Here's a short crash course on abstract art, how it evolved and how to appreciate it.
(Note: Expressionism has not been included)

Documentary in which painter and critic Matthew Collings charts the rise of abstract art over the last 100 years, whilst trying to answer a set of basic questions that many people have about this often-baffling art form. How do we respond to abstract art when we see it? Is it supposed to be hard or easy? When abstract artists chuck paint about with abandon, what does it mean? Does abstract art stand for something or is it supposed to be understood as just itself?
These might be thought of as unanswerable questions, but by looking at key historical figures and exploring the private world of abstract artists today, Collings shows that there are, in fact, answers.
Living artists in the programme create art in front of the camera using techniques that seem outrageously free, but through his friendly-yet-probing interview style Collings immediately establishes that the work always has a firm rationale. When Collings visits 92-year-old Bert Irvin in his studio in Stepney, east London he finds that the colourful works continue experiments in perceptual ideas about colour and space first established by abstract art pioneers such as Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky in the 1910s.
Other historic artists featured in the programme include the notorious Jackson Pollock, the maker of drip paintings, and Mark Rothko, whose abstractions often consist of nothing but large expanses of red. Collings explains the inner structure of such works. It turns out there are hidden rules to abstraction that viewers of this intriguing, groundbreaking programme may never have expected.

Ready and therefore apply directly from the tube , the 32 shades in the range can be diluted in water for technical transparency and watercolor effects.
acrylic paints Gerstaecker have a professional quality at a price to create without restriction. This range is very interesting for the realization of large-format works and the " heavy users " color magnet have large reserves .
My opinion:
This is a bright , pleasant to use paint and a good value for money . But I think she was not suited to what I wanted to do because I find the result too bright ( and staff associated with the table view ) I do not like the color rendering.
I think with knives the result could be better. .
I think it should be well suited for this kind of achievement . The brilliance in this case will be a strong point. Like all the paintings , it must be tested several times and in several styles to find its advantages and disadvantages .
Molotow dripstick !
It is a marker to fill or even normally with Molotow ink but I have personally used the acrylic painting studio and it worked perfectly. The advantage is that you can thin the paint to his liking and easily.
Unlike a brush, it is possible to make very long lines with the subject of paint. The grip is nice too! Anyway, I loved this product, it gives me lots of ideas for future use.

Prêtes à l'emploi et donc applicables directement à partir du tube, les 32 nuances de la gamme peuvent aussi être diluées dans l'eau pour des techniques de transparence et des effets aquarelles.
les peintures acryliques Gerstaecker présentent une qualité professionnelle à un prix permettant de créer sans restriction. Cette gamme est très intéressante pour la réalisation d'œuvres de grand format et pour les "gros consommateurs" de couleurs aimant disposer d'importantes réserves.
Mon avis:
C'est une peinture brillante, agréable à l'utilisation et d'un bon rapport qualité prix. Mais je pense qu'elle n'était pas adaptée à ce que j'ai voulu faire car je trouve le résultat trop brillant (avis personnel et lié à ce tableau) Je n'aime pas non plus le rendus des couleurs.
Je pense que j'aurais dû faire un tableau au couteau pour la tester. Je ferais donc une seconde vidéo avec cette fois plus de matières. En attenant je la garde de coté.
Je pense qu'elle doit être bien adaptée pour ce genre de réalisation. La brillance dans ce cas pourrait être un point fort. Comme toutes les peintures, il faut la tester plusieurs fois et dans plusieurs styles pour trouver ses avantages et inconvénients.
Molotow Dripstick!
Il s'agit d'un marqueur à remplir soit même, normalement avec de l'encre Molotow mais j'ai personnellement utilisé la peinture studio acryl et ça a fonctionné parfaitement. L'avantage c'est qu'on peut fluidifier la peinture à sa convenance et facilement.
Contrairement à un pinceau, il est possible de faire de très longues lignes grâce à la réserve de peinture. La prise en main est agréable aussi! Bref, j'ai beaucoup aimé ce produit, il me donne beaucoup d'idées de futures utilisations.

This was really fun! but kind of messy but an easy clean up using paper towel and the hair dryer to help heat up the crayon and whipe it away. I called this art peice "The Aura"

Hi, welcome back to Art with Andy
I'm Andy Morris and today we're going to be talking about texture
and different ways you can get that in your paintings
one way you can get texture in your paintings is
by using collage elements like Rice Papers
that have a lot of fibers in them
Another way is to use Zerox Copies of
materials that have fibers in them
on this particular piece of paper I also added some colored pencil work
so this can go into a painting
Another way is you can use stencils
Now this isn't sold as a stencil
it's some decorative element you find in places like Home Depot and other hardware stores
but I'm going to use it today, and I'm going to spray some Ink that's just thinned out a little bit
I have it in a little spray bottle. You find these spray bottles at Beauty Supply Stores
so when we put this pattern up here
and then spray into it
we get a textured pattern on the canvas
Another way you can get texture in your paintings
is by scraping paint across the canvas and letting the paint break
So I got some paints that I just put on here, I put quite a bit on there
and then as you can see as I drag this across
that's creating texture
Another way you can get texture is with Combs and Tools like these
These are actual Combs and you pick them up at Dollar Store for about a dollar
and they make some interesting marks
when you have wet paint on there particularly thru thick paint
and sometimes if the paint's thick enough you can get them to continue the marks on down
Now another way to get texture
when you have some fairly thin paint, if you have thick paint this doesn't work
when you have some fairly thin paint. See actually that needs to be wetter
Always keep a spray bottle full of water handy
always keep some paper towels handy. These are tools you are going to use constantly
O.K. so I got my paint up there
I believe it's wet enough
and I just take a piece of Plastic Wrap
and I lay that into my painting
now you probably won't be able to tell right now
but the plastic wrap is going to create some random marks and lines
as the paint dries underneath there
you'd leave this on there until it's dry
Another way to do it though and get some texture also is to take some plastic wrap
put it into wet paint
pick up that wet paint and then move it to another part of the canvas
so you're kind of using the plastic wrap as a stamp
you can do that a few times
each time it's going to make less of a mark than the time before
yet another way that you can get
let me find my Foam Brush
now there probably aren't too many of you that don't know about this yet but
I'm going to show it to you anyway because we got some beginners out there
This is Bubble Wrap, this happens to be Small Bubble Wrap
and you can just paint some thinned out paint, again thick paint doesn't work as well
with these techniques
put some thinned out paint on it. I'm not getting very much paint
and then you just stamp it on to your canvas or paper
like that
I don't use Bubble Wrap too often in my work just because
Everybody knows about it
and I want my paintings to be unique
but it does work to provide texture
there are lots of other ways you can create texture and I'll be showing you more of those in later videos

Erst durch die Bearbeitung litt die Qualität etwas. Mein Fazit: Die Sony Alpha 6000 selbst hat eine sehr gute Film und Bildqualität, ideal für Hobbyfilmer, selbst vom Profi gibt es hier auf Youtube tolle Empfehlungen. Es folgen noch mehr Testvideos mit der neuen Kamera.
Mit diesem Video von der abstrakten Malerei wollte ich speziel den Kontrast vom Blau zu Orange mit Rot aufnehmen. Die Tonaufnahme vom eingebauten Mikrofon an der Kamera war kräftig und klar, schnelles Fokussieren, einfache und komfortable Bedienung, leichte Kamera mit vielen Funktionen.
With this Video Demonstration Version i used my new camerea, in iMovie i did some cuttings and timelapse. The quality of the film lost after the work in imovie a little picture clearence, but that has nothing to do with the camera itself. I took blue, white, orange and crimson red as a contrast on the canvas for the abstract art painting, the integrated micro of the camera recorded a clear and powerful sound, a fast surch for changing filming spots (focalize) is also included, it is a very light camera (small Weight) with lots of really good functions.

Does abstract art stand for something or is it supposed to be understood as just itself?
These might be thought of as unanswerable questions, but by looking at key historical figures and exploring the private world of abstract artists today, Collings shows that there are, in fact, answers.
Living artists in the programme create art in front of the camera using techniques that seem outrageously free, but through his friendly-yet-probing interview style Collings immediately establishes that the work always has a firm rationale. When Collings visits 92-year-old Bert Irvin in his studio in Stepney, east London he finds that the colourful works continue experiments in perceptual ideas about colour and space first established by abstract art pioneers such as Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky in the 1910s.
Other historic artists featured in the programme include the notorious Jackson Pollock, the maker of drip paintings, and Mark Rothko, whose abstractions often consist of nothing but large expanses of red. Collings explains the inner structure of such works. It turns out there are hidden rules to abstraction that viewers of this intriguing, groundbreaking programme may never have expected.

Ready and therefore apply directly from the tube , the 32 shades in the range can be diluted in water for technical transparency and watercolor effects.
acrylic paints Gerstaecker have a professional quality at a price to create without restriction. This range is very interesting for the realization of large-format works and the " heavy users " color magnet have large reserves .
My opinion:
This is a bright , pleasant to use paint and a good value for money . But I think she was not suited to what I wanted to do because I find the result too bright ( and staff associated with the table view ) I do not like the color rendering.
I think with knives the result could be better. .
I think it should be well suited for this kind of achievement . The brilliance in this case will be a strong point. Like all the paintings , it must be tested several times and in several styles to find its advantages and disadvantages .
Molotow dripstick !
It is a marker to fill or even normally with Molotow ink but I have personally used the acrylic painting studio and it worked perfectly. The advantage is that you can thin the paint to his liking and easily.
Unlike a brush, it is possible to make very long lines with the subject of paint. The grip is nice too! Anyway, I loved this product, it gives me lots of ideas for future use.

les peintures acryliques Gerstaecker présentent une qualité professionnelle à un prix permettant de créer sans restriction. Cette gamme est très intéressante pour la réalisation d'œuvres de grand format et pour les "gros consommateurs" de couleurs aimant disposer d'importantes réserves.
Mon avis:
C'est une peinture brillante, agréable à l'utilisation et d'un bon rapport qualité prix. Mais je pense qu'elle n'était pas adaptée à ce que j'ai voulu faire car je trouve le résultat trop brillant (avis personnel et lié à ce tableau) Je n'aime pas non plus le rendus des couleurs.

acrylic paints Gerstaecker have a professional quality at a price to create without restriction. This range is very interesting for the realization of large-format works and the " heavy users " color magnet have large reserves .
My opinion:
This is a bright , pleasant to use paint and a good value for money . But I think she was not suited to what I wanted to do because I find the result too bright ( and staff associated with the table view ) I do not like the color rendering.
I think with knives the result could be better. .
I think it should be well suited for this kind of achievement . The brilliance in this case will be a strong point. Like all the paintings , it must be tested several times and in several styles to find its advantages and disadvantages .
Molotow dripstick !
It is a marker to fill or even normally with Molotow ink but I have personally used the acrylic painting studio and it worked perfectly. The advantage is that you can thin the paint to his liking and easily.
Unlike a brush, it is possible to make very long lines with the subject of paint. The grip is nice too! Anyway, I loved this product, it gives me lots of ideas for future use.

Hi, welcome back to Art with Andy
I'm Andy Morris and today we're going to be talking about texture
and different ways you can get that in your paintings
one way you can get texture in your paintings is
by using collage elements like Rice Papers
that have a lot of fibers in them
Another way is to use Zerox Copies of
materials that have fibers in them
on this particular piece of paper I also added some colored pencil work
so this can go into a painting
Another way is you can use stencils
Now this isn't sold as a stencil
it's some decorative element you find in places like Home Depot and other hardware stores
but I'm going to use it today, and I'm going to spray some Ink that's just thinned out a little bit
I have it in a little spray bottle. You find these spray bottles at Beauty Supply Stores
so when we put this pattern up here
and then spray into it
we get a textured pattern on the canvas
Another way you can get texture in your paintings
is by scraping paint across the canvas and letting the paint break
So I got some paints that I just put on here, I put quite a bit on there
and then as you can see as I drag this across
that's creating texture
Another way you can get texture is with Combs and Tools like these
These are actual Combs and you pick them up at Dollar Store for about a dollar
and they make some interesting marks
when you have wet paint on there particularly thru thick paint
and sometimes if the paint's thick enough you can get them to continue the marks on down
Now another way to get texture
when you have some fairly thin paint, if you have thick paint this doesn't work
when you have some fairly thin paint. See actually that needs to be wetter
Always keep a spray bottle full of water handy
always keep some paper towels handy. These are tools you are going to use constantly
O.K. so I got my paint up there
I believe it's wet enough
and I just take a piece of Plastic Wrap
and I lay that into my painting
now you probably won't be able to tell right now
but the plastic wrap is going to create some random marks and lines
as the paint dries underneath there
you'd leave this on there until it's dry
Another way to do it though and get some texture also is to take some plastic wrap
put it into wet paint
pick up that wet paint and then move it to another part of the canvas
so you're kind of using the plastic wrap as a stamp
you can do that a few times
each time it's going to make less of a mark than the time before
yet another way that you can get
let me find my Foam Brush
now there probably aren't too many of you that don't know about this yet but
I'm going to show it to you anyway because we got some beginners out there
This is Bubble Wrap, this happens to be Small Bubble Wrap
and you can just paint some thinned out paint, again thick paint doesn't work as well
with these techniques
put some thinned out paint on it. I'm not getting very much paint
and then you just stamp it on to your canvas or paper
like that
I don't use Bubble Wrap too often in my work just because
Everybody knows about it
and I want my paintings to be unique
but it does work to provide texture
there are lots of other ways you can create texture and I'll be showing you more of those in later videos

Erst durch die Bearbeitung litt die Qualität etwas. Mein Fazit: Die Sony Alpha 6000 selbst hat eine sehr gute Film und Bildqualität, ideal für Hobbyfilmer, selbst vom Profi gibt es hier auf Youtube tolle Empfehlungen. Es folgen noch mehr Testvideos mit der neuen Kamera.
Mit diesem Video von der abstrakten Malerei wollte ich speziel den Kontrast vom Blau zu Orange mit Rot aufnehmen. Die Tonaufnahme vom eingebauten Mikrofon an der Kamera war kräftig und klar, schnelles Fokussieren, einfache und komfortable Bedienung, leichte Kamera mit vielen Funktionen.
With this Video Demonstration Version i used my new camerea, in iMovie i did some cuttings and timelapse. The quality of the film lost after the work in imovie a little picture clearence, but that has nothing to do with the camera itself. I took blue, white, orange and crimson red as a contrast on the canvas for the abstract art painting, the integrated micro of the camera recorded a clear and powerful sound, a fast surch for changing filming spots (focalize) is also included, it is a very light camera (small Weight) with lots of really good functions.
