the Empire in india but then I sooth you with Brahms as we sail up the river Danube into Austro Hungarian Hitler country. All the costumes in the Olympic fascist festivals are jokes like the kilts and hitler youths lederhosen, The Arian myths are the links to false christianity, the warmongering universities that train the PMs Chancellors to be FAR RIGHT and to steal......most countries in WW1 2 and the Olympics have the cross for christ or the non existent saints on their flags. The goose that lays the golden eggs is the GOOSOLINI joke for the Warner Brothers and goose stepping in 1936 is surpassed in 2012 when mr Bean openly laughs at the ANZAC war dead in Galipoli (Mr Bean was the war correspondent for Galipoli). The Warner brothers were shipped out of the Treblinka region of Poland to become the Warner Brothers joke about allied propaganda and their home town was the first holocaust massacre by the German Panzer Division....to kill all the Jews that might have revealed the Warners were Polish Jews but now allied propagandist and geopolitical zionist movie makers for the rest of our twisted history. The cossack dancing in the bizarre folk costumes continues as I open my ONE NOTE TABs. I expose the demonisation of women in the bible and their killing by the world of politics that is Norma Jean Marilyn Monroe and the barefaced lies of Elton John out of Watford and into the celebrate the deaths of Princess Di and the innocents that include Prince Albert killed within the Saxe Coburg family that became the W W W Windsors with most of the kids sired by the ROTHSCHILDS in illegit monarchies all over Europe. The trench gases were invented and refined in HERTs at Rothhamsted but they now get no funding to kill pests safely cos it all goes into the GLOBAL WARMING
wn.com/Merry Christian Wives Of Windsor1 Ww1 WW2 Gerry Brits Monarchy Anne Prefers Gas For 9Bn
